Quite an aesthetic joint - the food is pretty good, too. Highly recommend if you are in the area - considering its close to the Ferry to Liberty/Ellis and WallStreet Bull.My only gripe with this place was that the staff was very lukewarm - the whole place was empty, and they seated us next to another occupied table and they have this odd policy of only serving happy hour drinks to those sitting at the bar.Anyway, I hope our experience was not the norm. The food certainly made up for it.

The restaurant has a nice decor and vibe. We were there for lunch and it wasnt too busy. We were in a hurry and the food came quickly enough. The nachos were excellent! It had a great not too hard crisp to it and just thin enough. The toppings were really good too. In general I really enjoyed the food and I would go back.

Love this place🥰 I came here with my best friend on the Friday before New Years Eve. The atmosphere was spectacular and waiters attentive. Tacos were great and chicken empanadas hit the spot. I recommend the Crazy Bull for a drink but all their drinks looked good. We had an amazing time. I love the sugar skull murals and all the details. It really made a difference ❤❤❤I will definitely be back here!!!

Great vibe, excellent service, a fantastic collection of non-alcoholic mocktails, and good food - there is a lot to like about Toro Loco.We ordered the Nachos Toro Loco, the Pollo Taqueria, and the Burrito Loco with shrimp. While all the dishes were great, there wasnt anything that we were wowed by. The drinks were great, and we were quite pleased with the non-alcoholic options on the menu.Overall, we greatly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to others!

Loved our dinner at Toro Loco last night! We got the upstairs balcony to ourselves with a great view of downtown New York! The fish tacos topped with pickled purple cabbage are some of the best I’ve had. But surprisingly, the burger was the favorite for me and many others. Cooked very well and the fries were delicious too!

“Solid 4/5” I went there on a date and wow. My girl loved it and so did I, very very affordable prices and nice food. Now I do believe that there could be more flavor inside of the food, but the drink where a solid 10. Now apart from that, the hostess did seat up within 5 min from entering which is good. And the waitresses did come soon to give us menus. Now the only part I did not like which took off a star from this review. Was “customer attention” the waitress did come quick to give us menus, but to take our order she did have us order last even though we where first to arrive. And then she took about 10 minutes to give me my receipt after I paid the check. Which I did not like, if I could improve anything. It would be customer service and making sure that the waiters are taking care of there tables, I had busboys more attentive to me than the actual waitress. But still solid experience.

This is my after work place. Sal is great at mixing drinks and will make you feel like your in Cheers! The food is very good. I would recommend the quesibirria tacos! The elite burger and the wings with their signature Toro sauce is fantastic. They are open for brunch on the weekends!

I absolutely adore this spot. My best friend and I visited the Friday before New Years Eve. The ambiance was breathtaking, and the servers were exceptionally attentive. The tacos were superb, and the chicken empanadas were divine. I highly recommend trying the Crazy Bull for a drink, though every beverage on their menu seemed enticing. We had a fantastic time. Im captivated by the sugar skull murals and the intricate details throughout the place. It truly enhanced the experience. Ill definitely be coming back in the future.

As we were walking around in NYC we were starting to get hungry so we were looking for a place to eat. We found Toro Loco and did not disappoint. The only thing is we wished they had was Jarritos or Aguas frescas. That would have gotten it more stars. The ambience is nice so we opted to sit outside in the back. We both ordered the sopa de tortilla which was awesomely delicious. And we shared tacos de carne asada. It was soooo good. Glad we found this hidden location.

Toro loco after visiting the famous Bull= Perfect Date night 🐂🎯This is what it looks like around 8:30-9. Candle was a nice touch . We were lucky to get a coner so we could see the whole restaurant , staff were attentive and food and drinks were good . Drinks more than food . Do beware that the portions are “cute” so if you have a big appetite or really hungry I’d order 2 course. Lot of empty wall space as well could use a bit more look to itOverall 89/100✅

Nice cozy location it is a fine in restaurant so don’t expect a fast food taco stand. The food was delicious I had the Alpastor Tacos and my friend had the Carne Asada tacos and we both though they were amazing the salsas they served were delicious they are spicy but not overly spicy if you are a hot sauce enthusiast. My favorite salsa was the dark green salsa that came with the empanadas. And the tortilla soup was amazing it was perfectly spicy. The service was amazing the waitress was very attentive to what we needed.

Really great place. Drinks are amazing and the food is authentic Mexican. Great ambiance and music to match. A bit on the pricier side for the drinks but that is expected for FiDi. Love how they serve shots with a martini glass with salt and lime slices to match! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Would recommend giving it a try if youre in the area.

What a fabulous Sunday funday with the girls at Toro Locos drag brunch! The ambience was electric - live, energetic, and totally infectious! The drag queens were ABSOLUTE QUEENS (pun intended), and the DJ was spinning sick beats. But what really impressed us was the delicious food and drinks, and the fast service to boot! We had an absolute blast, and it was an extremely fun day out. If youre looking for a vibrant and lively spot to celebrate a special occasion or just a fun day with friends, Toro Locos drag brunch is a MUST-TRY! 4/5 stars!

I cannot speak highly enough about this place! Came in for drag brunch on Sunday (4/14). Had an 11:45 reservation for 2 and my friend was running SUPER late. Everyone was extremely accommodating and kind. The host, servers, bar staff went above and beyond despite how busy they were. Jose and Javier at the bar were so sweet and kept me hydrated. The drag show itself was incredible. All in all, this place feels like a party and you end up getting super drunk and have an amazing time in the process! I’ll be back:)))

I only write reviews if my experience was extremely pleasing or horrid. My partner bought tickets to a NYE event at Toro Loco. However, when we showed up, the restaurant was extremely packed and it was nearly impossible to get a seat. As you can imagine this situation was unpleasant and I refused to enter 2020 waiting in line for a table. As we were getting ready to leave, the manager, Terry saved the night. After 40 mins- an hour wait, we finally obtained a seat. The drinks were really good, delicious food, fantastic/fast service, and the burlesque show was engaging.I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if my partner and I didnt have to wait ~60 mins to get seated. Next time, the restaurant can do a better job at managing reservations as well as limiting the pre purchased event tickets

Like, people crying at the bar, people sitting on the ground outside wasted face. Not sure if it was just a full moon out that night or what lol. And theyve got the party atmosphere: dark lighting, loud dancy music/reggaeton, etc. But food and drink wise, everything was delicious. Those surf and turf tacos were by far the best be ones Ive EVER had and the tortillas are clearly fresh/handmade. WELL WELL WELL HOW THE TURN TABLES TURN! Iight so boom. The last time I went it was on a slight date tip so I tried to be cute & refined. NOPE. I pulled up with my homegirl for brunch and OMG YES YES YES!So they dont take reservations for brunch, but its fine our wait was about 30-45 mins and theres a huge sitting area down the street from the restaurant. Cool. After 45 mins exactly our table was waiting for us. They have outdoor seating & plenty of it, tables inside were 25% capacity and separated by plastic barries...AND THEY HAVE AN OUTDOOR PATIO! The first time I arrived I didnt make it that far into the restaurant but the outdoor patio was simply beautiful. One of the members of your party have to fill out the contact tracing form and you must show it to your server before they take your order. #NiceSo once all of that was taken care of...its brunch time. One thing I like about this place....MARGS FOR BRUNCH. My homegirl isnt a fan of too much champagne, it just makes her sleepy and bloated. So we opted for the margs. Tell me why after ONE DRINK we were feeling itttt. Literally, just one. I love it here. Our waiter made sure our glasses were filled alwayssss. LOVE IT HERE!I ordered the Cheese Crust Steak taco and fries. YOU READ IT RIGHT! Grilled steak WRAPPED IN AN OAXACA CHEESE CRUST. Let me tell you, I figured it would be good based on the description but OH MY GOD IT WAS AMAZING. I took one bite and said girl, you in for a good time! My homegirl loved her surf and turf burrito. We ate it all. Everything. To the last bite. Drank until we couldnt anymore, then ordered tequila shots for the road.Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY! No question. Thank you Toro Loco!

Wow what a phenomenal time! Toro Loco was beyond accommodating with the reservation changes I consistently made and handling my party of 18. We went for the drag show and glad to say this place was my first time! Food was so delicious and the only reason I didn’t finish it was because I was entertained to the extreme. My guest and I did a walk contest and it was such a time. I felt like such a Queen! Definitely come here for food and entertainment if you want your money’s worth.

Ive been coming here for awhile now and the delicious food, artesian style drinks and very reasonable prices (for a financial district joint) are what keeps me coming back. The atmosphere is very casual and the service is good. Something that I have noticed lately is that the portions have shrunk. I dont know if their food costs went up or they decided to do that to stay competitive but the amount of food you get is definitely less. Also if you hate people talking very loudly or you want to have a conversation with the people youre with DONT COME HERE during evenings or weekends. The volume here for the music and conversations is quite loud during those times. Finally this is a gay friendly place. If you do not want to be around that environment then I suggest going somewhere else. Besides that this is quite a gem for visitors and foodies. The decor is amazing (check out the murals in the back) and the styling is very updated and uniquely Mexican. I recommend this place.

This place was great me and my wife came here right after coming from our statue of liberty adventure and it was a super hot day, it seemed lively from the outside so we just gave it a try and let me tell you how great it was from the music to the vibe inside the place we got seated pretty quickly but they did ask if we had a reservation which we didnt so definitely reserve just in case. My only issue was that the server took about 20 mins before he even took out order which kinda had me worried,but after that the server made sure we was good with everything. The restroom is pretty clean which they have 2 solo toilets of but overall it was great the food was 10/10, the drinks were great 10/10.

Nice hidden gem in downtown Manhattan, if you blink you’ll miss it. The staff was friendly. My party and I were able to sit down right away. The crowd did pick up as the evening went on. The frozen margarita was nice and strong. All of the food was amazingly fresh. The nachos was delicious and loaded. The empanadas were also tasty appetizer option as well. I’m visiting New York for the first time, is my third day after a lot of rain finally some sun. I just came back from the Statue of Liberty and we found this place.OMG, the food is incredible is good food, we ate the chimichangas a beer and a toro loco cocktail. Came here for the first time over the weekend & was satisfied. I love the the decor & the music. The drinks & food were delicious. Good portions. They have bottomless drinks at a certain time for brunch. You get unlimited for 90 minutes. I got their margarita on the rocks and it was the best margarita I ever had. If you’re a passion fruit lover, like me, try their crazy bull drink. It’s right by Wall Street. Will be back again!

Had a Girls Brunch Date at with my fave coworker. Our server Laura was amazing, showed us the best time. Food, drinks, music… it was all amazing. The nachos were my favorite part. I’m yearning for more as I type this. One of the best brunches I’ve had in a while. Had to have some fun in case we shut down again, they definitely provided the fun. Decided to try this spot since I always pass by it after getting off the train and walking to work. I was craving some nachos this day so I got the toro loco nachos with chicken. It was super good. It had a lot of toppings like cheese, beans, pickled jalapeños, chicken, guac, sour cream, etc. I asked for a side of sour cream as well because I love extra sour cream with my nachos. Total was around $23 and it was a fair price. There were a lot of nachos and it was definitely more than I thought (I was only able to finish around half of it and had to save the second half). Overall, really good and would definitely come back again!

This place was great for a quick Happy Hour visit that me and my coworkers used it for. The bartender with the pompadour was extremely attentive, he over heard I didnt like spice on my rim and dumped it without me asking and made me another one with a sugar rim. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking a Mexican style happy hour. The only reason they got 4 stars instead of 5 from me is because their guacamole was bland, thats a definite drop for me for everything else was perfect.

Toro Loco is one of the best places out there . It’s a Mexican restaurant with a nightclub bar theme but it’s the best of both worlds. The brunch is amazing and you can’t beat it . I bought a PulsD voucher for 59$ for 2 unlimited 90 min of frozen flavored margaritas and other cocktails and 2 entrees for two people . The staff always goes out of their way to accommodate you and the manager Terry and the server Cali is top notch . I can’t wait to go back soon !! They also have free drag and burlesque shows on the weekend .

My friend and I were actually on our way to an Irish pub called Murrays (I think... maybe it was Murphys), but the pub was closed when we got there. We turned around and looked across the street to find the very festive, brightly colored Toro Loco and decided margaritas would be just fine! The chips and salsa were great! And the service was fast and friendly! I enjoyed the atmosphere of this location. Painted walls add so much drama to a space. These were really well done. Professional and with impact. Im an artist and that level of creativity really appeals to me. I did appreciate the plexiglass dividers between tables in the restaurant. Im assuming that was installed as a result of covid-19, but I actually really like that! If Im honest, there are certain things about safety measures in the City that have come about as a result of the pandemic that Id kind of like to keep. Next time I find myself in that part of Manhattan again, Im likely to visit Toro Loco and ACTUALLY have a meal. This time it was all about wanting a quick nibble and drinks with a friend to catch up. But I think my husband would really enjoy this place, so Ill have to go back with him, of course!

I visited Toro Loco this last Saturday. My friend and I went for the unlimited food and drink brunch option. Let me say, right off the bat, if you go for anything, go for the amazing drinks! Each one was perfect, every time. The passion fruit margarita was the biggest crowd-pleaser but you wont be disappointed by of their drinks.The show during brunch is awesome too! On Saturdays, they had burlesque dancers, a live saxophone player etc. On top of that, they did a social media contest whereby the person with the most entertaining Instagram Story would win a magnum bottle of champagne. Guess who won?! ...Yours truly!Now as far as the food, its filling of course, but I can see how some of the other reviewers here felt that there was no wow factor. The unlimited food option is a little bit pricey, even for New York City standards so youre expecting to be floored with each small plate. It wasnt bland or bad tasting. It was just good food. As I said though, if youre looking for greatness, youll find it in the drinks. So just wash that food down with a margarita lol.Bottom line: Go. Eat, drink and be merry!

This is a new, cozy and quaint restaurant. Its packed at lunch. Go after 1:30 pm, if you want to avoid the crowds. Theres also an upstairs if you dont mind climbing the stairs. Very good place, the nachos with steak are great! One of the best nachos experiences you can have, a lot of guacamole on top, even steak all around (I got the steak, obviously) toasted chips but not too much. The 30 dollar pitcher of frozen margarita was a great deal also, it says on the menu it serves 3, I had it with my girlfriend and it filled up 6 glasses,so I guess serves 3, 2 times ! 😄. The staff is very friendly, a little out of control at times, but nothing bad,kinda of fun. The menus are way too dirty and sticky, clean up those menus people! The burger is also delicious with a slice of ham and a special sauce Mayo that adds a very peculiar nice flavor to it. The churros come with a pancake and ice cream that ended up being much better then the churros themselves (the doe is little too hard/too crispy inside). I was impressed to see the place so crowded at battery park/wall street area, but most of guest look like out of town/tourists, not the coolest, but not weird either. You can bring a date here and have a good time, and the bar is really nice too. Great Mexican place overall

Good casual Mexican Restaurant! Have come for lunch twice. Only disappointment both times has been when I ordered the Quesadilla. It is suppose to be with authentic Mexican Oaxaca cheese, as stated in the menu, but each time it has been made with cheddar mozzarella cheese and had to request to have it remade! It’s delicious but make sure you specify Oaxaca cheese ONLY when you order it.

We spotted this restaurant just across the street from our hotel and decided to give it a try for an early lunch and we are glad that we did. This restaurant is a gem. The Día Los Múertes decor is tasteful and attractive, mixed with eclectic Latin American kitsch that adds a lot of color and charm. At the back of the restaurant they had one TV and a discreet wall projector (nice touch) that played a pleasant loop of aerial footage of New York at night.The service was good with our waiter being prompt and attentive.The food was good. We shared the guacamole—fresh and delectably spicy. The chips tasted store bought (is there a Sam’s Club in New York?) but they carried the guac well. I had the flauntas de chiroz, yummy. Cindy had the quesadillas, which she seemed to like.Overall, good place. Not worth a detour to, but if you are in the area I would encourage you to stop by.Oh, wait. There is a reason to detour. We were there for brunch and we ordered al carte. However, they have a brunch special. For $65 all the drinks (mimosas, margaritas, etc) you want and food, or for $35 limitless food. Well, limitless in that you have an hour to get what you can down.
