The food was delicious! Im a fan of Colombian-style hot dogs with pineapple sauce, so I ordered one, and was the perfect choice. My husband loved his burger, and the fries were really good too. Excellent service, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Well definitely be coming back!

Such a great place! Laid back fun vibe, great friendly attentive staff and the Best spicy margarita in the city. Tacos are hit and miss but those steak lollipops definitely made up for it. I had FOMO seeing all of the other great food coming out of the kitchen. I will definitely be back when my boyfriend and I visit his brother and his family.

The Alcove is a go-to neighborhood favorite. Everything I’ve ever had here is delicious. Their Alcove fries are so good they almost make me cry. The challah grilled cheese is a favorite, and the burger is top notch. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly. I adore this place.

First off the server was super nice and the customer service was 10/10!!The lollipops were delicious.The meat wasn’t over cooked nor dry, & the chimichurri sauce was amazing.I had the alcove burger & I enjoyed every bite of it.The drinks were also amazing we ordered 2 different margaritas and both tasted splendid.I’m so happy I found this place because I’d def come back here!As per pricing I think it’s reasonable only because the food is delicious be expected to spent $120 for 2 people :)

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and even gave us rum chata shots to end the night! We had a few people show up late and they were very patient about it. The alcove is the absolute best. Never misses. It always feels like home. The food is outstanding, and it’s consistent every single time. The tilapia wrap with Chimichurri fries, the Alcoveritas, and the alcove burger are always incredible. Don’t sleep on the alcove!

The place lives up to its name and amazing ratings. Its nestled in a small place but the atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. We sat at the bar and had Christian and Eric take care of us and the service provided just made us want to stay longer. I highly recommend the Chimchurri wings to start, skirt steak lollipops to share, and the Alcove burger with truffle fries. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Theres a reason that this place has a nearly perfect online review record for both Yelp and Google. The super friendly, cozy, and casual environment combined with a killer food menu, Alcove is so much more than your average local watering hole. Starting with the booze, Alcove only serves beers from local breweries on tap, and the mixed drinks have always been delicious. The foods that weve ordered on this particular visit: the nachos (its finally officially on their menu), the alcove dog, and the new-ish chimichurri fries. Other favorites of ours include the alcove burger, the truffle fries, and the quinoa salad. Alcove is definitely a restaurant where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Parking can be quite annoying in Sunnyside, but its well worth the visit.

The funniest backstory as to how I found here lol. I was watching Full House one day, and I kept hearing the word “alcove” and I forgot what it meant so I looked it up. Ironically in Google searching, I found here. I mentioned it to my friend Alejandra and she said she was down to go. Perfect to me lol! Both of us had such an amazing time with Guil’s sarcasm and Joanna’s art on our drinks! What a beautiful night to unwind with tasty foods and drinks to match! Can’t wait to come back for sure! 🫶🏻

It’s well known for its tapas plates like the Chimichurri fries that were deliciously covered with parmesan cheese yet still had a crispy bite to them, the steak lollipops were covered with onions and savory greens, the quesadilla was filled with a thick white cheese and sprinkled with cilantro.

The service and the people working in this restaurant are top notch. By far the most friendly people I’ve come across. The restaurant is not that big, which is typical in NYC. The ambiance and the mood is very trendy and hipster like. Music was nice which added to the atmosphere of this place. We ended up ordering mojitos both the guava and passion fruit flavour. Both were amazing! We also ordered the lollipop, tacos, and the wings. By far the wings were the best. The tacos where not the best I had, but were fine. Should have suggested the waiter not to bring out all the apps at once, because the other dishes got cold. If ever in NYC and you feel like having Mexican food and you are in the area, then you should drop by.

The service and video of this place is great. If you want a chill, relax atmosphere and brine then come when they open. It does get a little loud when busy but overall an excellent spot. Excellent food, excellent service, and great selection of adult beverages!A very convenient way of reserving a table at this rather small place, where you can call 20 minutes before you arrive, and the kind staff will hold a table for you for about 10 minutes. Exactly what we did for a table of four for a Sunday late brunch.The place is tiny and while it has outdoor seating, its probably best for the same in summer. They have good cocktails and a good selection of beers on tap.We ordered coffees ($3), Grilled Cheese ($17) which lacked taste, Burrito Wrap ($17) which we ordered with Chimichurri truffle fries (extra $4) - which were absolutely delicious, a very tasty Portobello Burger ($15) which also felt light on the stomach, and Tacos (3 for $15) which were good.Service was good and food arrived within 20 minutes. Noise level was on the average side, and our server Joseph ensured that everything went smooth during our stay here for about an hour or so. Overall, a good experience, and we will certainly drop by again during summer!

Idk why this is called a “tapas bar”, it’s a great mix of classic American fare with dishes from across Latin America. Wonderful staff and great brunch! Casual dining and outdoor tables in warm weather. They have a bell for wheelchair users to ring so they can put out a ramp for entry.

Would go back for a quick bite and try thing we didn’t get to (we were disappointed, but understanding that some things weren’t being served 😕)

Nice and cozy place for a drink and some tapas. Came during Happy Hour by accident, which takes off about $2-3 off a select few items.We got tacos, wings, and some drinks. I think the carne asada taco and the steak tacos were the best (steak is not discounted for HH), but the wings were good too.Waitstaff were kind and attentive without being too attentive. We did have an issue where the HH discount didnt apply for one item, but they corrected it without any fuss.The place isnt great for large parties, but if you want a nice place to catch up with a friend, or a date, I think this spot is quite nice for that. Will definitely try to return sooner than later.

Meat and cheese board was solid, tacos were meh, and the meat lollipops were tough, but the chimichurri sauce was amazing! A bit of a hit and a miss, but definitely going back for the staff and the drinks. Additionally, the menu is pretty big and looks gorgeous, so Im hoping that either I just missed out on what theyre known for, or maybe they were having an off night in the kitchen! You have to try the chimichurri Parmesan truffle fries are prob some of the best fries I’ve had in 34 years. I can’t believe I was so impatient the past year and did not wait for a table. I realized why this place always has a crowd! I hope and prayer they make it through this awful time. Deblasio and cuomo single handedly pushed these restaurants to the breaking point. What an experience! You need to come here and have the Alcove Burger! It’s one of the best burgers in NYC. Perfectly cooked medium. The eggs and cheese went together so well. The bun was not overwhelming but the perfect amount. It’s easy to eat! My friend got the truffle fries and I should have! So don’t make the same mistake I did haha. the nachos with chicken were a perfect starter for our group of four.The atmosphere is something different. The staff is the most welcoming group of people. Staff is very friendly, drinks are good (especially the beer selection). Unfortunately I can not say the same thing for the kitchen. The food quality was not that good. We ordered a medium burger, which was beyond well done. I must say that the meat was delicious but it was not properly cooked. The smoked salmon bruschetta was delicious. Guaccamole was OK. I will definetely go again and give another chance to the kitchen (may be the day I visited was a bad day) I can easily see myself being a local if the kitchen would be better.

Great and attentive service! Food was good and I recommend the tacos. I wish the Steak lollipops were a bit more tender but the chimichurri sauce really made up for it. Ive never had a bad meal at The Alcove. All the ingredients are fresh and simple. The Cuban sandwich is to die for. An added bonus is the craft beer selection is unlike anything in the neighborhood. The owner makes sure that all the beers rotate as well so youll never get bored of the beer selection. The staff is super friendly and accommodating!

The ratings for this place are on point. Everything abt The Alcove is perfect. From the food to the awesome staff (shoutout to Dillon 😘). The Alcove is a wee bit small but you notice none of this w the service you get there. We had the bellinis, Alcove fries, tacos and the steak lollipops. I highly recommend them all. The owner was there bartending and serving. He knew and welcomed regulars by name. He greeted us newbies as if we were old friends. Its great for a date or girls night. For the fellas they have a great beer list. Queens needs more spots like this.

I totally get all the 5 star reviews now! This place is truly a gem. The service is outstanding, and as everyone says they go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and are satisfied with your dining experience. We had the patacones to start (which comes with roast pork but we asked for it without, which, they were happy to accommodate!), they were very good with all the other toppings! And I had a portobello burger and upgraded the side of fries to be chimichurri fries. Its a very generous portion, and despite being delicious, I had to give away at least half of them. The sweet potato on top of the portobello also deserves its own shout out because it was smoky and caramelized to absolute perfection. I am very much looking forward to my next visit here, but will definitely come early since this place is (deservingly) very popular.

So I searched for must eat places in Queens and this place came up. Ive walked by it plenty of time but never really payed any mind to it. So I decided to go for it and I must say I am glad I did. We had the skirt steak lollipops (delicious), alcove burger (delicious), and the alcove Cuban sandwich (really good). Glad I came and will be coming back to try out some other dishes. FYI this place is pretty small and you will most likely sit in a table with other people.

If you are in the vicinity of NYC do yourself a favor and go to The Alcove. We looked up best places to eat Queens and Brooklyn as we were delayed out of LaGuardia, The Alcove popped up as 5 freaking stars...unheard of. It was magical. Gabby(bartender) T (host with the most) were so accommodating and the food was unreal- get the chimichurri fries! All in all a great end to our time in NYC. We even got hugs out the door, I cannot promise that as we are awesome people, but I can guarantee awesome food and service!

First of my server Joseph Bobby and the entire staff were super friendly helpful and courteous service. 2nd I ordered the wings , chicken nachos, guacamole,salmon bruchetta, fish tacos and Angus burger . Kudos to the amazing chef food was made to perfection. The black beans tasted excellent home made . Most definitely will return again. As per the bar tender the guy is an awesome mixologist.
