I grew up in this neighborhood and these are the types of businesses I welcome. Great vibe. Tucked away off Broadway. Good bites. Cocktails are pricey but they have a happy hour menu. Def a great date spot. Quiet and moody. Parking in the area is a nightmare but the subway is on 139 and 145. Easy walk from either station.

Exploring my neighborhood and found this amazing place. Their cocktails are gorgeous and the taste is even better. Mouth watering unique flavors inspired by cultures all over the world. You will be floating after two. My wife and I appreciate LGBTQ+ and woman own business like this. The vibe is luxurious. Treat yourself.

Some of the most inventive cocktails I have had in a long time. Bartenders here take pride in their craft. Try the Curry Island & Espuma de Venus. The small bites are also quite delicious.

I have been extremely lucky to traveled the globe and taste drinks made by some of the top listing cocktail bars in the world. And let me tell you, that the cocktail this place makes are unique and innovative, they are pushing the boundaries of mixology with an infusion of flavor notes that are tied with the Latin American experience and diaspora. The complexity of the flavors each drink brings is superb. Bravo. Ya should be really proud of what you’ve built.With that being said, definitely recommend the Garden of Eden, Plátano Daiquiri, Malta India Espresso, and Agua Mágica. The food is really great too 🤌🏼P.S. I was not hired to write their review lol. Just simply trying to give credit where credit is due.

A great cocktail bar with excellent tacos and specials. Tuesdays are all-day happy hour for tacos, meaning they are $8 all day. They were really good: the tortillas are clearly hand made, salsa was spicy. I loved the cocktails also, and had both the highland by the sea (which was fruity and sweet), and the cantaro was was herby and Smokey.

We enjoyed cocktails while waiting for a table at a nearby ramen restaurant. I loved the unique coquita made with matcha. The espresso martini was rich and chocolatey. Cozy and exotic atmosphere! Friendly staff!

One of the most innovative and underrated Cocktail bars in NYC.I thinks that is why everyone that comes here is so vibrant and its never empty People know they are in on a secret, before it gets out. Felix and his creative team tell stories with their libations which transport you to its South American influences and take you on a ride. Having a cocktail bar background and having made cocktail menus for other establishments i know the amount of work and dedication their team puts into their bar program. and it does not disappoint. Its a true labor of love.Happy Hours are a great deal with small bites also on the menu daily. and their Happy Hour Margaritas are better than 90% of any other margaritas, I have had many and way more expensive.Mariana is a STAR behind the bar, very detail oriented and on top of everything, you can tell she loves what she does.DJs on the weekends are a great vibe, specially since they play to set a vibe not a rave. Volume is tastefully leveled where you can talk to other guests without screaming and the playlist was eclectic from afro vibes, to old school hip hop/R&B and reggeaton.

This is a joint review between a native New Yorker (Abi) and an unknowing mixed Latino (Xavier). Both of us work either behind a bar or at a restaurant— we could not be more unanimous in our verdict that Cocteleria Perla Negra is one of the best cocktail bars in New York. Bonus points to the “Curry Island” and “Guanabana and Soda,” two of the best drinks that have ever crossed our lips. Bonus bonus points for the fries, which kept us from spending our life savings at this lovely establishment. We’ll be back.

THIS WAS SUCH A FUN NIGHT!!!! they had the coolest bartender — i forgot their name — but we were chatting with them and having just the most pleasant time. the bartender had a special recipe for a delicious espresso martini, and it was. the. craziest. thing. in. the. universe. perhaps the best espresso martini in the city. many fond memories!!

Great atmosphere. Well decorated. Feels like more of a cocktail bar than restaurant although they have a full menu. Had a great margarita here looks like they have several different tequilas to choose from. And apparently they clear some of the tables out for a DJ that comes after 10 on Fridays and Saturdays. Monday’s they tend to do private events so try to avoid that night. Great place for a neighborhood date if you want a downtown vibe. Would come back and try the food and other drinks from the extensive cocktail menu.

It is a really nice bar, very lowkey perfect for a date or something chill. Felix invited us over and I’m dying to come back. The drinks were amazing, not every bar has Pisco in their menu so when I’m starving for a Melon Pisco Sour i am definitely coming here. One of the randoms at the bar 🤪told us the Pulled Pork Tacos has crack on it.. then ofc I had to tried it, definitely has crack on it. Coming back for that Pulled Pork Crack Tacos. Very nice atmosphere and DJ Chico Bembe make it better with his music and his DJ name. 😛

I love the new renovations. Service is wonderful and the bartenders listen to your preferences and try to accommodate. The signature cocktails are creative and my favorite is Forgotten Score - try it if you like gin! Cantaro (the one in the photo) is also a good one if you like mezcal.Also, they have DJs on Friday and Saturday and its always a fun time on the dance floor.

The place has a romantic decoration, perfect for a date. The cocktails are tasty and super strong, as happened in other places of the neighborhood. The happy hour prices are great 8$/cocktail. The service was friendly and attended. We order a cheese board and was tasty. Highly recommend the place

This place was very good. Went for happy hour. The food and drinks were both great. The music was good and not too loud so you can still conversate but also enjoy the music. Ill be back. Service was ok, but I had to go up to the bar because the server never came back to see if I wanted anything else, I waited 25 minutes until I gave up and ordered from the bar.

Perla Negra is the hole in the wall that you pass daily without a thought until the small almost unnoticeable sign that advertises Happy Hour 5-7 daily causes you to take the step down to the entrance door. Step into a small space with carefully spaced tables background music a bohemian mix of Spanish and American culture that takes you away from the street noises replacing them with the incessant chatter of happy patrons lost in their conversations over carefully crafted foods that delight the palette. Stop at the bar where you have your choice of traditional drinks or drinks from another place where earthy flavors like ginger and coconut prevail. Overall an unrushed experience where the owner employees remember to say hello and understand how to engage without being overwhelming.

I’ve been here for a while now and let me start by saying that they’ve got the best cocktails in NYC! The Aztec gold and the Canterito are my favorites. Do not skip on the food! The aguachiles are my go-to item but I’d go as far as saying that everything on their menu is great. The staff is always friendly and they go above and beyond to ensure that you’re having a great time. It’s easily one of my favorite bars!

Cocteleria Perla Negra is an uptown staple. Not only are they one of the few amazing cocktail bars uptown, the service is unmatched. Ana and Felix are both experts in their craft and are happy to take the time with a customer to open their eyes to perhaps less familiar flavors on the menu. I recently went for an Industry Night and was blown away by the vibes and energy. Their speciality cocktails are of course remarkable, but I love ordering classic cocktails and letting the bartenders shine with the tried and trues. Also major shout out for an uptown queer-friendly space!!!
