Undercote is an absolute must do if you’re visiting or for a date night. There may be a little bit of a wait at the door but it is well worth it. The bartenders really made our experience. Had recommendations and knew the menu extremely well. Try the Korean gnocchi. The sauce it came with was incredible.

Stopped in at about 5 pm on a Thursday - no wait and walked right in! Tried 3 different drinks, all were amazing. Service was great and very friendly. Highly recommend the Korean Gnocchi. If you tried & didn’t get a Cote reservation you can order a few small plates and even some of their meat here so it’s a great alternative!

Came here at opening on a Friday evening, and had no problem securing seats at the bar. The space is very sleek, with plants covering the walls and behind the bar. The staff were all very friendly, and seemed pleased to walk us through the cocktail menu and make their suggestions. Many of the cocktails come with a bit of production value, and are interesting to watch the bartenders prepare. We especially enjoyed the Cola Nerve Tonic and Illusions. Both food and drink are pricey, but in line with other high-end bars in the area.

I can’t believe I didn’t know this little cute speakeasy bar until now!It’s super cool vibe and there are great Asian inspired cocktails!You can enjoy drinks even if you don’t have reservation at COTE steakhouse, so check it out!

Came here for drinks around 9pm on a Friday night and had to put our name down for a table. There were around 8 parties ahead of us at the time. We waited for about 40mins before we got a table. We left the bar around 11:30pm and there were open tables then, so you could walk into this bar later at the night. Overall the idea and vibe were cool, but the chairs and lighting were not ideal.

One of my favorite speakeasy bars in NYC! I love the vibes and the staff are so incredibly nice. We got the Swinging Neckbreaker and Illusions. I would definitely recommend this for a girls night!

Great vibe. But I would only give the place 4 stars because it felt understaffed.Be prepared for a 30-45 minute wait time during the weekends. But, there’s a bar upstairs where you can grab a drink or two while you wait.While the drinks were pretty pricey, they weren’t the best tasting. Still a 4/5 because of the great vibe and decent drinks.

Great place to sit, drink, and talk without being overcrowded or super loud. Very cool vibe and great drinks. Got the last two available seats on a Wednesday night around 9pm. Pina colada cocktail was a unique twist on a classic, much more subtle and unique flavors.

One of my favorite bars.Just downstairs from Cote, behind a curtain and meat fridges, the bar is small with dark mood lighting with a few little nooks to break the space up.Table service.I love the illusions cocktail 🍸 but there are also plenty of other choices which are really solid too.You can also order food in the bar - including wagyu or caviar.

Undercote is a phenomenal little gem hidden under Cote Steakhouse. Undercote is a cocktail lounge that serves food served in the regular restaurant allowing you the enjoyment of casual dining, but with the quality of fine dining.The bartenders Caitlin, Stephanie, and Nate were all wonderful. Quick to respond and able to guide me to the optimal cocktails. Nate was even kind enough to make me a custom cocktail of his own creation with my favorite egg whites, which was phenomenal in flavor and complexity. I learned he does create most of the cocktail menu himself.David, the manager, was very friendly and was able to help me identify the BMS on the Wagyu that was served. He brought out the certifications to show what each cut was rated at. They did not have the Miyazaki Prefecture, as it was changed for the Kagoshima Prefecture. They have a two ounce minimum, which is nice as I was able to order both the tenderloin and the ribeye.It came served with rice, lettuce, and pickled cabbage. This was a really interesting way to serve the steak. They sadly did not offer Ikayaski style, but it was still a very delicious experience.Overall Id highly recommend coming here to enjoy a great meal, fantastic service, amazing atmosphere, and creative cocktails.

From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was attentive and welcoming, making me feel right at home. If you are looking for the best cocktails New York has to offer, this is definitely a contender. The drinks were amazing, atmosphere was cool and bartenders were all very talented. It was my favorite place we went to in New York! You know they are skilled when they make your drink, and make you a second for free because they felt something was just slightly off. A great sign of not compromising on quality for a buck. Highly, highly recommend this place. If you eat meat, I hear the restaurant above is good but definitely not for us vegans.

I was able to pay a visit at Undercote on my birthday before dinner at another restaurant. When we walked into the bar, the decor made it seem like you were in another world. Tons of terrarium elements and black velvet curtains gave the bar and its lounge area an upscale feel. The bar tender allowed us to sit at the bar and take in the art of viewing them at work. I have to say, it’s truly a sight to see. We even got a bite to eat which was a tasty snack and recommended the rice cakes if you have time. Both drinks and food were incredibly fast coming out and the server was very friendly in helping us get the right drink that we would enjoy. Next time I plan to visit Cote as I’ve heard their dinner service is amazing. Right after dinner, I’ll join Undercote for a nightcap. Can’t wait!

Went here only for cocktails after wandering around looking for a good speakeasy in the neighborhood (all of which had long wait times). So glad that we went here. The cocktails were exceptional and the bartender at Cote was quick in attending and serving drinks.Next time Ill be looking to sit down in Undercote and enjoy some bite along with the booze.Update: I did go back after being on the wait-list, and it was well worth the wait. This time with a group of 5, we explored their range of cocktails and asked the bartender to make his special mix. He came out with a gin based herbaceous 🍸 which had all the right balance and was very palatable. Numero uno!

Undercote is one of the best speakeasy experiences we had in New York City. The atmosphere was not like your typical everyday same ol speakeasy, which worked...extremely well. We had a great experience here with some top-notch staff, and amazing drinks. Youd better believe this speakeasy is on our list for every return trip to NYC henceforth. Undercote is a visceral, immersive experience. You’ll realize this as soon as the crisp, humid, somehow pure “unadulterated by NYC” air reaches your lungs. Just that feeling alone elevates the tone, which is already set by the beautifully radiating bar top, lush floral scapes, and the sharp, well kept staff.Should you find yourself here and two seats at the bar are available, take it immediately. Be greeted by their kind faces, smiles at the ready. Don’t hesitate to order the Vesper martini with a citrus twist using the recommended Plymouth gin. Sit back and enjoy the gnocchi, a very familiar taste, but the texture is like cracking a crème brûlée with every bite. You have no idea, it’s wild. The remainder of the food will require a table of contents, and I haven’t gotten out of bed yet so no.I want to thank Stefanie (apologies if spelled wrong) for providing tactful and superb hospitality paired with immense kindness, William for showing their articulate attention to detail in both presentation and execution while curating our drinks. And to the remainder of the staff who I look forwards to seeing again and again as I rave about Undercote to my friends. Thank you for all of the work you do both in front of and behind the house. I think this place has taken angels share’s place as my favorite cocktails in the city. We ordered a bunch of cocktails and the quality was extremely high. Drop is a mezcal based tropical drink. Super refreshing, balanced and multi-layered. Running is my favorite. It’s gin based with no color. It honestly look like a glass of water. It only takes a small sip for you to realize that this is so special. Maybe it is the drastic contrast between the minimal look and the rich flavor that elevates the drink to a whole new level of experience. I was in disbelief after the first sip. Ordered a second one afterwards.

A speakeasy in New York is located downstairs of a Kbbq-Cote꽃, so it’s called Undercote.There is a display of their pork (?) at the entrance, which gives it a sense of mystery. Basically, you have to wait for a while, so you can make a reservation with the service staff first and write down your name.The atmosphere inside the store is great. The most special thing is the plant wall. The drinks are a bit sweet and expensive, but this is not a cheap place.I think it’s a very suitable place for a first date, bougey and classy, I really like it🥹

Speakeasy located in the basement of cote. You can enjoy original and excellent cocktails and a good champagne list in a mysterious and comfortable place with a botanical theme. The experience of eating oil rice cake skewers with champagne in the Flatiron District seems to be a memory in itself.
