This is the glown up, grown up gay bar we’ve always wanted. Early in the week, very convivial cocktails and I’m told very buzzy vibes come weekend. -

I go to animal regularly and usually have a great time. Music is on point. Staff are mostly friendly. And the vibes are what I love. However, there is a huge theft problem, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. This is common at a lot of gay bars, so not sure what the staff can do to mitigate this, but just beware or your phone and wallet when you go. -

Fun spot with great drinks. Nice for a quiet drink earlier in the evening and gets packed in the evening. Always a good time and something for everyone -

So far the best in design, ambiance and music. Literally the djs are killing it!Lots of places play very vanilla pop and disco and I’m tired of it. But this place was groovy and very strong electronic beats 😍 -

It is a decent gay bar. It has a beautiful outdoor seating. But I feel personally the vibes are chiller relatively, which I appreciate. Friendly staff that make you feel welcomed especially with good prices drinks! -

Space is fantastic, bartenders were friendly and the music was phenomenal. I stumbled upon this place out of coincidence and will surely be back. -

Definitely have to walk inside to feel the vibes. Love the inside and outside areas. I know under new ownership love the direction it’s going. More of a calm vibes to chill sit have drinks and vibe out during the week. Fills up definitely during the weekend. I’ll wait to see how this plays out after some time being open. -

From the door staff to every service worker inside, I’ve been treated with nothing but patience and kindness, despite being as busy as it is oftentimes. This is a huge sticking point for me. They’ve helped me get my phone back and without issue. A regular to-go spot for my group whenever I’m in town. Plus, the music is waaaay better than most other queer spots in New York. -

Best bar in NYC.Perfect indoor / outdoor space, crowd and atmosphere but unlimited bartenders included very moody Asian bartender.Hopefully he will be nicer next time. We need smile not sad faces… -

Amazing space, drinks, staff, music, sound system…they have it all! If you are coming to dance and party, you won’t be disappointed! Boris(Berghain) popping in for a secret all night set…what more could you want?! -

Great new spot. Alternative but elevated. Decent DJs actually spinning. Cool vibe. Coat check is a nightmare (avoid). -
Review 12 (2024-12-04 - Rating: 5)
Drinks are great, music is always a vibe, but can get packed and the bar can be hard to get to (bartenders are fast and efficient though!) a MUST to pregame or dance the night away in BK -

Fun, hot, dance vibes. Way lit now than before (knew of the space before when it was called Breakers but much more lively now as a gay bar) -

I absolutely loved Animal. My bartender Niko was very sweet. He was doing the frozen drinks so I kept coming back just for him. I’ll definitely be back! Great staff -

There’s nothing else like it. People talking. Meeting. Engaged. Dancing. Making out. The best DJs. The best drinks. Staff makes you feel like family. This is what a queer bar should be. -

Love it. Girl it’s time to retire the glass cups tho -
Review 24 (2024-04-27 - Rating: 5)
Ambience and crowd were great, but YOU NEED EITHER MORE BARTENDERS OR QUICKER BARTENDERS. Waiting 20 minutes (twice) to be served at the bar ruined the whole experience for me and my friends. 3 bartenders on a Friday night isn’t enough for a venue with such a large capacity. Will stick with The Exley for now. -
