Wow, can I give more than 5 stars? The food: wonderful. The service: excellent. Actually I wanna shout out our amazing waitress. We got to learn about what exactly happens in the winter. The whole crew gets on the boat and parties all night while the ship is hauled to Massachusetts! Then they all get to sleep over in a mansion and fly back on a private jet. Sounds like a great time. The oysters were such an aphrodisiac that my gay and lesbian friends went at it like two seals in heat. Pictures below.Other than that, a great night with family!

I recently dined at Grand Banks for my birthday dinner and it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is located on a boat docked in the Hudson River, offering stunning views of the city skyline. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or a special date night. The oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and we loved Pink Moon the most. I also tried their sea scallops, which was one of the best Ive ever had. The Paloma were expertly crafted and the wine list was impressive. The service was attentive and friendly, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, I highly recommend Grand Banks to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in NYC.

I loved this place. The view is amazing definitely make sure you come at sunset. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. Make sure to get the hash brown caviar I would go back just for that. I cant wait to come back definitely a romantic time.

  • Review 4 (2024-08-09 - Rating: 5)

Took my son (11) and husband at sunset dinner. The views were incredible! The vibe is very welcoming and relaxed. Service was attentive and friendly. One of the best cocktails I have had in a while. Had the lobster rolls and my son had two orders of the meatballs, he loved those meatballs. The lobster rolls and fries were also excellent, I loved the garlicky aoli for the fries. The oysters were also delicious, very fresh. It is more of a place for adults but older kids will enjoy it as well for the view. A great place to get a drink on a date I am betting.

  • Review 5 (2024-09-09 - Rating: 5)

Amazing outdoor experience with beautiful NYC views on a restored fishing boat! Service was exceptional, friendly and very informative. Plating was neat, meticulously placed and elegant. The Pink Moon oysters were decadently delicious, brimming with buttery briney delightfullness. The Burrata and beet salad was refreshing, bright and tantilizing on the palate with crisp beets and a perfect stracciatella oozing, not pooring, out of nicely salted burrata all kissed by an exceptional aromatic chive EVOO.Polpette were moist and seasoned with a well balanced mosaic of spices and salts. The tomato compote was fresh, thick and savory, though with the abundance of it, would have certainly justified an extra serving of slightly thicker garlic toast in the future. The stealhead trout was buttery with an amazing crisp to its skin, and a dill coulis that was a perfect accompaniment with just enough dill that still allowed the trout to be the star of the dish.Wonderful execution of a delightful Sunday meal.

Had an unforgettable romantic evening by the Hudson River near Pier 25. The restaurant was the perfect getaway with a breathtaking view. Sitting on a boat while enjoying our meal made the experience even more special. We absolutely loved the oysters, champagne, lobster rolls, and the incredible cocktails. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic night out, and we cherished every moment. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a magical dining experience in NYC!For more pictures and information checkout IG 📸 : @adventureofourlifetime

Amazing location - went there for late lunch. Had a few drinks as well as oysters and the xl shrimps, the taste and quality was outstanding. Staff was super attentative and friendly too. It´s not cheap, but definitely worth it, because of the quality and location.

  • Review 8 (2024-06-04 - Rating: 5)

A perfect place for a nice lunch, or a great drink. We sat at the bar and Marie was amazing from start to finish. Always so attentive and such a nice person. The ship is a little rocky because of the waves, so if that’s not your thing, I don’t recommend. But it’s such a great vibe, 5 stars!!!!!

  • Review 9 (2024-09-12 - Rating: 5)

Dishes were good but basic w limited menu. BUT, the beautiful boat and unique location makes this one of the best places to dine in NYC

  • Review 10 (2024-10-12 - Rating: 4)

The food was great, the views were phenomenal, the ocean breeze was refreshing but most of the items we wanted from their menu were out of stock. The servers were not attentive and the food took long.

  • Review 11 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 5)

Boat restaurant on Hudson River in lower Manhattan. The view is great, oysters are delicious. A cute spot for brunch or afternoon drinks and snacks.

  • Review 12 (2023-08-04 - Rating: 5)

I brought my husband here for his birthday on a Sunday afternoon. I reserved seats at the bar. Keep in mind not all areas of the boat are under shade so be aware that you may need to wear your strongest spf. The boat is beautiful and our server was great. We really enjoyed each dish. We got oysters and the cocktail shrimp, it was all divine. For our entrees we ordered the scallops and the Steelhead. Both were delicious but my favorite was the Steelhead trout. I’d recommend this restaurant not only does it have a nice ambiance but the food is pretty great if you like seafood.

  • Review 13 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 5)

Fantástico!! ask for a seat towards the front of the boat. It’s a little quieter. The Crudo was amazing the caviar hashbrowns well worth it. The tomato watermelon salad was good but missing something all the other dishes that passed by looked phenomenal. Must try again.

  • Review 14 (2023-06-30 - Rating: 5)

Nothing short of excellence. I surprised my hubby for a date night and we had an amazing time. He ordered the scallops and I did the caviar service. We also shared a dozen oysters, half east & west coast. Had a couple of drinks as well. It is pricey but worth every penny. The hospitality is also great. Highly recommend for a nice ambiance, cool breeze and dope pics.

  • Review 15 (2024-11-11 - Rating: 5)

The food here is only rivaled by the atmosphere! If you’re looking for a romantic spot or just a fun place to go with friends I can’t recommend Grand Banks highly enough!

  • Review 16 (2024-05-10 - Rating: 4)

This is unique place! In summer it’s a perfect open restaurant front of the Hudson River… it’s an oyster bar … but, definitely average oysters, doesn’t was a top notch oysters for the price, the bartender was hilarious, but overall the customer service needs to be improved!

  • Review 17 (2024-07-30 - Rating: 5)

Unique and flavorful lobster roll, yummy cesar salad and warm crisp salted fries! amazing views too

  • Review 18 (2024-08-14 - Rating: 5)

I had the best server when I came in with a group of friends! Sky was so on top of everything. We could see that the kitchen was extremely backed up and when Sky came over to address the wait for the food she made us feel as though she genuinely cared about our experience and was able to turn our moods around with her fun loving energy and sense of humor! I’ve never had a server able to connect with a group so quickly and effortlessly! She knew exactly what to say and was very helpful and honest when we were picking our food and drinks! I will be coming back mainly just to see Sky again!! So fun!

  • Review 19 (2024-05-25 - Rating: 5)

Had the most amazing experience. Alexa was the best server. So friendly and timely. I will return many times and always ask for her!

  • Review 20 (2024-09-06 - Rating: 5)

We waited a long time for food but the setting made up for it. Everything was delicious and it was a beautiful evening which definitely added an extra shine to the experience.Slightly more than we guessed price-wise. The food isn’t unique but it is fresh and tastes great. Don’t go if you’re prone to sea sickness. On paper it should be 4 stars but I had such a special night with my friends. Cap that with delicious food and drink on a beautiful evening… none of the rest matters.

  • Review 21 (2021-09-10 - Rating: 5)

Awesome boat brunch, very unique! We could see the statue of liberty along with beautiful water and city views. Food was delicious, drinks were great, staff was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey, but worth the experience! We shared oysters and the lobster roll which they cut in half for us.

  • Review 22 (2023-08-09 - Rating: 5)

Wanna drink on a boat and call yourself a booshie pirate without going to sea? This is the place for you. Drinks were great, the oysters were fantastic, and the view was perfect (lucky with a beautiful day). Can’t beat a weekend afternoon sipping under a sail.**note some people may get sea sick so be prepared!

  • Review 23 (2023-07-06 - Rating: 5)

What an experience! On a beautiful day in NYC, spending your time with a great team and great food is for “YES” for me. My girlfriend, friends and I had a great experience overall and will definitely go again.Helpful Tip: If you are sensitive to motion sickness, I recommend doing a table and not the “Oyster Bar”.Cocktails: Tropicalia-    What a refreshing and tasty drink to have to compliment your experience.Dish:-    The Lobster Rolls & French Fries is a must to item to enjoy. Thanks to the Grand Banks team for their great service.

  • Review 24 (2024-11-28 - Rating: 5)

Love this place. Amazing atmosphere and views. Amazing selection of oysters.

  • Review 25 (2022-06-12 - Rating: 5)

This is a really fantastic place for a special occasion, or just if youre in the mood for some great oysters and a meal with a view. You cant beat the ambience of being on a boat, especially if its a beautiful day out. We sat at the oyster bar and watched them shuck the oysters which was a treat, but the oysters themselves were fantastic. Next time Ill definitely get the menu option of trying all the oysters. We also got the watermelon salad, which was excellent, and the lobster roll. Ive had subpar lobster rolls before, and as someone from New England can be pretty picky, but this one was great. Nice buttery toast, great tasting lobster. The cocktails were excellent as well - I had the Skipper Key, which was nice, sweet, and refreshing, but my sister got the Mariner which was really something unique and Id definitely recommend.Overall, a great experience, great food, and Id happily come back on a nice summer day.

  • Review 26 (2024-08-06 - Rating: 5)

Have loved this spot for years for fresh gorgeous seafood. Went on a special date last week, and still doesn’t disappoint!

  • Review 27 (2021-11-21 - Rating: 5)

Grand Banks was a phenomenal experience! Overlooking NYC, the views are stunning and you can expect a fresh ocean breeze. The menu is split into brunch and all-day. A wide range of oysters are offered from Long Island to British Columbia, depending on your preference for salt and brine. We tried the avocado toast & poached eggs and grits & Andouille. The food was fresh and bursting with flavor. While the drink menu was not expansive it was well crafted. The service was top notch and really made the dining experience exceptional! Book in advance, this place is always busy.

  • Review 28 (2022-08-28 - Rating: 4)

Really convenient location for dinner and drinks. Some really cool bars on the pier to check out before/after dinner.First impressions: I was surprised how much the boat moved while docked at the pier. It took some getting used to at first but after a few drinks I really didn’t notice it. The cocktails were really well made and refreshingly high quality for the price. Really great vibes for a date spot if boats/oysters are your thing.I liked the lobster roll but to be honest the side salad was incredibly boring. For $35 I expect them to put minimal effort into a side for this dish.Other than that, my friends and I enjoyed our meal and the oysters were very solid.

  • Review 29 (2022-05-02 - Rating: 5)

We enjoyed picturesque views and a fantastic dining experience.Grand Banks hits every mark and makes it look easy.Oysters: maybe the best Ive had in NYC.Mains: we had the steelhead trout and lobster roll. Both were exquisitely prepared. We also had the meatballs as an appetizer; they were phenomenal.Crew (servers/reception): Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly and eager to help us have a great night.Atmosphere: fantastic - its a sailboat with some of the best sunset views in the city.We cant wait to go back!

  • Review 30 (2024-09-29 - Rating: 5)

What an amazing dining experience in Grand Banks! Amazing food amazing atmosphere! This is one of my favorite restaurants!

  • Review 31 (2024-09-29 - Rating: 4)

Seated and waited for more than 15 minutes without getting any servers. Later our waitress apologized for not being acknowledged our table. Great views and atmosphere. Foods were great and delicious. Unfortunately cocktails and beverages were not great for the price. Oysters were not too bad either.

  • Review 32 (2021-09-02 - Rating: 5)

Amazing views and the food was also great! We went on a cloudy day for brunch so our view could’ve been better, but not their fault. The permanent vacation drink was soo good. I’m still thinking about it. Would highly recommend eating here during sunset, but make sure you make reservations way in advance.

  • Review 33 (2021-09-07 - Rating: 4)

The boat has a great view and its a fantastic ideal to have an oyster bar and cocktail bar on the deck. Personally I was not used to the fact that this stationary boat rocks back and forth. I was not drunk but whenever I was walking it felt and looked that way. The food and drinks fit the fun outdoor boat venue. They are pricy.

  • Review 34 (2022-09-22 - Rating: 5)

My last night in New York and my craving for oysters lead me here. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dinning experience. The service was phenomenal (Katherine is a gem, her bright personality really left an impression on me). The whole staff seemed to work and flow together well and it made the environment that much more inviting.I started with the Montauk Pearl oysters and the Tropicalia, a vodka based cocktail with watermelon, lime, and cucumber. Both hit the spot and were just what I needed to cure my hankering. I decided to stay a bit longer which called for another drink, and well, the lobster roll, because at this point I was all in. I’m glad I didn’t hold back! Everything was delicious. It was a beautiful day and a lovely meal! Thank you to the staff for heaps of kindness and providing folks with a memorable experience 🌟

  • Review 35 (2022-07-23 - Rating: 5)

Try to book this place a day or two in advance! We pulled up for their weekend brunch service. The service was courteous, professional, and bilingual. We ordered the Tropicalia and Revolución cocktails to start off and both were strong and refreshing. The ceviche we ordered here was the best Ive ever tasted, it was not fishy at all and the soup base was so good you could drink it on its own. Truly a memorable dish. We were on a boat, so of course we had to order the Lobster Roll, and it truly was an exceptional lobster roll (the only thing missing was lemon but they provided that of course!). The French toast uses a raisin bread which worried me at first but its actually perfect and really compliments their berry compote.

  • Review 36 (2023-10-14 - Rating: 5)

Came with my family and we all loved it 😋we also ordered raw oysters 🦪 and couple more other things. The service was quick and delicious food.Would love to come back again 😋

  • Review 37 (2023-08-15 - Rating: 5)

This place passed my expectation, the food and drinks was great and our hostess absolutely phenomenal. We had such a good time i accidentally drop the fork into to river, I guess that fork is swimming with the fishes for now. Most go place.👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍

  • Review 38 (2022-06-25 - Rating: 4)

The location of course is special and memorable — including the views, being in a school old boat and the pier and surrounding area. The food is better than I figured it would be — more gourmet than expected. That said, you pay for that location, so you may want to know that the boat rocks when there are waves and I’m sure some people may find that uncomfortable. If that doesn’t bother you (it didn’t bother us) then plan ahead to get in a round of mini-golf at the same pier while you are there to make the most of your trip. Enjoy!

  • Review 39 (2023-09-20 - Rating: 5)

Perfect for sunset and they give you blankets when it gets cold. The star of the show was definitely the key lime crumble berry mousse

  • Review 40 (2023-07-26 - Rating: 5)

If you’re looking for a fun brunch spot, look no further! The oysters were amazing(I recommend the west coast) and the atmosphere was great. We were worried about getting sea sick, but that didn’t happen.Definitely recommend Grand Banks if you’re looking for delicious food and a different change of scenery

  • Review 41 (2018-09-24 - Rating: 4)

This is a Great spot to chill relax with a drink 🥃 & light food, fish , lobster, oysters & salad. The prices are what you would expect for being on a boat in Downtown NYC $$-$$$. The location is prime docking real estate downtown NYC Tribeca Hudson Bay near pier 25. This location Has Great views of the NY harbor, Statue of Liberty 🗽& Hudson bay. Just remember you are on a large older wooden sail boat, even though it is docked it does bounce around a bit so if eating or drinking on a boat makes you a little nauseous it may not be for you. But I love that type of atmosphere, the light waves are soothing and you get a nice breeze off the water, although July & August can get uncomfortably hot in the daytime hours. There is a shade canopy but does not cover the entire boat. This restaurant is also only open seasonally so opens end of May to end of October. Hours from noon to midnight. Also, be smart about your timing because it is a unique spot it gets really busy especially evening weekend hours and you may get rushed with your meal. I like to go either during early lunch or late lunch hours between lunch & dinner, to try and dodge the crowded busy hours. But if you go on a not so busy early evening the sunsets 🌅 are beautiful. Relax have a🍸 drink🍹They have nice summer cocktails. I have also had a nice time communicating with the staff, nice & hospitable for the most part.

  • Review 42 (2020-07-13 - Rating: 4)

Several things to love about this place and reasons to recommend it as your new summer social distancing hangout spot — 1) it’s all outdoors so it’s easy to social distance and be safe, and tables are more spaced out now which actually makes it a far more enjoyable place (not loud or annoyingly crowded). 2) the staff are SO pleasant and helpful. 3) the “Permanent Vacation” cocktail, truly perfect drink while you’re on a boat. 4) the lobster rolls are pricey at $30 but worth it because they actually give you a good amount of lobster. 5) they take reservations! We had a big group on a holiday weekend so made a reservation many weeks out but other times may be easier to reserve. 6) they give the proceeds on water/sparkling water ($1 unlimited refills bottle per individual) to Charity:water non profit! The only downside is you have to order through a QR code scanning via your phone that uses Toast app, and Toast doesn’t save your credit card info so you have to re-enter it every single time you order a new drink or food item for yourself. Also very limited options for vegetarians/non seafood eaters— only 1 veggie salad and fries. But it’s a boat, so you can’t really fault that too much.

  • Review 43 (2022-08-13 - Rating: 5)

We just watched the full moon rise over the New York skyline! I kept saying, I feel like I’m in a movie. The ambiance is so next level. The service was impeccable and the views were perfection. Now let’s talk food.We had several dozen oysters and chatting with the chef/shucker Jabria (apologies if I’m spelling that incorrectly) was a highlight. The caviar service was something I’ll dream about in coming months. The watermelon and tomato salad was simple and divine. I’m so filled with gratitude right now. The lobster roll was not my favorite lobster roll but it was still fresh and tasty.Straight 14/10 recommend this seasonal restaurant. Definitely a must do if in New York between April and November when they are open.Note - caution on the staircase to the restrooms, it’s a doozy.

  • Review 44 (2018-05-22 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic drinks and charismatic vibes. I went on a sunday at sunset, so the boat was quite packed, despite that we had no trouble finding a seat at the bar. The bartenders were lovely and very efficient at making our drinks, which if youve ever been to a packed bar in NYC, you know that getting a drink at a busy bar can be a hassle. The cocktails were great and they had a good selection of beers. The crowd was lively and we spent the evening chatting with random people. Not to mention the amazing views and gorgeous sunset. Definitely a place to go to when the weather is good. Great drinks, gorgeous views, and you never have to sail away.

  • Review 45 (2023-05-29 - Rating: 5)

If you want to feel in the Caribbean while in the city.. this is the place! I have to say that the food is not the best…besides the fries❤️😋 but the staff is the best, specially Roberto the bartender and also Daniel. Who made the BEST spring/summer drinks for me and my friend. I’d recommend this place to everyone who want to have a cocktail/beach experience in NYC.

Amazing location for a beautiful summer evening. Cocktails were delicious. Really enjoyed the spectacular views. Will return!

  • Review 48 (2021-08-14 - Rating: 5)

A place to romanticize about! The food and the service were excellent. As a starter, we ordered a tasty ceviche and the tomato and watermelon (the watermelon wasn’t fresh enough and I would’ve loved to add some feta to this plate). As the main course, the steelhead and the three-bean ragout, a very interesting and tasty vegetarian choice. I am not vegetarian and this dish definitely caught my interest. The burrata, parmesan, and tomato made the three-bean ragout very flavorful, would order it again! Great picks of dishes for the hot summer days.I’ve been here twice and enjoyed it very much! I loved experiencing the sunset. Will come back.

  • Review 49 (2024-07-31 - Rating: 5)

Our server went above and beyond to ensure our experience was top notch. She was very knowledgeable on the topic of seafood and had excellent recommendations!. I can’t believe we got to watch her dive into the Hudson and hunt our meal. Will be returning . Thank you Ada !

  • Review 50 (2019-05-19 - Rating: 4)

This place is really cool being on a boat, with a great view and all. The oysters were delicious, the lobster roll nothing special. I did not like the cocktails though. We’ve tried 4 different ones on the menu, but they were either too bitter or too sweet. Would try the wines instead next time.

  • Review 51 (2023-05-12 - Rating: 5)

Really cool spot for a drink and some seafood. Especially if you enjoy raw oysters. Make sure you’re comfortable being on a boat though.

  • Review 52 (2023-06-23 - Rating: 5)

Grand Banks is a great place to visit [if you are in NYC] after work or on a date. Take advantage of the beautiful sunset over the east Hudson River and the great ambiance of the boat while having some drinks and apps. Making a reservation is highly recommended; they are so busy during the early afternoon in Summer. Grand Banks, Pier 25, NYC — Dont miss it.

  • Review 53 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 5)

We had the most gorgeous visit to Grand Banks! Im so grateful for an unforgettable dining experience. Paddy was a fantastic server- funny, fun and attentive. After a delay in our booking, the manager, E, was so apologetic and made us feel so comfortable, heard, and seen. We have had reservation for 2 months in the making and it did not disappoint!! Highly recommend this place for a fun new york experience right Hudson, twinkle lights, a gorgeous boat and a scenic view downtown lights made this restaurant an unforgettable experience! Do yourself a favor and make sure you check this off your new york bucket list

  • Review 54 (2018-05-18 - Rating: 5)

This eco-friendly gem is an amazing escape from the concrete jungle. It’s not a very terribly large ship so it will be a little bit of a wavy experience. The staff is wonderful! The drinks are summery and refreshing, and the views are fantastic! They are completely paperless so credit/debit ONLY. Keeping with the environment-friendly atmosphere they also use metal straws, which is so cool. Definitely a can’t-miss spot to hit during the summer.

  • Review 55 (2023-04-28 - Rating: 5)

Food was good Premium service .The staff was super nice . If you want a summer vibe on boat I highly recommend Grand bank. Will deform come back again in Summer .

  • Review 56 (2020-10-17 - Rating: 4)

A quality New York experience. Seating on the boat is limited so book in advance otherwise you can settle for a set on the pier alongside the boat. The pier-side seating is still lovely! The oyster and fries were the highlights.

  • Review 57 (2023-08-29 - Rating: 5)

I have celiac and the menu was super clearly labeled with gluten and wheat allergy. The server was super attentive in ensuring everything was gluten free! Delicious and healthy portion of lobster salad and oysters. The fries are even in a dedicated fryer!

Lovely atmosphere, great service, unique location on a docked boat on the Hudson River with the Manhattan background. Oysters are yummy and its fun to see them shucked right in front of you at the otster

  • Review 59 (2021-05-17 - Rating: 5)

Yummy food and great service. A bit pricey and reservations are definitely a must. You have the option of an outdoor table or the captain’s room, which we got. The soft shell crab and lobster rolls were really good. I’d like to go back at sunset

BEST nyc experience hands down!!! If you’re looking for the perfect ending to your New York holiday look no further than a gorgeous boat docked on the water with stunning views of jersey and downtown. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was a good experience over all (but hot!). Oyster starters took a bit to come out, but were fresh. Plates are a bit small, but my lobster roll was the most plentiful of all our entrees.

  • Review 63 (2024-09-10 - Rating: 5)

We truly adore this venue! Located by the water, it offers a variety of options for both brunch and dinner. The atmosphere is consistently vibrant, and the food is exceptional.

  • Review 64 (2023-06-10 - Rating: 5)

Amazing staff, our waitress Jessie was so great and the food was actually delicious for such a popular spot. Will definitely return !

  • Review 65 (2021-05-25 - Rating: 4)

Great location with nice views. The service is excellent. You have to make a reservation online and pay a $35 deposit per person, and they will hold your table/seat for 90 minutes. You arrive at whatever time slot you choose and you do not have to notify them if you are running late. They will let you know when your time slot is coming to an end so you can place last drinks. Highly recommend oysters and lobster roll.I gave this place 4 stars, because they charge a 10% COVID surcharge, which they say is a COVID-19 Recovery Charge on each check to cover pandemic related costs. This is in addition to taxes, and a 20% tip. It would be nice if the customers are notified about it ahead of time. This was the only place that charged us for this in the city... very odd, given the NYC is providing covid relief and support to businesses.

Fantastic Hudson river on-water experience in old sailing boat. But lack of proper shade made it impossible to say long. If you go, insist on a starboard table!

  • Review 67 (2022-04-23 - Rating: 5)

Excellent spot for drinks on a nice day. I’d recommend the skipper key drink and caviar hash app to share. Keep in mind your reservation is timed/limited to accommodate more guests. They are dog friendly. No parking really but located down the left hand side of pier 25.

  • Review 68 (2022-06-19 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely delicious, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys life (take drinks with friends in a wonderful place 🤩😍)The oyster and shrimp were fresh and flavorful. To top that off, the staff was incredibly friendly.

Being on a boat under a striped yellow awning with the sun shining, an Aperol Spritz in my left hand and some french fries in my right hand while the Freedom Tower and Lady Liberty watch in the background was a spiritual experience. IM ON A BOAT! EVERYBODY LOOK AT ME CUZ IM SAILING ON A BOAT!I was in the linen obviously, as if a vibe ever called for 3 buttons of a linen shirt buttoned with the sleeves rolled up, this was it.When we walked on and initially sat down, the boat was ROCKIN. I was lowkey starting to get a little seasick, so if youre sensitive to that make sure you keep your head on a swivel. I was fighting for my life for a sec, but halfway through my first spritz I didnt feel it anymore. 90% of the game is mental...Cocktails and fries have become a simple pleasure of mine, and one of the main food groups in my personal food pyramid. Both were fantastic here, they know how to make a drink. After having such a blissful experience, I felt something in my back. I asked the waitress to check it and she pulled out this huge knife that was engraved with the phrase We charge for tap water here. They call it charity water which is just a blatant slap in the face. Its like she took the knife out my back and cut my throat with it smh. Nasty work.Ig @jnov_Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Went to this restaurant on a warm summer evening. Food was delicious, staff was friendly and courteous and very helpful. Ambience was spectacular and the vibe was great. Drink were ok as well. If youre visiting later in the night bring something a bit warm if you get cold easy, the sea breeze will start to feel chilly. Overall, it was a lovely experience and my wife and I enjoyed it. Also, try the hash brown caviar. Thank me later

  • Review 77 (2024-05-15 - Rating: 5)

Had such a wonderful time enjoying oysters and drinks on the boat. And what an amazing view! Highly recommend the oysters champagne. Youll definitely want to make a reservation ahead of time. For the best views, in my opinion, book the table seating. The bar is in the center so views can be a little obstructed. But really not a bad seat anywhere on the boat.

Hello. I went to this restaurant with my fiancée & brother, and we enjoyed the food here including the lobster, and the slices of American Ood Cheese that they put over my sandwich. My brother, Lianaxh enjoyed the weather and their meatballs, and quoted, I love the horizon of the city skyline and these meatballs are damn gOOD. I would recommend this restaurant to every fellow friend.

  • Review 79 (2021-09-07 - Rating: 5)

This place was unique and the food was fantastic. We didnt have a reservation and they were able to accommodate us anyway. We had oysters (to die for!), ceviche, and the soft crab. All of it was so good, I couldve come back day after day and not get tired of the food. The most unique part is that its on a sail boat next to the pier, and being from an inland state, this was quite an experience. 100% recommend this place!

  • Review 80 (2018-06-17 - Rating: 5)

Unique seasonal space to enjoy a beautiful day. The food is just ok but the ambiance and the scene cant be beat. Awesome cocktail menu. Brunch was very good too. Youre on an old oyster ship eating oysters, drinking Rose. What could be better???

  • Review 81 (2020-08-14 - Rating: 4)

Beautiful views on the boat. Slight rocking back and forth of the boat. A bit pricey for most food items and drinks. Best to make reservations ahead of time if your aim is to seat on the actual boat and not on the side deck

  • Review 82 (2021-11-28 - Rating: 5)

It’s worth it even just for the location. We came the last day they were open for the season so it was a bit cold. The lobster rolls and fries are delicious. Definitely recommend!!

Unique in New York City is an understatement, however Grand Banks definitely delivers, especially at dusk. The bar section is definitely key for that unique NYC tale for years to come, regardless of any age or generation. Did I mention raw bar raw bar with fantastic drinks to compliment. West Coast Kumamoto oysters do not disappoint.

Great brunch spot! I sat at the bar and enjoyed some oysters. The man who prepared them for us was absolutely delightful and helped educate me and my friends on different types of oysters. Note that, if you get motion sick, you should take something before because the boat definitely rocks.

  • Review 88 (2017-11-01 - Rating: 5)

Best lobster roll Ive had. There were HUGE chunks of lobster, but expect to pay for that. I especially love this place because its on an old sailboat on the Hudson. Hint - make a reservation.

If you dont mind a bit of rocking on a boat, definitely try Grand Banks for drinks and oysters. It does get crowded and theres not much else in the area unless youre up for a 10-15min walk into Tribeca.

Can’t beat the atmosphere of a schooner on the Hudson at sunset. 4 of us had drinks and apps. One of the apps was a watermelon/tomato salad which was refreshing and delicious. The shrimp cocktail was fine although not the best I’ve ever had. I had a Negroni and everyone else had cocktails off the menu and everyone enjoyed them. We all sat at the bar and the bartender was professional and personable. The ambiance, the service, the drinks, and the food all very good. Great place for a special occasion or date.Highly recommended.

Overall this is a great water dining experience with delish seafood and stunning view all on a docked sailboat!Indulge in the delectable lobster roll, featuring succulent lobster meat ensconced within a buttery, toasted bun bursting with rich flavor. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. The restaurant exudes a charming Caribbean ambiance, complemented by a captivating waterfront vista that elevates the overall atmosphere.

  • Review 99 (2023-09-08 - Rating: 4)

First of all, I will start with the pros: if you want to have a great view, then the view is spectacular especially if you are seated anywhere except on the right side of the boat. The food is great and the waiter was nice and friendly. The lobster salad and the oysters champagne were amazing. The drinks were refreshing but average. The cons: We encountered a minor inconvenience which was resolved at the end. When we arrived on time to our reservation, we were asked to wait on the side, 3 groups and one couple arrived after us and they took them in to be seated before us which was a little bit off. After they took us to the table which was the first table to the right side of the boat where there was no view at all, we asked them to switch the table, they said that the tables are assigned beforehand and if a table leaves then they can switch us. We waited and then our waitress came, apologizing she cannot do anything. I had to speak with the manager and we got switch to the front of the boat with the best seats and we were extremely satisfied.Final words, I actually loved this place. The experience itself was positive after it was resolved by the manager and I highly recommend checking this place out.

  • Review 100 (2024-04-16 - Rating: 4)

The experience overall was nice and the weather made it more wonderful. The food and beverages are great and appreciate the staff who made this happen on waves of the water. However, the entree choices are limited, mostly seafood. The space is tight and if you are not good with having food on a boat then maybe it is not a choice for you. In the end, I got a bit dizzy and uncomfortable.

  • Review 101 (2024-07-13 - Rating: 4)

Come over for a great atmosphere swaying back and forth on the waves of the Hudson. We were really pleased to see the love and care that is evidently put into this vessel. Though we didn’t try the food, it surely looked great. Cocktails were nice and tho we do understand a spot with this type of operation in this location comes with elevated prices, the cocktails were not (in our opinion) worthy of their price tags. Again, come over, this boat is a beautiful experience!

  • Review 113 (2024-08-15 - Rating: 4)

Location location! It’s a bit touristic but people from out of town will love it. Good oysters and salads, small portions. Super quick service. The music was a bit loud for brunch to have conversations but overall great atmosphere. Be mindful not to put items on the floor close to the edge of the ship as there are openings and things can fall in the water!

Cool experience dining on a boat, with a great view. If you get seasick/motion sickness... it might be a bit tough because the boat does rock. The food was okay, not bad, just simple seafood dishes, oyster variety was great, fresh! We had different types of easy coast oysters and they were all delicious! Waiter was great! Overall a good experience! Its really nice at night with the lit up boat against the Hudson & Jersey backdrop.

  • Review 122 (2023-07-01 - Rating: 4)

A Caribbean getaway in downtown Manhattan. We dined here last night and it was an overall good experience. The views are amazing from this restaurant that’s actually on a boat. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. Great ambiance with Caribbean vibes and music mix. Oysters were delicious and so were the cocktails. We were able to get a rum punch custom made and it was amazing. You will spend a bit more given the location and overall experience. Portions are on the smaller side in my opinion so make sure you get some appetizers. Food is fresh and delish - especially the lobster roll and lobster salad. Everyone said the food was tasty given we all finished our food. It was an overall awesome experience and a great Friday evening. We will revisit some point in the future for appetizers abs cocktails.

One of my favourite dining experience anywhere. When you dine at Grand Banks, you are eating on a ship that is docked at the pier. The atmosphere is nautical and authentic. Grabbing oysters, seafood and drinks here is always a good time!

  • Review 128 (2023-08-02 - Rating: 4)

Came after work with my partner. Great views, food / drinks are decent, servers were nice. Not putting five stars because we asked for tap water, bill came and we were told we were given “charity donation water,” and that we’d have to have a manager remove it if we wanted to opt out. Not huge in the grand scheme of things, but was annoying to have it sprung on us and was a weird way to end an otherwise nice experience.

  • Review 129 (2023-11-04 - Rating: 4)

Absolutely love this spot! The oysters are fresh and the food is good. Great service. This is a bonus on top of the beautiful scenes of being on a boat in soho with stunning views of the buildings and water.

A retired sailing Scooner was competitive in the day. On the Hudson River, so great view of ships going by. Nice menu and good pour and friendly staff. Only negative, its pricey, but then again, its NYC.

  • Review 131 (2022-09-18 - Rating: 5)

No matter what, just on atmosphere alone, this restaurant deserves 5 stars. It’s on a boat parked in the harbor right in the Hudson River with a close up view of lower Manhattan and the World Trade Center. I am a jaded, long time, NYC diner and the view from this restaurant still continues to overwhelm and astound me. All the food is quite excellent. Portions are not huge so if you come hungry, order the extra item you are considering. The staff is super friendly and will do whatever they can to accommodate you. Last night I was surprised with the third guest and they really made me feel at home and not worried even though it was Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. Sure enough they found us a table and we enjoyed every minute! If you have not been here, hurry!! And if you are coming in from out of town, this is one of the top three restaurants in Manhattan to visit!

  • Review 132 (2023-06-02 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic outdoor special treat for lunch, dinner or cocktails on the water with stunning views of lower Manhattan, Jersey City and lady Liberty. Bloody Mary’s were perfect. Lobster Roll was delish with great side salad. Scallops with corn succotash was yummy and decent size portion. Didn’t get the fries but they looked great for sharing. Lots of full bottle purchase options to enjoy the afternoon with a few glasses of wine.

  • Review 135 (2023-09-11 - Rating: 5)

First time @ Grand Banks and it did not dissapoint. The staff was friendly and attentive, the ambiance just perfect. A sailboat located at the end of pier 25, which means you walk a little to get there but get rewarded with a fantastic view of NYC while the sounds of Bob Marley play in the background. Food was delicious, we had Oysters Champagne to start and for main course I had the Steelhead with my wife opting for the Lobster Salad, all deliciously prepared. Boat can rock a bit with the tide but we found it to just add to the experience, will definetely go back.

  • Review 136 (2023-07-24 - Rating: 5)

We have been there twiceWe discovered the Grand Banks at Pier 25 during our recent visit to the City. Its a great quite place to relax and enjoy cold drinks, cocktails and freshly prepared food. The view is breathtaking. You can enjoy a marvelous view: the Hudson River, One World, downtown Manhattan and of course Jersey City. The service team is very attentive and looking after you on a very professional way. I found out that even a team member from Switzerland is working at the bar. The manager is supporting and taking his time to talk to the guests and surprise them. I can really recommend this place.

Was there on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was windy and rocking a bit so be aware. The ship is not stabilised completely. Food was tasty and good options to choose. Mostly fish, dont expect meat. Location great for views. Can see statue of liberty from there.

  • Review 140 (2023-04-25 - Rating: 4)

I was a little sea sick (let’s say 30%) but overall the experience was good all due to the oysters, amazing fries and French toast and our wonderful waitress (forgive me for not remembering her name). The only reason I am submititng a 4 ⭐️ review is because of the drinks (3 drinks ordered one of which was virgin and all 3 were blah! Bitter and plain). Otherwise, great service, interesting experience and great bucket list restaurant!

What a nice place to have a date. For my family it was a short night out for exceptional experience on a boat to dine. As it was crowded with people we could only reserve a place at 22:00. Had already dinner so that we only went there for a platter of oysters. Oysters were fresh and tasted wonderful. Staff were kind. As we were dining on a boat u can imagine that the boat is moving along with the tide. We only stayed there for 40min as we were tired from all the walks around the beautiful Hudson River. Great place. Will come back with my wife.

  • Review 144 (2023-08-30 - Rating: 4)

Its a walk from the road but worth it. Went here just before the lunch rush and got myself a seat at the bar. Ordered a dozen oysters and the lobster rolls. Both were good and very tasty.Had a watermelon cocktail and that was amazing too.Service was great and servers very attentive. The only downside is coming here when the water is too choppy as the boat definitely rocks. So if you get seasick easily, take a motion sickness tablet before coming here.

Great spot for 4th of July or firework watching - had a great view of the 20 minute firework show across the Hudson river.Lobster roll was good ($34) and drinks are expensive (cocktails for $16 and over) but good. The bloody mary was good, but contains fish! Which is not written on the menu. My boyfriend has a fish allergy and ordered it so that was a problem. Not great service, kinda sassy/annoyed vibes.

Very nice place to dine in lower Manhattan on a beautiful late spring day! Conditions were perfect to sit on a boat and dine outside! It was a company lunch so we had multiple servings of various fresh oysters. There were also lobster wraps, soft shell crabs, ceviche along with two fine bottles of champagne and mixed drinks! I had the two soft shell crabs, which were delicious with a salad. Wait staff was courteous, facilities were very clean. Highly recommended for tourists or native New Yorkers. One of the best evenings I have had in NYC. The boat is beautifully rustic, with clean restrooms and bars. The boat sits right on the pier, and the views are amazing. Sunsets at this place are incomparable to anywhere in the city. I celebrated my anniversary here with my wife, and they made it exceptional. With so many overpriced venues in the city, i can honestly say the staff and restaurant itself are near perfect in what they are looking to provide for their guests.

Super fun lunch spot on the river! Food was yummy and great service! Only downside was that it was super hot and no fans, luckily we were in the shade, i dont know how others copied in the direct sunlight! We were at the bar which i didnt mind but was a bit tight for space, lots of people past by us!
