We went on a special night… Monday night when a regular was there who has been featured in a lot of places. He’s not in nyc anymore. Loved this piano night with professional singers.. drinks aren’t amazing but the prices are reasonable. We got a table and it was fun.

Sid Golds Detroit for the win! We hosted a pre-wedding karaoke party for our chorus singing wedding guests and had the TIME OF OUR LIVES! Friendly and helpful staff, delicious drinks, welcoming and supportive karaoke space, and fantastic accompanist. We truly could not have imagined a better way to kick off our wedding weekend, and we cant wait to come back soon, and check out the New York location. Huge shout out to Eduardo and John for hooking our larger than standard group up with the space so quickly, and making the reservation process so smooth. If you are in Detroit, and want that wonderful motown vibe, you cant pass up Sid Golds.

Love this place so much! One of the funnest places to do karaoke in NYC. The piano players are always super talented and nice and they have a long list of songs they can play that spans decades. The drinks are cheap and the staff is nice. Will definitely be returning regularly:)

Heres the thing that makes a piano karaoke bar the best thing ever... the crazy supportive atmosphere. From the pianist to the audience, if you start floundering they will save you. The best songs are the ones where everyone gets to join in on the chorus.Theres zero pressure to perform, but if you do... High fives abound! The skill level is a great mix. And what you dont have in skill, you can easily make up with alcohol. The pours have gotten better, thank God, so my brokeass can still make a night of if for well under 50 bucks.But dont forget to bring cash to fill up the jar!The microphone may not smell like a beer, but if you sit at the bar, put bread in the jar and say, Man, what are you doin here? Im stealing Julians schtick, but Im sure the King of Banter doesnt mind. I usually come for Julian Velards session on Wednesdays 9pm - 1am, but I need to start coming more than once a week. There are other pianists and performers in rotation and Joe McGintys playlist is turning into the Magna Carta.I would never judge you for practicing before hand. Just dont listen to Aretha Franklins version of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Dont do it to yourself. Thats just cruel. Of course Billy Joel is on the playlist, but so are Wham! and Madonna. If you can manage Borderline, youre my hero.I have never failed to have a great time here. Never. Piano karaoke is AWESOME.

Live piano karaoke is the only way to go! This is the best karaoke bar in New York City, hands down. It’s not just the classy-lounge vibe. You haven’t truly enjoyed karaoke until you’ve sung on a stage, with a masterful accompanist on keys (such as the renowned Joe McGinty, of the Psychedelic Furs, who often plays.) You’ll feel like you’re starring in your own movie musical, or headlining on Broadway.I love ya, Sid’s! This is a cozy little karaoke bar with live piano accompaniment. Theres bar seating in the front, with the karaoke section in the back, divided by a curtain.The tables in the karaoke section need to be reserved, I believe, though I think theyll take walk ins if theres availability. Reserving via Google maps or their website is very straightforward, with no issues that Ive seen. There is a 2-drink minimum per person, and they do have nonalcoholic mocktail options.While the nightly vibe can vary depending on how many people are there, its always been fun to go. People are supportive, no matter your singing skills!

Came here for karaoke! It was a Wednesday night and there was a decent crowd. FYI for people unfamiliar with this bar: you karaoke to piano music! No machine, no lyrics, so pick a song you know really well (and pull up your song lyrics on Google)! Its a bit more difficult than using a machine! We had so much fun and the pianist, Rob was pretty quick with calling people who signed up. This is definitely a unique experience that my New Yorker friend said is a very New York thing. Two drink minimum per person, but the cocktails are pretty good. I had the Ginger Baker and my buddy had the Moscow Mule.

Had an amazing time here singing with friends. Such a lovely crowd. The regulars as so sweet. Everyone was so happy to be there and enjoy each others company. I hope I can return to this place someday! It was spectacular! Theres a back private section that is a karaoke spot (or maybe they just told us out-of-towners it was private so we felt more exclusive ;) ) with a live piano. The pianist was very good and she definitely was able to read the singers tempo well and make it work. Our party was a bit loud and having fun, but at no time did we feel ostracized. Sid Golds Request Room was a very fun establishment, super rad and enjoyable! We made some really good memories singing here late/early into the morning!

This is a cute little place to enjoy if you like to do karaoke because they have live karaoke in the back room. What I like is also that the front room is totally separated from the back room so if you just wanna enjoy a drink in the front during happy hour for example, you can do that.it also seems that everyone that comes here wants the music so it’s a great little environment in the back and so fine and you can request your own song. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

If you have the chance, go there for the piano karaoke. The pianist is lovely, entertaining, and knows how to save the crowd from some really bad performances. Prices at the place are a bit steep but it is a piano bar in Midtown/Chelsea, so what did you expect. Really puzzling is how good they manage the different acoustics, blasting rock music at the bar while the piano plays in the back room. It works somehow!

My boyfriend and I spent the day exploring Chelsea Market, Little Island, The Highline, and Hudson Yards. We decided that we would walk back to our hotel in Times Square. We love live music and this is how I can upon Sid Gold’s Request Room. Other than that I didn’t read any of the other reviews. At first it was a little hard to find, but we found it.When we walked in there was nobody in the front half of the bar except two bartenders. It was a Monday night. The asked us if we were there to see the piano and that we just needed to go behind the curtain.When we went behind the curtain to the other half of the bar we found piano karaoke of showtunes and musicals. The individuals singing were extremely talented. We felt like we were on Broadway. I wanted to sing Hello Dolly but I was too scared maybe next time after some practice.The next morning I asked my boyfriend what his favorite part of the day before was and he said the piano karaoke. He said they all just sang so beautifully and it was such a unique experience. I said that’s what I love about Mew York City you can go for a walk any place and stumble across one of the best times or nights you have had. Everyone was welcoming and kind at Sid Gold’s thanks for sharing your talents with us.

We came here for an office holiday party and had THE BEST time. There was a pretty large selection of karaoke tunes to choose from and lots of great appetizers. Seating was a little tight so if you have a huge company party, this place may not work. But if your group really love each other, they wont mind the squeeze.

Not so much for the solo singer, definitely a place for couples and groups. Middle age crowd. Front bar area with great 90s rock and attentive bartenders. Small apps, pizzas, and such available. They look like they pour very strong drinks. I got Angry Orchard cider for $7. Karaoke with performer extraordinaire Leslie Goshko live on piano and providing backup. Nowhere to sit though. Intimate lounge, guess you need to come early for a seat. Would like to come back with a group.

The bar was great. The pianist, though :/ . I have been to other Sid gold’s location e.g in Detroit and had a great time. The pianist last seemed to had favored one group over others. Our group’s song request were skipped over and were sparsed in between. I personally waited more than an hour before I get to sing another song, while a few people have sang twice by this time, and a particular group who appreared to be friends of the pianist have had multiple people singing multiple times. I have had friends who came and left without singing, which was a disappointing experience. I understand that the pianist wants to go through as many people as possible and I applaud that. But there was clearly one group with a 2-3 people who had sang 2-3 times while I have to wait more than an hour before my second song and a couple of people from our group didn’t get called up at all despite putting in their song request more than an hour before closing time. It felt Iike we were crashing their parties and the pianist just didn’t like us (although I’m sure it’s not true). As a cherry on top, before we close, the pianist said we only have time for 2 more songs, said sorry that he cannot go through everyone and called a girl that have sang 3 times (guess from which group ;) )! I understand that the pianist wants everyone to had a go but choosing song/singer arbitrarily instead of following the request lists and only skipping over people who clearly been going up too many times, just makes his life unnecessarily difficult and left guests felt unfairly treated. Especially when one group is clearly favored. Overall we had fun but it’s somewhat disappointing. I’m sure he was trying his best and mean no harm. But our experience was…meh.

Sure, sure... heres a nice little $8 brussel sprout appetizer with almond slices and honey butter. What they DONT tell you is that its so addictive that before you know it, youve spent $80 buying them over and over, and youre out in the street screaming about brussel sprouts.Seriously... a lovely place, with great staff, great music and wonderful food. (And the live piano karaoke ROCKS)But STAY AWAY FROM THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS.

This review would be 5 stars but the AC was broken on a 90+ degree evening.Sid Gold’s was fantastic! I met friends for a joint birthday party and it was the perfect atmosphere for our group of 10. We started seated in the front with drinks and moved to the bar to stand as the group increased in size and to share food.The food was great and I highly recommend the pizza’s and the pigs in a blanket!At some point we moved to the back room for piano karaoke. Yes! It is as amazing as it sounds. Some of the signers were superb and they graciously put up with our off-key bunch.I should mention I went on a Monday night and it was still great fun. Got home way too late and couldn’t believe the time we had.Thanks to the bartender and the pianist for a great night.

Sid Gold’s is one of New York’s ‘hidden gems’ that has to be experienced to be believed.Only in New York can you slip through a curtain behind a bar to find a lively room filled with people hanging out at tables and singing along with the punters on the mike accompanied by one of the many Piano virtuosos at Sid’s.I have been going to Sid’s regularly for several years now and always feel the love when I grab the mike to belt out a song or two.Great place to come alone, with a friend or family.Only note is that they don’t serve food, so best to grab a bite before going and also I recommend making a reservation, even on the day as it can get booked out.Hope to see you there one evening.

Probably my favorite place in New York City! The staff and clientele are extremely welcoming and supportive of anyone who wants to get on stage. The pianists are all talented musicians who make the experience feel like more than just your typical karaoke - no singing experience required! Perhaps the best piano bar in Manhattan (and I have been to most of them!). The decor is very cool, the service is great, the room works well for the piano, and the drink prices are quite reasonable. You will be limited to 2 hours at your table (unless it is not reserved after you have it) and there is a two drink minimum. Important: the only food they have is popcorn and nuts but you can bring your own food from outside!! Be prepared to sing!

Absolutely adorable back room piano bar offering unique experiences every night of the week. We were traveling in NYC and happened upon this gem on a Monday night when they do Musical Mondays with Deweys Piano Party. An incredible pianist and vibrant personality, Dewey accompanies an intimate group through solos and group songs mostly off Broadway. While my sister and I didnt sing, we thoroughly enjoyed being treated to some truly talented singers. It seems like there is a regular crowd who attends Musical Mondays, but even though we were new, Dewey, the host, and several others said hello and welcomed us.The drinks at the bar are delicious and unique. I recommend Always On My Mind.Look no further for a truly magical evening in NYC.

Sid’s vibes are great and the singers are amazing! I give 5 stars to Ben Easton cause when I came last week, he didn’t seem to have favorites when he was choosing singers but when I came tonight, Dewey seemed to have his people who sang multiple times and I waited 2 hours but never got chosen to sing while the group who came at the same time as us got 2 songs in. Perhaps cause they knew each other from social media or is it we have to tip handsomely to sing when he is the pianist. I am not really sure. It was still a pretty good time cause the singers tonight were amazing but if you are a regular person like me who want to sing, a karaoke room is much better to go with your friends if you want to sing a lot with a mic in hand. But if you want to have live music while drinking with the occasional chance to sing, Sid’s is the place to be. But just know that certain pianist may be pickier when choosing who will sing and you may not get to sing at all especially if it’s busy. The singers and the crowd are great though so I still give it 4 stars. Just manage your expectations about how many times you may or may not be able to sing. The drinks are pretty good as well but just know how strong your drink is before ordering.

In one room, the one you enter first, they were playing some of my favorite songs (it was a Saturday) like Arctic Monkeys, Strokes, indie rock, classic rock. Then there is this heavy curtain and you are in a karaoke/piano room that looks super cool with these niches on the walls where some tables are. It is amazing how that heavy curtain completely blocks the sound. The people singing werent very good that night but I can certainly see myself there again with my friends having the best time.
