The popular ravioli dish is much smaller than it looks in the photos. Almost comically so. But it’s tasty. The Niçoise salad was great along with everything else we had! Service was fantastic and staff were nice and attentive. No complaints!

  • Review 2 (2024-12-12 - Rating: 5)

Amazing vibe! All the Christmas decor just added up to the atmosphere. Service was great as well as all dishes that we ordered including steak, artichoke and shrimp cocktail. We couldn’t resist ordering a dessert. Super yummy

  • Review 3 (2024-08-06 - Rating: 4)

Located in the iconic Chelsea Hotel, we had brunch on a trip into Manhattan. Although it was a great setting and the staff were very attentive, I was slightly disappointed with the food. The salmon was fresh and tasty but the sourdough bread toast was hard, in some places too hard to eat. Saying that, Im glad we went because of the history of the place.

  • Review 4 (2024-03-15 - Rating: 5)

I got here early bc there were no reservations for my party size. Thankfully, they were able accommodate us! So kind of them as the place was getting very packed for dinner service. Absolutely loved everything we ordered there! No complaints and I can’t find fault with anything. Loved their vesper drink, croquettes, panisse, ravioli, mushroom maitake with pepper sauce, burger and chocolate soufflé. The panisse texture was amazing with ground chickpea that was like fried hummus bites, the croquettes were stuffed with goat cheese and drizzled with honey, the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The burger sauce was amazing and just rich enough with flavor (we had that on the side). The chocolate soufflé was spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg that was beautifully executed. Highly recommend! The space is gorgeous as well. Gets very busy so suggest making a res a couple weeks ahead of time.

  • Review 5 (2024-06-23 - Rating: 5)

Food is definitely just OK and a bit overrated, with the exception of the soufflé — we also enjoyed the goat cheese balls. But the staff and the vibe and the crowd make it so worth it! Very quintessentially NYC. I would go again.

  • Review 6 (2024-06-03 - Rating: 5)

Made a reservation for early dinner on the patio and felt that was definitely the move. Food was overall impressive, especially their steak frites which I didn’t expect to be so good. Endive salad is a sleeper hit also. Soufflé is good and just a fun treat to have. Overall great spot to hang out!

  • Review 7 (2024-07-15 - Rating: 5)

Absolute patio perfection on the streets of New York! I was only there to sample the selection and by chance I happened to stop by on their one year anniversary and was treated with a lovely glass of complimentary brut rosé champagne (which was some of the best i’ve ever had - meaning their actual for-purchase options are probably even better)! The cocktails were twists on the classics - but their simplicity in both taste and presentation was where they stood out! Perfectly balanced and beautifully served. I had the Klein Blue and highly recommend! For food, I ordered the raviole de dauphine, which I finished in under 5 minutes easy, despite claiming I wasn’t hungry! I also had the croquettes, which were lovely as long as you like goat cheese! Don’t let the small portion size fool you - the quality of ingredients and balanced nutrition means you will be comfortably full by the end of each course. I hope to be back to try the actual entrees very soon!As with any place, service is often the most crucial part and my server, Jordyn, was easily the highlight of the visit! I know a single diner during the height of a dinner shift isn’t always ideal, but they made me feel not only welcomed, but appreciated! Many thanks to Jordyn for the lovely, personalized service and for answering my many questions!

  • Review 8 (2023-10-23 - Rating: 5)

By far the best dining experience I’ve had in NYC! Me and 7 other friends tried almost everything on the menu (some are pictured), and everything was DELICIOUS! I seriously can’t pick a favorite. The croquettes were outstanding, the ravioli was amazing, the maitaki mushroom was so good, the steak was spectacular, and the soufflé was simply other worldly. You can’t go wrong no matter what you order!! Atmosphere was noisy but classy. Service was great and attentive. Chef Derek knows what he’s doing!!

  • Review 9 (2024-10-07 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful restaurant inside of iconic hotel with outdoor patio. Friendly and welcoming. Delicious food, good service and great vibe.

  • Review 10 (2024-02-04 - Rating: 5)

Always love Cafe Chelsea! The food and service were incredible as always. Despite the busy night they let us sit a little longer (on our 5th cocktail!) before the next reservation arrived. Highly recommend for dates, group nights, or even just a wonderful cocktail at the bar.

  • Review 11 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 5)

Such a lovely restaunt located right inside the Chelsea hotel. Now I must admit what drew me there was the viral ravioli but I came too early [only served at dinner ] ! However I stayed for the amazing hospitality!I had an amazing gin cocktail and the limone spaghetti which was so delicious I didn’t even care it wasn’t the ravioli! Also had a complimentary side of toast with it which was amazing… even for toast

  • Review 12 (2024-04-14 - Rating: 4)

The atmosphere is great and the service was great. The portion sizes are small and pricey. The Benedict doesnt come with anything like roasted potatoes or fries . The French toast was delicious.

  • Review 13 (2023-11-02 - Rating: 4)

I see that most of these negative reviews are for dinner service & we did peek in during a busy brunch service over the weekend to see how insanely crowded it was.. we didnt attempt to get a table then.We enjoyed a lovely lunch on a Tuesday afternoon with absolutely no fuss as we arrived before the lunch crowd started filling up. Cozy and very pleasant atmosphere, bold colors and tiling, rich wood and brass accents. Good windows and walls of mirrors to reflect warm light.Solid cocktails, not absurdly priced. Tasty endive salad and smoked salmon. Steak frites were steak frites, you know what to expect. Huge portion of coffee per person, not complaining.Grateful they have such extensive hours! I am looking forward to coming by for breakfast/coffee soon.

  • Review 14 (2024-03-16 - Rating: 4)

Visited Chelsea Cafe to see what the hype was all about, and it didn’t disappoint! Though the place was crowded and our reservation was delayed by 30 minutes, it was worth the wait. The ambiance is genuinely French and inviting, contributing to a unique dining experience. The food was fantastic – every bite was a delight, and the service was impeccable. Besides the wait, there’s absolutely nothing to complain about.

  • Review 15 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)

Had a spectacular experience at Chelsea Cafe! The food was delicious and would highly recommend for any guests. The Rillettes de Saumon and Croquettes were great small plates!! Service and Atmosphere was lovely as well.

  • Review 16 (2024-03-04 - Rating: 5)

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Chelsea Cafe! The ambiance exudes elegance and sophistication, setting the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The food was simply exquisite, with each dish showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs. The chicken dish, in particular, was a standout for me - tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal was truly commendable. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every need was met promptly and courteously. Overall, Chelsea Cafe exceeded my expectations, and I cannot wait to return for another culinary adventure. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a taste of Parisian charm in the heart of NYC!

  • Review 17 (2024-12-02 - Rating: 5)

Food was fantastic, the atmosphere was very warm, inviting and cozy and our waiter Nick was amazing. He gave the best suggestions and was so kind, funny and helpful. Would definitely come back!

  • Review 18 (2024-11-08 - Rating: 4)

Loved the design of the restaurant. As others have mentioned, the tables are quite close to each other. Ordered chickpea fries, steak tartare, ravioli, dessert. The fries were ok - very herb forward. The ravioli was good, but for all the fanfare around it, expected better. The steak tartare was nice. Loved the dessert! Probably the best thing I ate there - get the Rocher ice cream.

  • Review 19 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 4)

The best endroit in Chelsea for breakfast. Worth coming in for the interiors alone, which can transport one to a more civilized time. The staff was attentive at the start but after 9:00 a.m. the original servers were replaced and we were royally ignored by the substitutes, from then on.The Norwegian eggs were almost cold and the idea of returning them after such a long wait was too daunting. On the plus side the seats were comfortable and we were not rushed.

  • Review 20 (2024-12-26 - Rating: 5)

It was a great experience, we liked the vibe.

  • Review 21 (2024-10-12 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful place, food was amazing! Loved the viral ravioliHidden gem: goat cheese croquettes

  • Review 22 (2024-12-12 - Rating: 5)

Only got to take 1 picture because everything was just so delicious and I was with great company that I forgot to even take a picture of each and every thing! Such a beautiful and cozy place to hang out and eat. The steak tartare was exquisite along with the drinks and the desert! Of course it wasn’t cheap but the pricing wasn’t as bad as I thought. You’re really paying for the ambiance of course but the food is really up to par! The staff were friendly and attentive along with the food coming out quickly. I have been a few times before (and didn’t take pictures) and each time is better than the last. Definitely will be back.

  • Review 23 (2024-08-19 - Rating: 5)

I took off one star because the coffee was not good. I came in from NJ to have a pairOf Prada shoes repaired. I had an hour to kill while they were being repaired across the street at the Shoe Spa. I said why no pop in for a little brunch. The ambiance was a little intimidating especially when I realized they took me the roundabout long way to my seat. Before the lady would seat me in a sparsely not full restaurant, she asked for my phone number. (?) Not my type. The service was good until it wasnt. The restrooms are beautiful. The bacon was the highlight of my meal. The coffee was burned and bitter. Nevertheless, I left a 20% tip. The Bloody Mary was OUT OF THIS World! The sourdough toast was yummy and crisp. I felt pampered and although I had some rude table neighbors — nothing was going to ruin my self-care date at this fabulous “cafe” that screamed old-world fancy.

  • Review 24 (2024-06-26 - Rating: 5)

Excellent in every respect. Coffee drinks, fresh squeezed lemonade for kids, food outstanding, service attentive but not annoying. Great atmosphere, cool look. We ate a lot of touristy food during our visit and needed something fresh and healthyish and Cafe Chelsea delivered. Would absolutely go again with any type of group.

  • Review 25 (2024-10-15 - Rating: 4)

Next to a Patti Smith icon, the Cafe Chelsea is a beautiful location for brunch or evening drinks and everything in between. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful and the food was delicious.

  • Review 26 (2024-07-31 - Rating: 5)

Love it!! Great coffee, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Totally recommend!

  • Review 27 (2024-08-18 - Rating: 5)

A really nice brunch experience with European bistro/brasserie vibes. Having individual coffee pots was unexpected and such a cute idea!

  • Review 28 (2023-12-12 - Rating: 5)

All around great experience and amazing atmosphere. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. The burger was amazing and the steak tartare was perfect. Next time I’m going for the ravioli and soufflé.

  • Review 30 (2024-02-04 - Rating: 4)

This review is for the steak frites only. Wow! On the top of the list of steak frites I’ve had. Granted, it wasn’t cooked medium like I asked but still delicious. Maybe some of the best fries I’ve ever had as well however albeit too expensive.

  • Review 31 (2024-07-20 - Rating: 5)

Impeccable service (shoutout Diego). He even brought us complimentary chocolate ice cream for my girlfriend’s birthday!! Spectacular and food was delightful as well (Chelsea Salad and Eggs Benedict were great).

  • Review 33 (2024-02-19 - Rating: 5)

I had the maitaki au poivre. One of the best steaks Ive ever had! Our server was attentive and gave a great recommendation for wine. The chocolate souffle was a revelation, with crisp edges and a velvety center. I would highly recommend Cafe Chelsea for anyone visiting NYC.

  • Review 34 (2024-04-17 - Rating: 5)

I recommend the Chelsea Saled with seared tuna. Lots of tasty greens and delicious fresh tuna!

  • Review 35 (2024-07-06 - Rating: 5)

Our manager Nickolai, and our server Thomas were fantastic. Our experience was like having a dinner in Paris.. our manager Nickolai stepped In as Sommelier and he suggested a very good wine and Thomas was right behind in explaining our food options.. the whole experience was very personal and positive and the food was excellent.

  • Review 36 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 5)

Definitely recommend this place. Great place for wine lovers. The food is amazing with unique flavors. Everyone is very polite and helpful.

  • Review 38 (2024-09-03 - Rating: 5)

Café Chelsea is such a lovely spot!! I popped-in for the first time this weekend to sit at the bar and have a drink with my boyfriend. We had the best experience! We walked through the entrance of The Hotel Chelsea to access the restaurant, which offered a really cool first impression. On that note: the entrance + lobby of this hotel are so stunning. In terms of our experience inside Café Chelsea, Claire took incredible care of us at the bar and the atmosphere inside of this place is so vibrant + warm!! I tried their Ginger Hubert, which was a delicious tequila-based cocktail. We will definitely be back - were looking forward to trying some of their dishes during our next visit!

  • Review 39 (2024-04-01 - Rating: 5)

Wow, this was a fantastic and scrumptious experience for us. We visited this restaurant for breakfast during our trip to Manhattan. I had booked a table two weeks in advance and Im glad I did, as the place is always bustling with people. The building and the interior decor are both beautiful. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the French toast was especially amazing. We have never tasted anything quite like it before. The service was amazing. Next time, we will also stay at the hotel.

  • Review 40 (2024-02-18 - Rating: 5)

We were transported back to Paris, when we tried the food. Delicious and scrumptious! We finally found our favorite brunch place.

  • Review 41 (2024-06-06 - Rating: 5)

The Croque Madame was delicious, and it was served quickly. The service is excellent, and they dont rush you to leave. The outdoor patio is lovely, and the indoor seating is great as well.

  • Review 42 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)

Nice charming brunch spot. Perfect eggs Benedict. Beautiful art.

  • Review 43 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 4)

Love the environment. We had the famous Ravioles du Dauphiné (I had high expectations, it was not bad, but didnt absolutely loved it), the croquettes (with goat cheese and honey, really delicious), the Maitake Au Poivre (OMG!! Mushroom! So good!) and the thing I was most excited about: the chocolate soufle. Perfection.

  • Review 44 (2024-03-03 - Rating: 5)

Café, Chelsea is a really great spot to go for a date night or with a group of friends. The ambience is truly unmatched, and the food is very good quality. The steak frites are truly incredible especially accompanied with the lemony herb butter. The drinks are definitely on the strong side, but nonetheless I enjoyed my espresso martini. The chocolate soufflé is rich and very good. The vanilla cognac ice cream is truly so underrated! Service is good however the front check in area could be more organized. Overall a nice spot especially late at night!

  • Review 45 (2024-09-28 - Rating: 4)

We went here for dinner earlier this month and sat out front, it was a good time. They were filming something on the street so it was a lively mood and everyone was having fun. Id probably skip dinner. Even the ravioli which looked very cute, was extremely unmemorable - but go for the wine (we had a chilled red that was amazing - lovely convo with the sommelier) and the chocolate souffle which was excellent.

  • Review 46 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)

Overall I would say 5/5. The food is not mind blowing to be honest it is like 7/10 by New York foodie standards, but the ambience and the actual place plus the amazing customer service made it 5/5 overall. The waiters are super friendly and nice and accommodating. The host was very friendly also and the decorations and the ambience was old vintage local and nice. I liked that we didn’t have a swarm of tourists coming although the location is bit touristy. We had burger and the American breakfast, both were again 7/10 not bad but not mind blowing, coffee and tea were 10/10. Prices are New York prices around 30$ a person with coffee and tip. Afterwards we took photos of the place and hotel which is just simply gorgeous and makes the trip worthwhile. Highly recommend it.

This place was amazing! Jessica was so nice to me she single handedly made my experience one i will never forget! I will be sure to come back and bring friends! Phenomenal!

  • Review 50 (2024-07-21 - Rating: 5)

The dark chocolate soufflé here is an absolute delight! It wasn’t overly sweetened, which allowed the rich, silky dark chocolate sauce to shine. The soufflé itself was light and fluffy, making it perfect for sharing with friends. Another standout was the Ravioles du Dauphiné, filled with delicate cheese and wine, perfectly wrapped and cooked to perfection. The omelette, although simple with no filling, had a brilliantly runny inside. The fries were a pleasant surprise, crispy and not too greasy. The vibes were nice, and the service was great. Highly recommend!

  • Review 51 (2024-01-25 - Rating: 4)

Wasnt seated until 30 minutes after our reservation, the entry area was worse than a rush hour G train - no room to move at all. The food was delicious and service was fast, thought the chicken punched well above its price. Theres a dessert souffle that looked interesting, but had a please allow 30 minutes note on the menu, so if youre planning on dessert, order midway through the meal.

  • Review 52 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)

Sophisticated and pleasant ambiance. A rare space of relaxing breakfast or dining in bustling NY

  • Review 53 (2024-09-27 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 54 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 4)

Menu wasnt my cup of tea, so I went for cocktails just to check out the scene as I love the Lobby bar in that hotel. The old-fashioned was sub-par, and that should always be made well as its such a classic. So that was unfortunate. It was pretty packed, so it was very loud inside, but not in good way. Idk that I would return. Id prob just stick with the lobby bar

  • Review 55 (2024-03-10 - Rating: 5)

In NYC for my nephews wedding and the day afterwards needed to have food. Well, this restaurant did not just serve food. We had AMAZING breakfast/brunch. I had the French toast. Its absolutely the best Ive ever had. If you are ever in NYC please go here. Its highly recommended.

  • Review 56 (2024-01-23 - Rating: 4)

Fantastic food but overall very pricy for super small portions, especially drinks. Iced tea comes in the tiniest long drink glass full of ice and is $7 without refills (nobody tells you that). The equivalent of a standard pint glass of iced tea costs you about $28. You don’t really expect self brewed tea that costs pennies to make to be charged at such exorbitant prices. The burger was good but again over $30 is crazy for what it is. Overall beautiful place and great lunch if you ignore the above.

  • Review 57 (2024-06-18 - Rating: 5)

My husband and I finally got to enjoy brunch at the renowned Cafe Chelsea. The food was delicious and packed with flavor. However, was stood out to us was our amazing waitress, Heagan.Heagan sweet Southern charm was infectious and genuine. Who doesnt love a waitress that knows their menu?! She knew her dishes and her recommendations were spot on.Even though we couldnt celebrate our anniversary Saturday night--- today we got to celebrate more love and good food.We look forward to coming back soon.

An upscale experience. Very good but very pricey. I had the Croque Madame. Not the best Ive had, but good.

  • Review 62 (2024-01-02 - Rating: 4)

Atmosphere is great!! If you are going during rush hour, be ready for tight seating. We were a group of five seating at corner banquette, it barely fit us, and hard to came out. The distance between tables are really narrow. Other than that, the food and service is good.

  • Review 67 (2024-03-21 - Rating: 4)

Finally made it here! Beautiful historic building with classic neoclassical vibes. It was a tad bit noisy though given how popular this place has become. French toast was delicious and substantial. The merguez sausage tasted authentic as they didn’t hold off the spice. Staff was attentive making sure our glasses were constantly filled with water. Overall, good but it was hard to hear my friends over the noise.

  • Review 68 (2023-12-26 - Rating: 5)

Cafe Chelsea is SO chic! It’s a Parisian style cafe and menu; I absolutely adored it. The servers were professional and so down to earth and cool that it would put any patron at ease. The brunch is simple, but not basic. I love the portion sizes and the matcha latte was top tier. Definitely a place to take anyone you’re trying to impress. A new favorite on my NYC guide.

  • Review 69 (2024-01-17 - Rating: 5)

We only grabbed drinks, but the environment and history of the place is enough to make you stay for a while. I had a whiskey cocktail and an espresso martini, both were excellent! And I’ll definitely be back to grab food.

  • Review 70 (2023-10-30 - Rating: 4)

Had a lovely brunch. The French toast was delicious; not your typical Fr toast. Made with custard and had a crust similar to a creme brulee. Cognac infused syrup took it to another level. Can you say salivate? The staff was spot on and covered each other. Very attentive. As for the vibe and the look in general, simply lovely! On my list as a forever keeper!

  • Review 71 (2024-04-02 - Rating: 5)

Our large group of 8 tried just about everything on the menu and found it all to be exquisite! Truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The service was outstanding. The staff was very attentive and constantly clearing plates for us to enjoy the next course. I will highly recommend Cafe’ Chelsea to anybody visiting NYC!

  • Review 73 (2023-07-21 - Rating: 5)

Cafe Chelsea is the highlight of my visit from London. Thank you.Walked into the buzzing room with memorable decor and got seated swiftly with warm greetings by their charismatic host, Matt. Food was delicious and service from everyone in the team was en point. I’ve never seen such impeccably coordinated and warm team on a 2nd week of a restaurant launch. Well done Cafe Chelsea. I will return and recommend anyone who comes through NYC to give it a try.

  • Review 74 (2023-10-28 - Rating: 5)

Go for the vibrant scene in this newly created brasserie inside the historic Hotel Chelsea - brought to you by the Sunday In Brooklyn group. Very well executed food covering all the NYC menu staples: a great burger, pretty perfect French fries, a solid half chicken, and a social-media worthy stuffed pasta situation. Excellent service. Don’t miss the chocolate soufflé.

  • Review 75 (2023-07-16 - Rating: 5)

The food was amazing!!! Everything was really delicious, but my favorites: Ravioles, chicken, the tartare, the lemon pasta and the ice cream. Service was friendly and the cocktails were really good too. I will be back. 10/10 :)

  • Review 76 (2023-09-29 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic, boisterous French bistro. The service is friendly and attentive - not pretentious like other trendy restaurants in NYC. Make sure you order the ravioles du Dauphiné and then order it again after you had the first plate. You won’t be disappointed!

Rarely I give all fives , awesome trendy spot , we pretty much had the whole menu steak was great, Sea-bass was outta this world , seafood tower exquisite, chick pea, ravioli and dessert is a must , what makes this place worth while is the staff and ambiance as soon as you walk in your transported to old Paris theme decor that is stunning, greeted with a super friendly team of hosts servers and wait staff, I will definitely return. Thank you Jordan Matt , Louis , Brandon and everyone else for an awesome night !

Very solid and great service. Went here for NYE and wasn’t disappointed. Definitely a popular place from Instagram/TikTok, but it lived up to the hype. Burger was good. Ravioli was light tasty. Cocktails are solid. Would definitely go back.

  • Review 79 (2024-03-04 - Rating: 4)

A bit overhyped. They sat us down late but gave us free starter and sparkling wine to make up for it. The ravioli was nice but not as brilliant as the tik tokers might have you believeInside was busy and quite loud. But the food is still good despite the above, albeit expensive.Im a massive sweet tooth but didnt feel the souffle.

Surely the spot of the moment, everything you’d want on a nice night out- great vibes, excellent food & impeccable & friendly hospitality. Staffs were especially lovely, big shout out to the best maître d Matt and everyone at Cafe Chelsea for making our night so special. Definitely will be back and I assume this place to become another NYC classic in a near future. Highly recommended!

The black bass and chocolate souffle were delicious! The side bread and Sauvignon Blanc were great. The dining areas are loud and its difficult to hear your server otherwise a beautiful atmosphere.

  • Review 83 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)

Neighborhood essential! The people watching is 10/10, the staff is incredibly friendly and service is great, the vibe is very New York with a touch of classic sass. The food was very tasty, but on the rich side so be prepared to get very full! We will be back, particularly for the chocolate soufflé - I’m still dreaming about it.

  • Review 84 (2023-09-23 - Rating: 5)

Nice French cafe right next to historical Hotel Chelsea which is a landmark for having famous writers who stayed at this hotel among other people. The food was good - the shrimp appetizer was fresh on a bed of ice and the juice and hot water was just fine. I could smell the butter and cheese and fried calamari on other tables and it was so good. It was busy and every table was pretty full on a Friday night. The inside is very dark at night so you can feel beautiful bc no one can see your flaws or your body 😂. The pics had enhanced lighting from my iPhone. lAnyway, it’s just a great area (Chelsea) and it’s a fun and bustling area of Manhattan that can never go wrong. Oh interesting … coasters are thin cloth w the name of the cafe … unique.

This place is chic!Love that they cater to my little one when we do go. Each time has been without a reservation, and theyve been able to accommodate each time.Whipping up a delicious Shirley Temple for my girl while her dad enjoys his grown-up drink.Fries for everyone to share!

This was a lovely French cafe. I enjoyed my raspberry spritz and eggs Benedict. The bathrooms are downstairs, and while clean, not the most accessible for patrons who might need them to be.

  • Review 93 (2024-08-01 - Rating: 5)

Undoubtedly the most beautiful space in nyc when it comes to restaurants. The host was as professional as they come. The food ( roasted chicken, raviolis, chick pea fritter, burger ) were absolute perfection. The atmosphere cannot be explained, only experienced. Everywhere you look is another example of attention to detail. BRAVO!!!!!!!

Delicious traditional food, extremely friendly service, and a really nice atmosphere. No creme brule but thats OK, the Almond Tart is world class!

  • Review 95 (2024-10-07 - Rating: 5)

I thought this was just an Instagram-hyped place, but the food exceeded my expectations. The ravioli portion was small, but the balance of flavors was perfect. The burger may not be the best you can get in New York, but it’s definitely one of the tastiest. The maitake mushroom dish was as satisfying as a steak. The interior is beautifully designed, and the service was excellent. It’s definitely one of the great French restaurants in New York.

  • Review 96 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 5)

First, we were greeted by a fabulous sommelier! Then, our server who was on point! I had the chicken, my daughter had the steak frites. We were back in Paris… This Texas girl will fly back to NYC for dinner anytime! Oh! And the chocolate soufflé was pure perfection!

Beautiful space and lighting, food was tasty, service a bit rushed, nice buzzy atmosphere

  • Review 99 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 4)

Had a reservation for dinner, and this place gets busy. Service was slow, but I think that’s more to understaffing than the waitstaff fault. Overall would recommend for an evening out. We ordered:Panisse: skip; heavy on the rosemary and texture is more mush.Croquette: amazing! Creamy and decadent. Would order, again. The viral raviolis: a disappointment! Maybe because it hyped up but I found the texture to be soft and the flavor to be bland with hints of something tomato.Cheeseburger: great! A bit overpriced but the cheese is the star.Chocolate soufflé: absolutely order. A rich mix of chocolate and spices.

  • Review 100 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 5)

Food was great. We went for lunch and sadly they do not serve the ravioli sheet & chocolate soufflé for lunch. We were sad but will be coming back for dinner!

My friend and I walked in on a Tuesday night and were accommodated without a reservation. The atmosphere is lovely- French bistro style. Our server (I think her name was Hannah) was really great- the service was attentive but not overbearing, and she made great recommendations. The goat cheese croquettes, chilled artichoke, and the burger were the highlights of our meal. Def recommend!

  • Review 131 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 4)

We had dinner at Cafe Chelsea, the place is amazing, really nice atmosphere and unique design from the inside. The food was tasty and the use of high-quality ingredients was noticeable. The place definitely got my 5 stars on Food and Atmosphere although the service was good overall, the 4 stars were for pushing to take away plates that are not finished yet and service communication, I honestly think there are some place for improvement here. Also when my wife asked for their Choklate souffle the waitress specified that it takes 30 minutes to prepare even though we heard people around us ordering and getting it in a reasonable time, so we asked again how come to people around getting it in less than 30 minutes and the answer was this is what it is take it or leave it, and thats kind of rude. Anyway, we ended up asking another waiter and he explained that it could take 30 minutes but it typically comes quicker.

The host was incredibly personable and polite. The general manager was also very courteous and made sure to check in on our experience. 11/10 would come here again!
