    Coolest place ever!!!! Came here on a quick weekend trip to the city with a friend based on a recommendation and it. did. not. disappoint. The bartender was super friendly and lovely to chat with; he helped us figure out what to order since we were new to the alcohol scene! Once the music started, things got really crowded but in the best way possible! The energy was high, piano player was a stud, and I didn’t want to leave. Drinks were a little pricey and I definitely recommend getting their early if you want a seat but I couldn’t think of a more fun way to spend a Friday night.

    What can I say??? Perfectly, quintessential New York institution. Such an amazing night. The pianist was absolutely brilliant and entertaining. We arrived very early, so I was able to capture the space empty. The history within Brandy’s walls…. I can only imagine. We’ll be back!!

    Our favorite piano bar ever. The best nights are where they play old classics, such a billy Joel, Elton John etc. Not a huge fan of the pop song nights.The service is incredible, every person who works here is a character of the best kind.Absolutely everyone needs to go at least once!!

    There’s no place like Brandy’s. Proposed to my now fiancée here and then hosted a surprise engagement party. Everything from the communication with the owner to the service from the staff and the bar’s quintessential New York charm, it turned out to be a magical evening. Also, the pianists and singers that come and perform…the best.

    I almost dont want to write this review in order to keep this place my little secret, but its too cool not to share, and makes me look like I always go to fun places and do hip things.My main man Phil and I swan in during the most crowded time and get a primo seat on the banquet by the pianist, like that continuous shot out of Good Fellas. Only without me having to flush cocaine down a toilet at the end of the night.The place is small and they pack in an eclectic crowd. Some older folks, some younger folks and some in the sweet spot of 40-something like myself. I knew every song that was played and thank God singing along is encouraged because boy did I ever!The sets are impressively long, with various bartenders and waitstaff taking a turn to sing. Everyone is crazy talented and its a pleasure to listen (sing) to them.The service is prompt and attentive with a decent pour. There were a surprising number of small groups of friends at the tables, so dont let the size of the place stop you. Youll get in even on a Saturday night during lovely I have to get out of my house! weather. If not, just come back later. Its a great way to end a night out. So much fun!

    I heard about this place from a friend and I decided to visit during my trip back to NYC. Be sure to get there early because it is absolutely packed when showtime starts. There is a 2 drink minimum per person which isn’t that awful considering there is no cover and great entertainment all night.If you’re a singer, you can also sign up to sing with the pianist accompanying you. The audience is also full of energy and so supportive so even if you’re just a “shower singer”, don’t fret. Go for it.

    Wonderful piano venue which we’ve taken many visitors to as part of the classic NY experience. Cosy atmosphere, great pianists and singing bar staff. Drinks are average at best but more than made up for by the music and incredible voices of the bar staff. It gets very busy on Fri and Sat, so if you don’t here there early you will likely have to queue and stand when you do get in.

    This is a very small establishment and seating is limited so you really do have to get there early! The bar staff were fun and kept the drinks flowing! Its a local hotspot, the crowd were friendly and we enjoyed socializing with New Yorkers. This is a place to enjoy the music and you can sing along but the management do not like you to chat amongst yourselves. We observed the management getting their security to reprimand some people at the bar for talking, and we did not think they were being loud at all. So its definitely more of a listen environment (nothing wrong with that) but important to note for your expectations before you take your group there.

    This might just be my favorite bar in New York City! The music is amazing and the vibes are incredible. It’s got a dive like and welcoming feel. This bar is always very crowded. You likely will not get a table unless you’re there before 9, but you might be able to snag a bar seat at later times. Don’t let the crowdedness deter you though - it is part of its charm! This bar is always a great time!!

    The best night out we have had in a while ! Went out with a group of couples last night (Friday night) was able to get seats near the piano, the pianist was AMAZING! Waitress Heidi was also great. Great service and she also sang some songs! The place is awesome if you are respectful. We were there to enjoy the talent of the musician who played our requests as long as we tipped which I totally agree with, (we tipped $2 per song request) we sang along and enjoyed the jokes and music of the artists, they dont love ppl that just sit there on their phones as its kind of rude since the place is so small, we had a ton of fun and the atmosphere is great highly recommended! Hidden gem !

    Fantastic musical setup, great performers in a cozy space. Do be prepared if youre sitting down that since the waiters are also performers you might have to end up waiting a considerable amount of time to get served.

    Electrifying atmosphere! Vibe galore! Super friendly and accomodating! Excellent vocal renditions on the part of the performers and appreciation on the part of the rest of us who at times sang along.Affordable, too: a great way to spend a Saturday night on your own or with your friends. I thoroughly recommend it as a neighborhood to place to make it your own.

    This is one the reasons I’d consider moving to NYC. Brandys is a spot where you can be social and be inspired - and it’s a great hangout for singers - I love the moments where someone quiets the crowd and the place feels super intimate for the moment.     Wonderful piano bar, even though the space is small, it gets warm with the environment of the people and I assure you you will have a lot of fun. I know its the upper east side, but, drinks over 10!! That is the only thing I would say... Well, I am a guy on a budget, so. But, aside of that, piano players are great, waitress great and overall the service is really good!

    I cannot really understand or fathom how anyone could give this place anything less than 5 stars. I saw 1 star reviews from people complaining about the size of the venue, or the tipping policy. Is the place small? Of course. Get over it, it’s Manhattan. Nothing they could do about it. Are they overly aggressive when it comes to tips? Absolutely, but I will explain why in a moment.The talent performing at this place is absolutely ridiculous. They’re literally former broadway performers, singing their hearts out every song and because the place is relatively small, the reverberations makes everything sound that much better. Our waitress, Lauren, was hilarious, friendly, and talented beyond understanding. As for the people who are complaining about the tipping policies, I can’t write how I feel about you without getting this review flagged. You’re literally getting Broadway performers singing to you for a fifth of the price you’d pay on Broadway! Our table personally tipped over 60% of our $60 bill, and we still felt we undertipped. Please, if you’re complaining about the tipping policy, just don’t go. Save some room for the rest of us who can truly appreciate this place.This will NOT be the last time I go. I could promise you that.Also, here’s a tip. Go really early, or really late to avoid the crowd and get a seat. We tried going at 11pm, and it didn’t happen. I am being told to get there before 9 for a show that starts at 9:30. We decided to go to another bar, then came back at around 1:00am. It worked out for us and we got a seat!

    My sister and I had so much fun! The singing was such a delight. They are your staff and your performers. This particular night a woman from New Zealand was their for a music festival and she sang and played. I wish I got her name she was wonderful! I definitely would recommend this panio bar the space is small but the talent is mighty. I gave it four stars because the drinks were ok.

    Such a fun place to hear great live piano playing and singing, and to even sing along! And Monday nights they have Piano Bar Live, which is such a hoot. You can watch it live on Facebook, but its even more fun to be there in person.

    Brandys has been a staple of the Upper East Side for approximately 35 years. I used to sing there back in the eighties and nineties. It is a very very fun bar, some very good entertainment; and the owner, Jimmy Lazar, is a prince of a human being. I recommend this bar very very highly.

    This place was so fun!! It’s super crowded so definitely need to arrive before 9:15pm if you want a table. It’s such a great experience, the piano and singing and everyone singing together. Again just so fun. For those that don’t know, at a certain point the staff starts playing the piano and the bar sing along. People are able to write down songs they want to hear on napkins with a dollar attached to it. Great fun and will be back!!!!

    A hidden gem on the Upper East Side; so many talented musicians/servers in this bunch. I love Saturdays with John Bronston, Lauren, Bobby, and Maria. Fun, silly, touching, and SO much talent! It’s like an interactive Broadway show with very chill vibes and drinks dive-bar style. Get here by 9-9:15 to get good seats on the weekend; piano starts at 9:30 and it fills up fast! One of the best unknowns in NYC!!! Don’t miss it!!!

    Amazing place, came here for a date and had such a great time. Everyone from the door guy to manager to waitress and piano player were super warm and welcoming and fun. FYI this place is participatory! So be prepared to be a part of it, and tip the piano player ;)

    This place is awesome. Random google search for live music brought me here and it exceeded my expectations for a good night out. Pianist was great, waitress started belting out showtunes and was acting as well which made it amazing. Great vibes from the other people in there along with the entertainment made it an awesome night. Great place for friends or a date. This was probably the most New York thing ive done. Random hole in the wall bar with old school vibes. Definitely recommend. Make sure to tip them!

    I dont recall being in this place. I do remember a fun dinner up on the East Side and an Uber ride down a residential street to a red canopy. After the car door opened there was certainly familiarity, good humour and the sheer joy of communing with others who seemed to be sharing my exact same frequency as I. There could have been music I cant say for certain.

    All around great (no frills) piano bar. Staff is friendly and incredibly talented, drinks are well priced. Get there early for a table. The music and the atmosphere will not disappoint. A NY must visit.

    Very fun night! Live music starts at 930 but you should get there earlier if you want good seating. How time fly’s when you’re having fun. Ended up spending over 3 hours here! The pianist was terrific and had a great voice. Everyone else who sang also sounded amazing. We didn’t know at the time but you can request songs by writing them down on a napkin!

    Great live music + delicious drinks is a recipe that Brandys puts out every night. Brandys Piano Bar features a pianist every evening and showcases the entire staffs incredible musical talents. I am particularly impressed with Joe Ardizzone, who can make a mean cocktail and belt out the best rendition of Hallelujah I have ever heard. Song requests are honored when possible, and patrons are invited to take the mic. The service is excellent and drink prices are reasonable, especially since theres no cover. Even so, my tab is generally on the high side as I stay for as long as I can. A great time, every time.

    As a customer of Brandys for the past eleven years, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite entertainment bars in Manhattan.Whenever I have friends or out of town guest in town, this is my go to spot ! Always great music and a fun night for all. Lauren and Joe are absolutely amazing! Love, love love Brandys.

    This place is AH-MAZING. Such a great time, and good grief the talent! Very interactive and just a downright great time. Best night in NY! There was a sign that said 2 drink min, but also a sign that said no dancing, against state law. Just some funny signs that match the hilarity of the staff and guests! Will be back when I visit NY again.

    A stranger on a plane shared this magic hole in the wall, and I will forever consider myself indebted. Brandys brings strangers together as friends for an evening of showtune magic. Prompt bar service quickly turns into a musical show down as the waitstaff take turns at the mic, belting broadway classics.
