    We were expecting a music show or belly dance on the weekend, we called ahead and were told that there will be a slow from 11pm so we rushed there only to find out there was no show. That was very disappointing. The food was decent. Calamari was crunchy and delicious. The burger was juicy however the French fries were made of sweet potato and might be an acquired taste. The drinks all coated the same and had a decent punch to it. The hookah was very smooth especially the mango. Overall it was nice albeit a few let downs.

    Hi I celebrated my birthday here. Thank you we had an amazing fun chill time. The waitress she is very attentive...so sweet of her to give me and my friends free birthday shots. The food is great and service ! Highly recommend for birthdays ! Also thank you to the manager he was very helpful. Thanks for making my birthday special. Definitely coming back in the future .

    This place is such a vibe. Great for a lowkey date night or a light night out with the girls. Hookah was good. Crowd is grown, everyone was doing their own thing. Food is okay, just for snacking. Perfect place after a nice dinner.

    100% Halal and the food is delicious, they also have an attached restaurant next door called Aroma, which makes their extensive menu even better! For starters we had the papri chaat, samosa chaat, and bbq wings. They were off the charts. For the entrees we had the butter chicken, bhindi masala, saag, shahi korma, garlic naan and white rice. Every item had the perfect taste just wished it was a bit more flavorful for the bhindi. For dessert we had the death by chocolate shake, Nutella cheesecake, vanilla graham crackers s’mores shake and the ras malai tres leche. The best one of the deserts were the ras malai and death by chocolate. We also had the blue Hawaiian mock tails which were so delicious! However as great as the food sounds, I do have to say for someone being big on hookah, their hookah is not good at all. The coals are too big, and it gets harsh fast. The flavors are not there to last as many of the places I’ve went too, so they need to figure out how to fix that. The customer is amazing as well. Other than that they would’ve gotten a 10/10 from me. If you’re in the area do give them a try!

    Hands down one of the best lounges to visit in queens. They got the best of both worlds , Hookah and desserts and also their Mocktails are really good . They desserts are out of the world , take up 15-20 minutes to come out , but truly worth the wait. The hookah flavors are great and are fair priced. They do have a happy hour!!     Came here for a night out with my friends while in NY and the experience was good but not great. I made a reservation before coming so my friends and I were seated in the VIP section (no-additional charge). The music was good; DJ played old and new hip-hop hits. We ordered the mint basic hookah and some wings and mozzarella sticks off their menu. Hookah was fine, but the food was okay. Its primarily a hookah/desert lounge so the real food is secondary, but it really could have been better. It got pretty packed on the Saturday night we went and their was just one waitress. She barely came to our table to see if we needed anything. Service could have been a lot better. We did also order the Death By Chocolate desert which was pretty good.

    My first time here, came on a Tuesday for a friends birthday. Our waitress there was really nice and accommodating, the mocktails and hookah flavors were amazing. Also the food surprisingly was really good as well. We got chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala w garlic naan and both were prepared really well. The music was also trendy and was consistent with the vibe of the lounge. Would definitely recommend just coming to chill with friends if you’re bored in queens and want a small restaurant/ lounge with a modern cool vibe. The chef was so nice, not sure how he knew (we never mentioned it) but he sent complimentary kulfi cake for the birthday girl which was really delicious, and chai. Gotta come back here soon.

    This place is great at night the energy was awesome. The DJ played great music even South African house and Nigerian music and pop smoke. Deki our server was really nice and accommodating ask for her! The food drinks and hookah was good too, only thing was it took a while but it was packed. Will definitely go back to try desserts!

    I love coming here, as opposed to the super packed and obnoxious astoria hookah lounges! The desserts are pretty good, never tried the food, BUT the drinks are yummy, not too strong. AND THE HOOKAH IS YUMMY! Lastly, Diamond, our waitress, was super sweet and is super beautiful and I will def be back just to look at her pretty face! Lol. But really, a good time and good music too.

    I never really enjoyed hookah before my going at sugar n coal. The atmosphere, food, quality of the hookah and staff really provided an amazing experience for me and my friends. Anthony (the #1 hookero) In particular made our night. His recommendations, attentiveness and over everything humor is the reason I’m writing this review and will be coming back. If you need a spot to take friends and have a good time sugar n coal is the spot.

    I give it a 4 only because the space is deceitful in photos. It looks much bigger and fancier.. the space thats pictured is nice but there are about 7 booths .. the space is about 10feet wide. We went dressed up thinking it was a more dressy place. Its not lol. But its also not a dress down and look rugged place. Its a cool chill spot.There are 3 seating sections... 2 are more restaurant like and 1 is hookah. The food is very good plated very nicely and the drinks are light so be prepared. Staff is very nice and the dj was great. Tvs for the game and videos are in the hookah space. Im not sure about the restaurant side. Pricing for meals start at about 15 to 25 for lamb.The hookah was good could have been better , the head they use holds too much head drying the mouth on inhale. But the refills are free and they have a decent amount of flavors.I would definitely go back. Just less dressed and aware that the space is smaller then it looks on photos. And request a different head on the hookah.

    I decided to stop by this place for some hookah and for a few drinks this past Saturday night and to my surprise they had a DJ playing some good music and as soon as they sat us, we vibed! Hookah is on point and thanks to everyone there especially Anthony who came to take care of our hookah hands down the best service throughout the night. Really appreciate you and the staff!

    Ive been coming to this place since before it opened. I found out about it from a good friend of mine. Their hookah is top notch as is their desserts. Customer service is a straight 10/10. Faith, one of the girls who works there, always make sure that my group and i are well taken care of. Since they always add new items to their menu, we arent really sure what hookah to try or what dessert to get but Faith always knows what to recommend us. If we like a sweet, but sour, type of drink, she knows exactly what to bring. I have yet to be disappointed by their hookah and desserts. Faith, you are absolutely awesome! I will definitely be coming back to Sugar N Coal again.

    Been coming here for years since even before they had alcohol and the led hookahs. Loved it then and still love it now! You can come here and smoke a hookah for hours and it would still be good! There food is delicious and so was our server we was so nice and made sure to check in numerous times on Mother’s Day! My go to flavors is frozen fruit loops in their led hookah, I highly recommend it. Their coconut shrimp and wings are amazing as well as ALL of their cocktails and mock tails! This place is perfect for a girls date during the day time and night out on the weekend! They also have belly dancing on Saturdays! There’s nothing negative I can say about this establishment I have been here countless times and always received top tier service.

    Came here for the first time and had a great experience. Asifa is AWESOME. she was very attentive to us and was very friendly and courteous. The hookah was great and the service was even better.     Very nice intimate place, food is delicious hookah is smooth. Shakes and mocktails are super tasty! Great for date night or a small hangout night. Parking may be an issue depending on when you go. Other than that its practically perfect.

    Sugar N Coal has good food and drinks for good prices. The desserts are awesome and worth the wait. The staff is very friendly, laid back and helpful. They also have special on alcohol with the lounge La Gringa next door since they didnt get their liquor license yet. The hookah is pretty good compared to other lounges I went to. In overall theyre pretty good until they get their liquor license so I can taste their drinks with alcohol added to them.

    Me and my cousin had a great time here! The aumbiance was amazing, customer service was great! Sunny & Mehdi were great waitresses they were awesome. The strawberry shortcake milkshake was so pretty and delicious as well. I had a great time here while in town.

    Nice experience for an alcohol free spot. Atmosphere is pretty chill. Drinks are good and so was the dessert! My friend had hookah while I just enjoyed my dessert.Place is a bit small, but they did have an additional room in the back too. Service was great to! Would go back. (Last year pre covid-19)Edited for 10/2020Stopped by on Sat and made sure to do an online reservation just in case, which they did ask for when we arrived. We did outdoor dining in the evening, during that time it did get cold as it proceeded to get darker. At least there was a heater in the spot we were seated at. (Only bad thing was the lights would go off and so would the heater) some items were not on the menu during the time we stopped by, which was fine. But I really wanted mac and cheese bite which they did not have.Other than that the dessert was delish and the wings were amazing! The mocktails were pretty good too. Wouldnt recommend the shrimp tacos, flavor of the shrimp didnt stand out in a good way, just seemed like it was boiled and thrown on the tortilla. The service by the was good and she was helpful, and the staff there, AJ, was awesome and very helpful, definitely went above and beyond! Definitely better to do indoor with the colder weather coming in.

    This was my first time here and I just ordered desserts. Tried the strawberry shortcake waffle along with the oreo waffle and both were good. Food took a while to come out and some of the waiters were just smoking in the back of the restaurant which may be why it took a minute to get my desserts. But overall restaurant has good music, desserts, and was clean.

    This is predominantly a shisha lounge which threw me off a little as I thought it was a dessert place. Theres an atmosphere thats both laid back and lively, helped along by a live DJ and big screens showing music videos throughout the lowlit space.The desserts here are lovely but the shakes really let it down. They need to use an ice cream base for their shakes, theyre milk based and thus too thin. All the cream tastes freshly whipped though and the cakes are excellent. The calamari was also pretty good.
