    First of all I want to thank the Son Cubano staff and Amy Ortiz (Event Manager) for hosting my wedding on 9/28 . The venue surpassed my expectations. The food, drinks , and ambiance was top tier . We planned months in advance and Amy went above and beyond to accommodate our vision . I am truly humble and grateful for Amy and her staff . My family keeps raving about the amazing food and signature cocktails . Beautiful place and service was beyond superb . I can’t wait to plan my next event there . Forever thankful 🥹

    First time going to this Restaurant. A few individuals were giving me bad reviews about the food. Turned out to be false. I went to celebrate my girlfriends nieces birthday. Our server OMAR had to be the best server that weve ever had. Very polite. Gave his opinion on dishes, which by the way were Delicious entrees.

    Son Cubano was amazing. Our server Johnny was so attentive and patient with us for our 18th birthday celebration. He took time to explain things on the menu and paid very close attention to all food allergies. The food was tasty and delicious with little to no wait time for it to be served. I highly recommend the Just Peachy cocktail as well!!!

    Came here with my best friend for dinner and had a great time! The food is delicious ambience was everything in the service from Kimberly was impeccable! She made great suggestions for both food and drinks and she was extremely kind and attentive. She even informed us of upcoming events at the restaurant which we plan to attend.     I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. Not only does it have great views of the water and the city skyline, but it has amazing modern Cuban food. I went with my mom and my boyfriend for Labor Day lunch and the specials were mouth-watering!! We traveled 40 minutes to get to this restaurant because it was referred to me by a coworker and I’m so glad we finally made time to go. When I walked in the front door, I was warmly greeted by Doug, their Assistant General Manager, where I told him it was my first experience and he informed me of Fuego Fridays where they have music and entertainment around 9 pm. I am really looking forward to coming back for that. Our server, Johnny R., was polite, had several recommendations, attentive, and always had his eye on our table for when we needed his assistance. I will definitely be back for dinner, a walk, admire the city skyline at night, and dessert. If you have an open Friday night, I would recommend making a reservation here. Thank you for a great experience!

    We went to Son Cubano to celebrate a graduation. The ambience of this place is great and the location is amazing being waterfront and overlooking the NY skyline. Our server was amazing and he made sure to answer all the questions and make sure the dietary restrictions are taken care of.The food was hit or miss. Freshly squeezed lemonade as just okay but the fresh pineapple juice was good.Empenadas Mixta (beef, chicken and mango cheese) were delicious.Sweet potato wedges with tamarind glaze were one of the best flavored item on the menu. If you like sweet potatoes, this one is definitely to be tried.People who go steak were not disappointed but I felt like it could have been a little more salty and flavorful.My son ordered a burger with fries and he devoured (what kid doesn’t enjoy a good burger).My wife and I share a Paella which the server said that it’s enough for two people and he wasn’t lying. I have to say it wasn’t the best Paella I have ever had. There was not enough seafood and also felt like the turmeric was a little overpowering. Not too bad but not the best.Overall a great place to try out especially for special occasions for the ambience and the service. Food like I mentioned earlier, some really good items on the menu and some okay. To me 3.5 to 4 out of 5.

    We came here from Mother’s Day and it was very busy so our server wasn’t as attentive, which I totally understand. And I also felt like things were being rushed a little bit because we were seated for like 10 minutes and the server was already asking if we were done with our plate .There was a lot going on. The food was really good and we had a great time. The bacon and the steak were very tasty. I would definitely come back on a less busier occasion.

    My friends and I went to Son Cubano last night and I had to come and leave a review to share how exceptional everything was. We had reservations for 9 pm and were seated promptly. We must mention that we got seated outside right on the edge of the restaurant and it was the most beautiful experience. The view is breathtaking. We were lucky to have Francisco as our waiter. He was amazing and attentive. We never had to look for him because he was always a step ahead.We started off with Skirt Steak Skewers and the Frito Mix. Turned into two rounds as soon as we had the first plate. Absolutely delicious! Salmon a La Plancha, Filet Mignon Medallions, Ropa Vieja Short Rib and the Henny Guava drinks were all 10/10! Ended the night off with a Passionfruit Mousse, which was spectacular.Thanks to Francisco once again, and to the whole Son Cubano crew for hosting such a great evening. Will be back sooner than later.

    Everything and everyone was excellent. We started with Daniel H, and then switched over to Kimberly(shift change). Both servers were great and knowledgeable. First time here and although quite pricey, we feel it was worth it. Next time we’re in NJ, we’ll be back.

    I had an even at Son Cubano and it was a success, my guests were extremely happy and satisfied. The food, the service, and the ambiance were excellent!!! When I started looking for a place to celebrate my birthday I reached out to many places but something that stood out to me was Amys willingness to work with me and meet my needs. From the beginning to the end, she was so caring and detailed, I was shocked when I saw the sunflowers on my tables (she heard when I said those are my favorite flowers). She did everything with excellence. Barbara the attendant was amazing in serving us, she even made sure I had a space for my gifts and a box for my cards, and the bathroom attendant Andrew was such a gentleman. These are the details that make a party so special and memorable.

    This was the most fun restaurant I have ever dined/celebrated at. We (13 of us) went here to celebrate my wifes birthday and it was a blast. The food was awesome, the drinks were great, our server was attentive and fun and the ambience was spectacular. My wife and our group really enjoyed our night here. The DJ was super spectacular. We didnt leave the restaurant till almost 2AM. Our group was of Caribbean background and the DJ entertained us highly.... other people who we had no affiliation with joined our party/dancing and overall we had so much fun. I definitely will recommend others to come here to enjoy the great experience of the food and people.The only drawback we had was that, it took a while for us to get seated, but given the size of our group it was understandable on a busy Saturday night. Outside of that, Son Cubano is very highly recommended

    Everything was absolutely fantastic. Our food was great. Drinks were amazing, but service topped it all. Our server Jose was extremely pleasant, professional, attentive, knowledgeable and just outright phenomenal. The location is perfect for any event, and right outside you have the most amazing views of NYC. Will definitely be back. The ONLY suggestion I have is, demand a dress code. As beautiful and presentable as this place is, people shouldn’t be walking in with sneakers or jean shorts. I think its time we bring classy outings back. Thank you for having us!

    This place is truly a mix of classy and lively. The look of the place is very chic then the Hispanic music all night keeps the vibes up.     Delicious brunch menu and unique drinks!I recommend waiting until 12pm for Sunday brunch. My husband and I arrived early for an 11:15 reservation and the front door was still locked.     This place is fabulous from the scenic waterfront view of new jersey in the rear, music played by the disc jockey with all genres, ambience of the restaurant decor, excellent food, great drinks, and overall attentive and fast service. This place is so good that I visited with several parties again and again. The overall pricing is reasonable. I absolutely love the bartender Olga, she definitely knows how to make the drink just the way you want it. You can find parking on the street yourself or pay valet $10-15 in cash. The style of the restaurant is definitely dress to impress which I love. You must book reservations to attend this restaurant and use a credit card on file for seating which is charged per person in your party whether they come or not. They really don’t do walk-ins. You must book in advance if you want to experience this restaurant. Also, if you are celebrating a party and you bring a cake, they charge $4 per slice of the cake they cut for each person in your party, and they hold the cake for you until your ready to celebrate and be served.

    Port Imperial has a great view to midtown Manhattan and Son Cubano offers this amazing place to eat and have some drinks with its spectacular atmosphere next to the Hudson River.The restaurant is big, nicely decorated, with high ceilings and great location. The menu offers many latin-touch dish options with a high-end presentation.The food is delicious and nicely presented in the table.Youll need a reservation to avoid any unpleasant waiting. Once you get a table service is great, the only downside is their approach to potential customers who call on the phone or show up without reservation (happened to me a couple of times) which could be a lot kinder.

My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday and I had an absolute blast.The ambiance, drinks, food and service were great!So cannot wait to come back here for a good meal and drinks in the spring, the summer or fall when the weather is nice to soak in the open air atmosphere outside.*UPDATE*I went back in September of the following year and had dinner outside overlooking the Hudson River and the New York City skyline !!!Gorgeous 😍

    The food here is very good. Everything is flavorful. A couple of people in my party of 13 thought their meat was a bit salty, but most of us thought it was fine. They have a very good prefixed menu for events that call for the that sort of thing. And their white sangria is very good. I dont remember the name of the woman that was taking care of us (my partner believes it was Rachel) but she was great! The other servers were, too. There was also a live DJ, and theres a very nice view right outside of youre looking for a photo op at night.

    I visit this place once a year to celebrate my best friends birthday, and seldomly for other special occasions. Weve been coming here for the past three years, and I have no complaints about the service - the staff are well-experienced and do a good job. However, parking can be a challenge, so be sure to carry cash for valet service and make reservations in advance, as theres always an event going on.The food is mostly excellent, although I did have one bad experience with undercooked rice and fishy shellfish with their paella. For the lunch menu, I recommend the tuna tartare tacos, lobster and shrimp tacos, grilled octopus, garlic shrimp, and oysters for seafood lovers. The shrimp salad and ceviche were decent, but Im not a fan of sweet fruits paired with seafood. The meat appetizers are also great, especially the empanadas, steak skewers, and clothesline bacon. For lunch entrees, try the salmon mojo and short ribs ropa nueva for their creative flavors and perfect seasoning.For dinner, start with the butternut squash soup and clothesline bacon. All their meats are excellent, including the pork loin, shank, roasted chicken, and ribs ropa vieja. Their fish is cooked perfectly moist and tender. I might give the paella another chance. They also have tableshare options for steak lovers and a variety of desserts, including quadro leches and flan. Overall, this establishment offers a luxurious dining experience with excellent service, a diverse menu, and beautiful surroundings. I hope this review helps you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

    Amazing night at son cubano. We had Jose M as our server and he was very polite and answered all of our questions for our non Spanish speaking family members. Service is always superb. Perfect location for a special occasion.Delicious food and presentation, but overpriced considering the fact that we are expected to leave our table within 1.5 hours of being seated. We are paying for the experience, which felt speedy. The staff is quick to take your plate to keep things moving. I had to keep saying “hold on” because I wanted to finish my guacamole even though the chips were finished.The gratuity was already added to our check for a party of 4. I was going to give a minimum of 18 percent anyway as our server was great, but philosophically felt it should have been an option.

    Delicious foods and okay cocktails.we love the Cuban sandwich, steak & eggs and aged beef burger. The cocktails is very light like no alcohol in it.     Nice experience at Son Cubano. Beautiful views and ambiance, and that’s what you pay for. Food was ok, I’ve definitely had better. We order a variety of appetizers which were good, but not impressed. I expected better for the crab cakes as well. We ordered skirt steaks, very tasty, Parrillada was good but keep in mind it only feeds 2 people maybe 3. Comes with truffle fries which were good,but must order other sides if sharing with 3 people. The desserts were AWFUL!!! 4 leches cake was decent. But the flan and hazelnut cake were awful. How do you mess up a flan in a Spanish restaurant is beyond me. The cake was stale. Matthew the waiter was great and so was the other wait staff. We did feel rushed as some waiters wanted to take meals away without finishing our plate. Again, you pay for the view and ambiance… it was beautiful. I would return but maybe skip some appetizers and definitely skip the desserts.

    We booked Son Cubano for my daughter’s college graduation brunch for its food reputation! I was looking for a place to have amazing food and an amazing aesthetic look as well. This venue gave me the whole package! Amy was my venue planner! Amy knew every detail of the venue and how we could best structure the package to fit my vision and budget.Amy did a fantastic job making sure every detail happened according to plan.  My guests were received with welcome drinks and the staff was very professional, happy and energetic! Amy and her staff ran my event flawlessly.The bottom line is that on the day of my event, Son Cubano showed up and executed the event beautifully, from the decor, to the food, to the event management.I have been getting non-stop compliments on the party from our friends and family about how awesome the brunch was and how much fun they had.  Can’t thank the team from Son Cubano ( Barbara and Silvan) enough.

    (11/18/23) The setting and atmosphere are incredibly attractive and visually appealing. My wife’s cousin and us met up for dinner, but we got there before them. At the bar, we took a seat and ordered a drink. The bartenders, along with the security staff, showed us great hospitality, kindness, and helpfulness. Our table was near the window and the view was breathtaking. The food was delicious and the server provided great service. We had a great night and found everything to be very pleasant. While some may find it expensive, I believe you’re paying for the complete glamorous experience, the high-quality ambiance and cuisine, the prompt and friendly service (although the hostess area could be improved), your safety, and above all, the prime location. Everyone should come to this side of the city to enjoy the whole experience at Son Cubano as they dont know what they are missing!! Restaurants in Manhattan like Sona by Priyanka cannot even provide comparable experience to Son Cubano!!!
