I just had a wonderful dinner at Da Claudio. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was delicious! The meal was made exactly the way I like it. The service was exceptional A+. The atmosphere was very nice and would be an excellent choice to take a friend or loved one! I will definitely go back highly recommended! 92

Great Italian spot around City Hall. The ambiance is nice and service was good. Pasta is pretty good but the risotto was amazing. The cannoli was great and highly recommend if available. Solid spot for Italian food if you’re in the area.

(Dined in Mar 2024) Love this place. The seafood pasta was amazing and full of seafood. Hazelnut gelato was so hazelnutty! I’ve found my favourite Italian place in NYC and will be back :)

A nice mellow restaurant to go for lunch or a date, with great service and food is delicious.Love this place it will be my wife and I date spot every time we come to NYC.

  • Review 5 (2024-12-25 - Rating: 5)

This place is a jewel. It has a sense of comfort while at the same time a quality of unassuming elegance. The food is outstanding, including a delicious and plentiful Caesar salad and an elevated lasagna. Colleagues from across the country who stay Downtown while visiting the office near the World Trade Center have discovered Da Claudio. It now one of the “go to” restaurants. A special shoutout to the staff for its attentive and caring service.

Had a very nice, informal work dinner here recently. We arrived early and they seated our group right away. Food came out correct, was well proportioned, and they even recognized the birthday of a member of our group which was really appreciated. Id readily return in the future to try more of the menu.

  • Review 7 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)

A little corner of Italy in FiDi! Had the best experience at Da Claudio! We sat down at the bar, started with one of their cocktails and order some nibbles, picture is of our burrata. I had then the Carbonara (authentic!) and my friend had the Calamarata pasta which was absolutely favolosa, we matched it with a very tasty Nero d’Avola!!! Wine list is big and all towards substainable wines. Thank you to Eugene for the cocktails and sensational service!!! Will be back soon and can only recommended!

  • Review 8 (2024-01-23 - Rating: 5)

The food, the music, the friendly staff. All just amazing. I got the burrata special and the flavor of the pears took me away. They had such a great scent and taste that dances on the palate. I tried a new wine and it compliments the salad so well.

  • Review 9 (2024-07-11 - Rating: 5)

Fried squash blossoms - so dainty and flavorful. Lightest carbonara ever and the pork really offset the sauce. Great little find near Pace!

  • Review 10 (2024-10-09 - Rating: 5)

Love this place. Been coming here for years a It’s unassuming and you could miss it if you blink, but don’t miss it. The service is great, the food is wonderful and fresh and authentic, and the drinks are grrrreat. Nice long marble bar for those seeking a linger. Enjoy!

  • Review 11 (2021-10-19 - Rating: 5)

Excellent Italian food and the absolute best Tiramisu I have ever had! We dined outside under a canopy, and the weather was beautiful! We ordered lasagna and spaghetti. Everything was wonderful!

  • Review 12 (2023-08-16 - Rating: 5)

I was here for dinner with clients but would love to come back here with my partner. A low key vibe that provides a calming atmosphere that could be really sexy with the right dinner companion. The Bucatini Arrabbiata is hands the best I’ve ever had. Thank you for having NA drink options. Cheers!

  • Review 13 (2023-09-21 - Rating: 5)

The food here is super light and fresh! The lasagna is incredible. I really enjoyed the Fuocco drink, very tasty! Of course we had to have tiramisu and it is to die for! Nice vibe with upbeat music and friendly servers. Sam the manager is super friendly as was our server Carlos. Thanks for an incredible dinner and evening!

Happy 10th anniversary Da Claudio! We just happen to come across this fabulous restaurant on their 10 year anniversary. The food, service & wine list were all amazing!

  • Review 15 (2024-12-17 - Rating: 5)

We had dinner at Da Claudio while staying in the finical district and truly enjoyed the experience. It restaurant has a relaxing, non-pretentious vibe. The food was simple and tasty…made with fresh clean ingredients. We enjoyed the beef carpaccio, arugula salad, squid in pasta with shrimp, and bolognese. All very good! The staff was friendly and easily accommodated food allergies (dairy). Highly recommend.

  • Review 16 (2024-09-09 - Rating: 5)

The ambience is really nice! Food is great! This is my first time coming here and it is definitely a hidden gem! Loved it!!! The chocolate mousse cake was perfection

  • Review 17 (2022-01-16 - Rating: 4)

I’d give the food 5 stars. Been to a few Italian places in Manhattan and i love their appetizers the most. I read a lot of reviews before visiting and their pastas didn’t look quite appealing so we only got the black linguine which was okay.BurrataThe best dish out of everything we ordered. You’d often see Burrata with tomatoes or prosciutto but this came with beets and quinoa. I was never really of a fan of quinoa because i felt like it didn’t how it tasted but this one was amazing. The sauce matched very well with everything.Polipo $23The overall taste was nice. Would have been better if they cooked it a bit less or longer because it was pretty chewy. Stayed in my mouth for quite some time.Black linguine $28A note for those considering, the pasta sauce isn’t squid ink but the pasta itself contains squid ink. So the good side is that it wont get all messy and black but for those who like the squid ink sauce, it’s not the same. The pasta has a strong taste itself so i felt like the tomato sauce and squid ink pasta kinda stood out on their own a bit too much. Didn’t quite feel the fusion that they were going for. It would’ve been nicer if they put a little slit on the prawns so that it was easier for us to eat too.Lasagna $26They bring the lasagna in a warm plate and then shedder cheese on top of that. It was a good warm dish but the portion was fairly small so you may want to order 1 for every 2 people.Sorbetto (blood orange & pear) $8You get to choose 2 out of 3 options (blood orange, lemon and pear)The blood orange was not too sour nor sweet which made the pear sweetness stand out even more. The pear one was just to sweet. If you’re getting the sorbet because you don’t want a too sweet desert, blood orange and lemon may be the 2 options for you.

Food and service were great!Especially appreciated the attention to service. Dirty dishes?...gone! dropped fork?...immediately replaced. The perfect balance of checking on things, but not being annoying. We really looooooved the bread!Enjoyed well made drinks and quality dishes

  • Review 20 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 4)

Solid Italian food experience. The food quality doesn’t let me put 5 stars. Each of the dishes we got was a bit oversalted.

  • Review 21 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)

I was staying at the Moxy and decided to try Da Claudio across the street - I am so glad I did!! Great atmosphere, good wine and delicious homemade pasta. The spinach fettuccine with sausage was excellent.

  • Review 22 (2023-10-16 - Rating: 5)

Ate here for the first time about a month ago and the food was excellent. The outdoor seating was nice and the staff were super attentive and kind. This was the first time I tried pasta like this and it was outstanding! I work in the area and once my job opens back up Ill Def be eating here again. The sorbet was the perfect way to end the meal!

  • Review 30 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)

Ive been to Da Claudio countless times, and I can confidently say that it never fails to impress. One of the things that sets it apart is the owners presence. Theyre always on site, making sure that every dish that leaves the kitchen meets their high standards. Its always a good sign when the owner is involved in the daily operations, and it shows in the quality of the food.My go-to dish is definitely the chicken scallopini. Its cooked to perfection every time, with a crispy exterior giving way to tender and juicy chicken breast. The sauce is rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of flavors. Ive tried other dishes on the menu, but this one remains my favorite. If youre looking for a reliable spot for a delicious meal, look no further than Da Claudio. Ill continue to return again and again for my chicken scallopini fix!

  • Review 31 (2019-10-04 - Rating: 4)

The food was good, but in the $$$ price range. We came in late in the lunchtime, unfortunately, so the waitress looked tired.Clean toilet. The eggplants secondi was a bit too salty.

  • Review 32 (2023-06-06 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 33 (2021-12-21 - Rating: 4)

We went for dinner on a Friday evening with my boyfriend and ambiance was good. I waited at the bar until my boyfriend arrived and the bartender was very kind, his service was swift. Prices during happy hour are really good, too. They also serve tiny crostinis on the house which were delicious.Black Linguine (Squid ink pasta, head-on prawns, spicy tomato sauce) was average but Bucatini Cacio e Pepe (Pecorino Cheese & Peppercorns) was really delicious. Their red house wine is very tasty, too. However, our favorite was the dessert with chestnut. See the photo. Delicious!Overall it was good. Thanks to the team!

  • Review 34 (2024-06-21 - Rating: 5)

Outstanding spot across from the Moxy Downtown. Service was excellent. Good cocktails, try the artichoke appetizer.

  • Review 35 (2021-08-12 - Rating: 5)

Totally delectable! Great atmosphere from the greeting at the door, to the freshening gin giblets with rosemary, amazing appetizer (bruschetta), and fabulous entrees... Spinach Linguini and Lamb Fusilli! The staff all very knowledgeable about food and great service. Would return any opportunity.

  • Review 41 (2024-01-10 - Rating: 5)

This place is an 11. what do i mean that? I mean its food -- from bread to profideroles -- made me laugh. I had to laugh because it was absurd that these tastes existed. And even more absurd that Id never tasted those tastes before.I am filled with gluten. I am also filled with hope.Hope that other people will stumble across this magnificent, uncut italian gem.I dont need anything else to happen in my life. Im good now.

  • Review 42 (2024-11-04 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 44 (2023-04-07 - Rating: 5)

Food and quality service is excellent! Nice ambiance. My husband noticed the ceiling has a noise reduction so you can hear each other in your table. Cool features. Love the cocktail Fuoco 😊 and good wine.

The lasagna was the best I have ever had. This place is amazing!

  • Review 46 (2024-09-04 - Rating: 5)

Da Claudio never disappoints! Ive been in a handful of times, and the food is consistently delicious, with excellent mainstays, and fresh seasonal specials. The service is how I like it; respectfully attentive, and the space is large but feels intimate. I like to sneak in on quieter nights for a solo dinner at the bar; the wine list, cocktails, and bartenders are stellar.

  • Review 47 (2021-06-28 - Rating: 5)

Delicious food! Tables indoors are nicely spaced out with dividers. Also very nice outdoor setup on a closed street. Service was great. And their bathrooms were so clean! Recommend for date night or happy hour before 7 pm!

  • Review 48 (2022-09-04 - Rating: 5)

Excellent food and atmosphere. A pleasant place to dine and be with friends (not too noisy) with excellent authentic -- and even slightly creative -- Italian dishes (and I live in Italy). A good wine, cocktail, and after-dinner drink list as well.

  • Review 52 (2021-06-02 - Rating: 5)

First time here and it was pretty good. The wife had some octopus dish and liked it. I had the carbonara and enjoyed it. Dark quiet ambience is nice. Bread before the meal is quite lackluster though. Just your basic white bread.

  • Review 53 (2024-07-23 - Rating: 5)

Came here for a work dinner. Had a lovely time with very attentive and helpful servers. The space looked with interesting but a mix of styles around. I liked the real plants and the fake plants around the bar. As for the food, I think it was pretty delicious. Tasted even better on the companys dollar, lol. But each of our pastas were pretty good and had big enough portions to take for leftovers.

  • Review 54 (2024-09-02 - Rating: 5)

Hidden gem in Fidi. Warm ambience nurtured by an attentive staff. Excellent wine selection, imaginative cocktails, rounded off by delicious food. Calling out the Lasagna. Will be back.

  • Review 55 (2024-01-18 - Rating: 5)

Did a takeout of the wagyu bolognese with gluten free pasta and it was great - pure simple confort food. It was the best gluten free pasta I ever had so far, their gluten free pasta substitute was a homemade fettuccine. I love that even the gluten free option is homemade as Im gluten sensitive. Its hard to enjoy much of what I love without feeling bad, but this makes it possible.Would love to come back and try the other options on the menu.

  • Review 56 (2024-11-04 - Rating: 5)

Amazing Italian spot in Fidi. Warm welcome with an at home feeling from the staff and the owner Claudio. Ceasar salad was great, pasta was delicious and Cannolis were amazing. Will definitely be back, love this place!

  • Review 58 (2017-08-19 - Rating: 4)

Great food. Grilled Octopus is top class. Pastas are delicious and cooked just right. Fish dishes are okay. Service is fine. A bit expensive for what you are getting but worth a visit once in a while.

  • Review 61 (2021-05-13 - Rating: 5)

In this pandemic world we all live in, finding a restaurant to pick up food conveniently and quickly hasnt been an easy thing to do. So after years of driving by Mamma Francescas but never eating there, I finally called to pick-up an order. I am so glad I did. I ordered a complete meal to take home and it was absolutely delicious. The food was so good I forced myself to save half to have it for the next day!

  • Review 62 (2024-10-27 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful cozy spot with friendly staff and delicious food. We loved the garganelli bolognese and lasagna, and dream of the same sauce on fresh pappardelle 🤤

  • Review 63 (2021-11-20 - Rating: 4)

The dishes were OK. Good location, great service, and not bad ambience.I was expecting something more for what I paid for. The Lasagna is definitely something hard to make but the flavour wasn’t there. Same for the other dishes with Ragù. However, what most surprised me is how they made the carbonara. The egg was completely cooked and it is not supposed to be like this. Additionally my friend added mushrooms, which shouldn’t even be an option.Overall not bad. I haven’t tried everything but it seems like the owner adapted the flavours to a more American clientele.

  • Review 64 (2023-12-03 - Rating: 5)

Ate here today for lunch with my brother. We both had the $25 prixe fix lunch. It included a soup or salad, pasta and coffee or tea. The salad was excellent and the pasta was even better. Pasta was perfectly aldente. Excellent service and quite crowded by the time we left at 1 pm. There is a full bar ad well.

  • Review 67 (2021-06-06 - Rating: 5)

The food was amazing! We had the FritoMisto to start and lasagna as our main dish. The lasagna was melt in your mouth tender and fantastic. Them for dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. It was fabulous.

  • Review 68 (2018-07-19 - Rating: 5)

Our waitress was on point. I told her the kind of dish I was looking for and gave me a suggestion. It was exactly what I wanted! The food was delicious and the vibe was pretty chill too. If youre looking for somewhere quiet to have dinner, this wouldnt be the spot for you. It gets a little bit noisy with people talking, but Ive seen worse. My husband and I didnt mind it. Id definitely go back!

  • Review 69 (2015-02-16 - Rating: 5)

I come here regularly for their fresh pasta and awesome selection of wine for almost 3 years. Service is warm, crisp, and professional. Plenty of seating, you hardly ever have to wait for table. Bresaola carpaccio is one of the standout appetizers, as is the fritto misto. Great place for a business/client lunch. Great happy hour specials, as well. Definitely one of the best spots in the neighborhood for the money.

Very good Italian restaurant in downtown New York. A more modern aesthetic than most of the others in the area. Equally good for a quick lunch seated at the bar or a longer dinner. Claudio and his staff are friendly and inviting, and the food is excellent.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem after an 8 hour bike ride around the city. We were a little road dusty and definitely not dressed to impress; the staff didnt bat an eye, they were friendly and seated us right away. We had the wagu beef & bechamel lasagna...it came out bubbling hot and oozing with cheese...a nice size portion for $24. The lasagna was delicious and hit the spot.

Da Claudio in NYC is a culinary gem, known for its exceptional carpaccio. The thinly sliced prime beef melts in your mouth, accompanied by fresh arugula, shaved Parmesan, and a tangy olive oil reduction. With impeccable service and a welcoming atmosphere, Demara was a wonderful welcoming server and bar tender, she made a unique spectacular drink to my wife’s liking, and was very attentive. Excellent food. Very high quality. Dont be fooled by the interior decorations and outside which dont do justice to the quality of food and service. This place is Hidden gem and people should know about it. I was blown away.

  • Review 94 (2019-02-13 - Rating: 5)

My fourth visit and as expected, service and food was excellent. It is a bit different than other options in the neighborhood and in a nice way. Attentive service without being too bothersome. Good wine and food selection. Nice seating and not a lot of noise so you can actually have a conversation. Well done.

One of the best eggplant parmigiana I ever had.It was light and not greasy at all, as often happen. I believe their secret is to first bake the eggplant instead of frying it.Top flavor

I had the best time at Da Claudio 😊 I ordered the Burrata and the Wagyu Bolognese and was super impressed by how flavorful everything was. The ambience also added to the experience; I definitely recommend coming here if you are downtown.

Pure Italy in NYC. The best Gluten free pasta I have ever had— the creamy mushroom truffle suace is a must.

Excellent Italian food with attentive service and pleasant ambiance.

We had a great lunch here. Cacio de pepe, papardelle in a sun-dried tomato sauce and arugula salad washed down with a barbera dalba made a perfect lunch. Reasonable price for the amount and the quality.

Wife and I finally tried Da Claudio late last night a little after 10pm. We were neighborhood fans of Claudios old restaurant, Barbarini by the seaport that was wrecked by Sandy. This new venture is more ambitious, and he nails it. The concept of having a salumeria as part of the restaurant really lends old world authenticity. That part is the same, but this time he is running a large, very high quality staff with an open kitchen, uniformed chefs, an expert mixologist all in addition to the dedicated, knowledgable salumeria guy who creates the excellent cheese and salumi plates that were always the draw for us back at Barbarini. The whole experience is really elevated dining and really on a par with the best Italian places in the city. The pasta dishes we had were VERY strong. Melt in you mouth gnocchi and fresh pesto and olive oil fettucini. For a guide our other favorite places are Osteria Morini and Locanda Verdi and Da Claudio for us in now in the same league despite not having the celebrity backing from afar. Claudio was there last night and we imagine almost around the clock keeping things up to exacting standards. We really hope his vision succeeds for his sake and for the sake of downtown Manhattan. We are really lucky to have someone of this calibre willing to invest this much this far south on the island.

Enjoyable and cozy, the ambiance is nice specially the walls decorated with old school Italian comic books. Its a little bit hidden but getting there is worth it. Not one of the greatest but a good place if youre nearby.

This afternoon I went to Da Claudio for lunch. I had the Brodetto di Pesce (fish soup) with Lobster Tomato Broth, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp and Calamari (squid). It was properly flavored and not at all overpowering. The fish was perfectly cooked. Service was perfect, the room was small but pretty, and the entire staff was extremely pleasant. I will give the 5 stars as the service carried them over the foods 4.5.

  • Review 130 (2018-12-30 - Rating: 5)

There’s a lot of mediocre, overpriced Italian food around, but I thought this was actually really good. I tried Caesar salad and lasagna, both excellent.

  • Review 133 (2023-11-22 - Rating: 5)

Dropped in recently as visiting New York and I was very impressed with the bar scene. The pre-dinner crowd are great fun and the drinks menu and appetizers in happy hour are delicious. If you do stay for dinner it’s modern Italian with a twist and very nice wines too. I recommend coming back or visiting for the first time!Kevin 11/22/23Dropped by the low-key soft opening of Da Claudio last night on Anne St. These are the guys who run Cafe Linda in Midtown (a great lunch) and the ill-fated Barbarini (destroyed during Sandy). Anyway, great to see them bringing something good to the neighborhood - and good it is too! Remarkably inventive cocktails (they desiccate their own pomegranates, sumptuous starters and plenty of deli-cheese-meat type stuff that will please your inner-italian (and lets face it who does not like Italian eh?) And one other surprise - much cheaper than your average Tribeca fair! i cant wait for the take out options. It gets 5 stars as I got to kiss a famous supermodel in there - wont name names of course, mainly because her husband might be tougher than me.
