French 85 is a good cocktail. Like juice. Bar starters were nice, especially tuna tacos. Super small though. Appetizers were nice, grilled octopus was fine, but not super flavourful. Pizza was good. Rosemary fries were great.Service was not very proactive, and yet, not very friendly either. Pretty neutral, I’d say. You have to flag attention.

That was my first time at this restaurant. I had planned to order a drink, but the ambiance was so inviting that I couldn’t resist trying the appetizers as well!The service was excellent, and the escargot was absolutely amazing. The drinks were also top-notch.I want to give a special shout-out to Bartender Miguel for providing exceptional service!

Bebe was very sweet but wasn’t our server. Clearly she has worked in hospitality when she automatic folded my girlfriends napkin when she got up from the table. “Complements from the kitchen” or maybe an amuse bouche? Sent out two cold aranchini’s in a clearly reused black mung bean dish. Was a bit weird to have a two top get served a plate for four people (picture included) Caesar was plated differently than the guests next to ours but maybe that was because we asked for it to be split. Dressing was very good. Was not offered another cocktail after mine was finished. Water was constantly being filled (loved that since didn’t get asked if I wanted another drink). Chicken was interesting to be served deboned I like the concept but unfortunate the chicken was dry, spinach to salty and the jus was definitely need for the dish to come together. We also got the mussels which were also very cold on top and the broth was a bit warmer than room temp. Besides that I had a lovely date with my girlfriend.

Dined here last night to celebrate our anniversary that was on the same day as Thanksgiving. My husband’s request for a corner table and our anniversary was very warmly acknowledged by the restaurant with an appetizing dessert. The manager, Madina came to wish us personally which was very thoughtful. The ambience was festive & the cocktails were delish. We had the shrimp toast, my husband had the steak & I had the short rib cavatelli. Would def come back here!

Decided to pop in after passing by and looking at how cozy it is. This was by far one of the best meals I’ve had here in the city. The specials were all uniquely curated by the chef. The portions were also very generous so it matched the price appropriately. Also the cocktails were absolutely delicious and very unique. Will be returning!

The Consulate, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is a great spot for a delicious cocktail if youre on Columbus Avenue!! My boyfriend & I recently stopped in together for the first time and it was a lovely experience. The two cocktails I tried were amazing, each in their own way; the Miss OHara is fruity + refreshing and the Jardin is light, but is so flavorful with the matcha incorporated. My boyfriend tried the Touch of Ginger and the Consulate Old Fashioned, each of which were also really yummy!! We didnt try any food during our visit, but The Consulate definitely deserves 5-stars just for the quality of their cocktails, service, and atmosphere!!UPDATE (5/18/24): My boyfriend & I returned for Saturday brunch and we had a great experience! :-) We sat at the bar and David took great care of us!! For cocktails, we shared their Miss OHara, Jardin, and tried the Your Love is King with our second round (per Davids rec). Your Love is King was SO delicious, to our surprise, as this wasnt something we had originally planned to try. For food, we had the vegan Avocado Toast (although, I added 2 poached eggs on the side for me), with a side order of truffle fries. The food was as delicious as the drinks. We had a lovely experience during our 2nd visit and will 100% be back!

The food was delicious. The atmosphere and vibes were great for a Wednesday evening. We ordered from the bar and the food took a little while to get there (others at the bar, who arrived after we did, got their food first), but our bartender Miguel was so on top of it. He followed up with the kitchen before we even got a chance to follow up with him. Despite how busy the bar and the whole restaurant was, we were taken care of.

The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, making it the perfect place to enjoy a great evening. The location is fantastic, in a nice and accessible setting near Central Park. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!👍

They have multipleSeating areas and a beautiful bar if you’re simply looking to grab a drink.Their menu is upscale and diverse. The Ribeye certainly lives up to its reputation for what you would be looking for at an update French restaurant. The seafood dishes are also excellent here.We found the drinks to be delicious and they have a variety of options, including mocktails.Their staff was so courteous and friendly but also laid back, which makes for an easy and enjoyable experience when dining!

My birthday dinner went something like this all I can say is I highly recommend. The ambiance was spectacular!! The staff was amazing omg even the hostess sang Happy Birthday 😍😍😍Let’s talk about the entrées:Short rib Cavatti:oh man I didn’t leave a noodle or meat on my plate!!! It was so good and tasty man I didn’t need any pepperSeared Branzino: I didn’t even taste a bite due to my fish allergies; however, my boo killed it all!! He stated it was perfectly seasoned and it was yummy to his tummy hahaha.Truffle fries: The best Truffle fries I ever had in NYC!!!!Chocolate Molten Lava Cake with vanilla icecream::: it melted in my mouth I was so full but y’all know me and my boo killed it all lol it was delicious!!!!The food and the wine are 10/10!! Definitely should add the Consulate to your NYC restaurant Bucketlist if you visit the city.

I had a great evening at the Consulate UWS, a homey restaurant with a French- International cuisine at the UWS.The place is relaxed, inviting, with great food, a wonderful bar, and fantastic service.I had a great French onion (not to be missed 😊). A yummy grilled octopus 🐙. A fantastic rack of Lamb and a mouth-watering Tiramisu.Definitely a great spot. 👌

OMG!!! Where do I even start! The place it’s amazing.. the decor is a total 10. The service was excellent. Nikola the manager treated us with such care we felt like we were talking to a long time friend. Now the food was next level and the drinks Wow !! So delicious and definitely instagram worthy. A friendly French Cafe! I came here for lunch a couple of times and I find some of the items to be hit or miss - all the French items are a hit!I recommend the mussels and the smoked salmon Flatbread as well as the creme Brulee. For drinks I like the 3 greensI love the space, lots of smaller cute tables and laid back vibe. Waitstaff is helpful and gives recommendations on size of dishes. You can sit for a little longer and its more relaxed in terms of service.

This place is the epitome of upscale dining with a casual atmosphere. The food is inspired. The cocktails are delicious (I had sampled maybe more than a few), but the best part is the service. The restaurant was packed inside and out and, as an industry worker, I saw two servers handle it all.My camera phone does not do this food justice. We enjoyed the burrata with strawberries and tomatoes, grilled octopus, and roasted eggplant(To perfection) topped with pomegranate seeds to start. And we finished with their scallop special, with cauliflower purée and their Korean BBQ style Steak. Just unreal.If you’re looking for a place to kick back and enjoy everything the UWS has to offer there are very few, if any, places that can match the luxury feeling The Consulate offers.

All were tasty with good portion sizes and arrived efficiently.Dropping a star because one of our burgers came out with cheese on it after asking specifically for no cheese, and our server wasnt as attentive as expected for a nice dining spot like the Consulate.

The staff at The Consulate really cares and goes out of their way to foster an enjoyable dining experience. They manage to be both welcoming toward kids and relaxing for adults. The high ceilings and charming antique decor create a beautiful atmosphere. Im a vegetarian and I love the mushroom flatbread, salads, lotus onion, and pasta specials. My meat-focused friends are happy too. This restaurant is my familys favorite go-to spot!

Highly recommend!!! This place recently opened up so a group of us stopped by for few drinks and a bite to eat. They have a small but very good selection of beers and inviting selection of wine. Food and desserts are amazing. Probably best food in this part of town. Super friendly staff. They were kind enough to treat as with a round of drinks and desserts on the house.

The Consulate is an UWS fav. We will go back again and again.The atmosphere is cozy, classy and always welcoming. Upon arriving we were greeted by the manager (or owner?) and hostess. Our dripping wet coats were graciously and efficiently checked. We were seated immediately.We took advantage of the happy hour specials. We recommend the French 85 cocktail, the $2 raw oysters (great value) and the truffle fries (perfection). The French onion soup was delicious and the branzino entree (with fennel and cilantro sauce) was flaky and tender. Chef knows what he/she is doing!Our server was efficient and knowledgeable. The service was as if we were dining at a super upscale establishment without the price tag. My napkin was neatly folded when I returned from the restroom.Highly recommended!

Great spot with French-American fare on the Upper West Side! Food is consistently delicious and well priced for the quality and portion. Would recommend the brunch menu and cocktails, especially. The team there is welcoming and knowledgeable. Inventive cocktails and the bartenders are extremely helpful. George, Yelena, Nicoli, and Ivan are the best! Extremely helpful, courteous, knowledgeable about drinks, and provide excellent service. They also will make a great individual cocktail if you would like something different! They are the reason I go back time and time again!

The place today wasnt very busy though, so not sure if its consistent when it is busy. We had the beef tartare which was very good. Flavoring and texture was spot on. Great experience at The Consulate UWS.Kiddo was hungry so stopped by and lucked into their happy hour menu which was a seafood lovers delight.Oysters were phenomenal as was the ceviche. Our daughter demolished the fish and chips and the truffle fries were heavenly after a day of walking. Crispy with just the right amount of salt. Chefs kiss!Service was great as well.Neighborhood gem.

The Oui Mademoiselle drink (on the left) was my wife’s “fave” ever. The Consulate Old Fashioned - with Mescal - is a game changer. If they’re this good and nice for drinks, I can only imagine how good the food will be when we return next time we’re in NYC. We witnessed Assistant Mgr Ivan expertly diffuse a situation with disgruntled customer. Says so much about the quality and integrity of this team! You need to check out this place!!!

I just moved to the Upper West Side and swung by for a cocktail - I immediately fell in love with the environment. Classic music playing softly in the background, high end service from the staff without being pretentious and fantastic drinks. I got the Touch of Ginger and oh. my. god. One of my favorite drinks I’ve ever had! The bartender George was amazing and friendly. Cannot wait to become a regular here!
