Nice wine bar with varied by the glass options and knowledgeable friendly staff. Nice cocktail options as well. Very comfortable bar seating. Food was tasty but nothing outstanding. I would definitely come back again, its a great solid option if you want some wine or cocktails with some light food. Shrimp was tasty. Lamb skewers were not overly flavorful. Pretzel was a little lacking. Meat/cheese board was a little pricey for the amount but it was all very good. -

Awesome wine bar! Food is also excellent. Love all the staff - they’re always super friendly and on top of the service. The patio is nice in the summer, and the inside is a great place for a date. Place can get crowded so would recommend a reservation although we usually have luck with bar seating if we walk in. -

My wife took me here for my birthday last month and I really enjoyed it! We were out of town, but the way to show us a great time, shout out to Gabriel for orchestrating everything with my wife! If we go back to New York, I’m definitely going back here! -
Review 4 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 4)
Cute little spot with a cozy atmosphere indoors and outdoors. Not too pricey but most plates are small/meant to share. Their meat is good quality and well cooked, as well as fairly priced—as opposed to cheese boards, which are pretty pricey for the really small portion size. -
Review 5 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 4)
The portion sizes are Smal but it has a good atmosphere. Amazing to hand out with friends here -
Review 6 (2024-03-09 - Rating: 5)
I want to live here. Everyone was so kind and helpful. All of the food and drinks were truly delicious and it was just a fantastic evening in NYC. -
Review 7 (2023-07-29 - Rating: 5)
Great, easy spot for after-work drinks. They have a good separation of bar area from a more casual dining spot, and there’s great outdoor seating that is well shaded if it’s far too hot.Wine selection is solid. The food bites are also stellar. -
Review 8 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 5)
I absolutely love Ardesia. The vibe is so cozy, and the wine selection is so vast. The waitstaff really know their stuff when it comes to the wine, and they have decent food as well. I recently did their wine + cheese board offering as each wine is complemented by an accompanying cheese with a garnish.I also had a post-dinner drinks celebration for my birthday here, and they were able to accommodate all 7 of us. I cannot recommend Ardesia enough. -
Review 9 (2020-07-17 - Rating: 5)
Has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. Seats are nicely distanced for outdoor dining and service is great. Favorite part is the food is DELICIOUS! -
Review 10 (2023-11-02 - Rating: 5)
If you’re around the area this Fall, you must try their dirty pumpkin spice latte. It is perfect. Their wine selection is pretty good as well. I tried their chilled Bojo do Luar, from Portugal. It had a nice fruity and earthy note. -
Review 11 (2017-12-22 - Rating: 5)
Hidden gem on the upper west side with plenty of seating space for small to medium sized groups. Music at perfect volume, personnel is careful and attentive, menu has a great selection of snacks as well as prepared food and deserts. The pinot noir from Corsica was incredibly good. -
Review 12 (2019-09-25 - Rating: 4)
Ardesia Wine Bar is exactly the kind of wine bar I was hoping for tonight when meeting up with a good friend. The wine list is extensive but not exhaustive. The bartenders know more than the average set of attributes about each wine bottle, and are always happy to provide recommendations based on what youre feeling like experiencing. The ambience is intimate and warm, with a great food menu to match your wine selection. -
Review 13 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 5)
This place is a vibe. Excellent, well organized wine selection. Great service. Vibrant atmosphere. Off the beaten path of the madness of midtown which is also nice. Strongly recommend! The lamb skewers were fantastic. -
Review 14 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 4)
Good service. Nice selection of wine by the glass. Food was good. -
Review 15 (2024-02-24 - Rating: 5)
I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised at how great the service was at this very popular wine bar. We went in on a Friday night before seeing a play across the street. The staff could not have been nicer, very helpful with our selections and very professional. The manager even remembered us after we stopped back in after the play. The wine selections are nicely curated and the food is delicious. Will definitely stop back again. -
Review 16 (2023-10-09 - Rating: 4)
Such a cozy, cute place! Met a friend here for a light dinner and drinks on a Friday night. Definitely gets busy so a reservation is recommended. Really nice atmosphere to catch up with a friend or to go on a date due to the dim lighting, candles, etc. It’s beautiful. I’m not a fan of stool seating without backs, and it was a little warm inside. There is also seating at the bar and some couch seating. Other than that, no complaints. The staff was really nice and helped us choose wine and cheese pairings. The heirloom beet salad, shrimp skewer, and cauliflower dishes were delicious and flavorful, as were the wine, cheese, and bread. -
Review 17 (2023-05-23 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful experience here. This place has a natural wine option. -
Review 18 (2024-04-14 - Rating: 5)

Review 19 (2024-11-09 - Rating: 5)
Amazing Service! A++The staff is so friendly and accommodating! You can really see the team mentality they have as they greet you, place orders, expedite, and check in on your experience! We will continue to come back to this wine bar. Cozy (yet social), excellent menu, and the fresh baked cookies are PERFECTION! -

Great place for a glass and a snack. Food was great and the atmosphere was superb. -
Review 23 (2021-08-22 - Rating: 5)
First time here, was extremely impressed with an excellent bottle list at extremely reasonable prices. I think this is the only time out in NYC Ive seen a barbaresco on the menu for $70. And it was great. The wines by the glass were good, but i dont think i was able to pick one that was in my typical wheelhouse, so i didnt enjoy it as much. The ice cream sandwiches were amazing. They must have been homemade. -
Review 24 (2024-11-10 - Rating: 5)
I love this place. My favorite quiet bar in NYC to bring friends/family or just a date with the Mrs. -
Review 25 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 4)

Review 26 (2021-03-26 - Rating: 5)
Love this little wine bar. The ambience is so nice, they have a wonderful selection of wines, and their cheese board is delicious (albeit the portion is very small!). It’s in a quiet little spot with great views—it’s the perfect place for dates and for hanging out with a small group of friends. -
Review 27 (2019-02-18 - Rating: 4)
Excellent quiet and cozy wine bar. I love its far from touristy Broadway, but still in Mid-town West. I found great quality, service, and friendly staff. Their menu is not very assorted, but their wine list is. Great place for a chat with friends on a lazy Sunday afternoon. -
Review 28 (2021-01-13 - Rating: 5)
Great food, excellent wine selection and Amazing Service! A must to visit. 👍 -
Review 29 (2018-08-10 - Rating: 5)
This place continues to be one of my favorite spots in New York to meet friends and have a few drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed, but not so quiet that it isnt fun. Likewise, it never seems overcrowded, even when it is full, and the crowd is usually a nice diverse mix with all different ages and types. The staff here are super friendly and very attentive. Many of them have been here for years, and its always nice to see familiar faces when I come back. This is not only a place that I always recommend when friends come from out of town to visit New York, but its also a place that I love to bring my local friends to as well. One last thing. Try the pretzels! They are amazing, and know my pretzels!! They bake them fresh in their kitchen. -
Review 30 (2023-11-11 - Rating: 4)
Lovely atmosphere, kind and friendly people. I recommend it. -
Review 31 (2022-04-04 - Rating: 5)
Nice place! Good place to go if youre looking to hang out with friends over wine and a light meal. Not a restaurant style structure, so youre not rushed. Good atmosphere and our waitress was great. -
Review 32 (2020-01-15 - Rating: 5)
Have celebrated 2x birthdays here and recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood! Awesome staff and really great wine selection. The side lounge is also the perfect place to catch up with friends in a more intimate setting. -

Review 35 (2020-11-11 - Rating: 5)
Love, love, love this place. Its just down the street from my friends house and the weather was gorgeous out. We stopped by for dinner. The staff was amazing. The service was great. The menu is not super extensive, but all of the food was delicious. Its really a great spot...good for dates. -
Review 36 (2024-11-01 - Rating: 5)
Perfectly executed cocktails, tasty and well-portioned tapas and a very well curated wine list! Strongly recommend for date nights, a Friday end of week celebration or bringing out of towners. -
Review 37 (2023-08-13 - Rating: 5)
One of the best parts of NYC. Update: Over a decade later still the best wine bar in the city. Update 2: new menu items! Dont miss the carrots and tomato salad. Old standards are still fantastic like the steak and pretzels. -
Review 38 (2024-03-25 - Rating: 5)
This was a very nice intimate place. They have a pretty good selection of drinks and wines and an ok menu. -
Review 39 (2019-08-31 - Rating: 4)
Well stocked little wine bar with outdoor seating, high top seating, and cozy lounge tables too. The wine list was inventive and extensive and the bites were varied and good. Service was attentive even during a busy happy hour weeknight. -
Review 40 (2016-09-16 - Rating: 5)
The outdoor seating is surprisingly quiet, not much traffic or other neighborhood noises. There is not much food selection, small bites mostly, but its all good. Some interesting cocktails, great wine by the glass. A go to kind of place. -
Review 41 (2022-05-13 - Rating: 4)
Nice neighborhood spot. Food was ok. Burrata was very good. -
Review 42 (2019-12-14 - Rating: 5)
We had such a nice time here! We were looking for a place where we could sit down, have a drink and a few appetizers, and this absolutely fit the bill. The food was fantastic, the staff polite and helpful, and our drinks were tasty. The ricotta crostini were AMAZING! We also had the homemade NY style pretzels, and the portobello fries, both of which were very good. The ambiance was cozy and the lights were low with candles on the tables. My only warning is that the seating is all stools, so be prepared to sit on your coat, and hold your purse. Its definitely not going to stop me from going back if we are in the area, I just may arrive a little more prepared! -
Review 43 (2021-05-21 - Rating: 5)
Been here twice and really had a good time in both occasions. Like the chic vibe, tasty food, and wide selection of wine. I recall there weren’t too many tables though so be on the lookout for some wait time if visiting during peak hours. -

Review 56 (2013-09-25 - Rating: 5)
There is something to be said for a beautifully relaxed space serving up affordable snacks and beverages. This was the spot for us on a cool yet comfortable fall weeknight. I was in need of a long, overdue chat sesh with a girlfriend and this was perfect. The wine by the glass selection was extensive and their food sounded all very tempting. Plus, without a wait we were immediately sitting outside and enjoying the catch up convo. After what seemed like hours of chatting, two rounds of drinks, and snacks – we were over the moon with this place. I especially loved how everyone around us that night were in the same mellow mode. It was refreshing not having any distractions while we were there. I can’t wait to make my way back to this place. -
Review 57 (2022-01-08 - Rating: 5)

My wife and I were there last evening. An excellent wine bar at reasonable prices. Varied and tasty appetizers. The staff, and in particular our server, were very attentive and friendly. The place was full and lively, but not too noisy. I was not charged for the draft beer as in their opinion there was a bit of a delay due to a technical issue, and that impressed me. -

Review 76 (2024-02-25 - Rating: 4)
Just had drinks at 5pm on a Saturday. The shifts were changing so the service was a little haphazard, but friendly. The cocktails are well made but designed for dessert drinker. The wine was well curated and about $16 per glass. The atmosphere has a distinctly hotel bar feel but its attractive and modern. -

Review 82 (2024-02-05 - Rating: 5)
The wine selection had options that were new to me and staff who gave great explanations and recommendations. We had an excellent cheese/meat board, also thanks to suggestions from our waiter. We were seated in the lounge/side room (not the bar room) which had low velvet benches or stools, so be aware if you have limited mobility/trouble getting up from low chairs. -

We visited Ardesia before a Broadway show and are very glad we did. It is a great pre-theater choice as it is a relatively quick walk to Broadway but far enough from the theater crowds for a quiet and intimate pre-show meal. The extensive by-the-glass wine list was thoughtfully composed and we enjoyed every selection we made, including interesting finds from Hungary and Slovenia. We ordered food as we went and were also very pleased with what we tried. The ambiance is cozy and inviting and the staff are extremely friendly. -

Review 114 (2023-01-04 - Rating: 5)
We came up from Philly on 12/30 for a brief dining and drinks visit and Ardesia wasn’t planned but seemed to be fate! Our WONDERFUL waitress, Francesca, came in the clutch! She expertly detected our Philly accents (hahhh) and In all honesty we landed at Ardesia because we were denied around the corner at Sessamo. We had to push back our reservation around the corner at 10pm and by that time their kitchen was closing. An awesome middle aged local came to our aide walking by us at Seasamo and said, “You guys should walk around the corner to Ardesia. They have great wine, small plates and cocktails and their kitchen closes around 11.We were greeted immediately and the music, ambience and food/drink were exactly what we were looking for. Our kind hostess sat us at one of the two remaining two tops and our super sweet, professional and efficient waitress, Francesca, took excellent care of us. She told the kitchen we were famished and they worked greatly in accommodating us with several small plates and drinks.Ardesia owners and team - keep doing what you’re doing and I strongly believe you’ll strive for many years to come in this location. It was such a fun and pleasant experience all around. Thank you! Be back! -

So happy I found this place. -
Review 116 (2021-08-07 - Rating: 5)
Visited on a warm night and sat outside, luckily they have a great selection of light and chilled wines (the Portuguese were our favorite) that complement their artfully designed cheese & charcuterie selection. Later on when the temps cooled off, switched to some of the medium-to-full bodied reds and their heartier plates (lamb with mint sauce was a bit). Our waiter, Jordan, was excellent at suggesting which wines paired best with each course and was kind enough to provide his favorites. We’ll definitely be back! -

Visited on a Monday night. Indoor seating. Service was fantastic with the server striking the perfect balance of being attentive but also not hovering. Menu is small but all the dishes we ordered were delicious, especially the smoked bluefish dip and also the chorizo croquettes. The wines by the glass also had some unique and differing selections. All in all, a very pleasant, relaxed and enjoyable experience. -

Wine selection is very nice and well priced for the area. Pork sliders are to die for. Ambiance is nice and the hostess and waiters were very kind to us out of Towners. A great off the path spot to grab some wine and a small meal before a show! -

This is a neat, hidden spot for a casual night out for a glass of wine and small bites. We discovered this place on a whim and have returned several times since. We have never had to wait for a table (have sat at both the bar and at tables)- service was great and they seem to have unique wines to drink. Prices are as expected for a wine bar... love the intimate feeling this place gives off. -
