The Flatiron Room at Nomad has become our go-to location for special events, for always great food, always great music, and, even more so, always great service! This years New Years Eve dinner was again awesome. Our server, Brian, was the best! The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were spectacular. We will visit many more times. -

We went to the Flatiron Room for a late dinner on Saturday night. We had a reservation (highly recommend) and were seated quickly. In our reservation we requested a table in the main room so we could hear the live music. If you’re looking for a quieter meal with more conversation, especially between a larger group, then I’d recommend requesting being seated elsewhere. The food was pretty good—but I think you really come here for the atmosphere. The dessert we got was great and also fun! Our server was nice, but busy with many tables. Overall, would recommend! -

The atmosphere was nice, the food was average, but the overall vibe of the restaurant was worth trying once. The music was absolutely amazing. -

I made a reservation for late after show dinner Saturday night and requested to be close to the stage. We were delighted when the maitre de seated us at the best table in the house, close enough to talk with the musicians between songs. We all agreed that the food was excellent, properly prepared and nicely seasoned. Because tables are reserved for a block of time we were could relax and not feel rushed. The manager handled a special request for us that greatly added to our enjoyment. We will be back and I will certainly recommend to friends. -

Amazing experience, staff incredibly attentive recognising really nicely that it was my wife’s 40th birthday.Food was top tier across all 3 courses - you have to try the coffee - not tasted anything like it before. -
Review 6 (2023-10-19 - Rating: 5)
Great date night spot. Live jazz/soul while you eat. There seems to be a 2 hour maximum for the table and they make that apparent when you arrive. They have a coat check for cold nights. The cocktails were on point and the food was delicious. Would come back when in NYC. -

Had done two very informative and fun virtual whiskey tastings with the owner Tommie during the pandemic. Finally got here in person. Beautiful room. Live music. Best Espresso Martini (with bourbon) ever. Food was excellent. Our server, Maria, was attentive, friendly and helpful. Will return! -

We had a blast. Awesome service, delicious food, and impressive cocktails. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city. Highly recommend. -

We came from Costa Rica and we loved this place so much that we came twice. Love the decor, the music, the cocktails ( Flatiron Mule its a must). -
Review 10 (2023-02-14 - Rating: 5)
We came here for the Valentines Day prix-fixe and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular! We had front row seats to the live jazz set which was sensational. Anthony, our waiter, was most gracious and attentive. He kindly catered to every request we had and even walked us through the whiskey pairing we added on to the three-course meal. We’ll definitely be looking for him next time we come here as we felt his service style made this night extra special! -
Review 11 (2024-09-18 - Rating: 4)
The food and space is lovely, very nice music and musicians! The service overall was good, however, the waitress were too fast in collecting our plates and even taking away plates and drinks that we were still enjoying. It looked like they were in a rush for us to leave as soon as possible and this was not very pleasant. -
Review 12 (2024-09-27 - Rating: 5)
The food was great, the band was lovely and the service was excellent. We recommend! -
Review 13 (2024-05-14 - Rating: 5)
One of our favorite places in NYC! Warm, cozy and intimate - a wonderful vibe. Food and cocktails are excellent snd the service is as well. The entertainment is always fantastic and the volume is perfect - the music can be heard over a lively crowd but we never need to yell over it to have a conversation. -

I have a wonderful experience last Thursday’s the restaurant was amazing the food was wonderfulThe steak my favorite 100% recommend the octopus for appetizers and meatballs was so delicious, we order margaritas for drinks but was ok 5/10, the dessert so delicious 10/10. The server Tamara was very kind and check if all was good very often good service 10/10. The music was fantastic beautiful voice and moments. ( Only at the entrance the hostess look very angry or something was wrong, it didnt make you want to enter the place). -

Had a very nice business dinner here, which I wasn’t sure would happen because there is live music and it’s kind of a happening place! But, we were set into a little space that was a little separate and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, the conversation, and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Food was quite awesome, drinks too, so that helped! -

The Flatiron Room is a fun and unique experience. It is a step back in time with a certain 1920s swagger. You get amazingly unique live entertainment surrounded by an extremely large whiskey selection. There whiskey selection is quite extensive and our very helpful server guided my wife to a few great whiskey selections. I myself stuck with their outstanding cocktail menu. -
Review 17 (2023-05-11 - Rating: 5)
A must go place.Live jazz music every day in this speakeasy vibe bar and restaurant.Dimed lights, shelves of liquor surrounding you and chilling ambient.Friendly staff and excellent service.Little pricey though... recommend to make reservation. -

Review 19 (2022-04-27 - Rating: 5)
This place was everything I hoped for and more! An intimate night spot with live music that transports you back to the 40s. The band fit the room and the overall ambiance. The drinks (I had a smoked Old Fashioned) were high quality. Overall, the experience is what you go for. You feel a part of the place when youre there. I highly recommend a visit! -
Review 20 (2022-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Amazingly beautiful speakeasy type bar. Incredible bands for 1920-1940 music. I just wish they had been in attire that matched the music. Our Server AJ was awesome, even though he forgot my ice, then brought me two cups and took the rate from $300 down to $250. (Not really... ice was free).... Drinks were out of this world and nothing like we have ever had! Simply Amazing! -
Review 21 (2023-03-06 - Rating: 4)
My first time here, was very impressed with the atmosphere, entertainment, and service. Most jazz places in the past were a bit old and past their prime with mediocre fare and indifferent service. This was a welcome change, I came here with some guest from out of town and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Its not a cheap gin joint but rather a very sophisticated richly atmospheric environment were kool vibes seem to flow from everywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the variety of drinks are extensive, and the food presentations looked sublime. We drank some18yr scotches and shared a cheese tray. The cheeses were delightful and complimented the drinks well. Our server was very helpful, Frazier, and made the evening hassle free. We came after dinner but they serve dinner here and the items we saw being served looked lovely. We will come for dinner next time, cant wait to visit again. The performance from the 4pc combo was very smooth and relaxing, they perform regularly on Friday and Saturday evening after 9pm.Its conveniently located off the Broadway local and a gem of a spot. I dont think youll be disappointed. -
Review 22 (2024-10-17 - Rating: 5)
Late dinner with a colleague and friend visiting from Italy, our meals were excellent, the restaurant is beautiful, but Lura the bartender made our evening unforgettable. She shared what went into our meal preparation, the story about the restaurant. We were curious to know her story.NYC is filled with great restaurants and The Flatiron Room is among them, but ask for Lura when you visit. You’ll quickly understand my rave review. -
Review 23 (2022-09-08 - Rating: 4)
We had an incredible experience at the Flatiron Room. The food was excellent, with a wide selection of cocktails in a beautiful setting. The live jazz music really added to the ambiance. Our only disappointment was the service. We found the hostess and server throughout our interactions to be quite cold, which can really detract from ones experience. We would still highly recommend checking out this place! -

The Flatiron Room in NoMad is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re enveloped by an elegant, vintage atmosphere that’s both cozy and sophisticated. The live jazz performances are top-notch, adding an incredible ambiance to the night. The cocktail selection is impressive, with each drink crafted to perfection. The food is equally delightful, with every dish prepared with care and full of rich flavors. The service is impeccable; the staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making you feel truly welcomed. Whether you’re there for a romantic evening or just to enjoy some great music, The Flatiron Room delivers an unforgettable experience that my partner and I won’t forget. We Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a night of fine dining, exquisite drinks, and jazz. -

I loved the romantic vibe created by the live jazz, piano playing, and singing. The ambiance and decor were great, and their cocktails were delicious. Highly recommended for a perfect night out! 💙 -
Review 28 (2024-09-02 - Rating: 5)
Came here for our 5 year anniversary dinner. Food was fantastic, cocktails were exquisite and delicious. Very well crafted. I got the take me back to tulum. Restaurant menu week was still in effect got a 3 course meal for $60, great deal. Amazing service as well and the ambience was hypnotic. Live music was so good. And once again, the service! New spots come in to this city and are trendy and cool but in my experience lack in service. It’s nice to come to these established spots with a reputation and focused on service. Highly recommend -
Review 29 (2024-08-19 - Rating: 5)
What brought us in to this spot was the live music; and what had us stay all night was the scotch and service of our bartender, Caleb! He was knowledgable and friendly as he entertained our debates about wine and whiskey. Caleb guided us through multiple flights and helped us in refining our palettes throughout the evening and for wherever our scotch-tasting journey takes us next.5 stars on service, plus the a beautiful atmosphere and musical entertainment! -
Review 30 (2023-05-13 - Rating: 5)
High-class drinks, jazzy atmosphere, and excellent whiskey. Went here for drinks with my wife. Staff were very accommodating and we had a great experience. The drinks were fantastic, honestly one of the best smoking old fashioneds Ive had.The whiskey selection is incredible, Ive never seen such an extensive selection in my life. Its like one of those places that has a million wine choices, but instead of wine, its whiskey. If youre a whiskey aficionado, this is the place for you. -
Review 31 (2024-10-10 - Rating: 5)
I cannot say enough about the incredible experience I had at The Flatiron Rooms Supper Club last night! It was truly a special evening from start to finish. The ambiance was perfect, the service impeccable, and the food — wow. The chicken was absolutely life-changing and so was the dessert! Plus, the magician was mind-blowing. This was an experience to remember, and I can’t wait to go back. -
Review 32 (2023-01-11 - Rating: 4)
A timeless bar/lounge great for whiskey and jazz enthusiasts. With live performances and variety of whiskey flights, its perfect 1920s vibes. Hubby really enjoyed his Discovery whiskey tasting flights which included rye, scotch, Irish, and Japanese whiskey. For food we ordered the steak frites, short-rib burger, and the enchiladas. The enchiladas were my favorite- bursting with flavors. The short-rib and steak frites was decent - wish it was warmer. The steak was cold by the time I took my second bite but the sauce was delightful. We finished with the 28 layer chocolate cake. The cake was super moist and not overly sweet but we couldnt finish the big slice as you can imagine. -
Review 33 (2023-06-25 - Rating: 5)
Nice atmosphere in this place and its a good fit for myself visiting the first Jazz club ever in my life. Food is not really amazing but definitely met my expectations.Live music starts from 7pm and it fits my plan to get back to hotel before its getting dark around 8:30pm. Many other places are having live music starting from 8pm and its too late for me. -
Review 34 (2023-01-18 - Rating: 5)
This place is amazing! Walk through the doors into the dining room and itll feel like youve been transported into an old western movie. The decor is classy vintage and the whisky selection has to be one of the best on the east coast. Live music starts around 7pm and the waitress says that there are two bands on the weekends. We split a whisky flight and followed up with several of their classic cocktails, including the Smoking Old Fashioned and the Apriscot. The drinks are very imaginative and well balanced. We also split appetizers: the burrata is rich and creamy, a perfect pair with the whisky flight. The shishito peppers are presented with a smoky dome (tip: take a video when the waiter unveils it). The highlight was the bone marrow: super rich, meat marrow with decadent garlic toast. The whisky drinks helped to balance out the richness. -
Review 35 (2018-01-27 - Rating: 5)
Nice romantic ambiance, fantastic cocktail selection, and classic jazz on a nightly basis without cover. The menu features vegetarian and vegan choices, and various plates that we tried were well prepared. The main attraction is the variety of whiskey and bourbon. Notable: you may purchase an entire bottle which they will keep for you in a pretty display cage, to finish in as many return visits as you wish. -
Review 36 (2024-12-05 - Rating: 5)
The food, the atmosphere, the service were really good. You feel like youre in New York.I will definitely go again.🍾❤️💯 -
Review 37 (2019-03-01 - Rating: 5)
This classy whisky bar with 2000 bottles in their collection (as I was told) and live jazz music creates the perfect ambience for a special night-out. The service was excellent, they were all very pleasant and attentive. The food I had was alright and the portion reasonable. I will definitely visit again whenever Im in New York. Highly recommended! -
Review 38 (2019-03-11 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite jazz bars in Manhattan. Have come here many times for a drink and some jazz. We ordered blackmagic cocktail which was delicious and a 10 year tallisker scotch. Tables were all reserved but in the past we have gotten the small tables near the bar. It was a fine evening. -
Review 39 (2024-09-28 - Rating: 4)
After a week of amazing Italian food in Hell’s Kitchen, I wanted to experience some live music with my dinner. I sat at the bar, so did not have to make a reservation or wait (definitely make a reservation otherwise). The atmosphere had that speakeasy jazz bar feel. Fun music, dim lights and the service was great. I tried one of their mocktails which was fantastic, however the rest of the menu felt quite lacking. I ended up getting the Eggplant Pasta which was good, but nothing to write home about. -
Review 40 (2024-08-11 - Rating: 5)
Caleb the bartender serving us was so accommodating making customized non-alcoholic drinks for my guest. Just very kind and professional. Had such a great time. Fabulous place for a drink and a meal! -
Review 41 (2024-09-07 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely incredible place. Extensive whiskey/scotch selection and unbelievably wonderful live jazz. We caught MCP, who performs there each Friday night, and wow. Just divine! Would come back every Friday if I lived her but it will be my go to for evening jazz entertainment and top notch drinks and shareable whenever I’m in the city!We had the stuffed eggplant, the eggplant portion was delicious but the oyster mushrooms were meh, the charred octopus was perfect, and the halibut was exceptional. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was impeccable! -
Review 42 (2023-05-13 - Rating: 5)
As soon as you walk in you know its going to be a good evening. We had great seats to view the band, which was terrific. Food was good, as was the smoky old-fashioned. Well be back. -

Need a place to sample some different scotches? Amazing selection! If you are a scotch affectionato, this is the place to go. Prices are reasonable, but expect to pay a little. Balvenie 25 , was $154. Worth it!Have to go back next visit. -
Review 44 (2023-02-13 - Rating: 4)
Dont get me wrong, TFR is a nice place. However, it didnt meet the impression I got from reviews. This was my first time visiting and while it was a fun night out; I dont see myself returning. My interest is Bourbon and the Bourbon menu wasnt all that exciting. It may be better for other whisky types but I didnt look. The music during my sitting was also very... ok. The setup and decor is very cool though! Overall a 4 out of 5; heavily propped up by the ambiance and service. -
Review 45 (2024-08-10 - Rating: 5)

We had a great time at the Flatiron Room. The music, the service and the vibe of the place were all super. Our server Anthony was the best. The blue trio was excellent. We have been often and plan to be back again soon. -
Review 47 (2023-07-09 - Rating: 5)
If you are ever in NYC, you have to get to the Flatiron Room. It’s a wonderful place that allows you to go back in time to when cocktail lounges were a place to be seen! Great drinks, great staff and tremendous live music! Don’t miss Miss Maybell! -
Review 48 (2024-08-01 - Rating: 5)

We had Christmas day dinner with a jazz band playing in the background on stage. The mood is dark and 8ntimate, the food was great and the service was attentive and timely. Would go back again for dinner or drinks and a show. -

Went for cocktails. Luis is the definition of what a bartender should be. He explained the drinks, history, and gave awesome suggestions. I was only in NY for a business trip but I will definitely be back next time. -

Review 52 (2023-12-23 - Rating: 5)
A first-class NYC experience the moment you see the entrance on the street. From the hosts, coat room, wait staff, and wait support, every single member of the staff was warm, engaging without being intrusive, kind, and gracious. The food was outstanding and gorgeously presented. Our server was expert in service and her recommendations for whiskey based on my tastes. The band was impeccable and great balance/volume for the space. What an amazing experience from beginning to end!If you want the perfect, top-notch, five-star treatment make your reservations.Thank you to those who conceived, executed, and continue to maintain the vision of this space. -
Review 53 (2022-10-06 - Rating: 4)
Had very high expectations for this place. The cocktails were great, the food was okay nothing special to be honest. The chocolate dessert was my favorite part, definitely a must have.We had the burrata which was very small and good, the fries were okay but the truffle sauce was delicious. I had the shrimp linguini that were pretty salty, nothing special. The live jazz music was nice! -
Review 54 (2017-10-12 - Rating: 4)
The period decor alone makes you feel like you have walked into someplace special. There was a melodic 3 piece jazz band playing when we arrived. It was still happy hour so we ordered some fruity cocktails we usually wouldnt order. They were pretty terrible. There were big ice chuncks in my drink, and the flavor profiles were just wrong. They did get bonus points for having bone marrow on the menu. It was fantastic! The greens and onion crunchies served with it complimented the rich marrow beautifully. We split the short rib entree; it was dry. We also got the app with tomatoes, fruit and cheese, I forget the name. It was good, plenty to share for more than 2. Then the waiter spilled food on my boyfriends suit coat... The manger rushed over, apologized profusely, comped our entire meal, and asked us to send the dry cleaning bill! I was impressed. We didnt send to cleaning bill, that was too much. However, it was a bummer because we were there to eat before going out to a show. Next time, coat check. -
Review 55 (2024-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Best place to enjoy live jazz, awesome signature cocktails and, for real, the best fries! Truffle fries are just out of this world -
Review 56 (2022-11-19 - Rating: 5)
We celebrated pre-dinner cocktails at the Flatiron Room. The live jazz band was a spectacular addition to an incredible experience where our server was knowledgeable and very accommodating to our party of four. He answered all of our questions, made suggestions based on our likes and dislikes, and could not have made us feel more welcome. A hidden NYC gem! -
Review 57 (2023-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Any whiskey you could imagine. Cocktails and drinks are top notch. The music has no cover and provided a very chill environment. Will be back! -
Review 58 (2024-04-09 - Rating: 5)
I expected great whiskey on my visit, however the food was incredibly delicious. The music was spectacular. Although I expected a formidable whiskey selection, I was surprised by how fair the pricing was. Great whiskey can be costly, but The Flatiron Room prices fairly. Well definitely will be back. -

Always a good time at the Flatiron room. Good food, drinks, and vibes. Live music always makes the night better. Always get a reservation to get the good seats in the house. Small venue so keep that in mind in case you are a walk-in.Maybe its a one-off thing but hate when they gatekeep for no reason. It was a Monday, mostly empty and didnt need to turn it into a Q&A just to get in. -
Review 62 (2019-04-17 - Rating: 5)
Great cocktails and vibe. The live jazz adds a great ambiance to the room and isn’t overpoweringly loud. Pricey (17-20 a cocktail) but expansive whiskey selection. -

A bit strange that we couldn’t walk in and get a table, but you could make a reservation while standing in line and then get one. It was a neat place with a good atmosphere. -

I love the Flatiron Room for jazz and great cocktails! A group of friends went and we were seated right next to the stage. I do wish we had. Seat further back to enjoy the full view and acoustic balance. We ordered burrata, cauliflower, duck confit, sea bass and a bevy of cocktails. It was delicious and our server was very attentive! The experience does come with a price tag, but is a must see/do at least once. -
Review 67 (2024-01-25 - Rating: 5)
Apart from the fantastic food and cocktails, excellent blues band and atmosphere, and superb service, there were two standout experiences that make this place truly special for me.1) I expressed an interest in the custom-made cocktail sticks. Our impressive server, Chris, said they are for sale ($20 for 5, I think) but took the time to ask his manager who was nearby. They asked how many I need and I said only one. They cheerfully gave me a few, which was especially kind as I was indicating I would buy them. However, I was even more impressed with the service when I needed help from the service team upon returning home.2) I realized I had left my favorite flat cap (bought in England) at the coat check, but I was flying out that evening and could not go back to the restaurant to retrieve it. We emailed later explaining my mistake. Within a short time, the general manager, Igor responded. Igor graciously agreed to mail the cap and assured us he’d take care of everything. And he did. A few days later, my cap arrived in North Carolina.Thank you, Chris and Igor for your kindness and making the entire experience at The Flatiron Room so pleasant and memorable. We look forward to returning, hopefully soon! -

Awesome date spot. Cute little tables and great music if youre into jazz. Not too loud which is nice, I could hear the music but still talk to my friend. Not going to find many young kids in here. -

I decided to try this establishment for the first time because I wanted to hear the singer, Joanne Weaver, perform. The set up is nice and the stage visible from the whole space. Joanne is fantastic. She put her own unique spin on American Standards songs you will know from the Broadway and 20th century jazz vocals. She makes these songs her own, which is so important since many of these songs have been recorded many times. Set highlights include Til There Was You and Whats New?For dinner, I had gnocchi with mushrooms which was excellent. We ordered the 28 layer chocolate cake for dessert. Its presentation was excellent, but the taste did not live up to the expectations. My friend enjoyed her gin-based Garden of Eden cocktail and the service at the bar was attentive and kind. -

We had the pleasure of attending the Thanksgiving dinner this year with live music and outstanding food and drinks. We arrived an hour+ before our reservation as our sight seeing ended earlier than planned. The manager took my family to a special mezzanine table and we relaxed with drinks and listened to the band while waiting for our reservation time and table. He served us personally and made us feel like the VIPs that we certainly are not!Our reservation table was our own semi-private room right off the stage where we could enjoy the band and have an intimate Thanksgiving dinner with the family. The food was unique and bursting with flavor. The bourbon and spirits list is one of the best in the city. The Blantons Bourbon I had was from a hand selected barrel that the manager personally traveled to the Buffalo Trace Distillery to pick out.The ambiance, lighting, and decor of the Flat Iron Room enhance the experience with beauty, taste, and class. The clientele were beautiful, well dressed, and everyone had a great time. Our server made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant with outstanding timely customer service. Her great attitude and beautiful smile helped cement the night as one of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. If you want to impress a date, Ive found you a great spot! Families need some special attention? Look no further! Looking for a special NYC dining experience? Three words. Flat Iron Room. Enjoy! -

Loved the ambience of the flatiron room. We reserved a table for 5, but they generously accommodated the 6 of us. Regarding their drinks, I was complete blown. Four of us ordered the whiskly flights including the single Malts, Pete and Kings road. Just loved the selection specially the single Malts including speyburn and glendraco....The best whisky place in town and worth a visit. -

Darren was behind the bar and he made our experience an amazing one! Very knowledgeable in the various products, helpful with pairing and great conversation during our time. The space was very inviting and comforting. The live music was great and helped create a wonderful environment. Scotch egg was fantastic! Overall a night to remember and will definitely be back whenever in the area again! A must for spirit enthusiasts of every kind! -

Amazing atmosphere with live Jazz music. Food is great, cocktails are perfect. All is top level. The only not-extremely-positive point, the managing staff: not so emphatic. Anyway, if you are thinking to travel to NYC, consider to spend time here for a very beautiful experience. Expensive, but all you will have here worth the price. -

Remarkable live performances. Classic NY City Jazz in a spacious beautiful setting and full menu. Try the portobello fries. This was a last minute trist and it was unforgettable. Thank you John for giving us the best seat in town. Susan Tobocman Trio was awesome. Susan, Pete, Evan and Mike, lovely performance. -

This was our second time getting to experience an evening at The Flatiron Room. We had a reservation for 10pm for the jazz performance. At first we got seated in the very back booth. While cozy, we couldnt hear the music or see the performers. We were ready to leave. However, when we asked, they moved us to a front table and it was suddenly just as we remembered it to be. Wonderful music, fabulous drinks, tasty food, and iconic environment. Highly recommend visiting here for a lovely evening. -

I went here last Saturday night.I tried also the last year to walk in but with no result, because I forgot to make the reservation. The location is very small, but really intimate, the acoustic is really good and grant you to ear the music at 110 %!I had also a dinner here and to be honest, normally when you go to a music club the food is not really the best, but this cliché here is completely refuted. The food was good, with high quality row material.Last but not least the drinks, no words to describe it…..super!!!! -

My friends and I made plans to go to Flatiron room on a Sunday evening. It was a random find on Google the night before. Our reservation was for 6pm. We were about 20 minutes late but we sat with no issues. It wasn’t busy at all. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The live music was great and so were the drinks. Now for the food. Let’s just say. I would totally go back for drinks and music, I would eat prior to or make plans for dinner after. The atmosphere was great! Just the food lacked seasoning all around. -

Had a great time here -- we came for the live jazz performance at 9pm on a friday night (be sure to make reservations ahead!) but also thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails we ordered. Our server was Anthony and he was great! I would definitely bring friends from out of town here. -

Review 95 (2023-01-08 - Rating: 4)
Very cool vibe and good service. Limited menu but good food. However this is more of a supper club. We thought we’d be able to really hear the music but the crowd noise is pretty loud. Fun place but not if you seriously want to enjoy the jazz. Kelly Green Trio was awesome - from what we could hear! -

Absolute experience. Loved this place. The ambience and drinks were fantastic. Loved the jazz performance. It was a delight to see the bartenders create the drinks. That was a show itself. My favorite is the Smoking Old Fashion. It’s a must if you come here. They have a beautiful display of liquors from all over. It’s an absolute must for people who appreciate good liquor and cocktails. I went here with a friend and just walked in without a reservation. We were seated at the bar with no wait. Even for a Friday night, it wasn’t too bad. Can’t wait to come back again. -

Review 100 (2023-05-21 - Rating: 4)
Very limited food menus so I decided not to eat, but my girlfriend did and wasnt impressed by the appetizer salad she had. Tuesdays live music is a huge plus for a change of scenery, but the vibe dies early and the food is not gonna keep ya there a minute passed the entertainment leaving. Staff was accommodating and nice, but I wasnt impressed. Perhaps I will come another day to see if theres a differnt response. -
Review 101 (2023-06-27 - Rating: 5)
Stumbled on this gem with live music. Was seated right away with no reservation. Caught the last song of a live band which was great, and then a DJ came on. I had the short ribs that were cooked to tender perfection. Hubby had crabcakws that he enjoyed. We had a side of macaroni which was made with large manicotti shells. Was different with an interesting taste; despite preferring smaller shells. Great service and ambience. Great mix of crowd too. -

On a recent visit to New York, a friend of mine invited me to this amazing place. I was starving for some good blues or jazz.So many good things to say about this place, its hard to define. The food served at the bar was excellent and it looked like the couples that were up front near the stage were having a very romantic and entertaining evening. If you are into whiskey then their selection of over 3,000 different types will blow your mind. I try to be sneaky and request a list all of the Japanese whiskeys and was presented with over nine types in their standard menu. Four of those whiskeys Id never even heard of. These guys dont mess around when it comes to high quality hooch.Definitely recommend you check this out since its only about three blocks from the 22nd Street station. Also, if you go there earlier in the day, there is an amazing variety of second hand clothing stores in the neighborhood. -

We had an exceptional experience at The Flatiron Room! The food was the best meal of our entire trip to NYC. The live music element adds a bit of flare instead of just having dinner out. The service was impeccable. Not to mention it is beautifully decorated and quite aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommend! -

Incredible experience. Loved the ambiance and performance. Professional and attentive staff. Great cocktails, the Mac n cheese was fire, delicious rich desserts. The steak and frites could’ve been better, it lacked salt, pepper, wasn’t very warm and the bbq sauce was too much. Overall a great place. -

This place is a gem. The live music is insanely good - and free! The drinks are reasonably priced, given the music and killer vibes.A great place to take a date, catch up with friends, or go solo and just enjoy incredible drinks, food, and service (especially from Anthony, he’s so thoughtful and attentive). -

Bourbon and jazz, cant go wrong. Used to be a great place in 2014-15, some sheen has come off lately (service a bit rushed, space a bit more cramped) but not a bad place to sample distilled liquor. -

This restaurant has apparently been re-branded as Fine & Rare. It was an amazing experience with terrific food, fantastic service and stellar musical entertainment. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a social night out in New York City. Its a little pricey, but Id definitely consider this for special occasions. The staff did a great job accommodating food allergies and aversions, and all around we had an amazing date night. -

Best restaurant during our entire trip. FR had everything you could want in a restaurant / jazz club. Live music was incredible (one act had original music, first act was R&B covers of everything from Elton John to The Bee Gees.) Dinner was amazing (Salmon was incredible). Service was first class!!! (We’ll never forget our waiter, Anthony) -

Per usual, amazing. The jazz was A+ and the service was exquisite. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and recommended the perfect flight - he was able to curate the tasting experience and went in depth on each scotch we tried. The server also got our meal in 15 mins past the kitchen closing - thank you so much! 10/10 will be back. -

Love this spot. Its a go to spot for me. Great date spot as well as a spot to hang out with a couple of friends. They literally have almost any whiskey you can think of. You can even buy a bottle of your favorite whiskey, which they keep for you and bring to you whenever you drop by with free snacks. Its a bit of a splurge but me and friends have a few bottles here and enjoy a few drinks while listening to the live music. Its a very relaxed and chill atmosphere. -

Wonderful atmosphere and really special food!! The live music is of course its main attraction, but the menu is really well chosen and presented. The only problem for us is that it was really cold with the AC, and we went in after a really hot day outside, so we were not ready for it. -

Coming from out of town this experience offered an extensive and exquisite menu for both food and drink. Our waiter, Anthony, had such a knowledgeable understanding of everything on the menu and gave recommendations that suited our personal tastes. Anthony made sure we were well taken care of and went out of his way to even write down a few must see’s for us on our trip!!! He truly made this experience one of a kind for us and showed us so much hospitality. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone and will be back next time I’m in town to be served by Anthony again! -

This is my new favourite gem of the city. Jazz and only the best top shelf liquor combined with flavourful food bites. No complaints here. The part that makes this place even more magical though? The staff and management. They take the time to really make your experience what you need it to be. We had a Sommelier to our table giving us some of the best single malt recommendations. We know our scotch but this was a treat to have this gentleman guide us through some uncharted waters. Since it was our first time we did the flight of single malts but when I return and believe me, I WILL RETURN! I intend on doing some rare scotch tastings by the dram. They also offer one of the coolest things Ive seen. Buy a bottle from them and they will store it in their reserve for you, so when you come next time you can just drink your own bottle! Brilliant. I will be doing this for sure too!If you havent been here, it is a NYC MUST!!!! Do not miss and make sure you make reservations or you wont get a table.I also recommend their merchandise at the front too. They make an amazing barrel aged coffee that is delightful! And much more cost effective than the one they sell at the Starbucks reserve store in Chelsea.Thank you guys for a transportive experience, till next time! -

This place is absolutely amazing I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or a night out to grab drinks. Atmosphere is like a 1920s speakeasy and great music and very friendly staff. My wife and I had dinner here and we had the pleasure of having Pierre as our server he was great, very knowledgeable about everything this place has to offer. Loved this place. My wife took me here for my birthday. I did a whiskey sampling, which was excellent. We had some food, which was good of itself, but let’s be frank, we are here for the drinks, and again, they were excellent. My wife had the Kentucky mule, and now were hopelessly trying to replicate the taste at home through trial and error. And heads up on the 21 Layer Cake. It’s definitely 21 layers. It’s not hyperbole like Baskin Robbins claiming to have 31 flavors and having 6. It’s a lot of cake, but worth the effort trying to finish it. -

I absolutely LOVED my first visit! It was my last night in NYC and I was looking for an elevated bar with a sexy, cozy ambiance near my hotel. I love the dim red lights and interior design. There’s coat racks beneath the bar and live entertainment.I first ordered the Blackberry Gimlet, which is a slightly slush frozen drink. It tastes more like juice than alcohol, which is my preference. I would have loved 2 more of those, it was a really tasty cocktail! Next I tried The Free Spirit, which is non-alcoholic. Soooo yummy and creamy! Think tropical vacation vibes. Only complaint is that it got watered down because of the ice before I was even halfway done with it, so I suggest drinking it quickly.Lastly, I had dessert — The Flatiron Sphere. What a cool idea/presentation! It’s presented as a huge chocolate dome, which worried me, but as the server poured the chocolate sauce onto it, the hollow dome collapses to reveal a chocolate cake slice with strawberries and whipped cream. The dome then melts all around the plate. It had a slight pudding texture. Overall, it tasted fine, it was just far too rich for me. I’d order once more just for the presentation lol.I gave the service 4/5 stars. The hostess was polite and accommodating. The bartender was just nice enough. I didn’t find him to be that inviting when I first sat down and he could be snippy at times. But his service was prompt and straight to the point.I wish I had tried this spot sooner and not hours before my flight home. I can’t wait to return and make it a hangout spot! -

Plan ahead and get a reservation. You can potentially get in without one but will most likely have to stand. But once youre in this place is great. Live music (I think) every night and the volume is loud enough to really appreciate it but low enough to very easily chat with your friends. They have solid happy hour deals, the food is great, and I hope youre a whiskey lover because the selection is incredible. Youll probably feel overwhelmed flipping through all the pages of whiskey options but the staff will happily help you decide. And bring a date here! -
Review 152 (2024-08-19 - Rating: 5)
Caleb is fantastic! So attentive and knowledgeable. If youre into whiskeys, this is your spot... Smoked old fashioned is highly recommended. We didnt eat much while we were here, just the focaccia, which was excellent: fluffy and flavorful, plus the accompanying maple butters brought it all together. The live music (rag and blues) tied very coherently to the general vibe and decor of the interior, which definitely enhanced our overall experience. -

A classic place to enjoy world-wide whiskey, along with some great live jazz performances. There might be some wait, but it wasn’t too bad when we popped up on a Friday night. One of the interesting facts is that they roasted their own coffee beans and use them for espresso martini. -

Amazing. We are staying at the Motto by Hilton and just checked in. This was a 5 min walk from our place and what a gem. Their whiskey selection is impressive. I got a flight of their Single Malts and it hit the spot. You MUST order the pork belly, one of the best Ive ever had. The tuna tartare was spot on and the fries were solid. The live music just added to the great ambiance. Definitely recommend this place for any occasion. -

Tip: Make reservations ahead of time! This place makes me smile....not just for the quality of the drinks but for the decor, the service, the musical entertainment... the entire package. Its quite exquisite. The second you walk through the front doors youre taken into a whole new world of lavishness so please dress accordingly! My eyes lit up by its detail and the bustling of a Saturday night. They have a very extensive cocktail/mix drink/liquor list so be prepared to either comb through the pages or know exactly what you like. Drinks are around $15-16 which isnt too off base with other similar establishments. Overall, a wonderful and memorable evening and I cant wait to go back. -

Love this place! Best Whiskey bar in NYC! They have a super swanky feeling downstairs with live jazz bands most nights. Upstairs feels like game of thrones with giant tables. This is an excellent place to celebrate a special occasion or gather the whole crew. It is expensive, but it is a worthwhile night out that will be remembered! Full menu of any spirits you can possibly imagine. And they do whiskey tastings! -

Exactly what I was looking for with a dark, but cozy jazz bar. The music is good. You can talk away all you like. It is beneficial to make a reservation ahead of time BUT they do always have a little room for walkins at the bar and a standing bar. There is a 2 drink minimum but there bartenders are class and make proper drinks very well. -

It has a cool vibe. Nice music. Huge list of whiskey, scotch - just massive. It makes a classy date spot. The food was good much better than average. A few elements fell short. Small things like a bread pudding that was slightly too dense, or not quite enough cream in the au gratin.Come thirsty. Plan for some potentially expensive and exclusive drinking. They do have whiskey flights... -

Jazz, whiskey and sundry spirits is really all you need. Great venue albeit small and intimate and therefore runs risk of crowding. -

Hugo is the best bartender in the city. Flatiron nomad has one of the best cocktails in town - Blackberry Gimlet!! -

Flatiron Room is pricey but worth it since you can make reservations (so its usually not overcrowded), drink yummy cocktails, and enjoy great jazz music. The vibe is classy and makes you want to be all dressed up. The food wasnt bad but I prefer the drinks there! -

Good food. Great cocktails. Accommodating staff (we didnt have reservations and they got us in to a table for a while before they needed it for a later party... Unusual classy service). Awesome jazz.
