Nice vibey spot with good music and ambiance. I loved the dim lighting. Perfect for a date. The place is kind of tight so get there early. They were very accommodating with my reservation and special request. Went on a Friday and there was a mixed crowd, primarily younger. The sorrel mule was a classic and my new fave. I ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls. It was okay. The sauces were the best part.

You must make a reservation or take your chances in finding a available table or space at the bar. Drinks are pricey but superb you get what you pay for! Loved every drink Ive ordered. Staff is friendly professional and efficient. Food is amazing! Although its kind of tight and gets packed thats because the atmosphere and the food and drinks are just top tier for Caribbean cuisine in the city. I traveled all the way from Long Island just to get a decent plate of oxtails and a great vibe for a date night when I craved Caribbean cuisine! I highly recommend this place for a date night or birthday celebration or if youre craving Caribbean food in the city.

Beautiful setting, with the comfy feel of a home study/library where you can get perfectly crafted drinks and mouth watering fare for a reasonable price. It has an unassuming exterior that makes you feel like you are in on a best kept secret. Great bar tenders, friendly staff. Reservations suggested. Has separate area for private parties.

What a sexy, chic giving little Havana vibes. I walked in around 1:30am just about at capacity. I was still able to get a drink within 5-7 min. Bartender was passive aggressive in a good way with a smile getting his job done. The vibes were super friendly and mature crowd, a girl across the bar sent me shots . Music was diverse. Will return !!

Las Lap has a nice vibe to it. The downstairs has about 2 decent size tables and then I believe 2 side tables that seat 1-2 persons along with the bar. It can get kind of cozy in there, but they do have an upstairs seating area. Ive visited various Caribbean food spots in the city and although this doesnt make my top restaurants list its still a decent restaurant. The jerk chicken egg rolls were def my favorite and soO delicious. 5/5! I could go there and eat those alone with a delicious cocktail. The jerk chicken was also not bad, but I do wish that it had a bit more spice and flavor. The rice and beans were okay and felt as if they had been sitting out for a while (room temp) Overall, I think its a nice place to stop by to have a few cocktails and apps before heading elsewhere. I wouldnt recommend coming with a big group as the place is quite small around the bar area. The staff is also friendly and the music was a vibe.

If you enjoy Caribbean food - this is your spot! love the vibes and everything. we thought the music was way too loud, couldn’t even hear each other talk but it was still a good time and i’d come back to try their drinks• sweet chili wings 10/10, so crispy and juicy within every bite. it was our absolute favorite! $12 for 6 wings• macaroni pie 9/10 it was so good, not heavy at all, and would totally get it again! we saw so many people having this on their table so we had to get it. $8• jerk chicken - this was so delicious and full of flavor. i wished the jerk sauce was more spicy but it was still very good! loved the rice and beans and especially the cabbage😅 it was such a good combo! $25• jerk shrimp sliders - very good! this was served with coco bread. $18they have so many cocktails to choose from! unfortunately, i didn’t love their espresso martini and didn’t try another drink but my friend loved hers! the espresso martini was not made with espresso for me - very light colored and not foamy. however, the party next to me had a darker drink and it was foamy.

They were slightly overwhelmed by the group and the space is kind of narrow (needed to request cutlery and plates as they had run out; not easy to maneuver in the space) but they certainly did their best and it was a good time. Customer service gets a 10/10! The space is also very IG worthy, so 10/10 as well. As for the smokin’ sorrel, 2/10, I think it had potential but the aftertaste was not good at all. The jerk chicken meal was good! 10/10. Oxtails get an 8/10. Not sure what was up with the carrot cake—it was like 3 little cake puffs rather than a slice of cake. Overall great vibe & music, but some menu items it seems they try to make super different in order for their establishment to stand out and that’s not needed all the time. I’d love to come back again though!

Seriously what a great spot! We had the privilege of being served cocktails by Darnell Holguin himself - all of our drinks were made with finesse and panache. I tried the signature cocktail, It Was All A Dream, and it was like a rum filled creamsicle - 10/10!We ordered some small bites - beef patty, chicken patty, macaroni pie, and jerk chicken egg roll. They were all delicious, particularly the jerk egg roll that came with two fiery dipping sauces. I cant recommend Las Lap enough.

I went here for my 21st Birthday and I had a great experience. When I arrived my table was already reserved so my party and I were able to sit in a timely manner. My waiter gave us water as we read the menu. They took my drink and meal orders once we confirmed what we wanted. I had the award winner arepas and they are mouth watering delicious alongside the “It was all a dream”. By the 3rd arepa I was already feeling full. It’s a MUST if you visit to try Arepas. So sad to be giving this place no more than 2 stars !I absolutely loved LasLap when they first opened the food options werent amazing. The only good thing about this place was the drinks though they were pretty pricy. The space is pretty small but it was hardly ever packed. Once they got Chef Kelvin to make the menu and bring over his signature Arepas they were winning !I would come here religiously for those Arepas as many people did.This past weekend a group of us decided to go to Las Lap for dinner and drinks. Sadly to our surprise they completely changed the menu. NONE of Chef Kelvins signature dishes are available !I did see on there instagram that they added a few things to the menu but I wasnt aware that theyd no longer have his items.Nothing on the menu seemed appealing especially since wed already known the food before wasnt amazing. We decided to go with the Jerk spring rolls. We were able to have 1 each; they werent bad but they definitely lacked flavor. We then tried the Macaroni Pie which wasnt bad but neither of us loved it. We winded up ordering several orders of fries and sadly just having that for dinner.Hoping to see more items on the menu in the future !
