Great Spanish tapas with tasty food and nice vibe! All the food we tried was good. Portion of each dish is not too big and we were able to try four dish. Our waiter was very nice as well. Would love to come back again and try other dish! -

So good! The Sangre de Toro is delish. The service is great. The patatas bravas are tasty, but a bit overpriced. The steak was good. The beet salad was delicious and the croquetas de queso de cabra with strawberries… my God!!! -
Review 3 (2017-06-26 - Rating: 5)
Great tapas place on an UWS side street. Service is very good. Tapas were without exception delicious! They also have a nice selection of wines that match up with the variety of food nicely. Definitely a place to revisit more than once. -
Review 4 (2022-02-24 - Rating: 5)
One of my fave spots on the UWS.The wine and the tapas are plentiful and scrumptious.Whether you pop in once a week or once a year, you are always made to feel like a regular. ♥️ -

Came here on a Tuesday for dinner with my mother who used to live in Sevilla. Mom was very satisfied. 😀 Highly recommend the gambas al ajillo, enjoyed the lamb bocadillo as well. Also pictured are the croquettes bacalao (codfish) which were a bit salty for me but my mother loved. Not pictured because we were too hungry but recommended: the goat cheese croquettes and the asparagus. Lots of great vegetarian and pescatarian options. Owner and staff were very friendly. I also got a hot toddy and my mother enjoyed a white wine.We were content with the outside heat lamps on a cold day during the pandemic. Plenty of outside seating not too close together. Although it was a weeknight, they had several tables seated. -

Important! This review is only based on a single visit.Food- Interesting, fun dishes. My only gripe is that most of them needed salt. I NEVER add salt, but I had to ask the server for some. I feel like if everything was properly salted, it would’ve been much more enjoyable. I think the mussels was the only dish properly seasoned. Also, with all the exciting and unique items on the menu, serving plain white bread with plain olive oil, seems out of place. Perhaps a little something more fun?Service- Our server was timely and friendly, however the order the food came out didn’t make sense. I know it’s tapas, but I appreciate having it come out in order from lighter tasting/mild dishes to heavier/spicier dishes.Atmosphere- Quaint and cozy. A little too cozy though. Cramped when it fills up, but I’m used to that in manhattan restaurants.Overall- Definitely has potential. A bit of salt could go a long way and have more of a system to the order of dishes. Maybe I caught them on an off night? Perhaps. I might try them again since I’d like to get a few other things on the menu. -

We usually grab take out. The duck breast is INCREDIBLE!! the vibe is cool and the staff for the most part is really friendly and helpful. Havent eaten there for a LONG time, but just started going back and I am so glad I did. -

My new favorite (by far) on the upper west side. Everything about it is great: ambiance to food 10/10 -
Review 9 (2022-11-25 - Rating: 5)
It is open late, staff is friendly and did not rush us even though it was near midnight. I loved the seafood paella, and the peppers with cheese, fennel salad and spicy margheritas. Plenty of space and a warm atmosphere. I will definitely return to try more of the menu -
Review 10 (2024-04-10 - Rating: 4)

Review 11 (2024-02-27 - Rating: 4)

Review 13 (2022-05-24 - Rating: 4)
Delish! Small plates so would recommend sharing. We got the brussel sprouts which were fabulous. They brought us out the wrong order first but fixed it pretty quickly. Good margaritas + sangria too. -
Review 14 (2023-10-14 - Rating: 5)
I am paranoid about covid so I dont go out much. But Buceo checked all the boxes. Like water carafe was left at the table so server does not keep coming near us. I love Spanish wine, Buceo has plenty on the list. With outdoor dining in winter steaming hot food is rare , and every dish we ordered was delicious and hot. Highly recommend bacon wrapped dates. Service was excellent. I am definitely going back. And yes it is heated outdoor dining. Just one note if you don’t like salty food request less cheese and salt both. I eat extremely low salt food but with bread I found it okay.I went back again last night which rarely happens, but this time I was invited to this restaurant by our friends, and I was not disappointed. We had tapa before the show.Scallops, patatas bravas, patatas fritas, Croquetas (Chicken and cod fish), Pulpo de Buceo,Tortilla Española ,Berenjena and white wine. Food quality and choice for tapa so good and delicious . Service so dood. And so close to where we live.Highly recommend this place. -
Review 15 (2018-09-05 - Rating: 4)
Good food at a place with great atmosphere and food. The Garlic Shrimp are very good, and the prices for a tapas restaurant are mostly affordable. Biggest complaint is regarding the sangria, which they thicken (so if youre not a fan of thicker sangria, dont order it). Outside seating was nice, but the angle of the road/sidewalk makes things odd. -
Review 16 (2019-01-26 - Rating: 5)
Despite the tight space this was a wonderful dining experience. The selection of vegetarian, seafood and meat tapas was extensive. We especially enjoyed the Churrasco, grilled asparagus with a pomegranate aioli, and the bacalao croquettes. A small pitcher of sangria was the perfect size for the 2 of us, providing about 3 glassfuls. The service was very good, even on a busy Friday night. The sound level was not an issue at all. We highly recommend trying it out. We will be returning. -
Review 17 (2023-01-21 - Rating: 5)

Phenomenal place! I haven’t been here in a number of years, and was so happy to have another date. Food was delicious as well as the wine. Nathan and the helpful staff got us all situated, now that I have some mobility issues. We can’t wait to return again and become devoted regulars. ❤️ -
Review 19 (2023-07-31 - Rating: 5)
Excellent food, wine, and service. Such a cozy atmosphere. This restaurant is now on my list of favorites to return to on my visits to the city. -
Review 20 (2018-05-28 - Rating: 5)
One of our favorite Tapas places in the city. We always hear there is going to be a line, but somehow our little outside corner table in the back always opens up without a wait. The dishes are excellent and genuine. Last time I ordered Paella which was outstanding - better than we had in Spain. -
Review 21 (2024-04-16 - Rating: 5)
Had the patatas fritas and the fideos con jabali (noodles with boar). Both were tasty and satisfying. Service is friendly and attentive. Wine prices are reasonable. -
Review 22 (2016-07-15 - Rating: 5)
Best tapas in the city. The manager is super friendly, one time they left us without menus for a few minutes and when he realized he brought us free champagne and a free dish. Excellent food with great choices and Im always satisfied. Really good Rosé sangria. -
Review 23 (2013-12-06 - Rating: 5)
This is a neighborhood gem! The service is impeccable, the best ambiance, and delicious wine selection. They serve only tapas, so its a great place for an intimate dinner with friends or with significant other. My hubs and I come here for a glass of wine at the bar and we always end up meeting other friendly people in the UWS with the most interesting backgrounds. Every time I come here I end up staying for hours just chatting, drinking good cava or wine, and noshing on a small plate. -
Review 24 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 5)
The bartender was super nice and great, thank you! -
Review 25 (2018-02-12 - Rating: 5)

Review 26 (2023-01-27 - Rating: 5)
Wonderful food, nice ambiance, and friendly and knowledgeable hosts, bartenders, wait people, sommeliers, etc. One of the top reasons I never travel more than 3 blocks to dine out (just kidding - sort of!) -

Restaurants like Buceo 95 make you fall in love with NY! Its an excellent neighborhood restaurant with consistently great food and friendly service. Its a perfect spot for a small-group dinner or romantic date. Ive been there enough times to try practically all the dishes and you cannot really go wrong with any of them. -
Review 29 (2023-03-26 - Rating: 4)
Good neighborhood spot for sangria and snacks; the croquettas were small and sweet, decent sangria and lots of wines. Their tortilla is light and soufflé in density. -
Review 30 (2023-09-03 - Rating: 5)
Amazing food and service, atmosphere was very nice. patatas bravas were excellent as well as the skirt steak. -
Review 31 (2022-08-21 - Rating: 5)

Review 32 (2017-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Great place for dinner and a couple of drinks, especially if solo. Its usually possible to get a spot at the bar, where youll likely find the staff and locals to be friendly and chatty. Did I mention that the food, drinks and staff are all excellent? -
Review 33 (2016-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Great place, lively atmosphere and very intimate. Wine selection is A1 and the staff is extremely friendly. Great place to talk to people and the food is out of this world!!! Goat cheese croquettes ftw!! -
Review 34 (2024-08-03 - Rating: 5)
This is my favorite neighborhood spot. Cozy wine bar offering delicious wines and good food served by a friendly staff. -
Review 35 (2021-05-20 - Rating: 5)
Buceo 95 is the best there is for Spanish Tapas. To start, the atmosphere is simply the best and the service is terrific. Everyone knows tomate con pan is the signature starter for Spain, but Buceo takes it to the next level and adds jamon to it. It is perfection. The next tapas we sampled were: bacon wrapped dates, and tortilla española (omg delish), and we didn’t have the patatas baravas(this time), but the same garlic aioli was used in the Totillas, and it was very tasty. Next, we split the Churrasco, grilled skirt steak. It was perfectly grilled to our liking, seasoning was amazing. I loved everything I ate and drank (red sangria pitcher!!!!), but the skirt steak was the best. Finally, we were able to enjoy the churros for desert. The entire staff was so nice and helpful throughout our dinner. This is our favorite tapas venue in NYC. -
Review 36 (2012-09-15 - Rating: 4)
Buceo 95, the tapas edition to the Dive family of bars, is a neighborhood gem worth a multi-neighborhood trek and frankly serves some of the best tapas in the city. The only letdown here tends to be the speed of the service, and its evident that one more waiter would be ideal, if only the little room could accommodate another soul without coming to a standstill. Never fear though: just catch manager Johnnies eye (and forgive me if he spells it with a y) and hell drop by to fill the gap and offer the best wine advice north of 65th Street. (Save room for sherry.) -
Review 37 (2018-07-21 - Rating: 4)
Delicious food but a little small on the portions! Lovely sidewalk dining with great service! Would definitely go back if Im back in the upper west side -

Review 47 (2024-04-27 - Rating: 4)
Service was very attentive. The restaurant would need more light, there were several of us using the cell to see the menu. Food was very well presented and I would call it 50% Spaniard, the rest has been American adapted. Would go again. -
Review 48 (2018-02-25 - Rating: 5)
Buceo 95 is always busy, but very ambient with excellent food. Janey tended to us and was friendly and knowledgeable with just the right degree of attentiveness. -
Review 49 (2018-07-28 - Rating: 4)
Dropped in with 4 others (3 of us had just finished s run-no problem) seated immediately in busy restaurant, hit or miss with dishes, not a great place for vegans but waitress very attentive. -

Weve been here before for a wedding party. This time we were here as regular patrons.I get it, its a tapas bar and its NYC, and the food tastes amazing. But, despite this reviewers use of caps, the dishes here are TINY!The calamari are basically 5 small pcs of calamari. The cheese cauliflower was child size.Still recommend visiting for the food, but dont expect to fill up without breaking the bank. -

I have enjoyed this place every time I have gone. The servers are welcoming and will happily explain different menu items. Everything I have had is delicious, but I have particularly enjoyed the grilled octopus.I am so very sorry to see reviewers giving this place an undeserved low rating because they dislike the president. -

The best tapas place I’ve been to in New York City. I came here with a group from work and we enjoyed the environment and ease of continually ordering until we were full. I loved the shrimp, lamb, meat and cheese, octopus, asparagus - and my favorite was the bacon wrapped dates. If you’re looking for tapas this is the place. -
Review 82 (2022-01-15 - Rating: 4)
Not bad tapas place for the neighborhood. There are much better tapas places in the city. If you’re in the mood for tapas and don’t want to leave the neighborhood, the this is your place. Decent wine selection. None of the food really stood out to even mention though. But good out door seating, and service is good. -

Nice wine selection, great flan, wonderful seasonal dishes that change. Great for sharing and tasting as many things as possible. -

They didnt charge us the appetizers one, which was really nice. They have a really big wine menu, but I didnt try any of them. The staff was nice, and the place itself was nice but a bit crowded. -

Review 96 (2022-08-13 - Rating: 5)
I visit the upper west side quite often, but have never been to this place until now. Very happy coincidence. I am a fan of Spanish tapas, and these are probably some of the best in the city. The selection of both tapas and drinks, as well as classic Spanish entrees is phenomenal. Simple, great ingredients, and to the point, the way Spanish food should be. I ordered the goat cheese croquetas, mixed olives, grilled artichokes, patatas bravas, and the scallops, paired with an iced authentic alhambra rioja beer. Just what I needed after a long day at work. Ambiance and service were great too, which is rare now in post-pandemic NYC. Definitely will be a new hangout for me. -

Great tapas and wine. Our server was a young lady that had great attitude. The manager was also very nice and friendly. Food tasted very good but the lortions are small like Tapas normally are. If you are very hungry the tapas bill adds up fast. -

Review 109 (2020-03-30 - Rating: 4)
I came here for dinner. They have a really good wine list and they made good recommendations for our wine choices when we told them our flavor profile. The tapas was really good too I would highly recommend the scallops and the carne Asada. We also tried the bacon wrapped dates but those left me a little cold. The space is smaller but they have some outdoor seating which is on the pavement, and its got a cute look and looks authentic for a tapas bar. Bathrooms are clean and the wait staff is really good. They are busy, one can tell but they made sure our table was bussed and managed, even brought us fresh bread. -

My wife and I eat out a lot, and have been to many top rated restaurants in NYC. This is in our top 5 for New York. Incredible menu, always rotatng. Great wine list, casual-higher end feel. Good drinks, amazing food...If your considering coming here, dont hesitate! -

I dont want to give a good review of this place because itll be more crowded and then I cant walk in and just get a table. But were moving out of town, so I have to mention it: one of the best restaurants on the UWS. Always has a crowd even on midweek nights. Proprietor works there every night and is super friendly. And the food, oh man - have never had something less than expertly made. The goat cheese croquettes could turn my wife into a shopping cart pusher. Its definitely an adventurous menu, but really good tapas is hard to find, and other than Ella Kitchen at 71st and Columbus, this is the only really good one on the UWS . -

This place is a gem. My wife disagrees, but I think it got *slightly* worse since they changed chefs, but thats personal. Either way, its a neighborhood gem on the UWS. While the wine selection is good, you MUST have the Spicy Margarita: heavy on the cayenne pepper (just as we like it), itll clear your sinuses then get you with a perfect lime/tequila finish. The dishes are, well, tapas, so theyre perfect for sharing two or three. The paella is the heaviest, and youll want to share that between two with maybe 2-3 other dishes (were fans of the duck with pear, and the blistered peppers). When the check comes, you will be pleasantly surprised by price. For my wife and I, paella, two cocktails, and two other dishes usually comes out to about $100 with tax and tip, and we feel very satisfied and sated. -

The food is so good... but the wine prices have gotten out of hand. Wine used to be $20-40 per bottle. Now its $40-70!!! -

Cant say enough good about this place. Ive probably had at least 50 different tapas here, although i do tend to be unable to give up long-time favorites. The staff across the board is friendly and super-competent; the wines are well-chosen for variety and distinctiveness; and the menu always introduces new dishes while holding on to many crowd-demanded favorites. In its modest way, one of the very best restaurants on the UWS, and well worth being considered a destination place for those outside the neighborhood. -

Buzzy neighborhood tapas place, hidden away on 95th Street. High tabes and stools placed close together. Wide selection of interesting tapas, including some great veg options. Good selection of wines x the glass, mostly Spanish, plus sherries etc. -

Great tapas and good atmosphere. Tip: its better to buy a bottle of wine than by the glass. -

Visited Buceo 95 last night in search of some good tapas on the UWS – was warmly greeted upon entry and was seated almost immediately, was pleasantly surprised since the restaurant was nearly at capacity. The wine list is long enough to accommodate anyone but, not too long as to discourage you from searching for the perfect wine and there were excellent drink options, also. We ordered a pitcher of sangria – the flavor was excellent but, had a bit of viscosity to it that made it a little less enjoyable. Our food order: Pan con Tomate (tomato spread on garlic bread), Alcachofas (grilled artichokes), Esparragos a la Plancha (grilled Asparagus), Pulpo de Buceo (grilled baby octopus) and a nightly special Bacon wrapped Scallops. The food was fantastic I would recommend everything that we had, everything was cooked to perfection – loved it. The only draw back to this location is the acoustics in the restaurant itself, went on a Tuesday night at 9pm and the restaurant was packed and very loud making it quite difficult to hold a conversation. Regardless, I will definitely be going back. -

This is a great spot. Been here twice...for brunch and dinner. On the first visit I had the duck confit...delicious! The only reason they dont get 5 stars is because I had to wait nearly an hour for it. But it was a quiet time and no big deal. Came back this evening and had traditional stuff (tortilla, gambas ajillo) and found the food, service and atmosphere to be spot on. Its as good as any quality tapas bar in Madrid or Barcelona :) -

Very popular tapas restaurant in the Upper West Side. The staff was very nice and friendly. The tapas my wife and I tried were generally good although a bit overpriced. The place was quite loud and packed when we went. The atmosphere was cozy and dim.Of the dishes we tried...the Patatas Freitas I ordered was probably the most disappointing.....it literally was $6 potato chips....I guess I was expecting more there. The Coliflor a la Brasa was delicious and highly recommended. Overall, I recommend coming and trying this restaurant out for yourself. -

I had a nice dinner outside last night with my wife. This place has a surprisingly large selection of vegetarian tapas (about 15 options, or about half the menu). Here are the dishes we ordered, best first: Ensalada Matrimonio (kale salad), Piquillos Rellenos (small cheese stuffed peppers), Tortilla Española, Coles de Bruselas (roasted brussel sprouts), and Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce). I never thought a kale salad could be so good. Gambas al Ajillo is my wifes favorite Spanish dish and it was the only disappointment of the night. If she had liked it, this place would have earned a five star rating. If/when we go back, Id happily re-order the kale salad, stuffed peppers, and the tortilla española. The sangria was also very good. The service was prompt, with the exception of waiting about 10 minutes to get the check. This is NYC, people have places to be. -
