They had me at GIANT shrimp chip.Ive always wanted to try these in Japan so Im glad to find it locally. I ate the whole thing in one sitting. The taste is addictive!Get it with the spicy tare sauce if you like a kick. Will be back to try the scallop with salty egg batter.Their Jasmine tea is also authentic and fragrant.Service was great, staff are friendly.

I visited Senbei for the second time today, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The Senbei (Japanese rice crackers) are exactly what I remembered from my trip to Japan—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I tried a few different varieties, including the spicy sauce with octopus and salted egg one with shrimp, which brought me right back to those days in Japan. I also had a strawberry matcha latte this time, and it was delicious—soothing and refreshing with just the right hint of fruitiness. To top it off, I also bought home a sesame cheesecake that was creamy and perfectly balanced. The whole experience felt like a little getaway to Japan, with the authentic flavors and cozy atmosphere. Definitely coming back soon!—————————————-New:Third time visitor to this place, the new seafood chowder is a delicious add to this place. The creamy broth is rich yet light, with a perfect balance of seafood flavors, and the texture is smooth with tender chunks of shrimp, scallops and octopus along mix of vegetables. I love the way you can pair with the freshly made Senbei, that give the satisfaction of what I needed. My kid and I also got the blueberry matcha latte to share, you can see this place is using fruit jam instead of sugar syrup, I feel better that my kid is drinking that instead of bubble tea. He loves it a lot and doesnt want to share.

Senbei NYC is a new store located in Chinatown, specializing in giant Senbei, rice crackers with fillings on the inside. The store is very nice and small, not too humid even with the rice cracker press they utilize. The workers are very nice, and even help explain the process while making the senbei. The options for the Senbei are nice, with choices between the batter used as well as the filling. The filling is seafood-based, so you can choose between shrimp, octopus, & more. It takes a few minutes to make, but the senbei is pressed down and made giant and thin, which is good for its price. The cracker is easy to break, though it was a bit tough with the octopus inside and didnt really have much more flavor added on with it there.Overall a great place to visit and try once, but I dont expect myself to be going here multiple times.

10 star service. Everything was homeade, made to order and fresh. I ordered the scallops and spicy flavor as well as the soft shell crab and shrimp flavor. The strawberry matcha was the best Ive ever had. The house made basque cheesecake blew my mind.

Yummy, crunchy senbei definitely worth a try. Watch out for the waiting since we were told 10-15 minutes with one drink and one senbei but spent 37 minutes until we got our order. I’ll definitely try again when it’s not as long wait. Also, it fun to see how your sensei is made! Lastly, latte price is a bit overly priced.

I used to love the bouncy on Mott St, now Senbei nyc is my new favor, their sesame cheesecake is really good, sesame and cheese balanced so well. I also got oolong tea, nice match with cheesecake. definitely will come back and try their cracker

Senbei NYC is a hidden gem for Japanese snacks! Their crackers are incredibly fresh, crispy, and come in a great variety of flavors. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, happy to help you pick out treats or explain different types. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic, high-quality Japanese snacks. Highly recommend

Must try if you are adventurous. Senbei is a unique place. It makes Japanese rice cracker. We ordered it with shrimp. It’s so huge and it was enough to share. We also tried Mango panna catta and it was delicious 😋 Definitely will go back there.

Scallops senbei cracker with salty egg yolk flavor was impressive . Had tako senbei once when I was in Japan but this place has more flavors, and their strawberry matcha latte is the best

Cool and amazing….Actually I tired the similar senbei in the Japanese festival…but Senbei NYC tastes much better.

Been wanting to try these Japanese rice crackers for a while. They have 4 different kinds of seafood on their menu and you can pick your own batter and flavor as well. My friend ordered the shrimp and I ordered the soft shell crab senbei, both were a hit. They were so crunchy and flavorful. If you are looking for an authentic senbei in the area, definitely check them out.

Only store in NYC that sells fresh senbei, and they have different flavors. Saved myself a trip to Japan, and the staff there is nice

Tried the sample when I was going to the bookstore across the street. Found out this place is a hidden gem. The senbei aka the shrimp cracker thing is mad lit on god on god no cap. And I also got the black sesame cheesecake. It’s 💣. A strong black sesame aroma spreading but won’t overpower the cheesecake itself, and the cheese foam is definitely highlight of the whole cake. Definitely will go back and try the Panna Cotta.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

The seafood chowder goes really well with the senbei mini.

One of a kind Japanese seafood crackers made fresh. Huge and well worth it. Got 2: the shrimp and scallop. Three big scallops and two jumbo shrimp pressed into crackers the size of my body…good to share. I like the salty egg and spicy sauce but plain is good too. A nice snack or even a meal! The Jasmine tea was very fragrant and we loved the matcha ube latte. Not too sweet and strong matcha flavor!

    Very creative and delicious!

Now you dont have to go all the way over to Japan to try these huge shrimp crackers (although, that would be the ultimate experience). I had one with a scallop, squid and a soft shelled crab in a shrimp flavored batter. Having fresh ingredients and it being made to order just takes senbei to another level. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially liked the crab. Next time I want to try the spicy flavor or the salted egg and I hear the sweets and drinks are top notch too.Its pricey, but you are getting fresh seafood and that, of course, matters. On a side note, I would love to see them sold as artwork like the displays on the wall. They are truly beautiful!

One of a kind snack that could only be found on the East Coast.

It is fun to have the giant senbei in Chinatown. Customers can see how cool the Senbei makes. The senbei is tasty. And the drinks are pretty good as well. Worth a try.
