360 view, classy vibes, delicious drinks. I loved being here and it was one of my favorite memories of our trip to New York.Slightly hard to find and it stunk bad outside walking around the block, we thought we were going in the wrong place to ask directions but they led us down the hall. The receptionist was amazing and sweet she and the rest of the staff we encountered made us feel like celebrities.(my boyfriend said it wouldve been a great proposal spot) -

This Rooftop Bar is absolutely amazing. Its definitely a hidden gem!The bar inside is rather small, but the outside is incredible. The 360° view is breathtakin, especially at nights in the dark. You can see everything for not even half the price of the usual observatories! Absolutely beautiful! There is not a whole lot of seating outside, but it goes all the way around the tower. The wait time to go up wasnt all too long. I definitely recommend this bar!! -

Perched on the 64th floor like a crown jewel of NYC, Overstory is as exclusive as it is breathtaking—nationally ranked and unapologetically bougie. The panoramic views alone are worth the hype; you’ll feel like you’re sipping cocktails inside a postcard. The Drinks:Fancy doesn’t even cover it. Their espresso martini? A silky, caffeine-kissed dream that feels like a warm hug…if hugs had alcohol in them. Every cocktail comes with a side of wow, thanks to their artistry and presentation. The Vibes:Think Gatsby meets Gossip Girl. The space exudes sophistication with just enough edge to keep things interesting. The Catch:Pro tip: don’t even think about walking in without a reservation unless you’re ready to charm your way past a velvet rope. And even then, good luck. The Verdict:Overstory, 64 floors above the city, is an NYC gem that delivers on glam, drinks, and Instagram-worthy moments. If you can score a spot, grab it—and don’t forget to sip slowly and soak in the views.Did not try the food✨ 4.5/5 stars (minus .5 for the RSVP hassle!) -

Amazing spot! We went on a Monday evening and had only a short wait for 2. Absolutely stunning views and the cocktails were great. Got the cheesy popcorn too and was really unique flavor -

Great cocktails, amazing views. Showed up solo on a weekday at opening. It wasnt terribly crowded at first but it picked up quick so earlier the better. There is a host on the first floor that will take your name and then send you up the elevator. Bartenders were friendly. You can go take a look outside with your drink too. Its expensive, but I thought it was a nice experience. Did not try food but it looked good, heard the cheese plate and potato croquettes were delish. -

Highly recommended cocktail bar. Overall my experience was really good. Excellent attention since arrival. Of course the highlight are the views, which are amazing, buy there are also outstanding cocktails and an interesting food menu. My favorite drinks were Pink Tuxedo and Extraordinary. Cocktails are around $25, so 3 or 1 and 1 small dish cover the prepayment. -

Thats super cool place with stunning and magical views, 360° view. And its very high rooftop. The only higher is Bar 65 (rainbow room) I believe. But this one I liked much more. Top floor terrace is narrow in some spot and some people may feel scary of the height, like me 😀But there are spots that feels safe because there is a terrace below you. I also loved super cute small tables inside, in front of windows (in the pictures). That would be a very romantic date with such views. The only disappointment is the drinks. The ice takes 90% of glass and only 10% is a drink. I ordered Apple mocktail and it has huge cube of ice. My friend had a glass of wine and it didnt look like a normal amount, was very small volume. In any case, what you get to see from that rooftop is something special. I would definitely recommend that place and would come back too. -

I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the city. It’s hard to put your phone down and not take 50 pictures of the 360 degree view you get of nyc from here. The cocktails are lovely and I highly recommend Easy Money and Chai Spot. -

>>Update 09/24Still our favorite rooftop bar for special occasions. Over the past four years, weve been coming here 1-3 times a year to enjoy the beautiful view over Manhattan at sunset with a good drink. Mostly with friends who are visiting us in New York. The service is great, but unfortunately the quality of the drinks has decreased a little over time. Still good enough, but not as good as in the beginning. The bar food is pretty good. Definitely a pricey affair, but worth it for the wonderful atmosphere and the magnificent view from the 360-degree terrace on the 64th floor, directly above the Saga Restaurant. It is never too crowded, which is taken into careful consideration by the reservation policy. You enter the golden amber marble lobby of 70 Pine and you press a button from 1932 in a dedicated elevator to reach the 63rd floor, you will be escorted up a travertine stairwell to the elegant cocktail bar Overstory. The oval bar space is surrounded by a wraparound terrace with breathtaking 360-degree views of the New York skyline.Incredibly good drinks and service!Thank you Alan, you were really great, it was fun to talk to you! And we loved all our drinks (Yucateco, Verde Terrace), especially the 212 Manhattan Variation with Cocoa Nib, Amaro, Black Pear. For us? Definititely an absolute beautiful experience, and a Cocktail bar gem in NYC – from now on our most (most!) favorite rooftop bar for special occasions! Well done guys, CONGRATULATIONS! We will be back. -

Since its on the list of top 50, I thought I had to try it while visiting nyc. The drinks are nice, I tried 6 of them and my favorite is easy money and in the clouds. I wish I could have time to try more but they close at 12 :(the food is a bit overpriced but not too crazy. -
Review 11 (2023-07-27 - Rating: 5)
Selection small for both drinks and food but everything we ordered were great. Theres also a separate Michelin 2 star restaurant in the lower level for added flexibility. The 360 degree rooftop is the crown jewel though. Comforting seating and attentive staff. Price a bit steep but thats the price for the views. -
Review 12 (2024-11-30 - Rating: 5)
Small intimate setting with delicious cocktails and a beautiful wrap around terrace with jaw-dropping views of the city. In the clouds cocktail was tasty followed by a well made dirty martini. Will definitely be back next time I’m in NY -
Review 13 (2024-09-10 - Rating: 5)
This is by far my favorite bar in the city. Not only are there cocktails and light bites Absolutely incredible, but you cannot beat the view. Coming for sunset is stunning, but it’s also amazing to see all the city lights from above. The inside bar is also absolutely delightful cozy sexy vibes with really warm, ambient lighting super amazing bartenders and just an impeccable vibe all around. My friend said it was the best oysters they had ever ever had -
Review 14 (2023-09-06 - Rating: 4)
Go here mainly for the amazing views on the 64th floor outdoor terrace. Cocktails were pretty good, but the food was embarrassingly bad. You’ll want to have dinner elsewhere before coming here. Considering the food came from Saga’s kitchen, it made me lose interest in trying Saga. -
Review 15 (2023-11-14 - Rating: 5)
If youre here for the view and the vibes you wont be disappointed. Incredible sights all lit up at night. Cocktails were okay, couldve been better. But service was great and very accommodating. -
Review 16 (2022-12-18 - Rating: 5)
After dining downstairs at SAGA, we headed upstairs to enjoy a few post-dinner cocktails at Overstory. The restaurant team was able to arrange a table reservation for us in conjunction with our dinner reservation, which made everything very easy. Unfortunately we were there on a poor weather night, and were unable to fully enjoy the view from the outdoor terraces that ring the space. The aesthetic is very unique in that the space is both small and grand at the same time. There is not a lot of floor space, but with the soaring ceilings and large windows looking out upon the NYC skyline, it gives you a sense of grandeur. The vibe was far less formal than the restaurant downstairs, with what felt to be a heavy tourist and influencer-type crowd, snapping photos of their drinks and the view while toting luxury good shopping bags from their previous adventures during the day.The drinks are good, and the menu unique, but comes at a cost. $24 a cocktail probably isn’t shocking given the location, but hard to find excellent value. That being said, everything we tried was well made and balanced, and I found the menu to offer some creative twists on several classic recipes. Worth a visit, and do yourself a favor and go when the weather is good! -
Review 17 (2023-12-16 - Rating: 5)
Truly deserving of that spot as one of the top 20 best bars in the world. Sitting by the bar, seeing the bartenders are just in the zone all night (shoutout to Chris and Kyle for being just amazing). Cocktails are expensive ($24 each) but this is a legit rooftop bar so youre also paying for the amazing views in NYC and the craft behind those drinks. Highly suggest the Maiz and Pink tuxedo!! Make sure you get reservations as it gets really busy here especially on weekends. Just a fantastic vibe and experience overall. -
Review 18 (2022-09-10 - Rating: 5)
Ridiculous 360 views of NYC, Jersey and Beyond. Havent seen any view like this in NYC. The fact that you are not as high as the Emprie State Building or other sky scrapers gives you a more intimate sort of closer view of the City.. as the day turns into night and the lights come on its gets magical. You can have drinks indoor or outdoor. There is a different bar menu for the outdoor area. The drink pic, Como si dice is on the outdoor menu. The staff were super friendly and courteous and guide each guest up the stairs from the elevator to Overstory. Cant wait to go back.It is first cone first enter. They control the number folks admitted very well. You can wait in the lobby lounge or inside Crown Shy and have dirnks as we did. We did go on a Friday and had an hour wait. However we were having dirnks at Crown Shy so the time went by fast.My second visit. The views views werw still spectacular. We had couple of drinks and hae the lamb slider. Which is presented as a stuffed bum . Wow! it was deeeelishous! -
Review 19 (2022-05-13 - Rating: 5)
Incredible spot! Perfect for date night. Try and go on a clear day around sunset. 66 floors up with a balcony that wraps around the building aka views for days. It’s got such a 70s vibe with the music and the bartenders outfits. The cocktails were fantastic. I was in a whiskey kick so I want with the Phantom Fortune and the 212. They also greet you with a green matcha tea as you sit down. Great and friendly service! -
Review 20 (2023-12-14 - Rating: 5)
My friend has been a few times and raves about it so when I visited, we had to go. Usually there is a wait but we went on a Sunday evening with poor weather conditions so we were sent up within 5 minutes. Its on the 63rd floor so the views are amazing (as seen by other photos. I didnt get to see it :( ). The place doesnt seat that many people inside. Didnt go outside because it was raining and we couldnt see anything anyway. The place is just dark enough and just loud enough to create a nice ambiance. Theres also a fun disco ball. The bartenders all seem very experienced and were fun to watch. The drinks are on the pricier side yes, but theyre very interesting. Also, you get a great view of the city (usually). Even though I didnt get the view, I thought it was still a great experience. We got- The Last Frontier: if you like gin and chartreuse, youll like this drink! Just sweet enough with lovely gin flavor- Verdant: quite strong alcohol taste, if youre into that. Love the bubbles as well. refreshing!- In the Clouds: my friend gets it every time he visits. So smooth and vanilla-y!- Mikan Spritz: cant quite remember this one.. but I dont recall hating it!- Big Bang: so savory, but in a good way!- Terroir old fashioned: old fashioned lovers will like this oneI would definitely go again, but on a day with clear skies :P -

Went to this bar on a Saturday night. As its on a 64th floor, the views are just amazing from the terrace. Its a great way of seeing the city from above from a non too touristy place.Drinks were great and about $25 each.Booking is recommended, but they have a waiting list on the spot. -
Review 22 (2023-04-10 - Rating: 5)
Its one of the best rooftop bar in the city. We headed there around 5 pmish, around the time when they open and we were lucky to get the table for 4. Usually they are booked way in advance.totally mesmerized by the 360 views of the city, one of the best sunsets I have ever witnessed .Very formal place, you would notice all the bartenders and servers are properly dressed. Now coming to cocktails:we were served matcha infused water to clear our palette so that we can enjoy the cocktails and drinks fully.started with:on the clouds, plum sazzy, gemini and supply chain.every cocktail was a total delight and their presentation is mind blowing!very limited food menu - but its really good.Overall overstory is a must try for drinks and views of the NYC. -
Review 23 (2024-12-19 - Rating: 5)
One of my fave upscale bars in the city! They have the best inventive, luxurious drinks. Just make sure to check their Instagram first to make sure theyre open. I have showed up at the bar before to find that they are closed for a private event. I think they post day-to-day schedule/closings on Instagram, so check that first! -
Review 24 (2024-11-18 - Rating: 5)
Going to a rooftop bar in NYC you’re going to expect overpriced drinks with a decent view of a couple of buildings or so; well, that’s not the case with Overstory.Very subtle bar in the heart of Wall Street and phenomenal 360 views overlooking midtown, the Brooklyn & Manhattan bridge, the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn. For $23-$30 you’re getting cocktails served at one of the world’s best bars (#15) and each cocktail is smooth but the equivalent of 3 regular drinks. The staff is very laid back and you g considering it’s a bar down in Wall Street. It also gets its appetizers from the Michelin start restaurant beneath it, Saga.I had the tater tots and was mind blown.Highly recommended to anyone who loves a good rooftop, solid cocktail and phenomenal views of the greatest city in the world. -
Review 25 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 4)
A dimly lit and intimate spot for drinks with a 360 view of the city. From the actual space inside, you wont see the views though, you have to go outside on the balcony to see it. Drinks-wise, the Easy Money and The Frenchie were pretty smooth. Would recommend ideally for smaller groups of 1-2. -
Review 26 (2024-10-21 - Rating: 4)
Went for the night view with some drinks. Walking in was perfect with the ladies at the receptions in the lobby and on 63rd floor. Professional, well mannered and friendly. Me and my friend were brought to 64th bar section and outdoor area.( 63rd is indoor dining).Bar area was small and bartender was ok. Suggest 22%tips and did more than that. But the cocktail was terrible so did not drink at all after one sip . Could claim for the taste but did not because I doubted I can get better one with another from him. So I really recommend beer or wine which is guaranteed.Night view was one of the best so I would love to go back there only for the view at dining area becuz they seem like much more cozy and queiet with nice servicesIn short I recommend this place to visit but not for the cocktail -
Review 27 (2023-03-25 - Rating: 5)
This bar was one of my favorite places to go during my recent trip to NYC. My wife and I lucked out because I think I sniped a last-second cancellation on their online reservation site, and I knew about how elusive a rez here could be. We were fortunate enough to get sunset and nighttime experiences in one go. From the inside tables, there is a lack of view. But OMG, the view from their terrace is absolutely stunning. Much better than going up some tourist trap tower...you know which ones Im talking about. At Overstory, you can sit and relax, take unobstructed photos of the city and as many insta selfies as you see fit, and drink some great cocktails. If you like something sweet and biting, go with a Creme de la Creme. Overall, Overstory is not cheap since theres a minimum charge, but considering what Ive paid at fancy rooftops and speakeasies in New York and other cities, I would say the price is fair. -
Review 28 (2024-10-21 - Rating: 5)
I would make a reservation so you don’t have to wait. Love the vibe, cocktails were really good (we had the Guava one, Wah-Ka-Tay and a Negroni. I would stick to the signature cocktails. They are about $27 each. We didn’t feel rushed and took photos out on the deck which was closed. -

Really cool spot with great views from their outdoor area. All of the cocktails were fantastic. Good spot to bring out of towners or just enjoy being a New Yorker -
Review 32 (2024-11-11 - Rating: 5)
Overstory is a bar perched on the 65th floor of 70 Pine Street, a nearly century-old building in NYC with a charmingly classic vibe. The elevator ride? A little nerve-wracking! 🤣 Sipping cocktails here comes with an incredible panoramic view of the city. We got there right when it opened at 4 pm and lucked out—20 minutes later, the place was packed! The cocktails are on the pricey side, but hey, you’re paying for the view too. 😅 -
Review 33 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 5)
Most incredible rooftop view of Manhattan, while enjoying finest cocktails and food. Absolutely recommended to go here (don’t forget to make a reservation upfront). -

Loved every part of our night here!64th floor with 360° outdoor terrace for the MOST incredible views. We were a given incredible non-alcoholic welcome drinks with matcha and toasted rice and noted other non-alcoholic cocktails available on the menu. All of the cocktails were incredible - highly recommend! -

Doable, for the view and the service. Drinks are just ok… cheesees on the cheese plate have been sitting out for a while, wont reco.On the other hand… the ice cream (bar) may seem weird and childish but actually not bad at all, esp take it walking around the balcony 😂 -
Review 36 (2022-09-10 - Rating: 4)
🇬🇧 If you’re looking for a drink with a view, Overstory is the place for you. If you’re in the Financial District of NYC that is. It’s located on the 64th floor, above Saga restaurant. If you’re coming to see the sunset, a reservation on the terrace is highly recommended. The bar inside is walk-in only though, so you could get lucky as we did. People seem to only stay a short while though as the prices are rather high, so waiting times aren’t that bad. The crowd seemed to be primarily the Instagram crowd and people on dates. The menu was inspired by summer when we were there, but the Terroir Old Fashioned with aged tequila and Palo Santo was right up our alley! The bartenders know what they’re doing but are very busy. This is a place to take some cool photos, have a nice cocktail and then move on to a friendlier and cheaper bar. 🥃👍 -
Review 37 (2023-10-28 - Rating: 4)
The best thing about this place is the view, the drinks are a bit overpriced but it is expected and also the wait is about an hour and half but if you are aware you may walk around doing other staff or shopping in the meantime. -
Review 38 (2024-01-15 - Rating: 5)
We had a fantastic time at Overstory on a lovely Sunday evening. Kyle was our bartender and the service was outstanding. He was patient, kind, matched our energy, and his recommendations did not miss once. We are Kyle’s biggest fans and will come back just to have the Kyle experience once more! -

Review 41 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)
After visiting each of the NYC bars that appear in the Top 100 Cocktail Bars in the World 2023, I would rate Overstory as the best in NYC. The drinks were exceptionally complex and interesting on the palate. The atmosphere is beautifully classic art deco. The service is top-quality. The views are some of the best in the city. The entire experience was absolutely lovely and this is a truly a world-class experience. -
Review 42 (2024-05-02 - Rating: 5)
This is the best bar in New York City right now.We got both the milk punches, the old fashioned, the Alaska, and a bright pink sour I thinkThe views are absolutely insane and it deserves to be an impossibly difficult reservation to grab. The layout is so thoughtful:Bright gold brass bar, pink disco lighting (tasteful, low key I promise). Servers are all wearing pink jackets, and half the drinks are pink. It’s deco it’s art. It’s classy and sassy.Best bar in NYC -

Review 48 (2024-11-09 - Rating: 4)
Insane rooftop bar!! The views were breathtaking, and we went at sunset which made it even better. The cocktails were really good as well, and the cozy and intimate atmosphere made everything just perfect. I wish they would have let less people at a time though, as many couldn’t find a seat or a spot at the bar and were just standing around the room.Service was great, but the barman lost my friend’s bank card that she gave him when opening a tab. He just shrugged and said It happens instead of apologising. A sweet waitress said she would go ask the manager and search for the card. We waited for around 20 minutes before they found it, and the waitress apologised many times. The barman did give my friend a drink on the house, so at least that’s that. In the end, he went looking for us to apologise, which is what we would’ve expected from the start from a place like this. We were still very happy of our experience and I would recommend it. -
Review 49 (2024-10-11 - Rating: 5)
When you see the view you suspect the bar would be complimentary to the view but it was the other way around.Staff, drinks and food were of top level and worth a visit on its own! -

This bar was insane. Obviously the view was killer, but the atmosphere inside was stunning. There was a little wait since it’s a small space, but it’s more than worth it. Their mocktails were delicious, and all my friends had beautifully balanced cocktails. Super friendly staff too, I’ll never stop recommending this place🖤 -

Awesome cocktails, excellent service and a view you cant help but keep staring at. What else would you need for a summer outdoor spot (with indoor option for those who prefer it). Chris, Ryan, Jaime and team are the best! My favourite cocktails were the Maravilla, the Terroir Old Fashioned, and the Chai Spot. -

The cocktails are extremely innovative and delicious. Similar cocktail vibes to their sister restaurant at crown shy, which is also delicious - both dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is speakeasy-esq but also slightly more upbeat with their music. You truly cannot beat the views of the city (unless you dined at SAGA :) A great date night place to come -

Drinks were fairly average (for the price), but the view from outside is second to NONE. A breathtaking and romantic spot to grab a classy drink...as long as youre outside. Inside, the space is in need of an update. Also, the music (essentially 70s disco) isnt right for the vibe; soft jazz would be a better and classier fit for the space. -

Opened in late 2021 and located on the 63rd and 64th floors, respectively, the fine-dining restaurant SAGA and cocktail bar Overstory, offer a wraparound wrought-iron terrace with 360-degree views of the New York City skyline. The remarkably rapid elevator ride up to the new spaces stops at the 63rd floor. Those lucky enough to have secured a reservation at the recent two Michelin-starred SAGA are greeted with a welcome cocktail as they exit the elevator at the restaurant’s bar, the centerpiece of the room.Take the stairs another floor up to reach Overstory, a 26-seat bar with an open-air terrace that can accommodate 40 people. Overstorys wrap around and uninterrupted view from its Financial district location is breathtaking, whether its at sunset or after dinner, when NY is at its best. Overstory could be best described as an oval-shaped jewel box in the sky. Designed by MN, the bar’s interior is characterized by blush plaster walls, burgundy banquettes, and modeled on a vintage theater marquee. The staff at Overstory are beautifully dressed in pink pastel uniforms and will wow you with their friendliness and execution. It should be no surprise they won Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award in the inaugural 2022 edition North America’s 50 Best Bars.Bar Director Harrison Ginsberg (ex-BlackTail and Dead Rabbit), Bar manager Chris Figueroa and Head bartender Chris Lemperle have crafted a cocktail list worthy of the view. The drinks are prepared with rare ingredients and complex methods but presented in an accessible way to the guest. The Terroir Old Fashioned is a tequila cocktail that is meant to express not only the specific terroir of the Jalisco-based tequila but also the other ingredients in the cocktail: VEP Yellow Chartreuse from the Chartreuse Mountains in France, Vin Jaune from the Jura region of France, Palo Santo from the Yucatan Peninsula, and sea salt harvested at Fort Tilden near Coney Island, which can be seen from the 70 Pine’s terraces. The drink’s sweetener is a caramelized agave nectar, cooked in a large saucepan to reduce and darken it, resulting in a deep, caramelized flavor and intensified agave characteristic. The drink is garnished with a piece of homemade honeycomb created by the restaurant’s pastry kitchen and a sprinkle of salt. Though tequila is the base spirit, the drink has a deep whiskey-like quality from the caramelized agave syrup. The result is a Mounds candy bar flavor with herbaceous and vanilla notes from the prestigious barrel-aged yellow chartreuse. After sunset, the disco ball is fired up, further adding to the charm of Overstory. More than a bar, Overstory is a destination, or experience, that every cocktail bar lover should experience at least once in their lives. The emotion of drinking at Overstory is comparable to that of enjoying a Martini at Atlas. But instead of James Bond, youll feel like a mix of Andy Warhol and Don Draper, with a view of New York that will make the Manhattan you are drinking all that more memorable. -

Come here for the drinks, my regular bar hop when I worked on Wall Street (same building as AIG). -
Review 75 (2024-01-14 - Rating: 5)
We sat at the bar and had a great experience this evening. Cocktails were exceptional. Service was impeccable. Unfortunately it was just too windy to get out on the deck to enjoy the view. My only gripes would be immediately being asked for a card to open a tab after already paying a $100 reservation fee, the staff uniforms are atrocious (mauve anything is not a good idea) and the interior decor is just so vanilla; you could do so much to play on the art deco vibe of the building (ala Atlas Singapore). None the less, the service and hospitality from the mixologist was amazing and made the evening one to remember! -

Review 78 (2023-11-20 - Rating: 4)
The views are amazing and the bartenders are incredible. But I dont think the waiting time is worth it. We waited for more than one hour and there were some free spots when got there. Weird. -
Review 79 (2023-01-17 - Rating: 5)
Overstory was a fun pre dinner stop with my Wife! We enjoyed getting to have drinks here and enjoy the terrace. If you do not have a reservation you can have to wait a bit! We did not have a reservation and had to wait for about an hour before we got to go upstairs. The drinks are a little funky but it was a neat experience. I enjoyed getting to admire the views from the terrace. -

What a gem, gorgeous art deco building nestled in quiet lower Manhattan. The roof offers a wonderful atmosphere that inspires you to walk all the way around and chat with everyone. The backdrop is the most spectacular views of the city. -

The 360 view is unbeatable, drinks are fantastic too! Walk-ins are accepted, don’t think twice about going -

Wonderful cocktails, ambience and views.A bit on the pricey side tho. -
Review 85 (2024-10-06 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful place with gorgeous views.....Just a point management should want to check but had to wait outside one restroom for almost 20 minutes late night because a drunk couple was inside the bathroom with nowhere else for patrons to go. That was kind of shady given the location and the vibe you expect. Other than this had a great time with the bartenders giving prompt service. -
Review 86 (2024-03-14 - Rating: 4)
Cool spot with good cocktails, but I wouldn’t say it was necessarily deserving of being ranked in the top 50 bars in the US. The liquor selection had much to be desired. The service was great and the ambiance was top notch for a romantic date night. The art deco building was quite the vibe though! -
Review 87 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 5)
The most insane 360 view of nyc ever, although the rooftop is quite narrow -
Review 88 (2023-08-27 - Rating: 5)
Certainly a 5 star. We did not try food, but staff were friendly and accomodating. Drinks are good, and of course you would go here mostly for a nice ambience and fantastic view of the city. -

Staff is really friendly and professional. Great drinks from the indoor bar! The bbq lamb buns were absolutely delicious. Some chairs are literally right next to speakers though which is quite annoying. -
Review 90 (2022-06-12 - Rating: 5)
A great rooftop bar with good quality of drinks and wonderful view for downtown Manhattan and Jersey! For cocktails, I would recommend the Terroir Old Fashioned the best. The Tequila used for the cocktail is really spirit-forward, but the honeycomb that would gradually resolve into the drink makes the drink sweeter and smoother. When the salt on top of the honeycomb also resolves into the drink, it brings another layer of taste.212 is also a pretty good spirit-forward drink. It’s not that strong and easier to drink, but still has the fragrance of Bourbon. The view here is also amazing, here is definitely a good place for special occasions. The staff and bartenders here are also super friendly, and the vibe is also pretty chill!Although cocktails here are rather expensive ($24), but it definitely worths it for the quality and the wonderful view! -

Reservations are recommended! We got a seat at the top floor, the view is incredible (windy)... drinks where so good!!! and service was constant. We had popcorn and a shrimp cocktail, big portions... We did find it expensive, 3 drinks each and the appetizers with tip $190... worth it, but expensice -
Review 94 (2023-08-01 - Rating: 5)
Hands-down the best rooftop bar in Manhattan, 360 views that personally trump observation decks. Special thanks to Susan who managed orders plus drink crafting with both skill and fluency, thank you for hosting us and keep flourishing as the pristine bar that you are! -
Review 95 (2023-03-03 - Rating: 5)
Skip the pricey observatories for an actually-great rooftop bar! Overstory has a wonderful cocktail program, and the prices really arent bad for the quality + atmosphere. I wish Id had a chance to go up a little earlier to see the sun set, but even though we arrived right around opening time, we experienced an hour wait. Thankfully, theyll text you when theyre ready so youre not stuck waiting in the lobby! -

Pretty cool spot. Walked in, but I would recommend getting a reservation. There is a restaurant downstairs as well, but its separated. You get to have a drink and get a 360 view of lower Manhattan. Nice place to chill. -
Review 98 (2023-07-24 - Rating: 4)
Spectacular views and lots of attention to detail. My favorite is the Maiz, which was smoky and yet refreshing, with hints of sweet corn.In the Clouds was a sweet and light Barbie girly drink, but props to detail - can you see that the design of the glass itself has clouds that become more visible as the light hits and you finish more of your drink?Manhattan Deluxe, Easy Money and the tater tots were good, but not wow for me. I loved that guests can bring their drinks from their tables while walking around outside to get the stunning views. -
Review 99 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)
I reserved a slot here with my friend to celebrate my birthday and had a great time! Just a heads up, if you reserve beforehand, you do need to pay $50 per person ahead of time, which will be deducted from your bill at the end.The place is beautiful, with tasteful decor, vibing music, and friendly bartenders! With this bar being so high up, the views were also great as well! The only thing was it was hard to find a good place to take photos outside… It didn’t help that it was so windy too.The cocktails were what I was most excited for, having heard rave reviews about them. The Sandia was probably my favorite, with it being fruity, slightly tart, but also creamy with the matcha foam! The Easy Money was also a great drink, with the yuzu and coconut flavors blending well with the vodka. They also came out with a small cupcake at the end for my birthday, which was super cute! I appreciated that it wasn’t overly sweet either.I would probably come by again when the menu has changed, so I can try out some new drinks. If you haven’t gone yet, it’s definitely somewhere you should visit once! -
Review 100 (2022-01-29 - Rating: 4)
It was a unique experience although I would highly recommend coming in a warmer season. There isn’t much of a view when you’re seated, but we were able to talk a quick walk on the balcony area before we left. The view from outside is pretty amazing so I’d imagine coming back in the Summertime would be perfect. -

Great place to visit. It takes about 45 to an hour waiting list but is worth the experience of being at a 64 floor taking amazing pictures, having delicious entries (tuna toast and oysters) and enjoying a great variety of cocktails (puerto Escondido mezcal). -

Review 105 (2023-06-13 - Rating: 5)
Now approaching two-years-old high in the sky downtown, Overstory is still a tough reservation to come by, but space can be had with a little patience and a lot of advance planning. Coordinate and you’ll be rewarded with truly out of sight skyline tableaus that even a hot air balloon pilot would admire. Overstory also allegedly accepts walk-ins, and the bar at Crown Shy downstairs is a lovely place to wait. -

Best rooftop bar for views of the city! The 360 degree outdoor terrace provides amazing views of the city. Drinks were expensive but were of the highest quality. -

Best rooftop bar in NYC when it comes to scenes views! I recommend booking your reservation for sunset. This way you will get the best of both worlds- Manhattan in the sunlight and later on during the night! 10/10 would (and most likely will) come again! -

Review 109 (2024-11-17 - Rating: 5)
We came to Overstory after dinner at Crown Shy and were enamored by the views of this cocktail bar on the 64th floor. The bar is beautiful and the bartenders are dressed in pink blazers that transport you to South Beach. Don’t skip El Bandito on the cocktail menu! -

If you are looking for a place with a great outdoor view, come here. Really cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the bar, small, but intimate. Great selection of drinks. The pity that they open so late during winter season. -
Review 111 (2024-08-24 - Rating: 5)
Intimate speakeasy with fantastic views. The cocktails are well curated and the bartenders are on point. We didn’t order food but the small bites looked good as well. The bartenders’ attire took you back in time and gave a retro feel to an upscale intimate cocktail bar. -

Review 114 (2023-02-04 - Rating: 4)
Great GREAT Location BEAUTIFUL 360 view of New York City! They serve Appetizers size servings, beautiful presentation. This bar is on the pricey side but worth it. Drinks are good! FOUR STARS because service could have been better. Idk if its because we were visitors from California, but I would prefer more interaction from the server. Didnt have a friendly or talkative server very dismissive, wasnt happy about that. There is a 90 minute time limit (thats what I was told by floor manager) which is understandable since the bar is VERY small but very nice. -
Review 115 (2023-09-20 - Rating: 5)
Yes. The wait is long and the drink is not cheap. But the drinks are phenomenal and the view is stunning. If you appreciate high quality, artistic, special crafted cocktails, this is your destination. My favors are the eye catching pink tuxedo and in the clouds ( you have to try this if you like whiskey). -

#17 World’s best bar (2023)(Look up World’s 50 Best Bars Ranking - I’m traveling around the world to try them btw)Atmosphere 10/10Atmosphere couldn’t be more impressive. 64th floor in FiDi, very stylish speakeasy vibe, with a 360 degrees open balcony (!!!). The views of NYc are simply breathtaking. I can’t imagine a better cocktail spot in summer than this.Drinks 8/10Good drinks, not the best. Can recommend pink tuxedo.Service 9.5/10Nicely dressed and very attentive staff. Bartenders wear pink tuxedos. We felt great here.Price 7/10Considering the views, the price of $24 per drink is more than reasonable.Overall, I think the bar fully deserves to be in Top50 in the world! Personally, I would even put it in Top10 because of atmosphere and the views -

Our experience was a hit and a miss in terms of the cocktails that we tried . The hits were the creme le la creme and the yucateco . Both of these cocktails were perfectly balanced and unique. The misses were the in the clouds and the Gemini. We had the fried chicken- good in terms of quantity but wont recommend otherwise. -

My only reason for giving here a 5 star review is because of how beautiful the 360 degrees view was on the 63rd floor. The view was immaculate! The drinks were a tad bit over priced in my opinion and were just okay/decent.The bartenders inside were hospitable! However for being one of the best bar in the Manhattan area the service wasnt the best. -
Review 141 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 5)
70 Pine Street was originally known as the Cities Service Building, when it was finished in 1932, for Ohio born oil tycoon Henry Latham Doherty, the CEO of the Cities Service oil company. It was once the 3rd tallest building in the world, after the Empire State and Chrysler, and was for many years the tallest building in Manhattans downtown financial district. The building is one of the most wonderful examples of American Art Deco anywhere in the world, with its slim tower, many setbacks, and its wonderful lantern top with a needle like spire tapering into the sky. It was meant to evoke a snow capped mountain, so its brown brick façade gradually turns to white bricks, as it reaches its upper height of 952 feet.To get to the Over Story cocktail bar, you first walk through 70 Pines amazing lobby, with its richly coloured amber stonework and wonderful aluminium doorways and decorative features. You then ascend to the bar in a private elevator, before emerging in a cosy inside bar room (which was originally Mr Dohertys boardroom), and the best full 360 degree open air terrace in lower Manhattan, with sweeping views across the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and up into Midtown.Drinks are exceptional, service is attentive and friendly, and the whole experience makes you feel like you are living in the age of elegance and sophistication (but with an informal and very relaxing atmosphere).I cant recommend this experience enough! I had a wonderful time here with my wife whilst we were holidaying in New York. Fantastic! -

Not happy hour, but if you want a drink and an amazing view, Overstory at 70 Pine is great! Drinks are on the expensive side, but the views and roof deck worth a bit of a premium drink price. Someone used to live at 2 Gold, which has an amazing view, and somehow, another 10-12 floors up at 70 pine, the view is substantially better! They do offer reservations, but if you live nearby, you can stop by and put your name down for a table later -
