Il Fiorista is an absolute gem that I’ve visited multiple times, both for brunch and aperitivo hour, and it never fails to impress. The service is consistently excellent — attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. It’s the kind of place where you always feel welcomed and taken care of.The food here is incredible! For brunch, I ordered a Mimosa, Prosciutto Benedict, and the meatball sandwich. The Prosciutto Benedict was an absolute standout — a solid 10/10 with perfectly poached eggs, a rich hollandaise sauce, and the savory touch of prosciutto. Simply delicious! For dinner, we shared a bottle of Prosecco, Calamari, and their burgers. The burger is a masterpiece in simplicity — juicy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. It’s proof that sometimes less is more. The calamari was also fantastic, perfectly cooked and impressively fresh. The ambiance at Il Fiorista is charming and stylish, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch, dinner, or just drinks, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommend! -

My favorite dishes from this Italian restaurant are grilled Bronzino, Beet salad and fried calamari. The calamari is tender and crispy, lightly breaded. Grilled Bronzino was cooked perfectly. We plan to go back here in June for a farewell party. -

Attended a work event here and had a grand time! Drinks were great along with finger food like meatballs, mushroom arancini, sliders, and chicken skewers. The highlight was the bouquet station where we could create our own batch to take home. Super fun! Shout out to Karina and Armando for great attention and support. -

Run don’t walk. I’m from New Orleans and I’ll say possibly the best service and food I’ve had in a long time. Lobster pasta - beet salad - lave cake were absolutely delicious. Bartender was outstanding -

Food was good but the burger was quite small for the price and didn’t come with a side. The ambiance is super pretty and perfect for brunch. A bit on the pricey side especially with the portion sizes. The buckwheat pancake was amazing though and I would highly recommend that for brunch. -

You are welcomed by many bouquets of flowers decorating the restaurant. Its a pretty place to have a mid day cocktail and light food with a friendly atmosphere. The drinks have a very unique nature: cooperated mixes, such as lavender.... And ......Something that comes with salad is very fresh and crisp. Makes you feel healthy by just biting into them. It seems they sell and arrange flowers for you for purchase. Also, its located right across from a unique flea market, every Saturday, you can browse before or after the restaurant visit. -

What a fantastic experience. We found this place on Google while looking for spots with tasting menus that were reasonable, and this fit the bill perfectly. The interior is very cool (and floral), the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff great. We did the tasting menu (4 courses but 8 dishes) and had wine and the total was $300 before tip. They even brought us champagne because it was my wife’s 30th birthday, which was unexpected and so nice. The hostess was very fun and spent time getting to know us.The food is creative, floral, and delicious. Portions are nice also, which was appreciated. The trout tartar was one of the best dishes I’ve even had; the pappardelle was delicious; the deserts were excellent as well. All dishes incorporate flowers in some manner, which is fun and creative as well. 10 out of 10. -

This restaurant was super cute and quaint. I loved all of the plants in the restaurant and in the little greenhouses outside where the outside seating is. We tried two dinner options and both desserts, along with a couple cocktails. Everything looked beautiful and tasted great. The flavors were unique and fresh - I’ve never had any dishes like the ones served before. I’m so happy we walked by and decided to check it out. -

TLDR: This is a gem in Nomad, a must go! All the other reviewers are right, go and try it out! Great food, fantastic staff and wonderful surroundings! Phenomenal!I stumbled across this place as I was browsing the restaurant week locations in the neighborhood, and it was a place I hadnt heard of before - Im a foodie so this really peaked my interest! Apparently it opened in 2019, and the other reviews looked great! So off I trotted to check it out.First impressions- well, this is different! Nice restaurant, but without all the pretentiousness of a bunch of other places in nomad! Striking (and beautiful!) artwork on the walls, an elegant monstera plant as you walk in, cut flowers in a vase on every table -- really different, in a good way. Dont get me wrong, the place is as neat as a button, with precise attention to detail (e.g. Frette napkins), but with effortless understatement. The maitre D was also really friendly in a genuine way (your think that was a given for the job, but surprising how much it isnt the case!).The ambiance was also really reminiscent of a great neighborhood restaurant, lots of close friends chatting and having a good time over some good wine in a relaxed atmosphere. A couple of people on a date tucked away in a corner giggling with each other. And then we get to the food. Wow. The aim of the menu is to bring the benefits of flowers to the menu, and it does that elegantly. No surprises, the menu is very plant forward - no vegetarian friends are going to be disappointed here, and so I opted for this path on this occasion. Everything was really really good, except for one thing. The pappardelle. It wasnt just really good, it was excellent. Lavender and lemon and Pecorino...on pasta?! Who would have thought this odd combination would be such a masterstroke. I was blown away. If you go here, make sure you get this dish. I had to stop midway and take a picture (which does not do justice to how tasty the dish was!).Oh and keep some space for dessert. The apple bombolone, was really light, and just the perfect end to this brilliant meal.If youre still reading, STOP READING and just go. If youre anything like me, you wont be disappointed! -

Totally amazing venue in NYC! Food, service, atmosphere, drinks, hostess, servers all phenomenal! This place gives you a taste of Italy with a twist! Its a hidden gem on 26th St. In downtown Manhattan. It doesnt matter if its a party of 20 or a tiny party of one, they bring their best service to you and your table. Give them a chance if you are in the area! The hostess of the year is Coreen! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! -

As a walk in on a Saturday night, I was pleasantly surprised; not only to be given a table, but first class service, delicious food, and portions so generous I have an entire second meal. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and generous, and the tasting menu had such flavorful food it was hard to stop myself from finishing every bite, but then I might not have made it through my dessert course! (I did!)Do yourself a favor and stop in, you will be glad you did! -

This is an odd little jewel. The decor is what I would associate with breakfast but they are not open for breakfast. It’s a restaurant you’d expect to see 30 feet from the beach in Miami. The food is great and the staff adorable. -

Sat outside with dog - quiet and pleasant. Great food and service - arancini and tuna tarare toast stood out among appetizers. Branzino was best I’ve had in a long time - perfectly cooked, nicely composed with spinach and eggplant swoosh (and arrived hot!). Service was attentive - didn’t get forgotten as often happens outdoors. All around solid. A notch above other good traditional Italian fare in area. -
Review 20 (2021-11-29 - Rating: 5)
Love this place!!! Highly recommended the shakshuka, the combination of egg end sauce is rich but not greasy, which makes an amazing harmony…can’t get enough!! Also the interior decorating is so pleasing😍😍😍 -

Took a little long for service, but not bad. Friendly. Dinner was delicious, small servings, but it was just right. I didnt overeat. DONT order the tiramisu. But fresh, and mostly whipped cream. Very little tiramisu. -

We hosted a work retirement dinner event in Il Fioristas private room. The service, food, and atmosphere were all fantastic. The honoree could not stop raving about what a fantastic time they had (and what a good job I did picking out the restaurant!). It was also a very easy process to get everything arranged ahead of time. I recommend considering Il Fiorista for any events! -
Review 23 (2022-04-19 - Rating: 4)
I went there to meet my friends at 5.30 pm. It wasnt a time that we wanted to drink and we werent that hungry, so we got two main courses for 3 people. The attitude of the attendant was unbelievable. He wasnt happy with us not ordering drinks and sharing food and ruined the experience. Probably wont go back. -

The best bread!! Baked on the premise, Id come here for the bread alone. Great spot for summer late afternoons, sitting outdoors with a cold drink and a bunch of apps. Their menu changes quite frequently so its refreshing but would definitely love some of the more floral dishes to come back. -

Review 31 (2022-09-25 - Rating: 5)
My friends and I had a lovely time here. The staff were very accommodating and prompt with service. We were celebrating one of us receiving their doctorate and they let us decorate our area with balloons and other festive items. Our server Caleb S. went above the call of duty and gave our friend a bouquet of flowers and was very attentive to our needs. We would definitely enjoy dining here again. Food was a bit pricey for small portions although every dish tasted good. -
Review 32 (2022-10-30 - Rating: 5)
This review is for brunch. I found the restaurant on pulsd.First and foremost - setting is casual and spacious with high ceilings and light color scheme. It was very welcoming after a long night in crowded spaces.Service was on point. My glass of water felt forever-full. The waiter was very friendly and helpful when we had questions.FOOD! Oh my. As someone who loves to cook and has a hard time finding places that can hold up to my ridiculous standards these days; I am bowled over at the quality and creativity. The food portions are appropriate. Flavors are mild but not understated. Everything was cooked to perfection. Most importantly they use clean and fresh ingredients. I will visit NYC again just to eat here.10/10 -

Review 34 (2023-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Il Fiorista is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I have stopped by for brunch, lunch, dinner, and aperitivo. Their rotating menu keeps things fresh and offers a unique experience every visit. Most dishes can easily be comfort food with a refined twist to the typical Italian and Mediterranean options.I have brought countless family members, friends, and colleagues who have all enjoyed their dining experience. I especially enjoy their papardelle and the burrata. One season I had a decadent buckwheat waffle; it was airy, perfectly sweet, and filling. I paired it with a floral latte for brunch. Other menu options to indulge on are the arancini, Il Fiorista burger, shakshuka, crispy fish sandwich, and sweet potatoe gnocchi. The cherry on top for me is that they serve exquisite mocktails. My favorite is the non alcoholic version of their signature Thorne on my side. -

Review 36 (2024-09-03 - Rating: 5)
This place has got to be one of the best places I’ve dined. Firstly, their service is impeccable. I accidentally booked for less than were in my party but the accommodated so easily. Honestly, we were probably a frustrating group to deal with. But everything was without hesitation and truely exceptional. We all ordered the 3 course option, some opted for the wine pairing too. No one said a single bad thing about either. The burrata was creamy, the NY strip tender and desert decadent.I want to give a special thanks to Aaron for all his NYC recommendations and first class service throughout the evening. Also a mention to the host (I didn’t grab his name) for so easily accomodating us upon such late notice.Anyone visiting (or living in) New York should make a trip to this place, you won’t regret it. -

This restaurant was phenomenal. The cocktails were well balanced and lovely. My mom and I had the gnocchi and the skate wing and it was incredible! The space had a cute and fresh feeling on the inside and the patio was to die for with a nice summer breeze. I’ll be back anytime im visiting nyc! -

Review 41 (2022-09-21 - Rating: 5)
Okay, let me give you the full low down of this place. You might want to sit down for this.Everything about this place was amazing. In no particular order, just off the top of my head:I walked in and the lighting was perfect. I’m not one to notice lighting ever, but that’s how perfect it was. It was bright enough that I could see my dinner partner, the menu, the decor, the food. It wasn’t so bright that I felt blinded. The lighting was well done. The decor is very simple but very cute. I love the high ceilings, the painting on the wall. The colors go well together. Everything feels so light there. Side note: if you want to match the decor or vibe of the place, wear lighter color clothing.Everything looked so good, and we couldn’t decide, so we did the chef’s tasting menu for $85 and the wine pairing for $65 each. Worth. Every. Penny. We started with olives to share, and this was somehow the zeroth course. First course (family style): tuna toast, light/fresh salad, and burrata. Second course was fresh pasta and (shared) bread/oil. Third course was beef, fish, and carrots (we treated this as family style). Fourth was some lavender ice cream with espresso and (shared) chocolate mousse with prickly pear flavored creme(?) on top. I did not take pictures because it was a work dinner, but I wish I did. I don’t have the culinary vocabulary to describe these dishes in more detail, or I would. It was more amazing than I could possibly describe specifically in words. It sounds like a lot of food, and that’s because it is. Eat a small lunch to leave room for dinner here. The wines were excellent and paired very well with each course. There’s nothing more to say about this. The service was top notch. Everybody was very professional and we never felt rushed. We were there for 3 hours (granted, on a Tuesday) by choice. The noise level was perfect. When we got there at 6:15, the music was quiet enough to have conversation but loud enough to hear and enjoy it. Even as the place filled up by the end of the night, the acoustics in the restaurant must have absorbed the sound because I did not have to yell to talk to my dinner partner. The table spacing was great. They were efficient with the space but I didn’t feel too close to any other table. It’s not always like that in NYC.This one might be weird but it shows that every detail matters to this place. The restrooms were very clean, and it actually smelled great. They had very pleasant but not overpowering potpourri in there. When the check arrives, it comes with a postcard. I took it with me to put in my home so I never forget this dinner. In summary, run don’t walk. -

I was gonna go to Izakaya Nomad but it was closed so I just entered this restaurant to have a little drink. It was happy hour time and price was decent. Half off for house wine(bottle), good price for appetizer -
Review 43 (2021-07-28 - Rating: 5)
We love this place. My wife and live nearby and go when we can. The food is high quality, simple and delicious. The flowers are beautiful and for sale. Portions are small but beautifully curated. Cocktails are updated often and excellent. Service is always top notch. We were there last night, had 3 appetizers, 1 entree, 3 cocktails, $150 = $50 gratuity. One cocktail was too strong for my wife and they swapped it out which they didnt have to do. Generous gestures like this are so appreciated. Will be back soon! -

I came with a friend for Brunch, food and cocktails were really good, even for Manhattan standards. I had the best shakshuka Ive had in my life. The only downside was that it a bit empty, great service other than that. -

Brunch was so delicious that we came back for dinner. At brunch, we shared softly scrambled eggs and steak and egg. It was the best softly scrambled eggs. Melted in my mouth and super tasty. Hubbys steak was perfectly medium rare and the potatoes oh-so-crispy. Now, were having their heirloom tomato salad, artichokes, fusilli with rabbit and roasted chicken. Yum 😋. Staff are super friendly. Shout out to Steven and Jeff for wonderful friendly service. We will be back. -

This is my favorite restaurant in NYC that never disappoints! Went here most recently over the weekend for the happy hour. Food was great and service amazing. The bartender did a great job of explaining the cocktail menu and suggesting pairing options for our food. Will be back! -
Review 50 (2021-03-28 - Rating: 4)
Food was very good earthy flavors. Drinks were strong but tasty, great outdoor dining and super cute greenhouses for larger parties. Prob fix requirement for greenhouses and indoors but a l cart options for other outdoor tables. Service was a little slow for the price of the restaurant and we would have like a little more attention which is why we rated 4 stars. But overall it was a good experience, good food and great presentation. -
Review 51 (2020-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Love this spot! It’s right in my neighborhood and quickly became a staple restaurant for brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is always fresh, delicious and well plated, with seasonal changes. Everything is healthy, so you always leave feeling light, but satisfied. I always request Marco as my server- he is an absolute delight and is very knowledgeable of the menu options and always remembers my favorite bubbly! While the ambiance and feel of Il Fiorista is already charming and relaxed, Marco adds to the whole feeling with his cheerful, welcoming persona. -

Thank you, Alison, for the speedy late night seating! The short, select dinner menu is much appreciated! The wine selection is solid, but more options by the glass would benefit. The tuna tartare toast is a must-try. Be warned to order Secondi with Pasta if you are really hungry. Close your dining with their donuts! -

Cute interior and decor. Service was average and the food was good. Some dishes were a pleasant surprise. The place is not crowded which is a plus and they have quite a few selection of dining areas to choose from. The price of the food, I thought was of good value as well. -

UPDATED:I originally wrote my review after attending a flower arranging class which I LOVED! Finally got there for dinner and it was AMAZING.- Amazing food- Nice Vibe- Super friendly staff from Jeffrey to host sign the most , to Jessica the floral director, Rae the chef & Steven the barista!- lovely flowers for sale! The food was beautiful and delicious. It’s a vegetable forward menu with super creative combinations. Vegan options which I of course love! They even brought an extra appetizer our for us - compliments of the chef. It was particularly Nice because it’s too single ladies we don’t often get treated very much LOL it was a nice pick me up and very thoughtful. It’s the little things like that that make you loyal to a restaurant..They deserve a Michelin star ⭐️ and while I want them to get one I selfishly fear they will be come too popular & I won’t be able to get a reservation! I will need to frequent often & make an impression 😉*****Ok, I will update this review when I eat there but I went today for the first time for a flower arrangement class and loved the vibe! Everyone was so nice & welcoming and the restaurant is adorable! Plus they are farm-to-table which we love!Jessica taught the class and she was so informative and kind. Jaycee was also so warm & friendly! It was a fun no-pressure class and everyone taking the class was super friendly too! -

I enjoyed brunch here and the staff were friendly. I had hoped for floral embellishments to my rum cocktail and waffle, but I guess I ordered the 2 things lacking those adornments. My date had very interesting looking ingredients in his meal. Everything was well prepared and tasty. -
Review 69 (2021-05-04 - Rating: 4)
Charming brunch spot! The name means “florist” in Italian so the decor and atmosphere is plant-forward, sunny and airy. The food is certainly casual with an upscale twist. I highly recommend the BLT that was more of a breakfast sandwich since it included an egg. But the artistic twist was the schmear of bacon marmalade. Yes. Bacon marmalade. It was more savory than sweet and just the perfect pair to the creative sandwich. Better than the food was the incredibly cheery and attentive staff. The only warning I have is, they haven’t figured out temperature control in the uber cute “greenhouses” they’ve erected for pandemic-era outside kinda dining. If you’re in those greenhouses when the sun is out...you’ll need to dress appropriately-it gets SUPER hot in those things!! -

My friend Armando took us here for dinner tonight- it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing, service was professional and attentive- I had the lobster pasta- the sauce was so yummy and the pasta was cooked perfectly- we had the burrata, squash blossoms and arancini to start! All delicious! Desert was lovely! Cocktails were well crafted- Angel was our server- but the bartender was also checking up on us- it was a great experience! Made my Sunday! -

Honestly I was a little put off by the vibe of the menu first, thought it is an obnoxious hippy all-show-no-skill place. It’s not. Everything is delicious. I had the monk fish and adffogato. -

Review 78 (2020-07-26 - Rating: 5)
We ate outside, given the pandemic, which was a bit sad given how beautiful is their space but they made the street side beautiful with a ton of plants and flowers all over (on brand). Or really feels different from any of these other street side places, the foliage does great at insulating you.The food was fantastic: interesting, different and very vegetable forward. Highly recommend the panzanella salad, which comes with a beautiful mix of fresh and marinated squash. The seed crackers are also just incredible. We shared the anelli nero with shrimp and lamb sausage and that was also a real winner. The whole dish works together well, and I dont usually like pasta much. -

What a lovely restaurant! My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and drinks on a Thursday evening. The drinks were incredible! I had a gin cocktails with elderflower and the cocktail glass was decorated in flowers from their floral shop. It was beautiful! Their food was incredible, too.I learned that while eating dinner, you could order a floral bouquet to go and they’d have it made to order and ready for you by the time you left. What a cute idea!I discovered the restaurant on Pulsd and am so happy I found it 😊 -

I must say, a five-star rating is unconventional for me but oh so worth it for this spot. My friend and I were treated like royalty from the very start of our evening at Il Fiorista. We both enjoyed the tasting menu with a wine pairing. The decadent salmon tartare, delicious dandelion salad, perfectly tender short rib and chicken…and the pappardelle! Absolutely divine. Botanical infusions paired with fresh pasta - what more could you ask for?Besides the quality of the food, staff were impeccable. Waiting on us was Francisco, who made sure glasses were filled and stomachs, satisfied. All that with a gentle smile. Needless to say, our experience was magnificent, and Il Fiorista has quickly become a fan favourite for us Canadians. The manager, Allison, was just as lovely as she came to check on us throughout the night. We ended with a fresh affogato and most spectacular semi-freddo. Neither of us could bear to digest any more, but we did not want the night to end! What a fantastic find. We’ll be back. Thank you to the staff and our compliments to the chef! -

Review 118 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 4)
Beautiful, stunning and the food is incredible. The only weird issue we had was the time it took for the pasta entrees to come out was obscenely long. We were the first ones there for dinner service and the entrees still took a long time (30+ minutes) after our apps came out (which came quick). I asked the server about it and they said “4 minutes” and it came out in another 8 or so. I saw a few other reviews on here now stating the same issue. Great place, but figure out the timing please. -

I love this place! My husband and I come often for brunch or dinner and I had my baby shower in their private dining room. It’s really cute and you can always count on great service and a great meal. I always get the burger cause I can’t help myself. We come so often that the staff recognizes us and treats us like family. I highly recommend for a date night or a ladies brunch! -

Review 123 (2023-09-19 - Rating: 5)
What a lovely, bright space, if a little loud (music). We decided to sit outside, which was also lovely in a NY streetscape way. Service (at least 4 servers worked with us) was excellent. We only shared appetizers, which were all plentiful enough to share. The wine list is good, a wide range of prices. Will definitely go back, with a heartier appetite, to try the interesting entrées. -
Review 124 (2023-10-29 - Rating: 5)
An Italian restaurant, with a big underlying on florals. Decorated beautifully. The chefs tasting menu was delicious with layered flavors (especially the pea risotto and salmon and ragu pasta) and perfectly timed. The cocktails were refreshing and light. Service was some of the best we experienced in NYC. This place is a must try, you wont be disappointed. -

I came here for a work event cooking class and had a lovely time! The instructor/chef was funny and engaging. She taught us a lot about pasta (and ricotta) making! We not only got to make, roll and shape dough, but we got to eat our creations!! I love that the menu is so floral-focused. It added a lovely complexity to the pasta.Additionally, I’m lactose intolerant and the meal provided for me was delicious!! I really appreciated the accommodation. My drink was just alright - a coworker sent back her espresso martini and I wasn’t wowed by the spritzer.Otherwise, lovely time! I’ll have to go back for dinner again -
Review 126 (2022-11-25 - Rating: 5)
We had a Thanksgiving dinner here today (on Thanksgiving). The service started out a bit slow. I think there might have been a bit of a rush, however they caught up. The food was excellent, and once the kitchen or staff was caught up they were great too. The salads were unique and well prepared with a balance of citrus and bitter. The artichoke came with a simple but flavorful sauce. The turkey was a bit of everything people love, some dark meat, white meat etc. Polenta came cubed and was a nice compliment to the turkey. Extra turkey was available. Yum. Lastly dessert was well portioned and better than most places in the city. The chocolate cake was fantastic. Last but not least they were wonderfully accommodating for our gluten free and vegetarian guests. Well done and thanks for a great meal! -

It’s a limited menu but I love the floral touch in each pasta and the food is delicious. Go for “flower hour” to get nicely priced drinks and apps! They also have flower arrangement classes here, which I think is super cool and makes this place truly unique. The outdoor seating is nice and it’s right by Madison square park. I’ll definitely go again soon, as I’ve already been twice now! -

Amazing food and wonderful service. We shared the sweet potato sourdough (definitely order it — it was amazing) and each ordered the gnocchi, which was delightful. My only qualm is that the spinach in the dish was uncooked and wouldve been nicer if it was at least wilted or sauteed. The raw spinach leaves were a little difficult to eat. -

Review 150 (2022-06-04 - Rating: 5)
Il Fiorista’s artful conceit is that all of the dishes are focused on flowers, or at minimum, contain at least one flower. Though the premise could easily venture into kitsch, the chef at Il Fiorista blends myriad flavors (and flowers) to create lovely, inviting dishes. The flowers become a nice thematic touch, rather than an impediment to excellent flavor. The drinks follow the same theme. We have visited Il Fiorista on several occasions. Each time has resulted in excellent dinner met with well-executed meals, proteins cooked correctly, vegetables crisp when they need to be, and thoughtful additions of edible, seasonal local greens. Gnocchi was brought to perfection after being toasted and swirled in a buttery sauce with a hint of citrusy lemon and brought to greater complexity with maitake mushrooms. Steak was perfectly tender while being paired with, among other flavors, the previously-unheard-of “lamb’s quarter” green leaves. We’ve had oysters on ice, miso-marinated fish, and trout tartare – all of excellent quality and handled with an attention to detail not seen elsewhere.Frankly, Il Fiorista is an undiscovered gem. The space is well-lit due to the enormous windows with high ceilings, and at night the lights drape you in an easy, comforting vibe. There is outdoor seating as well, to enjoy a summer breeze or avoid a COVID wave. The music is never too loud and the service always superb. When you walk in there is always in impressive floral display to meet you. Ostensibly, you can take a class to learn about flowers and perhaps eat as well – though we’ve never tried it, it would likely not be the worst way to spend an afternoon. In short, a dinner at Il Fiorista will yield top-notch, well-thought through food in a comfy environment. -
