Really cool mezcal and cocktails bar in the east village. So many types of tequila to choose from. We enjoyed the tacos as well ! -

ALPHABET CITY STAND UP! One of the beautiful hidden gems of AC. Im workshopping that acronym so bear with me.If you like Mezcal, you need to come here. Trust me, I am a mezcal expert. I took one 60 minute mezcal mixology class when I was in Mexico City and ended up getting too turnt to retain anything, but an expert nonetheless.I have been a few times and its hit or miss on whether it is packed or not.Crowd or no crowd, the staff has always been accommodating and patient. They have a FANTASTIC happy hour where they have a flight of Mezcal for $18. Be careful, as that and a Paloma will have you leaning when you walk out of there.I Fd up and didnt take pics of the drinks when I went, so thats on me. Ive tried the mezcal flight, paloma, classic marg, peach margarita, and the cinnamon marg. Essentially everything on the happy hour menu ahahahaha. My favorites were the Paloma & cinnamon marg. Quality that is.Also, the little $3 tacos are the cutest little things Ive ever seen. And yummy.Love this place and it would be a great date spot fellas👀!!!! -

We came for a drink on the terrace on Friday night, one of the first warm nights. There was a storm, and the rain was pretty heavy, but we didnt get wet. It was really nice to hear the thunder and raindrops, and all the little birds in the nearby tree. We ordered a flight of mezcal and a $3 beer since it was happy hour. The indoor bar looked really good too. I feel like it would pretty cool to come back for cocktail . The waiters were nice too. A good time. -

Interesting and tasty drink menu based on Mezcal and Rye cocktails, but other spirits are also available. They definitely worked to make sure we enjoyed our drinks - we will be back! In case you were a fan of Mace that has this spot before The Cabinet, its the same owners but different mixology. -

The mezcal selection here is insane (especially the clay distilled mezcal flight 🙂↕️) and so delicious. Very cool environment and friendly people too, absolutely had a blast -

Rented the private room for my birthday and had the best time! Staff was incredible- very friendly and helpful and attentive. The room was really nice and great ambiance. And the food and drink were top notch. I would highly recommend this for a private event! Very fairly priced too :) -

We stopped in for a cocktail and a snack early on a Thursday evening and had a fantastic experience!Diego, our bartender was super friendly, professional and clearly experienced. The drinks he made us - the “Strawberry Apology” and the “Zapateado” were delightful and had complex and interesting flavors. He recommended the “Maruchan con Mayonnaise” to us for a snack and it was SO good. Such an unusual dish on the face of it, combining ramen noodles with mayo, cheese, corn, and scallions, but absolutely delicious. A perfect comfort food. We also had the tamale and the chorizo quesadillas which were extremely tasty and really hit the spot. The interior of the space is thoughtfully decorated - dark green walls with tasteful gothic and industrial accents - and the overall vibe was just great. We can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be back soon!!Edit: I have lived near this place for almost a year now and have been back multiple times with friends and also alone for a quick afternoon refreshing drink. I have NEVER had a bad experience. The cocktails continue to be delicious, and the bartenders continue to be lovely, warm, and hospitable. Oh and also the small bites they offer continue to be super tasty!! You have to check this place out - it’s such a hidden gem!! -

If you love mezcal, youll love this place. Came here for a few quick rounds of drinks. Additionally, we tried the little $3 tacos, and they were pretty good. For drinks, I had the cinnamon margarita & the LA Primavera margarita. Theyre a couple dollars cheaper if you visit during happy hour like we did. The staff is attentive, but it might be crowded, it might not. It was only half full when we visited. Give them a look if youre in the area. -

Amazing selection of mezcals, many of which I have never seen in New York before. This is hands down the best mezcal bar in New York if not the country. The cocktails are great too. This is a serious place but the enthusiasm of the staff makes it fun too. Dont wait. If you dont already love mezcal this bar is the perfect place to learn the differences and find what you like best. The Best. -

Mexican-themed bar! Love the 2nd drink from top down (pocasito or something like that). We also tried the $40 flight you put what in there and that was really fun as well. Bartender was super nice and gave us each half a shot at the end. -

Fun spot with craft spirits and a helpful staff of NYers who appreciate our neighborhood. Prices reflect quality of the spirits and while not cheap are not in the gouging range. Hope they stick around and give them some business. The AC and fans in the back keep it cooler than up front. -

Went for the FREE mezcal tasting, featuring the oxacan adventure, and were so impressed by the quality of the spirits and the instructor led presentation! The staff were great and we’d definitely go back for more of their happy hour margs. A hidden gem for sure! -

They partnered with miracle pop up to fill the entire place with Christmas decorations. SO cute and festive! The menu is also Christmas themed as well.It wasn’t that packed when I went a few days ago but I’m sure it will be soon -

We had an amazing time here to celebrate our anniversary! Got a happy hour flight (only $18!) which came with 3 mezcals selected by the bartender, as well as some light snacks. Super friendly staff, and some amazing rare mezcals. Will definitely be back!! -

Probably the best Mezcal bar in Manhattan. Greg has an amazing selection of mezcales from all over Mexico! -
Review 20 (2022-12-22 - Rating: 5)
We went during the Miracle on 9th Street pop up and it was such a cute spot! The tacky yet tasteful Christmas decor and variety of Christmas music made the vibe super festive. We were seated immediately after arrival, and were told of the 90 min table limit. Drinks were all very distinct and unique - we got the Grandma Got Run Over By A T-Rex, Christmas Cricket, and Santa’s Little Helper. Took a while to get our drinks, but they were well worth the wait. Each came in a fun, different themed glass. Would highly recommend the Christmas Cricket if you’re into minty drinks & coconut / pandan flavors. Check this place out if you’re looking for a cute holiday bar! -
Review 21 (2022-03-21 - Rating: 4)
The vibes and staff here are so fun and cute. The drinks aren’t crazy expensive and it’s definitely a great vibe for a cute date. I wasn’t a big fan of 3 out of 4 drinks we got. The naked and famous was 10/10, their version of an espresso martini (zapateado) was okay, but the caminante tasted like spicy cough syrup and the tiranosaurio was just straight Mindoro (insanely sweet apple). Might give this place one more try but would absolutely order something different. -
Review 22 (2020-01-17 - Rating: 5)
Lets hope this fifth or so cocktail concept in this location succeeds! The place feels more low key than before, and also a bit more going their own way instead of being yet another cocktails place. The focus on mezcals is interesting and welcome. -

More rare bottles than you can shake a stick at, and the best service you could ask for from knowledgeable staff with a passion for the magic spirit. Go to this quiet cornerstone of the mezcal world for the arroqueno. Stay for the fondue. -

Agave as far as the eye can see, whats not to like? -
Review 32 (2024-01-12 - Rating: 5)
Some friends and I did a mezcal tour in Puebla, Mexico. The theme of the tour is that the artisanal / small batch nature of mezcal makes it almost impossible to commercialize and export to the US - the mezcal you buy in the store is not “authentic mezcal”. My response was - “we’ll damn, that mezcal bar in my neighborhood in NYC must be a shame”. The tour guide said “you mean The Cabinet? No they’re legit”… enough said -
Review 33 (2023-04-14 - Rating: 5)
The Cabinet has, without a doubt, the best taco in the east village. $3 per taco at the time of writing, it beats the spots charging $5 - $8 per taco by miles. Cocktails are in the $15 range and appropriately priced for the imaginative flavors and precise execution. $6 beers and ciders for those who desire. Beautiful interior, friendly staff. Recommended. -

Came here to try some interesting mezcals and was not disappointed! The Deviations flight was fun to sample and share, and the bartender was super knowledgeable. They even brought out a surprise free snack later in the night. On a Weds night the place had good energy, but not too crowded or loud. -
Review 38 (2022-08-28 - Rating: 5)
Great interior with intimate seating! Definitely a must-go for anyone who is even slightly into tequila or mezcal -
