My favourite food I had in the city, and we ate at two Michelin starred restaurants! They had an incredible chanterelle and nectarine dish when we dined there that I still think about. The interior is lovely, however the room is very loud and they should improve the acoustics! Also service was not amazing. Food though, excellent.

A friend and I were able to snag a last minute reservation for 7pm on a Friday night. We had a bottle of skin contact wine, the cauliflower, kanpachi, bread, olives, and the schnitzel. Everything was enjoyable. Some notes:We got a bottle of the Snapping Crocodile skin contact wine and this was for sure the highlight of the meal. They had an extensive wine list, only cracking open a few bottles per section for per glass pours. The kanpachi was super fresh, but could have used a little salt or a bit more umami. The cauliflower comes in the form of a salad and it was tasty. The schnitzel was probably my favorite, hitting all the notes in terms of flavor and texture.Since their menu changes so frequently these notes may not even matter. If you are really hungry, this may not be the place for a full dinner since the dishes are a bit on the smaller side. Since we weren’t starving, it was a good amount for us, even having some leftovers. Since it’s in NYC where there are endless food options, we agreed we would prefer to come back and sit at the bar for wine.PS - we were a group of two and they put us at a 4 person table, placing the lamp in the middle of the table to make it feel more split. We were fine with it but if you would be sensitive to that, I would make note! Service was great overall and loved the atmosphere. Felt like we were transported to a wine bar on the French countryside.

Cute spot. Great lighting, rustic-chic decor, loud, yet intimate and convivial. Great food. Service is a bit indifferent. Don’t miss the vegetarian schnitzel or their sourdough.

Great atmosphere and delicious wines. Would give 5 stars but our server was judging us for not wanting certain bottles due to them being out of our price range. Will be back for a nice date spot.

My favorite restaurant in NYC!!!The wine is marvelous as well as the food. The food is complicated but simple. Its a mix of comfort and refinement. It is an amazing place for every occasion

Took my girlfriend here for our 1 year anniversary and they took incredible care of us. We got four dishes and all were so unique and incredible tasting. With our favorites being the trout and the crab. Wine was recommended to us by our waiter and was fantastic, got buzzed, ate delicious food. All in all, the perfect anniversary dinner,

A neighborhood wine bar w very good wines and excellent fresh complex food. It all worked very well. It’s brilliant you can just have a very good glass of wine w bread or a piece of Gouda and cherries and not leave broke or just work your way tasting through the menu as we did.

This place really is a gem. Great atmosphere and incredible food. Friendly and helpful staff. We had an amazing time at this truly special place.

Fun, vibrant, setting with a spectacular wine list and small plates. The asparagus dish quite literally was my favourite thing I ate on my most recent trip to NYC. We ate the rhubarb tuna, beignets & coppa, cucumber salad, as well as the asparagus & mussels, veg lasagna, and the dessert. Paired with a bottle of Orange Matassa… everything was wonderful. Well done Gem team!

A perfect wine bar, excellent appetizers and amazing wine selection.

  • Review 11 (2024-04-22 - Rating: 5)

The best vibe, cozy, warm, unpretentious. For us so tasty and menu changes with season. Server was charming, enthusiastic and shared her favorites. We had a very wholesome evening, third time here and still love it.

  • Review 12 (2024-04-21 - Rating: 4)

Food was amazing! But the portions were a little small. We ordered the beignets, the tuna with rhubarb (a must get), bread, ham, salad, the skate wing, and the Mille feuille for dessert. The flavours were super interesting and the vegetables and fish were all very fresh. Wine was great too! Inside gets a little loud when it’s packed, but overall the vibe is great.

This is a lovely, intimate wine bar. All their glass pours are $15 and bottles are fairly priced. We had the anchovies with bread and butter, which was simple but tasty (although Id recommend serving unsalted butter as salted butter + anchovies was a bit of a salt bomb). I was generally pleased with the wine and the food. Unfortunately, the cold service and homogenous clientele (white, hipster millenials) made for a bit of an uncomfortable experience, so I probably wont be back.

Was very fortunate to attend a private event here and omg, the food was amazing! The produce used in the dishes were very fresh and the pairing of spices were incredible. I discovered new vegetables I never had before and absolutely loved them! Definitely recommend this place for everyone who want a locally sourced farm to table experience.

Amazing! Went for dinner on a Tuesday night. The space is gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, our server took the time to explain and educate us about the wines. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the mackerel! An exciting addition to NYC!

  • Review 16 (2024-05-02 - Rating: 5)

A super cute wine bar. The decor is lovely and staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The by glass menu is a bit limited. Great for date nights and friends gathering so you can open bottles. Didn’t try food but next time!

This place really is a gem. Great vibe and incredible food!

  • Review 18 (2023-04-06 - Rating: 5)

Fine wine bar in the neibourhood with a great variety of distinguished wines and an extremely ambitinous menue of small dishes. Taste of both is outstanding delicious. Very friendly and knowledgable service. Very friendly patron. Go there, check it out! Fully recommended.

Enjoyed non alcoholic wine with my girl friend. 🍷🍷❤️

  • Review 20 (2023-04-30 - Rating: 4)

Such a cute spot for wine. They don’t have a menu for wine but have a set of wine that they serve and a lot of bottles. Food is also surprisingly good. I would go for the bottles if you know what you want.

  • Review 21 (2024-06-14 - Rating: 4)

Cute!! We really enjoyed ourselves. I like the location a lot it’s a bit removed from dimes square proper and you get some breathing room. We sat outside and it was fun. The inside atmosphere also seems really nice. Would love to go back

The perfect spot for a calm drink & dishes with unique flavors like this beet salad tossed with blackberries

  • Review 23 (2024-04-16 - Rating: 4)

Great dining experience but food is not worth the price. Main courses are $40+

  • Review 24 (2024-04-04 - Rating: 5)

I had heard great things about gem wine bar and was very much looking forward to exploring their wine list and menu. Unfortunately the weather had other plans and our flight that was supposed to arrive at 2:30 pm was delayed hour by hour. At 4pm we realized we could not make our 8pm reservation. We called the restaurant as soon as they opened, giving ample time to rebook. Despite ultimately having to cancel the reservation due to the flight they were very kind.

Romantic enough for a date and casual enough for a catch-up, Gem nails it on the ambiance. I like that the restaurant has a few communal tables, reminded me of the experience at Blue Note. The service was spotty, though. We were among the first diners of the night, so there wasnt a rush, and yet our server was a bit timid in telling us about the menu. I felt more warmth and enthusiasm from the cooks as they ran the food over to us (which is a really nice touch btw).As for the food, it was delightful though mildly inventive. It was presented well, though the dish would come apart in a way that it difficult to share. I also dont consider the portions to be adequate for sharing. In the end, I wish we wouldve ordered more. I think you have to spend about $100 per person to actually feel like youve had a full meal. That is okay, though! Par for the course in LES. Somewhat worth it. Will likely be back.PS: Gem Wine, if youre reading this, why is your logo on your menu pixelated? I know this is nitpicking as hell, but all that attention to detail and...

Most amazing meal in Manhattan, time and time again!

  • Review 30 (2024-01-30 - Rating: 5)

Great place for wines , bites and cool vibes. It’s cosy and everything we tried was tasty. There was big variety for bottled wines but only one choice for by the glass

  • Review 31 (2024-01-26 - Rating: 5)

Like being transported to Europe in the LES. Loved Gem and now can say I also love Gem Wine. Laid back vibe, can tell they’re having a lot of fun with the menu. Super chic crowd. Loud in a buzzy, full to the brim sort of way that I haven’t enjoyed in the city in quiteeee a while. We sat at the bar and loved our experience top to bottom.LOVED and will try to race back for the schnitzel, wagyu, spinach salad (perhaps the highlight,) coconut cake, and coffee ice cream before it’s too late. Also, there definitely was a menu! Saw a review saying there wasn’t one but at the bar, there was. So perhaps things have changed.Run don’t walk!!

  • Review 35 (2022-11-10 - Rating: 5)

Great atmosphere, a small wine bar with a very good variety of natural wines from France, Georgia and more, and very nice food. Highly recommended

  • Review 36 (2023-05-21 - Rating: 5)

Small space, but good wine & bites and intimate ambiance. Friendly staff.

  • Review 37 (2022-03-15 - Rating: 5)

Never been to a better wine bar! This place makes you want to get into wine. The food is amazing and then decor is spot on. Great for any type of rendezvous and the owner is a GEM!

  • Review 41 (2024-04-27 - Rating: 5)

A very atmospheric place.I was alone and was able to sit at the bar. It was a special pleasure to watch the hall from the outside. Ready-made stories for the series)))Its noisy, cramped, not very bright, and this creates a very comfortable feeling...In addition, there is an excellent selection of wine, including by the glass. Good serviceThe discovery for me was the appetizer half wine cheese with apple. Great simpleI really liked it here

  • Review 42 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 4)

Interesting cuisine, but uneven. Friendly service, but its noisy enough that its difficult to hear the team when they present the dishes to us.

  • Review 43 (2023-04-25 - Rating: 5)

Great place, delicious food and natural wines. Expect high prices, especially the wine is close to very high figures. The booking policy is Walk-in, meaning as soon as you arrive you leave your name and you are seated as soon as possible
