Fun Mexican/ Peruvian restaurant with live entertainment. We got a live samba dancer. Apparently one is allowed to get up and dance with her. Dont sit in the backroom. The waiters dont see you and forget about you . The music gets loud and the place gets dark. No e private party room available. Nice bathrooms. The guacamole is served a bit too cold (premade) but it was good.

I recently had lunch with colleagues at Frida and had an amazing time. The ambience is very, whats the word Im looking for? FLORAL!Frida has a very cozy outdoor seating area, but we decided to sit inside since it was slightly windy. Its pretty spacious inside and the counter bar is a pretty good size.The lunch menu has a little bit of everything but not overwhelming which is a good thing. I had the duck tacos (3 in one order) and they were delicious!!I definitely want to come back and try their dinner menu and cocktails. 🍸Pro-tip: Start off with the chips and guacamole along with the crispy tuna on tortillas. 🥑

Wow…… danced the salsa with a beautiful dancer…. I’m terrible and she made me feel like a star lol. Food and service was the best I have ever had. Roberto at the bar was excellent!’The Birria tacos were probably the best I ever had ! I just came back from Guadalajara and Mexico City this last year and Frida was better!! I will always come to visit!! One suggestion offer some easier plates for people who don’t have an expanded palate. My 17 year old son would love regular tacos… lol

Brought my GF who loves Frida (and Mexican food) here for a surprise. It was one of the best restaurants we’ve been to (not just in NYC). Decor was spot on Frida vibes, the food was impeccable and our server was a delight. We also went on a Sunday evening when their was live music and it was the cherry on top! They also know how to make a mean cocktail! Really ticked every box!

This is definitely worth the trip! Get the chicken enchiladas in Mole sauce!!! And the tamarind margaritas were phenomenal! Not too sweet, perfect! This place is really prefect for anyone.. you could dress casual or fancy, and bring kids! They were wonderfully kid-friendly! Service was perfect!

My fiance reserved a table for 2, so we can dine as a post-engagement date. He chose this restaurant because Im Peruvian, yet we also love Mexican food, the menu looked perfect. However, they never told him that for his reservation, the menu would be fixed. This was a bummer because we wanted to try the Lomo Saltado. Regardless it was a very special dinner for us, and we got scallops, anticuchos as an appetizer, ribeye as a main and for dessert the lava xocolatl cake & creme brulee. The food was delicius and excellent, great ingredients and everything blended well. I wished they offered certain Peruvian sauces that go perfect with the fried cassavas, we had to ask them after we were almost done with the meal. They did have one of the best purple corn home made juices ive had in NYC! do wish they had Peruvian red wine. They restaurants heat wasnt really working either I was very cold. I highly recommend dining at Frida and for service to be a bit more proactive in representing the culinary of Mexico and Peru.

Delicious lunch on Cinco de Mayo. The atmosphere was lively and very festive. The service was friendly, professional and excellent. Our waitress, Isabella couldn’t had been any nicer, courteous and professional as well as the rest of the staff team. Michael, the manager kept an eye on everything, making sure the customers were happy. The BEST was Camila, who came at the end to thank us and ask how things went. She went on to offer us a shot of Tequila (Don Julio, the good stuff). I shared I was celebrating an early bday in NYC. She offered a second shot with a huge smile, friendliness, charm and nice conversation. She’s a true gem. Thank you for an excellent lunch . See you on our next trip to the Big Apple!

Went here for restaurant week with my coworker. I will be back. The restaurant is super cute but we decided to eat outside. The employees were the utmost professional, funny, and a pleasure to have been served by them. Armando was our server and he was so attentive, professional and overall very nice guy. The owner Jorge is one of the best human beings on planet earth. It’s hard not to like him lol. I will definitely become a regular customer at Frida Midtown. We were very happy with the delicious food, service, and the restaurant was spotless! There was always someone there to take our plates and provide us with more drinks lol. Staff wanted to make sure we were happy and had a great time and they succeeded.

I was really pleasantly surprised with my dinner at Frida. First let me start by saying the space is absolutely adorable with a dark, mysterious sexy theme throughout. We came for restaurant week and were able to get a pre fixe dinner. I started with the muscles which were my personal highlight for the meal. They were perfectly chilled with wonderful sauces. For our mains we got the tuna and the shrimp enchiladas. Both were good and the portions were big. The tres leches was also amazing and very classic.

There were nice decorations and friendly/helpful staff.Most food was great like the enchiladas, guacamole and Frida salad. Really liked this place the second time around. We ate inside and the decor is gorgeous. Service is really good and quick, and the staff is incredibly nice. Our waiter Mark was great, super friendly. We had the guac and chips and ceviche Frida as an appetizer. Both very good. For entrees, I believe my mom had the Frida salad (technically an appetizer), and my dad got the Mar y Tierra tacos (filet Mignon and shrimp). They shared tuna tostaditas. I got the salmon limeño. To drink, we had a Paloma, red sangria, and the Magdalena. All were good, especially the Magdalena! The salmon I got was just okay (not as flavorful as the other items but definitely not bad) and the mashed potatoes and asparagus it came with were yummy. Overall, very happy with the experience and my parents LOVED it. So glad I got to take them here :)

We went for valentines day and honestly a great date. There were countless heart balloons, and the service was topnotch. The atmosphere was so beautiful, festive, and lovely. We were so hungry and devoured the whole meal faster than it was prepared. We loved everything except the lobster in the surf and turf. It wasnt worth it in my opinion. We had ceviche classic, yuka fries, birria tacos, and baja tacos. It was a solid pick of the best. The pricing was very very high for what it is but the food and flavors were so good. Our server was so sweet. He offered to take pictures of us and was super funny. Definitely should have skipped the lobster. It was a wonderful date.

I live nearby and wanted to try something new to me in my neighborhood. The space is compact but has a very nice ambiance. Small bar area when you walk in. We sat at the banquet seating next across from the bar.The sound level was buzzy but able to have a proper conversation without having to raise your voice.The speciality cocktails are very Instagramable. The food was good. Nothing outstanding but tasty and satisfying.Good date spot for the neighborhood.

Was looking to end a night out with a great dinner and this was exactly what we needed. Guacamole was tasty and fresh, wine was generously poured, and the birria tacos were what made this 5 starts. The beef was so flavorful with no off-putting chunks of fat, and it was perfectly nestled into two corn tortillas (doubled up) with cheese. I had never thought to dip my tacos into beef broth, but now Im sort of wondering what Ive been missing my whole life. Also a very trendy but intimate vibe here, def worth a stop.

We chose Frida Midtown as the spot to celebrate my master’s graduation and we absolutely loved everything about the experience! The food and cocktails are a 10/10, especially the ceviche, the tostadas, the pulpo and the lychee martinis. The service was perfect - quick, super friendly and attentive. The restaurants itself is absolutel gorgeous and has beautiful floral decorations and wall murals. I 100% recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!

My friends and I came for dinner on a Saturday evening and we were seated promptly as we had made reservations beforehand. The back of the restaurant is quieter for a more intimate setting. Downstairs space also has a private dining area that you can reserve for special events.Drinks are interesting — my friend’s cocktail came with a bubble over the glass that popped. Fun feature for those who like to have special cocktails. Our server was attentive but he forgot to bring us a few items so we asked other servers to help, which was no big deal.Food was tasty, it is Mexican/Peruvian fusion. I ordered the steak and lobster tacos, which had decently sized meat portions. The lobster was really buttery. We also had guacamole for the table, which I highly recommend. They will refill your chips for you multiple times, on request.The dessert was the star for me. We ordered the chocolate lava cake, Tres leches, and crème brûlée. Highly recommend all three!All in all, a fun spot to try for an intimate dinner with a small group of friends or special someone.

Got takeout from here tonight for 4 people. Everything was delicious, the food was prepared quickly, and the service was friendly. Peruvian food is a fusion of many cuisines, so most of the flavors are familiar, but used in different ways. We especially liked the esquites (a dish made of special corn niblets a delicious aioli), the causa rellena (a potato casserole), the arroz chaufa (fried rice, we got one with mixed seafood and one with chicken, both delicious) and lomo saltado (steak with potatoes in a delicious sauce). The restaurant interior is beautiful and modern, softly lit, would be great for a romantic dinner. Can’t wait to come back and eat in next time.

The AC wasn’t working there well and the server himself acknowledged it’s often like that there and he couldn’t do anything. It definitely impacted our experience. The server was hit or miss and even apologized once for disappearing for awhile.Overall food is really good and it’s definitely on the pricier side. The restaurant also adds small fees like $2 for takeaway boxes which I found unnecessary when you’re already spending so much for the food. We might come back but will sit in the main area.
