    Amazing place. It has so many different rooms, all with different vibes. The manager, bartenders and everyone that works there are so fun. Even the customers! Ordered lamb and it was perfect. Would recommend this place, especially if you have an event you need a venue for :)

    Friendly and professional staff, gorgeous newly renovated massive restaurant and the perfect spot for a private room small bday party COVID style! We played music videos and had a dance party with our covid bubble. The most fun I’ve had in a long time. Food was amazing and cocktails are 🔥🔥🔥. The backyard is like a tiny hidden oasis on the UWS.

    Me and my partner Miguel hosted a wedding reception at Pekarna. Everything was perfect. Dean (the manager) was so nice, helpful every step, he made the experience so great. The food was amazing, the drinks as well. They provided everything we could possibly need, including a projector and sound system. It was just a wonderful experience that me, my partner and our guests will remember forever. If you want to host an intimate wedding reception or similar party, this is literally THE BEST PLACE in New York City. Wish I could give them more stars. Thanks Dean!

    The Alice in Wonderland gin and tea parry was marvelous! it was fun and unique.. the staff did a great job. the place was transformed into a wonderland! definitely will recommend

    I had an incredible birthday party hosted at Pekarna recently! My party was 20-25 people and the various rooms at the venue made it easy to pick a good space. We had our own music piped into the space and the team worked with me to make sure it was set up. We were able to plan an intimate dance/hors d’oeuvres party in just over a week! I’ll be using again for the next celebratory occasion.

    Jay the Bartender was freaking amazing and made the night so much fun. Such a welcome atmosphere and safe haven. I went to their Beauty and the Beast experience which was incredible. Such a fun time. Highly recommend this place for nice night out.

    20/10 experience!!! Originally came for the beauty and the beast experience which we enjoyed. Interactive drinking with enthusiastic, funny and kind staff. To then have dinner at Perkana. Jay the bartender makes fabulous and tasteful drinks. Julia and Beebee beautiful and amazing customer service. Felt welcomed and well served. Food is spectacular. Overall a special gem with great quality service and genuinely good people. Thank you all! We look forward to seeing you again!

    We had a great time at Pekarna! One of the few places on the UWS with outdoor seating thats not right on the street with traffic/bicycles/etc. You have to go through the restaurant and downstairs to get to the garden area out back, but its nice and quiet and there are heaters (very necessary at night in January!). Delicious cocktails and a nice menu of small plates - its no small feat to open a new restaurant during a pandemic! Im excited to see what they do when the pandemic is over and theyre able to expand their seating/kitchen capacity. In addition to the great drinks, both the owner and the bartender were gracious and warm. I look forward to going back!

    Randomly stopped here while visiting NYC after walking through part of central park, and it was a great experience. Drinks were top notch, bartender was very friendly, and the food was really good. Overall a great atmosphere. It was a perfect stop for us and one of the highlights of our trip.

    It is generally a nice place for dinner. They tend to keep it a bit cold indoors so that can be unpleasant. Good tastes acceptable in general, but nothing extraordinary. Drinks are usually done well. They keep sinking the lights (not sure why) so it gets harder to see and can become unpleasantly dark. But over all is a nice place.

    We had Pekarna host a memorial event for us - Dean was super responsive, and gave us options which worked for our budget. Everyone who attended remarked on how they enjoyed the food and the space was great! Recommend highly

    Nice ambience, very good food, eclectic menu. Staff was very welcoming and they have very socially distanced inside dining. (Small back outside area was too cold for us). Since they opened during Covid, we will really try to support them. Promising more Slovenian dishes when it gets busier, so cant wait to try that.... Really nice night out.

    The chicken croquette and lamb rack are absolutely amazing!!!Boar with rice is a little too sweet, and so is Kremšnita cake.We had to asked for a little bit more strawberry jam to balance the sweetness of the cream/syrup….

    Amazing staff, great atmosphere, and fantastic food and drinks. Their karaoke event on Monday, and Open Mic on Tuesday are so much fun, absolutely recommend on a night out in the area.

    I was mind blown by the amount of space in this place— can’t wait to see what events and private parties can be hosted here once restrictions lift. The Mai Tai and my fiancé’s Melting Pot drinks were amazing, the fries and croquets were flavorful and my matzo ball soup was plentiful and hearty. My fiancé later mentioned to me that his burger was on the lukewarm side and wasn’t expecting chipped beef in which he thought ground beef would’ve been more flavorful but there were sauces available for him to put on it. Regardless, we’ve been looking forward to coming here and cannot wait to come back for drinks, apps and try other menus like brunch as well!

    Went to Pekarna for the Beauty and the Beast cocktail experience. It was amazing and the actors was hilarious. They were true to the fairy tale not the movie and the drinks were very good.

    Went here for the Alice in wonderland cocktail experience . Event is in the lower level. Very nice staff.. welcoming and warm. I had a baileys drink which hit the spot. Event was fun . cocktail drinks ehhhh were not my favorite.. they should think to give more Cookies too BTW 😊 ... lol overall 4 stars

    I visited Pekarna with some friends for a birthday party and celebrated in one of the private rooms downstairs. It was amazing to have a space big enough for us, but still separate from others especially now. The food was amazing and unique, plus the drinks were yummy. We had a dance party with the big screen and loved the atmosphere.

    I visited Pekarna NYC because my friend was performing in a stand-up comedy show being held in one of their private rooms. A relatively small space on the lower level, it turned out to be a great venue for an intimate show. Food and drinks were available for purchase at the bar to be enjoyed during the performance. I didnt have anything to eat but, as an audience member, I did get a drink at a discounted price.

    Pekarna has an incredible cocktail selection, and the wait staff was lovely and knowledgeable to suggest drinks that we all loved! Also the place is huge, so we felt very safe eating indoors.

    Explore Hidden’s Tinseltown pop-up experience -A friend and I recently attended Explore Hidden’s Tinseltown in NYC. I haven’t found a place to put a review, so I’m posting here. The ticket cost $22 and was from 9:30-11. With all the new holiday bars popping up, we assumed that we’d be walking into one of those. We arrived 3 minutes late, but waited an additional 15 minutes for the “event to begin.” We arrived at a low key bar on the UES called, Pekarna. I’ve posted some photos to their Yelp page. We were offered drinks to buy and told to wait for the elf to appear on the stairs.When the elf arrived we were ushered downstairs to a beautifully laid out holiday bar, complete with the on screen Yule Log. Spacing was tight with room for 20 people max. We received a welcome cocktail and chose our seats. Shortly after sitting a group of 5 showed up, so we moved to a two top to accommodate the larger group. The operation included 3 people, the elf, the bartender, and our host.Drink menus were provided and we were handed two activity two activity sheets. After a quick emoji movie guessing game, we were given a dry erase board and played some trivia. The gaming host was a bit overwhelmed and missed our winning answers, but gave us a prize for tying with the table to our side. The atmosphere was social and interactive.Most couples came on dates and a one of two friend groups added to the mix which made for very entertaining Dear Santa letters that were anonymously read aloud at the end of the night.We had purchased a $15 drink add on per ticket before we arrived. Our host was unaware of this, but ended up offering us 3 different types of liquors with simple mixers. I managed to get a brandy eggnog cream, but the only other table who bought the same ticket add on passed on drinks when the options were not readily available.Despite the delay and slight disorganization, the night ended up being fantastic!Everyone left jovial and the team members agreed to take photos with us and answer any of our questions. We exited just after 11pm which was nice as our start time was delayed.As we were leaving, I managed to check out the adjacent room where the Alice in Wonderland brunch is hosted. The space also appears to accommodate 20 people and is cutely set up with cool and creepy Cheshire Cat eyes. I don’t know that it would be worth the cost. However, if the food is as good as Alice’s Tea Cup, it would be worth the stay. The hosts kept us laughing and it put us in the holiday spirit.

    Pekarna NYC is a Slovenian-American RestaurantPekarna NYC will be a first-of-its-kind authentic Slovenian-American spot with multiple levels: “The venue will feature a restaurant and cocktail bar on the first floor and will also have seating in the basement and backyard. The basement will be able to accommodate events in 3 separate function rooms.” It will combine the now-vacant spaces of Papa John’s/Subway and Amsterdam 99¢ and plans to utilize a small outdoor area in the back.

    What an awesome experience! Completely welcomed and given top notch service from the Australian owner right on down! A multi level, multi room establishment with A+ Slovenia inspired food and drinks! Mo and Frankie took great care of us! And Paris Hilton is filming her new show here so you know its got a hip vibe! Visit the dance club room downstairs! Get in on this place! And the Lamb was AMAZING!

    I had a post-nuptial wedding shower here. We rented out half of the top floor for three hours. Dean, the owner, was very present and helpful throughout the whole process from inquiry to closing out our tab the night of. We had passed tray appetizers for our group and a cash bar for the rest. High recommend for a party about the size of 50! It was a great night!

    I threw a surprise birthday party for my husband at Pekarna and it was an incredible night!The owner Dean was so kind, polite, professional and accommodating all along. He went above and beyond to accommodate all my requests. The service the night of the event was flawless. From the bartenders to the waiters, everyone at Pekarna did all they can for us to have a perfect experience. Food and drinks were on point 👌🏻and the prices were very fair.I am very picky but I can confidently say everything exceeded my expectations.     I would recommend Pekarna NYC for private/special events. We hosted a surprise engagement party for a friend in May and the Pekarna team was so easy to accomodate and work with. They did everything for us from: entertainment set-up, custom cocktails, option to bring external food all at a reasonable price. The staff there are so friendly and attentive to your event needs and the owner Dean is a great guy to work and chat with.

    I love the atmosphere, mood, music, food, drinks, and service at this place. Its sophisticated, chill, and cool. The drinks are top notch and strong. I started getting tipsy after one glass of wine and it didnt give me heartburn. The food is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. My only suggestion is to ease up on the cajun seasoning on the fries because it made them a little salty.

    Im a huge foodie and Pekarna hits all the right notes! From the to-die-for beet salad to the perfectly cooked fish entrees (my favorite was the cod), to the exceptional lamb (be warned - the portions are huge and the 3 rack portion was enough to feed 2+ people), everything was wonderful. Their cocktail menu is much cooler than one might assume for its humble UWS locale, and they are also one of the few places that makes my favorite drink, a Ramos Gin Fizz. The sheer manpower required to make that drink (you literally need to shake the cocktail shaker at full strength for 15 minutes) means that my lazy a$$ will never try to recreate it at home and it is such a joy to find a bar is actually willing to have this on their menu.(There is a saying: If you want to annoy a bartender, order a Ramons Gin Fizz...lol). On my 2nd trip I managed to snag one of their prime backyard seats, and it does not feel like youre in middle of NYC - a much needed escape during lockdown! I highly recommend Pekarna and cant wait to go back when they bring out their summer menu!
