**A Memorable Thanksgiving at Café Luxembourg**Our Thanksgiving experience at Café Luxembourg was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant’s refined yet inviting ambiance provided the perfect setting for a holiday celebration, blending understated elegance with a warm, convivial atmosphere. The service was impeccable. Despite the demands of a busy Thanksgiving evening, the staff were gracious, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was handled with care. The special Thanksgiving menu was equally as impressiveCafé Luxembourg demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, making our holiday celebration truly unforgettable. It was a remarkable experience, and I look forward to returning to this gem in the future. -

This restaurant is really something very special. We spent a wonderful evening there and were just thrilled. The ambience is wonderful, the food was all delicious and also visually nicely garnished, the service was constantly present, attentive and very friendly despite the full restaurant. We would like to give special praise to the restaurant manager Rachel, who was extremely competent and helpful. Top Service! We will definitely come back. -

Our second visit today, this time post matinee opera at the Met.We arrived early so had a drink at the bar before being seated. All staff from start to finish were welcoming, charming and delightful. However, weve had better food at most any other bistrot or brasserie. Prices were very reasonable. But given the postage stamp sized tables, small for even Manhattan, with better food and atmosphere elsewhere, I see no reason for another visit. -

Lovely late night dinner. I was amazed at how cheerful the staff is—especially late at night. The bolognese has such a warm traditional taste. We added a Chianti. Pure delight.I went for the special roasted chicory salad. Unusual and satisfying enough for me.My husband loved the profiteroles. Luscious and tasty. -

This restaurant is a staple on the uws. Prices are okay. My favorite dish is the Sticky purple rice with veggies. Healthy with a wonderful mix of flavors including grains and greens. The quiche came out burnt but they fixed it. It’s a very old restaurant with a slightly grungy feel but a classic. -

Great staff across the board. Amazing energy. Fantastic dining room. Steak frites were incredible. What a demure gem. -

One of my new favourite places to eat in NYC, incredibly tasty food, great menu and fantastic staff -
Review 8 (2024-01-24 - Rating: 5)
It was my 2nd time here on MLK Jr Day, and the staff were so nice and accommodating each time. Our waiter even asked my friend if she’d like her French fries well done, and I was surprised by the attention to detail.Every seasonal pasta I’ve tried here has been amazing, the duck ragu no exception. Their raspberry maple donut holes are a must try, even for someone without much of a sweet tooth like me.Looking forward to their spring menu! -

Serene spot especially when seated outdoors. Enjoyed fries the most! -
Review 10 (2024-12-13 - Rating: 5)
We were running late (horrible traffic) called twice to push reservations back, absolutely no problem with that. Needed to be done and out within 45 minutes... they made it happen. The place was crowded, but nothing felt rushed. The staff are wonderful, charming, and very accommodating. -
Review 11 (2025-01-03 - Rating: 5)
We love this place. It’s an institution in the neighborhood. All the food great but the ice cream sundae is to die for. Even the whipped cream, which i normally hate, is great. -
Review 12 (2021-05-02 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite brunch spots to date! The staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. The food was so so so good! I will definitely be back and I cant wait to try their chicken dumplings. If you plan to sit outside, I would recommend bringing a jacket because it can get chilly. -
Review 13 (2024-11-30 - Rating: 5)
10/10 amazing service, food, and atmosphere. We LOVED it. -
Review 14 (2018-07-30 - Rating: 4)
The place was tight and mood was intimate for the 3 of us for breakfast. To be honest, my avocado toast (see picture) was pretty and delicious but for $19 I expected a bit more. We happened to time it right and saw actor Danny Glover having breakfast behind us, but its hard to make him out from the picture. Overall, the service was great and the food was delicious, just a bit over priced. -
Review 15 (2024-11-12 - Rating: 4)
The food and ambiance was great. I had the French onion soup and ravioli. The ravioli was amazing. The soup had a little less salt than I’m used to in a French onion. However, I will definitely be back very soon for the amazing food and wine! -
Review 16 (2024-11-08 - Rating: 4)
Amazing service from reception, to the waiters and waitresses, as well as the busboys. Everyone was so warm and gracious. Thanks to Bronco for stellar service! I get why this neighborhood place is always packed. -

Fave place to eat in NYC - fun for birthdays, all holidays & breakfast & dinner & dessert- the hot fudge Sunday is heaven. -
Review 18 (2022-01-27 - Rating: 5)
This restaurant is a little pricey but the food is delicious. The dining area is cozy but vast and can fit quite a lot of people. The lobster roll was perfectly buttery and fresh. The fries were crispy and also a good size. I also had wine with my food and it was a perfect combination. -
Review 19 (2024-09-01 - Rating: 4)
I like the breakfast there a mix of every thing and the cost is acceptable -
Review 20 (2024-09-03 - Rating: 5)

Review 21 (2024-01-27 - Rating: 5)
I cannot love this place enough! Just got back from brunch, and truth be told- the food is excellent (not anything too fancy, but always cooked just right) AND...the service is the best in the city! From the host, to the servers, food runners, guy who pours the water- everyone is absolutely amazing. Friendly professional and really seem to care about their guests experience. The place is bustling with native New Yorkers so even at its busiest, everyone seems to know how to share the space. Love it. Love it. LOVE IT!!! -
Review 22 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Every thing was top notch over the top service and food. We already made reservations to go back before we leave town. -
Review 23 (2023-02-13 - Rating: 5)
Had dinner here last week before a show at the Beacon Theatre and had a fantastic meal. The seating is intimate but the service is wonderful. Our service was communicative with us from the moment we were seated, making sure to ask what time the show was so he can make sure we were served in an appropriate amount of time. My friends and I shared the Buffalo chicken dumplings and salmon tartare to start, both of which were perfect for sharing with great flavor. For my entree I had a special which was linguine and clams and it was the perfect serving size and hit the spot. My friends had the steak frites (incredibly flavorful), salmon entree, and lobster roll. We also ordered a side of fries to share and it was more than enough for 3-4 people with an assortment of dipping sauces. The drinks were fantastic as well. -
Review 24 (2024-05-28 - Rating: 5)
We ate outside on a lovely warm Sunday afternoon. The french toast is to die for and we loved the french onion soup too! Excellent service, super relaxing vibe overall. Highly recommend! -
Review 25 (2024-07-03 - Rating: 4)
Atmospheric. It’s UWS, so yes, the burger is $27 before being up-charged for cheese. The burger is forgettable but the fries are plentiful. Great service and a lot of interesting regulars you should strike up conversations with. Probably won’t return but enjoyed my time here, interesting, historic place. -
Review 26 (2021-08-08 - Rating: 4)
A beautiful French place to grab lunch or dinner with friends or family. I had French toast with only thing I didn’t like there barely and fruits added and French toast was a bit dry. I would go back and just stick savoury because all the sweet menu items didn’t look so appealing beyond the desserts. Give it a try! -
Review 27 (2023-05-22 - Rating: 5)
Delicious dishes with attentive and flexible service. Will gladly return when I am back to the city. -
Review 28 (2024-06-21 - Rating: 4)
I love this place for a drink and a nibble, such a buzzy New York vibe hidden in the UWS. Walk in and sit at the bar for a good cocktail and authentic bar man. Parmesan fries are great! The dining service was pretty slow but never had that problem at the bar section -
Review 29 (2018-02-10 - Rating: 4)
A nice little place. I like the food and the whole European atmosphere. Quite authentic. However, despite the fact that we had a reservation, we had to wait for more than 30 mins to get to our table. Of course waiters and hostess apologized for the wai, but it felt like a built in characteristic. This was my first time, so I cant judge - but it had the feel of a place that wants to create an image of desired by the number of people waiting to be seated. I had a good burger and a nice martini -
Review 30 (2021-11-22 - Rating: 5)
A stunning brunch at an iconic spot. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was unbeatable. The pancakes were so perfect and the croque monsieur was one of the best we’ve had. The lovely coffee was top notch as well. -
Review 31 (2024-02-25 - Rating: 5)
Stumbled apon this spot while looking for a bar that served espresso martinis, and I will say that the ambience of this place is literally so cool but the service and people that work there made the experience even cooler. Super friendly staff and really fresh espresso martini. We didn’t get any food, but would definitely visit again soon. I wish I remembered my bartenders name, but he was fantastic! -
Review 32 (2023-11-23 - Rating: 4)
Great food, grilled cheese was toasted to perfection. The fries were perfect as long as you manage to keep it hot...as they become cold they turn into ordinary fries....the French toast was sucklant and maple syrup was really good.I had to get the cappuccino twice it was delicious, make sure to get it double shot.Service was spot on, attentive. The outdoor area is enclosed and has a heater on top of every table nice and warm, -

One of the terrific NYC restaurants. Food was high quality. Great, but busy, atmosphere. If you get a bloody mary, order two cause glasses on small side. No complaints and food was delicious. -

Review 39 (2018-05-03 - Rating: 4)
Cafe Luxembourg situated on the corner of 70th street (between Amsterdam Ave. and West End Ave.) is a quaint and cozy place that has oodles of Parisian vibes when you enter the restaurant. Went there on Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing with the Upper West Side brunch crowd. It has a decent brunch menu with delicious and multiple varieties and tasty drinks such as the spicy Maria Peligrosa (Bloody Mary) and refreshing peach Bellini to name a few. Definitely worth a visit and my go-to neighborhood place moving forward. -

Great place, good vibe, I love the old New York look of this restaurant. Great spot for brunch -
Review 42 (2024-12-18 - Rating: 5)
We were the only people seated outside, yet the service absolutely phenomenal. They got us blankets, free chocolates, and everyone from the manager, to the food runner, to the waitress and busboy came outside continuously with the most attentive service. Great experience -

Review 45 (2022-09-04 - Rating: 4)
French toast is popular and is pretty good, as well as the french onion soup -
Review 46 (2024-10-22 - Rating: 4)
This casual cafe offers traditional French cuisine and it is conveniently located in the Upper West Side. We had the Onion Soup with melted Gruyere cheese and the Hamburger. Both were very good. I found the prices a bit high. Service was friendly at the restaurant but the person taking the phone reservation was extremely pretentious. I would definitely try a different spot as my first option. -
Review 47 (2023-04-29 - Rating: 5)
Always a favorite of mine for brunch...never disappoints. It can be difficult to get a table sometimes because it is very popular but its worth a wait. From the egg Benedict to the cocktails and dessert the quality is top-notch. The outdoor seating is especially cozy. -
Review 48 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 5)
Family late lunch which was perfect. Plenty of choices, great service and lively vibe! Yellowtail tuna burger was delicious and family enjoyed their lobster rolls. Great choice for anytime! -
Review 49 (2024-03-13 - Rating: 4)
A solid option for dinner before a show at Lincoln Center and Beacon Theater, or if picky parents are in town! The menu veers from its French roots a bit with chicken dumplings, BBQ pork, Asian-ish salmon tartare, fish and chips, and spaghetti bolognese. Stick to the French classics (my favorite is the frisée salad and beef tartare) and you wont be disappointed. I will say its pretty pricey for the portion size, but thats to be expected from this restaurant group (Odeon, Cafe Cluny). The menu will look familiar if you frequent any of those spots! -
Review 50 (2023-10-10 - Rating: 5)
Lovely reunion lunch with friends of many years. Delicious food, imaginative cocktails (I heartily recommend the Three Naked Ladies) -- and oh, that luscious sticky toffee pudding! Attractive and solicitous staff, excellent celebrity spotting (we were utterly thrilled to see fellow diner Nathan Lane!) -
Review 51 (2019-04-02 - Rating: 4)

This was always my grandmother’s favorite place in the neighborhood. I always resented going here as a kid but now that I’m older I regret being annoyed when she wanted to go. She knew a good thing when she saw it. I really wish I could take her there now.I still enjoy going and never had a bad meal there. -

We stop in for a bit of a dinner on our way to a movie. This is one of our favorite spots. Romantic and popular. Its a little pricey. But its so worth every penny. The service is impeccable. The food sublime. They make the most divine libations. This will be your favorite too. -
Review 56 (2023-01-15 - Rating: 4)
Wonderful experience. Our server Crystal was very friendly and greeting. Food was excellent. Just minus one star because we ate outside, under canopy and heaters, but despite being totally covered, it was VERY drafty. It was cold, but tolerable. I hope they invest to make it cold proof in the future, but it did not ruin the experience. Highly recommended :). -
Review 57 (2023-08-08 - Rating: 4)
Food was delicious. We grabbed a quick bite before catching a movie down the street. I made a reservation and showed up five minutes before my partner. Since we were crunched for time, I asked if I could place our orders. The waiter did not want to take our order until my partner arrived. I asked nicely and explained the situation, the waiter was understanding but I thought it was a strange rule. In the end, we finished our food on time so it worked out. We had the moules frites and a salad with steak. -
Review 58 (2022-09-20 - Rating: 5)
After a long flight we were ready for some tasty bistro food and this place got it right. I had a great steak while the others had swordfish, chicken and pork. Good wine menu and super friendly service while we soaked up some Upper West side atmosphere outside. Great to have a spot like this near to the apartment. -
Review 59 (2024-02-06 - Rating: 5)
One of my faves on UWS, never disappoints, food is always fantastic, French bistro style fare. My absolute favorite is the frisée lardon salad with crumbled blue cheese and poached egg! -
Review 60 (2023-08-28 - Rating: 5)
What makes this 40-year old establishment great is that it caters very well to the locals as well as very welcoming to visitors. The staff and management people are consistently helpful and courteous. The Menu includes traditional French fare, with great seasonal offerings. -
Review 61 (2022-12-26 - Rating: 5)
We love this restaurant. It’s like Paris with nice people. The food is perfect classic bistro. The servers are friendly and efficient. But mostly, this is a place you feel warm and welcomed - even on Christmas Day without a reservation. Thank you for our new tradition… -
Review 62 (2024-05-17 - Rating: 5)
UWS sister restaurant of Cafe Cluny and The Odeon. Consistently dependable food, great cocktails, impeccable service, and warm, genteel atmosphere. Don’t miss the daily specials. The grilled cheese sandwich - with bacon - alongside a cup of the soup of the day is often the best thing to order. The pastas are often very good. If you’re looking for something vegetarian, or on the lighter side, get the Thai Sticky Rice entry. The sticky toffee pudding is also excellent - as is the homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream. -
Review 63 (2023-12-17 - Rating: 4)
I liked the eggs Benedict options with smoked salmon or florentine etc depending on a person’s moodTaking a star off because they told us that the OJ in mimosa is not freshly squeezed when confirmed with the server 😬 hard to believe for a place like this -

I have been going to Cafe Luxembourg for over 20 years. It is a classic New York restaurant, and the food and service never disappoints. -
Review 65 (2023-11-18 - Rating: 5)
Great Brunch place. Service is great you are always attended. Food was so good I was only able to take one pic as everyone jumped on their food. We had a salmon eggs Benedict, purple sticky rice bowl , and a burger. For desert we tried their fresh mini donuts. -
Review 66 (2024-12-19 - Rating: 5)
We go here regularly and love everything about this place. The service is wonderful, the food is delicious, the wine is expensive but hey - what isn’t nowadays? -
Review 67 (2024-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Very buzzy neighborhood spot - serves the classics. The lemon meringue pie (tarte au citron) is exceptional- best I’ve had - flaky pastry, lemony curd, perfect proportion of soft meringue to curd. Best I’ve had. -
Review 68 (2022-08-27 - Rating: 5)
A classic. Had gazpacho and a cocktail while getting drinks with friends. Both items were excellent. Server was very efficient and friendly enough. Got the slight sense she was disappointed with our relatively small order for a table just before dinner crowd but I don’t blame her - it’s a very tough job and she makes money based on the size of the check. -

Hands down one of the best institutions in New York. Class all the way, and the food delivers. Delicious French onion soup, chicken paillard. Chefs kiss. -

Great spot to get food before a show at the Lincoln Center. Staff was friendly, helped us with the gluten free options (and informed us it was a shared frier which is important for my wife with celiac), and made delicious food and drinks. Will definitely be back! -

Review 74 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 5)
Café Luxembourg is my favorite Upper West Side restaurant! The ambiance is cozy, European bistro and the food is delicious. I lived in Manhattan for 20 years and this is, by far, the loveliest place to dine before attending an event at nearby Lincoln Center.I discovered Café Luxembourg in a Zagat guide a number of years ago and it is among my “go to” places in the city…the others being Michael’s and the Union Square Café. Only Café Luxembourg has the ideal location for before or after the opera or concert or ballet. -

Review 91 (2021-05-30 - Rating: 4)
They made us wait 30 minutes with a reservation. They clearly overbooked and made us wait outside and then said we could inside for the last ten minutes. Our friends got cold waiting outside, its 50 degrees and damp. They thanked us for waiting but didnt offer a drink or anything. The food was good, but they pre make most of it, even the steak tartare, so there is very little flexibility for dietary restrictions, allergies, or sensitivities. The staff was pleasant and helpful but seemed very busy. We had a nice time with our friends and overall it was a good experience, but maybe its better to go on a night they dont overbook and arent so busy. -
Review 92 (2024-07-05 - Rating: 5)
We went for brunch, and it was PERFECT. The food was absolutely delicious - everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Most importantly, the service was beyond amazing - everyone were so nice and welcoming. Our waiter (Augustine?) was so sweet, had all the recommendations, and was there for whatever we needed. Would highly (HIGHLY) recommend! -

Have lived in the neighborhood for years and never stopped in until today. The food was amazing, cocktails were great but the service and staff were next level. Patrick was the highlight of our visit! We stopped in for brunch and the croque monsieur, espresso martini, omelette and bloody mary were all delicious! Great fries too! None of which we would have known about if it werent for Patricks recommendations. He was friendly, faster than fast and has a great sense of humor. Will definitely be back! -

It was my first time experience at Cafe Luxembourg. I booked thru Open Table and included note about requesting the outside sitting and spoke on the phone with a nice hostess on the phone to confirm it because we were coming with a small dog. so, when we arrived, the hostess said that there was no note about the outside sitting, but i confirmed a day before. The morning hostess on Saturday morning had an attitude. Well, I was about turn around and leave because its not hospitality you want to come to. The waiter was great and polite, no complains but the hostess who worked on Saturday -04/24/2020 in the morning needs to turn off her attitude and be more polite to guests and keep more attention to notes. If the hostess will use the same hospitality, it will lead to the customers to turn around and leave. I put 5 starts for the waiter and food. -

Reliably impeccable food and (when you sit at the bar) quality conversations with interesting patrons.Overall service may have slipped some post-pandemic, but isnt that everywhere? -

Great place, made reservations and were seated right away. Atlantic Cod and Half chicken were amazing. They make their own ice cream must have desert is sticky toffee. -

We returned to Cafe Luxembourg in July on a trip to New York. I thought it might be past its prime after so many years. Boy was I wrong. It was crowded with a mix of locals and knowledge visitors. The food and drinks were so good. Service was friendly and unhurried. I had probably my best steak ever in my steak & frites order. Fun interactions with close by neighboring tables. A bit noisy, but totally felt like a neighborhood gem. -

I frequently choose Cafe Luxembourg for brunch, lunch and dinner with friends and for business. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is excellent and the atmosphere always fun! You never know who will show up. Great burgers, best french fries in NYC, great menu and seasonal specials. Try Harry’s Hot Fudge Sunday! For this small neighborhood bistro it’s 5 stars from me! -

Review 107 (2017-07-04 - Rating: 5)
I visited Cafe Luxembourg for a truly, old-school European experience in the Upper West Side. And I use European lightly, since its menu consists of a few Mexican dishes in their brunch menu. The ambiance is perfect for dates, family dinners, and anything in between. It is not overly dressy, but I wouldnt recommend you to show up in beach shoes or sneakers. Its not as touristy as I expected it to be, considering it is just a couple of blocks away from Lincoln Center. Its a neighborhood treat.I have only been here twice for dinner. Never for brunch. We started with a bowl of mini-Yorkshire pudding, of which I forget the name. They are bite-size, but once you start, you wont be able to stop.We skipped over a light first course, and went to our entrees, which were all a delight.I went with a big bowl of mussels, dodged the side of French Fries for a lightly tossed frisée salad. My husband went with their house burger, which was a juicy patty, cooked through as he requested. Our friends ordered the house special fish and Fish and Chips. And they could not stop raving about the Fish and Chips, insisting that it was the best theyve ever had.We ended the dinner with a blueberry crisp that was just perfect. The four of us initially wanted to share one dessert but caved at the end and had to order another one. -

Review 109 (2018-03-10 - Rating: 5)
Exceptional service. First time, we arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation. The host was very accommodating and we were seated almost immediately. The menu selection is broad enough for almost everyone to find a dish that will please. I had surf and turf that was perfect in size, but small by most New York restaurants. The plate came with halibut in the center with pieces of melt in your mouth steak and surrounded by broccoli and small crispy potatoe balls. My partner had Fish and chips accompanied by peas in pea coulie so fresh as if right off the stock. Our server, Jamie, very pleasant and professional. Never felt rushed despite the restaurant at capacity. The staff is a well oiled machine, almost balletic in their movements. Pricing is reasonable for the high quality of food provided. -

Staff is much more pleasant these days! A decade ago some waiters were snooty and obnoxious. These days everyone is pleasant and helpful. The food is, as always, delicious. Highly recommend their cassoulet. If you want something lighter, the branzino is fabulous and perfectly cooked. -

A romantic and cozy upper west side gem. I enjoy the moule de frites, gem salad, and hanger steak. Always a wonderful experience. -
Review 114 (2021-08-07 - Rating: 4)
The food here was quite good - I particularly liked the Buffalo chicken dumplings. The mussels were well cooked and flavorful. Otherwise it was just okay - not appreciably better than similar French restaurants. The cocktails were underwhelming.Price point is also a bit on the high side for the quality of the food - 2 drinks and an entree will run you about $100 with tip. -

Review 116 (2016-09-06 - Rating: 5)
A neighborhood stalwart. The food is excellent, I frequently get the tuna burger, cheese plate and the amazing fries. Cocktails are perfect and there is an excellent wine list. The vibe is friendly and welcoming. It can get packed on some nights. Sit at the bar, talk to those trying to text, you will meet some rather interesting people. A favorite with all those those that live on the UWS. -

I’ve been going here for 25 years and it’s a very cool French restaurant with a luxury Deco vibe. I like everything about the food and cocktails, but feel that the food is overpriced for what they serve. Definitely try brunch on the weekends. -

I LOVE the food here, but I do sometimes find that theres a slight attitude when I swing by and dont have reservations. To be fair, we probably overstayed our welcome because we were waiting for someone to join our party before heading out. I know people were waiting and I felt badly. My favorite dishes: avocado toast and the eggs florentine. -

Review 123 (2023-04-26 - Rating: 5)
This is one of my go to upper Westside lunch places. It is definitely more upscale and the food is delicious. My favorites are the country, frise salad, soup of the day, tuna, burger, and salmon tartare. Their regular burgers are excellent… And so are their fries. It’s a very NYC crowd always… And never a dull moment. The staff are on their toes and keeping the diners happy. If you want to eat there… You should make a reservation. -

The good and the bad.The good news is the scallop was AMMMAZING! I’ll definitely order the scallops again! The searing is good, the seasoning is there, the pine seed and trumpet mushroom added a creaminess and earthiness to the dish, perfuming the almost-butter-like scallop. A perfectly-balanced dish. If there’s one thing, I would want the sauce to be more concentrated. The wonderful flavours of pine and trumpet mushroom all got diluted into the water. The bad news is the octopus is like melted slimy sticky rubber, with the gooey skin still attached to it. I couldn’t even finish a quarter of the dish and had to hide all the octopus under a napkin🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.So, I would probably want to come back for more scallop. But I might want to stay away from the octopus🐙. -

Cafe Luxembourg has been a favorite of ours forever! Hadn’t been back in a few years, so we were thrilled to see it’s just as wonderful and brilliant and delicious as ever. Service was excellent, too. We ate outdoors in the “shed,” which couldn’t appear more cramped—and yet, once at our table, it was perfectly ample. Neighboring tables chatted freely, a few adorable little dogs were stretched out on the floor (just like in Paris!), food and drinks were on par with the best, it was a glorious early-summer evening—and it simply felt like one of those fabulous New York experiences! (Again!) Just one request, though: Please stay open later!!!! -

This softly lit cafe is a hidden gem that has graced NYC for decades. This alone says so much about it; after all, New Yorks changing dining scene is a given. For your first time, sit at the bar; the wine list is VERY good; people are friendly here. Oh, I almost forgot, theyve got the coolest magazine rack too. -

We went on Sunday for breakfast. A charming place. Excellent food, coffee, and ambience. Staff was very friendly and service was quite good.A tad pricey. Most items are $25 (side of bacon $13). However, given the quality of food, service, and atmosphere its worth it.Recommend trying it out. Its got character. -

Café Luxembourg was a lovely classic brunch spot. We have an enjoyable time here. The atmosphere: was a mix of classic diner and bar restaurant. It had a lovely old charm feel. The staff: was friendly, and the service was pretty quick. The food: was pretty good. I had eggs and potatoes, and my party had French toast. Everything was tasty, but for the $12 bacon side, I would have expected a higher quality cut.Cleanliness: the table and silverware were clean as they should be. -

It great to know that after 10 years since the last visit, Cafe Luxembourg still delivers some of the best French food youll find anywhere in the country. The salade nicoise is a stand-out favorite featuring a perfectly seared piece of sushi-grade tuna with a runny quail egg and all the accompaniments. Tables are small and its constantly busy - its also a major venue for celebrity spotting (I once saw Woody Allen here). Service is frantic and efficient though it can be difficult getting much attention after the initial ordering phase. -
