Great concept! $2 for each item. The coffee is genuinely good, but for the price it’s unbelievable. There’s not much seating, but there’s some high stools against the wall - reasonable considering they’re going for turnover.The selection of pastries and snacks is broad. It’s a perfect pre-work snack or early afternoon pick-up.

I had a cappuccino. You can’t beat the price and if you use Ritual app, it’s even cheaper. It’s a small cafe but really cute and clean. Everyone was super friendly. They have milk out and it wasn’t too busy in the afternoon.

I had received many recommendations from my friends to try the matto coffee and its drinks, as a tourist I always like to try new things, I am a lover of the dry cappuccino, but I am quite picky in how they prepare my drink, but in this location I was very surprised when Elisa the barista who works there, she prepared me a magnificent dry cappuccino, an incomparable flavor I was very pleased with her service and with the coffee I would love to come back for more !!

The coffee is exceptional, pastries are delicious and the service is top tier. No matter the time of day, I am always greeted with smiles from the friendly staff. More often than not, my items are ready for me before I walk in the door- and i live 2 blocks away so I get there quick. Long story short, go to Matto if you’re searching for the best deal and great coffee!!!

I got the best capuccino ever!! not only was the coffee delicious and foamy, the barista who served it made the cutest designs on it! I went with my sister and we were both delighted! But when I stepped in, I was shocked to discover a very pretty store (with a European feel) and beautifully organized display of pastries.Speed of light service!I have no doubt Matto will quickly put all Starbucks out of business.Comments:-It would be nice to see how much we are being charged, before paying. The cashier sees, but we dont actually see the amount.-Would like to see more savoury options.-Seating area could be nicer.-I hope to see even more locations in NY and Florida

MATTO is BY-FAR my favorite grab-n-go place around. I usually just get their chai latte when one of my colleagues does a coffee run and had never visited the store myself. Every one at work has been raving about this place and the fact that everything is just $2 excluding tax. I finally decided to come check out this place myself. I asked for the Nutella shell after the amazing things my colleagues had to say about it. The guy directly put into into a bag, so make sure to mention youd like it toasted if you would. He was then toasting it for me when I pulled out my card and I was told - minimum $4 for card. I then noticed the sign that says that. I was going to get another Nutella shell, when the owner walks up , and says: Just get one if you need only one. We then chatted for a few about the store and I mentioned how amazing my colleagues and I think this place is. Not only is it great value for money, but great tasting too. Absolutely delighted with the variety of items in this store and the hospitality. Most definitely going back, with cash. ;) :)

My biggest gripe about this place is not knowing they had other locations spread around Manhattan! This is my first experience with Matto, having just recently opened up shop on 40th between Lex & Park. We were drawn in by the EVERYTHING IS $2 chalkboard so figured wed venture in to explore what they could possibly be offering. Famous Amos-sized cookies? Bite-sized avocado toast sandwiches? Three ounces of your favorite coffee? Not at all!Matto serves up a selection of sandwiches, ranging from (our favorite) the veggie burger, to egg salad, to smoked salmon, and more. The sandwiches are generous and thick, but half-size - they make for a perfect snack or small lunch if youre not starving for a full on deli hero. For drinks, they offer any sized hot or iced coffee, along with espresso-based concoctions like cappuccinos and lattes, all for...yup, $2. In fact, looking up and down the line, theres really nothing I could find that doesnt seem worth more than the price tag here. Everything weve had has been good and doesnt feel at all like they cut corners to keep their prices low.Note that aside from a small counter ledge, theres really no place to eat inside, but theres a big expanse of steps across the street, and youre also just a few blocks from Bryant Park. Also, for those interested, this place is not stroller or wheelchair friendly - you have to descend about 3-4 steps once you go inside.

The oatmeal is the best not mushy or watery and it has a variety of grains and raisins. They will pressure steam it with milk. Much tastier and healthier than the Dunkin Donuts or overhyped and ridiculously overpriced Starbucks.Compared to those two, it’s really worth voting with your consumer dollar to choose patronage of a local business (even if it is a small chain) which actually does a great job of personalizing service, rather than the above uber conglomerates which in a neoliberal economy can only succeed at the expense of small business.

Great place to grab a quick bite and refuel on caffeine. They have a large variety of sweet and savory snacks that are quite substantial for the price. The coffees and other drinks are great, and if you follow them on instagram, youll get perks now and then (free coffee, etc). Make sure to come early, as they run out of their more popular baked goods later on in the day! Highly recommend the pistachio muffin. Also, note that there is no indoor seating.

Matto on 40th street in NYC is a must try. Their menu is amazing, there is something for everyone. Everything on their menu is only $2, so it allows you to try things you may not even have considered. Skip the overpriced Starbucks and the unhealthy Dunkin and try Matto, you wont be disappointed and even if you dont like it, you are only out $2.
