    Atmosphere and service was amazing. We came early on a Saturday evening. The food was overpriced and not really good, but it’s a bar so we didn’t expect much. Espresso Martini was great! Will come back again.

    I have tried to go here on a few different occasions but the line situation outside is always concerning because I can’t usually deal with visual chaos for very long. But I finally had time to show up early and see what the vibe was. Their bar is beautifully made and I think the lounge to dance floor spacing is so well thought through! I also LOVE that they are a club that also has a good selection of natural wines, as I’ve recently made the decision to stop drinking hard liquor and stick to wines. The music in the venue was amazing as well. While I was there Extra Meesh was DJing and I can say for a fact, I will go every single time I see his name on the flyer for Laissez Faire. GOOD WORK, I can’t wait to come back.

    The atmosphere in this bar is very pleasant, and the jazz band on Wednesdays is really good! Food and cocktails are great too so overall, let’s say it’s an hidden gem in NYC for a date night!

    Very taken by this place. Sound is amazing, cocktails- diverse & sublime. Good music- your favorite songs from days past but nothing too commercial & formulaic. The sound system is insane. Looking forward to checking out their jazz nights on Wednesdays with a martini in hand, some oysters, heck maybe even some caviar if I’m feeling adventurous.

    As the sound guy & DJ on Wednesday nights I am giving this slightly biased review of what I know to be an exceptional venue with a focus on old school entertainment in a neighborhood that is positively changing. I must commend the zoned sound system, the bookings team and Alex’s dirty martinis. And look pal, here’s the scoop: Food is being piped in from upstairs soon.

    It is really difficult to walk by the purple neon sign tucked away in an alley and not feel intrigued. Entering the space takes you on a journey back in time. The decor, lighting and sound are curated to hit your senses right in the sweet spot. Oysters and Martinis are the move early and when the clock strikes midnight you know things will get interesting here. I also heard there will be live jazz during the week! I think I found the best new spot in fidi.

    Attended a standup comedy show here. Felt very premium, and for NYC the drinks were priced fairly reasonably! Wasn’t the easiest to find, but definitely worth visiting!

    Like out of a movie. My experience began when I turned onto Theatre Alley, the backside of the austere Beekman Hotel. There I stood, flanked on both sides by skyscrapers that dwarf you in comparison. Down the alley, a porous manhole exhaled steam. It fluttered upwards, and caught the neon sign above the entrance, turning the smoke into a plume of purple light. My eyes tracked down from the sign to the velvet rope encircling a nondescript door, and a queue of eager revelers awaiting the doorman’s verdict. In the words of the great David Byrne, this must be the place.
