Hawksmoor NYC offered a great dining experience. I attended a dinner in a private room and we were able to enjoy nine different dishes as part of a menu that we preselected. While everything was excellent, the star of the show was the meat. Specifically the Charcoal Grilled Chateaubriand for me. The quality, quantity, and temperature of all the meat was perfect. The cocktail and wine selection is good. Some of the cocktails were on the sweeter side for my taste but that is my personal preference. Everything is on the more expensive side but not unexpected or absurd for such a high quality food experience at a NYC steakhouse. I would absolutely go back. -

Real food!!! We had the best late lunch with our 3 boys yesterday. No seed oils! Amazing cocktails, great wine list, excellent food. French fries are fried in beef tallow. We felt wonderful and had the best time!I highly recommend the scallops, beet salad, burgers and sirloin. Sides were amazing- like my grandmother was in the kitchen. The service was impecable! Hurray! NYC needs more restaurants like this one! -

I had the best birthday dinner ever at Hawksmoor. From the second we got to our seat, I was greeted with a happy birthday and our server was super helpful. I wanted to get the famous Hawksmoor burger, but since I was sitting in the dining room and not bar, I was not sure if I would be able to still get. The server asked the chef and was able to get it for us to go. The food was amazing, the drinks also were super flavorful and went down smooth. The setting and dinning room is beautiful. They even bought me out ice cream even though I did not order any dessert (we were in a rush)! Super nice people, will definitely be back. -

My husband and I had an absolutely fantastic meal here! We loved it so much! Our server Robbie was fun and attentive. The food was phenomenal. The scallops were literally life changing! Would order so many of them. The steak was absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly! I can’t say enough good things! -

This was by far the best dinner my husband and I have ever had!! It beats the dinner we had at Gibson Italia in Chicago and it 100% deserves the title of our favorite restaurant!! The portions are really good and quite filling, the service we received was amazing and the food was spectacular! We had Ionela as our server for the first portion of the night and then Valentina took care of us for the final bit and they were the absolute best!! Ionela gave us a fully detailed rundown of the menu, she was so sweet and on top of everything! Valentina was extremely kind and they were both so happy and we had wonderful conversations with them! We got the bone marrow to start and split a T-bone (have to get the bone marrow gravy) with fries + the mac & cheese on the side and ended the night in the heavenly sticky toffee pudding. 100/10 recommend this place and we will be telling everyone about it plus the amazing service we received from these girls! The only slight downside is that the dining hall is quite loud but that’s because everyone is having such a good time. We can’t wait to come back to New York and visit Hawksmoor & try more from their spectacular menu! -

Hawksmoor NYC exceeded all expectations, delivering an unparalleled dining experience that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made me feel at home, while the attentive and knowledgeable staff elevated the evening with their impeccable service. The bar set the tone with expertly crafted cocktails, each sip showcasing a perfect balance of flavors. But it was the food that truly stole the show. The steaks at Hawksmoor are, without a doubt, the best I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection, each bite was a celebration of rich, succulent flavors, with a texture so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The quality of the meat was outstanding, a testament to their commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients. To top off the meal, the Peanut-butter Louie was a revelation. It’s easily the most delicious dessert I’ve ever experienced, with its creamy, indulgent layers that brought the meal to a sweet, satisfying close. Hawksmoor has set a new standard for steakhouses in New York, and I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. -

We dined at the London location and were not impressed. This NYC location was a much better dining experience. Six of us dined for my daughters birthday, and not one of us was disappointed. Chateaubriand was the star of the night... followed closely by the scallops and the desserts. I dont mind paying for great food, good service and a really nice atmosphere...But I thought this tipped over into the realm of being slightly overpriced. It was a wonderful dining experience for my daughters birthday, and for that I thank you and your entire staff. If youre reading this, yes you can expect to pay more than $100 per person... But it is NYC. I encourage you to go eat, drink, and enjoy this wonderful dining experience. Is it a little pricey? You be the judge for yourself. Thanks. -

I recently had a great dinner at Hawksmoor NYC with two friends on a Saturday night, and it was fantastic from start to finish. It was a hot day, but luckily, they don’t have a strict dress code, so my shorts were totally fine.We got a warm welcome from the staff right when we walked in, which set a nice tone for the evening. Our waiter, Ryan, was super attentive and gave us some awesome recommendations. To start, we got a scallops dish on the house, which was a nice surprise and absolutely delicious. The steaks were cooked just right—medium-rare, maybe a bit on the rare side, but still amazing. The cocktail menu was excellent with lots of creative and refreshing options. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, definitely save some room for dessert because they’re incredible.**Pro Tip:** Make reservations at least two weeks in advance, especially if youre planning to go on a weekend.Overall, Hawksmoor NYC was an awesome dining experience, and I highly recommend it for a great night out. -

Hawksmoor is a great place for the birthday dinner. We had Chateaubriand with several sauces with peppercorn sauce, béarnaise sauce, and bone marrow gravy sauce. All were very tasty and good. Also, You can bring your wines.Overall, very good! -

Phenomenal service and atmosphere starter dishes were amazing, steaks were questionable. If you like the charcoal grilled style and taste this is the spot for you, although personally it was not my favorite cooked steak. A must try though is definitely the bone marrow and the bone marrow gravy!! -
Review 11 (2024-10-30 - Rating: 5)
It was loud and busy! The steak, scallops, and oysters were my favorites. I wasn’t a fan of the bone marrow—it had too much onion. Overall, a great steakhouse! -
Review 12 (2024-07-07 - Rating: 5)
GET THE SCALLOPS!!!I have never had such a delightful scallop as this one - truly cooked to perfection! We had an array of dishes like the tartare, bread and cultured butter, Caesar salad, shrimp tempura, fries, creamed spinach, ribeye, Mac and cheese, fish, and ice cream. My favorite dish was the creamed spinach which was actually a touch garlicky/gingery and was very pleasant! The ribeye was very tender and perfectly seasoned.Really great time at this restaurant!!! -

I came upon opening time and did not make a reservation since I was told on the phone that I could not reserve a spot at the bar. The bar was packed already, so I sat at a small table near the bar. When 2 people got up, I sat at the bar. The bar serves food that the normal tables cant get. I was greeted by one of the bartenders who was busy serving drinks. I didnt get his name, but he looked like Mr. Clean with a goatee. He was very professional. He took my order, which was the Deluxe It. Its basically a play on McDonalds Big Mac meal. I could only order it at the bar. The burger by itself is called the Notorius B.E.E.F and its supposed to be for a limited time. I could taste the toastiness of the homemade bread, the dry aged beef patties were really good and the sauce is not as sweet as McDonalds. The fries just tasted like fries and came with homemade ketchup. The ketchup was good, but if they had used a good name brand one, I wouldnt care. For all the work that they do, no wonder its pricey. The ginger brew is extremely gingery and non alcoholic. I loved it but wont recommend it to anyone that doesnt like ginger. I also had sourdough bread with butter and the crust of the bread was so hard that I couldnt eat it. The bread itself was good. The butter is served cold, so I recommend leaving it on the table for a little bit to melt. The bar tender tried to get me to have dessert, but my stomach wouldnt take anymore. He recommended the Sticky Toffee Sundae and Peanut Butter Louis. -

I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best food experience I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I ate in silence that’s how good it was. The steak was phenomenal. I usually do not like steaks at restaurants that much but this time I was blown away by the flavours and texture of this steak. Even as the steak got colder, the taste and succulence was still the same. This is the best steak I have and probably will ever eat. Additionally, what really surprised us was how unbelievably good the carrots tasted (the waiters also recommended this side dish)!! The flavour was so unique and addictive. I have never tasted anything like it before so I definitely recommend trying them out!Although it is quite expensive, the quality of the food is outstanding and definitely worth paying the price. -

Hawksmoor exceeded all my expectations for a steak and seafood dinner! The atmosphere is elegant and cozy, perfect for a special night out. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations.Overall, Hawksmoor is a must-visit for anyone in search of top-quality steak and seafood in the city! -

As a British ex pat in NYC having a hawksmoor here is magical. The Yorkshire puddings and sticky toffee pudding are a taste of home. The steak is awesome and some of the best I’ve tasted in NYC and I make several visits a year to the restaurant. A while ago they introduced potentially one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted on their bar menu - their hash browns. Sadly the last two times I have visited they are no longer on the menu. This is a great disservice for the whole Hawksmoor experience - I really hope they bring them back soon! -

Everything was the best! The food was honestly significantly better than the London location too lol. Our waitress, Kelsey, was the best. We appreciate everyone being kind and understanding with our baby, too. Can’t wait to come back! -

Great ambiance and perfectly cooked steaks. The rib chop special is highly recommended as are the charred scallops, bone marrow and Caesars salad. The only blemish was the sticky toffee pudding which was served cold and still wasnt great when warmed up. The peanut butter Louis dessert was much betterThey have a very reasonable corkage fee of $35 which was great for me as I had some nice red wines Ive been planning on opening with a nice meal -
Review 19 (2024-05-21 - Rating: 5)
Yum! They dont smother the steak in butter like new york steakhouses (which I still love) so its not as heavy and you can really taste the flavor from the dry aging process. I had the bone in ribchop and it was delicious! Only complaint was that the meat was a bit overcooked; ordered medium rare but it came out closer to medium so some of the cuts were quite tough.Great fries! Grilled oysters were alright, and the desserts were great. 8/10! -
Review 20 (2024-12-06 - Rating: 5)
Undoubtedly one of the best steakhouses I’ve visited. The steak was exceptional—perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Hawksmoor is a must-visit for steak lovers. I’d happily return for another fantastic meal. -

Dinner at 8:45pm. restaurant was still packed. great cocktail menu! we had the sour cherry negronis and their house old fashions. bread, then scallops (the star of the show) and Caesar salad. for meat, we had a 28oz chop. it was tougher than i would have liked even though our server recommending it as it was more fatty. served with mashed potatoes and spinachoverall a great experience -

**Five Stars - An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Hawksmoor NYC**My recent visit to Hawksmoor NYC was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, but what truly made the evening memorable was our phenomenal server, Katie.I have specific dietary needs due to heartburn, and Katie went above and beyond to accommodate me. She was incredibly patient and attentive, taking the time to discuss menu options and even consulting with the chefs to ensure I could enjoy a delicious meal without any worries. Her recommendations were spot-on, and I felt genuinely cared for throughout the evening. We were dining to honor my wifes father, and Katie added a special touch that touched our hearts. She mentioned it was a tradition at Hawksmoor to offer a complimentary drink in memory of a loved one who has passed away. This thoughtful gesture meant the world to us. To top it off, she surprised us with a complimentary dessert, making the night even more special.Katies exceptional service turned our meal into a fantastic experience well never forget. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness are a true asset to Hawksmoor. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for not just a great meal but an outstanding dining experience. Thank you, Katie, and the entire Hawksmoor team for making our evening so memorable! -

I recently had a great dinner at Hawksmoor NYC. The food was so good as it should be but the thing that we would like to point out is the service. We received a wonderful experience especially by a server name “Ornela” She’s so sweet and gave me a lot of awesome foods. Most of our plates were recommended by her and it’s excellent.Since we’ve arrived, we got a warmly little conversation for starters menu without any rush. We also surprised that she gave us another starter that we did not order. She said she would like us to try what she’s think the best.last but not least, her service was very nice. She always took care of us. We very impressed and appreciate her.Don’t hesitate to make a reservation with Hawksmoor NYC, I HIGHLY recommend it! -

Such a beautiful steakhouse! Everything here was high quality, and you pay for it. My favorite steak cut was the chateaubriand. The best thing I ate here though was the lamb starter (it was incredible). The beef fat fries, mac n cheese and Caesar salad were also great, know that they are personal sized. The service was a bit slow and not the most welcoming. If you want your choice of meat cut, grab an earlier reservation. I went on a Friday night at 9pm and we had a very limited choice of steak cuts unfortunately. -

Hawksmoor NYC exceeded all expectations during my recent visit. My sister and I chose this establishment to celebrate our birthday, and it turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. We had bone marrow, lamb, lobster, steak, mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and a myriad of other mouthwatering dishes. Our waiter, Jerry, played a pivotal role in enhancing our evening. Jerry was an expert in knowing the menu, making recommendations that complemented our preferences. If you happen to be in the area, you should stop by! -

Had been wanting to go to Hawksmoor for a while, and it did not disappoint. They took my party of two as a walk-in on a Saturday night, but Ill make a reservation next time. We ordered the Bone Marrow (appetizer), a 14 oz Ribeye (medium rare) with Bone Marrow Gravy, and Creamed Spinach. The Bone Marrow with onions was phenomenal; it spread like butter on the toast. The 14 oz ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare and was a good portion for the two of us since we weren’t very hungry. The bone marrow gravy was amazing — paired so well with the ribeye. The creamed spinach was pretty decent, though I wish it were creamier. -
Review 27 (2023-08-08 - Rating: 5)
We have had 2 8-person group dinners and a 2 person dining experience here. The servers are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. The steak could have a little bit more of a sear on the outside but the meat quality is great! The apps and sides as well as the peanut butter Louis dessert were all awesome. Definitely order the tomato salad and scotch bonnet oysters! -
Review 28 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 4)
Service is excellent. We ordered pork belly, bone in chop (30 oz ribeye) and some drinks. Pork belly is very tender and not too greasy. The side of vinegar slaw balanced the fat.For the ribeye, I loved it. The charcoal was perfect and added a smoky flavor to the meat. Temperature is on point. My partner didnt like it though as its not as fatty as other ribeye cuts he had in other steakhouses. I also loved their ginger cocktail. One downside is that it is hard to get on hold of the restaurants via phone calls when we ran into some issues with our reservation. Also its more expensive than other NYC steakhouses. -
Review 29 (2024-06-28 - Rating: 5)
Food was exceptional. The mail dining room gets really loud so you end up “shouting” the whole night. The rib eye and the sticky toffee pudding are sublime. For a steakhouse the wine list could be better. We had a boys dinner on Tuesday. Would definitely come back. -
Review 30 (2024-05-14 - Rating: 4)
Very good restaurant overall with exceptional service and good steak. The starters were excellent with a nice ceasar salad, great pork belly, very good potted beef with yorkshire pudding and onion gravy, along with a nice bone marrow. The steaks were good, but a little salty and perhaps a level below some of the exceptional steaks at some other NY steakhouses. They also dont have regular house steak sauce, only $6 add-on sauces like beurnaise, peppercorn, etc. The sides were fine, but also not exceptional. The atmosphere was dim and quite noisy as the place was packed with diners. I did see a lot of hamburgers going out, so perhaps thats the better way to go.Overall, its fine and Im sure that there will be diners who prefer this steak to other high end establishments, but Ill try another steakhouse next time. -

Hawksmoor NYC is a top-tier dining experience that delivers exceptional food, service, and ambiance. From the moment you walk into this stylish yet welcoming steakhouse, you’re greeted by an elegant, modern interior with a relaxed vibe that immediately sets the stage for a memorable meal. Located in the heart of the Flatiron District, the restaurant boasts a prime location, making it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy high-end dining in New York City. The service at Hawksmoor is second to none. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly, ensuring that every need is met without being intrusive. They guide you through the menu with expertise and offer excellent recommendations, whether youre selecting your steak or pairing it with a wine from their extensive list.As for the food, its absolutely outstanding. The dry-aged steaks are cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides, like the creamy mashed potatoes and roasted bone marrow, are equally impressive. Each bite is a testament to the quality and care that goes into every dish. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or just a fantastic meal, Hawksmoor NYC is a must-visit for anyone craving top-notch steak and impeccable service in a great location.Definitely try the burger 🍔!!! -

Best meal we had in NYC. The steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We really liked the bone marrow gravy. Creamed spinach was awesome. Finally for dessert we had the Peanut Butter Louis, which was salty, sweet... So good! Highly recommend.Update 1.5 years later: we can back during another visit to NYC.Still amazing food, and the second time it was once again the best meal of the trip. -

No complaints. A very nice steakhouse that I plan to frequent. Really like the ambiance that feels hipper than other old school places. Steak and food are great although the city has too many great steakhouse so hard to stand out. Noise levels are fairly high. -

Came here for steak and their charcoal grilled 10 oz filet did not disappoint! We tried their Bernaise, peppercorn, and Boucher blue hollandaise sauces for the steak, and we thought the blue hollandaise one was the best. For appetizer, their charcoal roasted scallops were sooo good!!! They were absolute perfection so make sure you order them bec your taste buds will thank you.We love love love their mocktails, more specifically their Steady Pete’s and Incognito. The Steady Pete’s, which was my husband’s favorite, looked almost like a beer bec they serve it in a mug with froth on top and has that refreshing taste courtesy of ginger brew. I, on the other hand, was so enthralled by their Incognito drink which was basically their non-alcoholic version of champagne; this was so so so good! Bravo! For desserts, we had their pear upside down which was surpassingly really good and then we opted for their sticky toffee sundae (instead of their sticky toffee pudding) which were perfect ending to an awesome meal. -

My husband came here on a date night! It was by far one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in the city. Worth the drive in from the island. The food, service and ambience were just fantastic! I seriously can’t wait to go back!!! Hawksmoor has gained for lifers! -
Review 37 (2023-03-24 - Rating: 5)
Its particularly hard to rate a steakhouse in NYC, it may depend on what mood you have on the day, how your taste buds are ready for the meat, and how lucky you are with that meat. The meat quality can be quite different during the visit. Well, this place easily hits the top 10 on my list although it is a chain. The place was majestic; the food was well prepared; cocktails were great; and the service was pleasant! A few items to watch out for: the price is relatively high in the city considering the portion, the steak and cocktail; the giant sea salt particle makes the steak extremely salty and some spots; and the desserts are way too sweet; the place is unusually noisy, and it may not be a place for you if you are looking for a place for a conversation. -
Review 38 (2022-12-31 - Rating: 4)
The food was amazing! Highly recommended the potted beef and bacon starter. Waiter was very friendly but I feel like he missed out on opportunities to making the experience even better, like suggesting sauces for our steaks or even recommendeding other steaks when we asked. Make sure to save room for dessert they are all amazing. -

Francesco Caracciolo (1752-1799) said that There are in England sixty different religions and only one sauce.Years earlier Voltaire also had observed that England is a country of sects. An Englishman, being free, may take to heaven whichever path appeals to him. But England has only one sauce. That sauce one can argue is the gravy that comes with the traditional Sunday Roast. In our greater NYC region the best place to sample the quintessential Sunday Roast, and the iconic gravy is Hawksmoor (109 East 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010)Bone Marrow with Onion (another very English thing) was so good that trying to rank it is pointless.Yorkshire Pudding, trimmings etc all were all good, especially with a slight drizzle of the gravy.Roasted Potatoes did have proof of life but were off. Maybe if I had got there earlier, things would have been different. Note to self, never be late for a Sunday Roast.Sticky Toffee Pudding was exceptional. It may not be the best Sunday Roast on planet earth, but liking it is like believing in love even when it hurts once in a while. You dont ever give up on a Sunday Roast. Hawksmoor is a good place to start if you have never experienced it. -

Review 41 (2023-06-23 - Rating: 5)
My favorite steakhouse experience ever! Get a steak off the chalkboard, and don’t miss the cream spinach. The desserts are legit too.The real sleeper hit of Hawksmoor however, are the cocktails. I’ve been back just to have a drink in the front room, and boy are they just top tier! That sour cherry Negroni, woo wee.NYC steakhouses are generally limited menu, rude service affairs that tend to be under flavored and overpriced. For a steakhouse to have great service, elite drinks and desserts on top of high quality meat, and that too for a relatively reasonable price? This place rocks. -

We ordered the scallops, ribeye steak, mushrooms, mashed potatos and ceaser salad. The steak and scallops were probably the best weve ever had. We ended up going back a second time during our 4 day trip, it was that good! -

I went for dinner with some friends that came to visit and we had an amazing dinner, we tried so many appetizers but my favorite one was the steak tartare, so flavorful and the steak was so soft, also the bone marrow was absolutely delicious, the steak was really good and I like how they recommend the amount of stake you have to order according to how many people is eating, the fries were incredible, and the drinks were very good too! (Don’t skip the dessert). The service Vinny gave us was beyond. I’m definitely coming back! Love this steak house! -
Review 45 (2022-05-31 - Rating: 4)
Once you enter the main dining hall, the place is a buzzing place. Its dark interiors and tables has taken some cues from your traditional steak house, but with a touch of mid century furnishings.Let’s start out with the food. It was top notch. The porter house was season and seared perfectly. The potted beef and bacon, looked like a heart attack about to happen because of the fat build up, but once it all came together it was a delicious dish. The size of the sides looked like it serves only one but if you get a few of them it can definitely be shared. We would highly recommend the decadent peanut butter louis for dessert. Our service was ok, it’s not your old school steakhouse lifer waiters, but the timing of the food was efficient and they checked our table regularly. The only really down point of the night was our cocktails. There was either too much or too little of the ingredients.Overall food was good, service was fast and it didn’t feel like they were forcing you to spend more than you wanted. -

Went here for dinner with my wife and kids and have to say will be coming back. The appetizers were great. Highly recommend the oysters with bone marrow and the scallops. Steak selection was a good one and they do this by weight so you can gauge base don the number of people you have in your party. It came out hot and correctly cooked to a perfect medium. For dessert do not forget the Toffee pudding. Has to be the best one I have ever tried. Came out hot and moist.Drink menu impressed as well with some atypical cocktails.Overall a great dinner. It does get pricey but this is a high end steakhouse so this is expected but well worth it. -

I have been wanting to come here since I watched Eater last year, yet I couldn’t find a buddy who is willing to try out steak on a Saturday noon so I went alone.Let me start out by saying wow! I had steak tartare for appetizer with “more the merrier” grated cheese. The tartare had a bit of chew and is quiet unique. The egg yolk hidden in there is orange and the sauce is a bit citrusy and sweet, perfectly cutting though the beefy tartare and fatty flavorful yolk. The tartare paired with three crunchy bread/biscuit slices. I particularly remember in the Eater series Chef Matt was sampling his own creation of tartare with bread and he went, “Definitely gonna be on the menu tonight”.For entrée I had a 12oz ribeye with four sides: bone marrow, creamed spinach, carrots, and mushrooms. I originally wanted sirloin on the bone because both Chef Matt and Chef Paddy said it is their fav. Unfortunately for me the smallest cut for sirloin on the bone today is 30+oz and though I just came out of a 20hr fasting, there is no way I can finish it. All the bone-in options are over 24oz so i opted for ribeye, still packed with flavors and cooked to medium-rare perfection. The thing I appreciate is the char and the seasoning. Charcoal + fat = Maillard reaction = Delicious, simple as that. Then to the sides, geeezz everyone please please please try their carrots. I had to ask for their secret recipe additions or else this place had ruined me forever. Texture wise, the carrots’ skin hold them intact, yet when I bite into them, they are so creamy and almost melt in my mouth like the mushed potatoes my mom used to make for me. They are topped with some crispy herbs (maybe parsley?) and added a perfect hint of crunchiness. Flavor wise, I taste mustard, garlic, and a bit of booze flavor (the last note came as a surprise and it lingered on my tongue for such a long time.)I tasted some ginger flavor in the creamed spinach, maybe some lemongrass. A classic spin from what I am used to taste in creamed spinach. The mushrooms are garlicky and seasoned well. Umami and yummy. The bone marrow are soooo fatty and so fulfilling. When I was young whenever we went out to eat anything with beef bones, my mom would always give me a straw just to suck up all the bone marrow. So I ate these two halves of bone marrow I was more than happy. CAUTION: it is extremely fulfilling so definitely share if you can.The dessert sticky toffee pudding, omg the part which I needed to close my eyes to savor every bit of the flavor. It is way over my expectations: it is not overly sweet and it has a bit of the chew in the cake. The center is soft and the toffee sauce and the ice cream went so well with the pudding, which almost had a hint of corn/grain aroma. Though I was stuffed 10/10 from eating entrées, but girls have a separate stomach for sweets, don’t we?Lastly, kudos to John and Chef Paddy, who are in house today. I was drenched in their hospitality and felt very welcomed and happy during my lunch. I left the place feeling ecstatic and extremely satisfied. Will come back for the Sunday roast next time, and definitely with a couple or more friends.Cheers mate! -

Literally the best steak I’ve ever had but the bone marrow was slightly undercooked. The atmosphere was nice but it was almost too loud to communicate with the waitress lol. All in all I would definitely comeback between the delicious food and relaxing vibes! -

My colleagues and I came here as a special occasion. I had seen the Eater video on YouTube and had to make a trip. The staff was excellent and attentive. The dining room was pretty stunning to walk into, with its grand dome and classy booths. They make it feel both sophisticated but also down to earth. The famous beef fat fries were addictive and the other sides were good as well. The steaks definitely had the characteristic charcoal flavor on the outside, but not as much crust as I would have liked. The chateaubriand was a standout and the dessert was definitely a highlight as well. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion. -

Good vibe and good tasted great. Dry aged porterhouse 34oz had a great taste and cooked perfect. They have a set number of oz cuts, so we couldnt get anything under 34oz since they were out. Spinach side was simple and good, Drinks were good. Brought out a small chocolate sampler for my birthday. Only complaint was that service towards the end when we were done and wanting to pay was really slow, but our server was running around and seems more like a slightly short staffed situation more than anything else. -

Had a very good time with friends here. The oysters are ultra fresh. The meats are good but I thought a bit too overcooked. I ordered my ribeye as medium (which is what they recommend) but thought it was too well done. The creamy spinach side is very good as well as the fries cooked on beef fat. Special nod to the ambience. Very nice place they have here. Well restored, and decorated. All is in very good taste so to invite a special someone to a special occasion. Price is high though $$$$ -

Very delicious steak- definitely a place you want to go with 4 people or more. we got the 40 oz porterhouse to share, and it was cooked perfectly. the seafood was shockingly good. we LOVED the scallops- it may have been the best dish we had there. the sides I will say were a little disappointing. I didnt like the Brussels (soggy, not crispy), and the beef fat fries didnt have the wow factor. however, the steak made up for it. the atmosphere is unmatched- the dining room is stunning and brings you to a different era in time. the cocktails were also very good- i got the full fat old fashioned and it was amazing. -

We’re not fond of steakhouses, however, for my wife’s birthday, we decided to try the award winning Hawksmoor, a British steakhouse, by recommendation of Eater. It was far beyond our expectations. The cocktail bar is outstanding with new twists on old world drinks from by gone eras, as well as the classics. They had 20 plus types of cocktails and this sure kept us thirsty. The sophisticated atmosphere brings you into another era with the reimagining of the historic New York United Charities Building. We ordered the chateaubriand, along with pop-overs, steak tartare, roasted veg and sautéed spinach. Everything was amazing and flavorful. We certainly would recommend this amazing steakhouse for your next occasion. -

Wonderful dining experience. The full fat old fashioned was the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. My rump steak was incredibly flavorful and my wife’s New York strip was juicy and tender. The mac cheese was top notch and so was the creamed spinach. This is one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve ever had. -

We had a very enjoyable experience at Hawksmoor NYC with our family. The drinks, wine, and service was incredible. We had the Ribeye and Porterhouse with creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, carrots, and fries, which were extraordinary. Lobster was also fantastic. We had every dessert on the menu and there are no words to describe how delicious they were-- we LOVED the dining experience and would highly recommend it. -

For a British expat like myself, who had spent over a decade studying and working in London. Learning that a British Steak-House institution - Hawksmoor has opened up a branch across the ocean in New York was a revelation. To pay them a visit for ‘Sunday Roast‘ and Sticky Toffee Pudding is a no brainer. As well, for steak lovers like my son and myself, it will also provide us with an unique opportunity to savor grass fed, dry aged beef steak being grilled over Paraguay Charcoal, a special feature that Hawksmoor is known for. This frequently praised variety of charcoal could generate a whopping intense 950 degree heat!.....compared to other normal commercial 600+ degree varietals.! The unique property and characteristic also supposed to create a much faster and better crust, locking in more of the essential interior juices. Our party ordered a selection of our favorite starters that included…’ more oysters ‘ ( with Scottish Bonnet topping ), Steak Tartare, Roasted. Bone-marrow…etc. We also splitted our order into a few ‘ Sunday Roasts with all the trimmings ‘ plus a couple of locally raised, grass-fed 14 oz Rib-Eye and NY Striploin, both requested ‘rare‘.Sides of French fries cooked in beef suet and Creamed spinach were also musts!.....though the former were only double fried compared to the ‘Triple Fried’ versions available in the British Isles! The roasts, slow cooked over charcoal, were done very well. The gravy, beefy and flavourful. The two steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked rare as per our request. Nice ‘ beef ‘ flavor! Portions of the roasts were huge with most of the gi-normous Yorkshire Pudding left untouched!A few sad notes and disappointments. They did not offer ‘ Mushy Peas ‘ which my daughter was so looking forward to. Secondly, we were so full, there was no room for Sticky Toffee Pudding and English Trifle!! Sigh!!ALL in all, a wonderful and enjoyable family lunch!! -

I visited Hawksmoor for an early dinner on a Saturday, with no reservation, and sat at the bar.The bartender, Jorge, was quick to greet us, and throughout our two hour visit was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. He also let me know about a couple of amazing and rare whiskey options they had that were not on the menu. Our appetizer was the scallops, and they were absolutely melt in your mouth perfect.Dinner consisted of the 10 oz filet, medium rare. I had the peppercorn sauce and my friend had the bone marrow sauce. We were both delighted. The dry aged steaks were cooked brilliantly, tender and juicy and flavorful but with a perfect caramelized sear. We both happily ate every bite.We shared two sides, creamed spinach and mashed with gravy. There was enough for each of us, and both were delicious. We both remarked at the amazing flavor of the spinach. It was delicious. Finally for dessert we shared a toffee pudding, and again, it was perfect. All in all, one of the finest dining experiences I have enjoyed during my ten years here in NYC. I cant recommend it highly enough. Im very eager to return! -

I dined at Hawksmoor a few weeks ago and finally had time to write up a review. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful and the architecture when you walk into the dining area is quite impressive and eye-catching. The staff were all very friendly and attentive throughout dinner. The drinks we ordered were all amazing, (possibly one of the best old fashioned’s I’ve had in recent memory) and the quality of bartender was definitely one of the highlights of our meal. The appetizers we ordered such as the scallops and Caesar salad were good but nothing overly impressive. I ordered the chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly but all of my guests agreed their meals tended to lean on the saltier side. We were warned ahead of time that the ‘sides’ would be small but I was surprised how small they really were, we had to order more sides halfway through the meal so that is something to keep in mind.Overall I would say the meal was fine, drinks were excellent, and the ambience of the place is very nice, but is quite expensive. -

The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home. The portions are just right, allowing you to enjoy a variety of dishes without feeling overwhelmed. The food is delicious, with standout dishes like the steak tartare and scallops, and the steaks are cooked to perfection. It’s a fantastic spot for a memorable meal. -

OMG! If you don’t take this review serious, you haven’t experienced the deep dive into one of the premier gourmet fine dining spots in NYC.We had an absolute wonderful experience from the first step into this establishment. We were so pleased with the service and the meal, which started with incredible oysters and highly recommend the Vietnamese and Scotch Bonnet versions. The steelhead tartare was so good, beets with horseradish were delicious, the scallops were slap somebody good; oh yeah can’t forget the bone marrow and pork beef appetizers.WOW, what an evening and highly recommend getting the server Gabriel, he’s fantastic as well as the bartenders and in house wine expert sommelier whose name slips me. We even bought a cookbook to and got it signed by everyone. Thanks so much Hawksmoor, we’ll be back!~ Harpswell, Maine -

Food, service, portions, and atmosphere were phenomenal! Exceeded all expectations. Saw the YouTube video and was definitely interested. The experience was amazong across the board! Dinner for 2 was impeccable.Superb restaurant, cocktail bar, and one of the best new steakhouses in town. Charcoal grilled steak is definitely unique!Drinks were refreshing and unique. Cocktails were fantast in flavor. Forgot what it was but you cant go wrong especially with the cocktail expert ready to explain every drink on the menu.We had the rump tartar and this was probably the best tartar Ive had any where. The choice of the cut is meaty and beefy. But tender with nice mouth feel. The grated Parmigiano and raw.egg yolk gave the dish a very luxurious texture. But also surprisingly light. The oysters with bone marrow was equally tasty. Fresh oysters baked under a layer of bone marrow. Great combo that you didnt know you needed. The lamb was okay. This was a bit tough. Definitely not the best appetizer here. It was okay at best.We had a 34oz ribsteak to share. Waitress promoted informed us that the bone is about 10-15% of the weight. This was definitely appreciated. This makes 15 Oz per person. Steak was tender, flavorful, and super excellent from the charcoal grill. Thick, beefy, and tender. This was EXCELLENT. One of the best streaks weve had in town i woukd say.We had the beef fat fries, lemon garlic spinach, and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese were super good. Not sure what he blend was, but this was a 5 cheese blend. Super cheesy. Super creamy. The fries were crunch on the outside and soft in the inside.Highly recommend the desserts! These were amazing to behold and just as excellent in flavor. We had the Meyers Lemon Bomb and the Peanut Butter Louie. Peabut butter was super decadent like a really chocolaty peanutty Reeses and it vame with sorbet which definitely cut the richness a bit. The Meyers lemon bomb was beautiful to behold and just as excellent in the explosion of fresh lemon flavor! The entire meal was meticulously attended to by everyone from drinks, to clearing the table, to the waitress. It was great service from the the entrance all the way through til the end of the meal. The food were excellent. The charcoal steak was definitely the highlight and the desserts were definitely a close second. And cocktails are all worth your time. -

Watch the YouTube on them and was hooked!!! Wanted to try the bone marrow and there steak fries!!! Went to book a month a head and she said no we need to book month and a week ahead!!! Wow that booked lol!!! Showed and it was pretty packed and so loud!!! Waited to get seated!!! Took some time for a waitress to come. Ask us the drink order and then 15 minutes later drinks lol!! Waitress came for the order and we waited for a good half hour for the appetizer to come and no bread!?! Bread and better is extra lol!!! The appetizers where off the hook!!! Pork belly off the hook!!! The for main course… I ordered the chef picked 22oz rib eye steak medium rare the outside over cooked middle was perfect but when I got to the middle it was to tough and too much tendons!!! Super old cow!! Couldn’t eat it!!! The bacon was good like PL little on the salty side and the bone marrow first one was seasoned good and test ok on the steak but the bigger one was not good and was still bloody and test like raw fat!!! The Cream of spinach was ok!! The fries was ok and. It steak fries and they never told us they change that!! Told the waitress next time the do a chef pick for steak don’t pick one that was a old cow and call it a chefs pick!!! Then manager came by and said he look at it and his like your right!!! He ask me if he can do anything!?!! I was like is fine!!! He said that he will take the steak off the bill!! Manager was great!! The desert was off the hook!!! -

Really solid steakhouse with an attentive and friendly staff. The bone barrow gravy was a fantastic accompaniment to the steak and builds on that incredible beef flavor. The creamed spinach was great as well, not too creamy so you get more spinach taste and texture as opposed to being weighed down with too much cream -

We attended a special occasion with a party of 10. We had cocktails at the bar where the drinks were tasty with a nice pour. So much so, you had to have another. Their bourbon cocktail with butter is something you have to taste, especially if you like bourbon. Who knew the clarified butter gave it a nice taste beyond explanation. I will tell you this our party had requested a sip of my drink where everyone ordered one for themselves. We were than escorted to a private room away. The room sheltered us from the main dining room, where it does get noisy. This room if you can get it is a gem. Our party controlled the volume of music and lightning. The numerous appetizers included, fresh oysters, steak tartare, fried cauliflower with Indian spice, mini Rubens just to name a few. All were tasty. Our entrees included a grilled porterhouse, Chateaubriand and halibut with the best cream spinach, glazed carrots, etc. The porterhouse was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The halibut was perfect and flaky crust. The Chateaubriand was to lean for me but, was delicious. The wine selection was extensive and gems. Desserts were decadent. Not to sweet but, the enough for you to take another bite. Be prepared to pay for a culinary experience. -

Now THIS is a steak dinner. Beautifully decorated space, meticulously executed cocktails, and a reasonably-priced (you know this isnt a cheap meal if youre coming to dine here) set of steaks. Love the chalkboard showing which large cuts are still available. Desserts are far from an afterthought - definitely save room. -

Such a phenomenal space for such delicious good. The scallops starter and sides of carrots in cider, garlic portobellos, and sourdough bread are the equal of the mains. Yes, the sirloin done medium-rare-minus is fantastic, but so too the fried shrimp that my newly pescatarian wife had (last time we were here she was still a carnivore). And the cocktails at the bar were amazing. But I must say I never enjoyed a Gibson as much as I did this time, -12° with a hibiscus-pickled onion, alongside my steak. -
Review 75 (2022-05-14 - Rating: 5)
The steak is so so good here. We had a bottle of red to share between us girls, the sommelier recommended something fruity and rather tart blend. Get here early, bc the cuts run out very fast. By the time we left, only much larger oz sizes remained. Think it’s good for larger groups later in the night. Good place to have celebration. The bone marrow oysters are really good to start. We got the 10 oz ribeye and 28 oz chateaubriand to share. Honestly think it’s cooked more medium than medium rare for ribeye but delicious nonetheless. The bearnaise sauce was great, we also got the bone marrow gravy. They do add a lot of salt to the meat, so prepare to drink lots of water. Sides were ok nothing amazing, we got beef fat fries and creamed spinach.Would def come back to try the other cuts like porterhouse for example. Did not care for the desserts. We got sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter Louis but overall strange; pudding too salty and Louis wayyyy too sweet. Would skip dessert actually and just eat more steak. -

The food is generally very good here, but not exceptional. It is, however, grossly overpriced. For the most part, you are paying for the real estate, and for this reason, I would be hesitant to return. It was a birthday dinner, and the staff lit a couple of candles on the dessert and left it to us to sing Happy Birthday. Come on!! For almost $600 for 3 people, they couldnt come together to sing Happy Birthday. Most drinks, including wine, start at about $22 per glass and go up from there. A 5 oz glass of store bought cranberry juice set us back $7. And the cocktails are nothing to write home about either. To their credit, they charcoal grill the steaks perfectly, and the halibut was fine. Most steaks start at $70+. The ribeye could have been a thicker cut with less fat. If money is not a consideration, then by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, I think the ridiculous price of $600 could buy several decent meals elsewhere. One last little irritation was our discovery at home that the staff packed up the wrong leftovers in our doggy bag. We got someones porterhouse, and someone else got our ribeye. For $40 million, we expect Aaron Judge to catch those fly balls to center field. For $600 , I think Hawksmoor should be able to pack up the right food to go home with. Dont you think? I will come back though to try their famed hamburger, only served at the bar, -

We went for the Sunday roast lunch and it was exceptional. Im originally British so its something I grew up on and have missed living in the NYC area. We had coffee and tea for dessert— they gave me a cute little teapot and my partner’s coffee looked great!Be aware for people with nut allergies that the entire dessert list is marked may-contain. They have lots of dessert cocktails, teas, and coffee options though! -

Great addition to the NYC steakhouse scene, as it offers both an excellent bar program and a different slant on typical steakhouse food. While you’ll find many of the usual suspects on the menu, you’ll also find an assortment of different cuts and lesser-known dishes. They offer all of their prime cuts by weight, which are displayed on chalkboards throughout the dining room. The cocktail menu is extensive, and is superior to a typical steak restaurant’s offerings. The food is pricey, but is well presented and tasty. -

The Hawksmoor exceeded expectations. Im not a steak person but my partner is and we wanted to go somewhere to celebrate the life of our catHermione who had passed away one year ago. When we made the reservation we put that down as the reason and Im so glad we did. Thegeneral manager and several of the staff came by to acknowledge our occasion and talk to us about our cat. Maybe that sounds silly to you, butit meant the world to us. When they brought our dessert we ordered, it had Long live Hermione written in chocolate on the plate and it wassuch a nice touch. The entire staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful our entire visit. We ended up spending over three hours there as we thoroughly enjoyedourselves with the amazing cocktails, wines, and bubblies we drank. The food was phenomenal, too! We got the potted beef and bacon and sourdough bread with cultured butter to start and were already blown away from just those! For dinner, we got the roasted heritage chicken which was utterly astounding and full of flavor. My partner got the filet steak and we also got many sides to share. Definitely get some sides to share for the table; you won’t be sorry! Also make sure to save room for dessert. The tributes are to die for and the sticky toffee sundae was a dream— all homemade by the restaurant.I can’t say enough good things about our visit to Hawksmoor. We’ll be returning and you should certainly pay them a visit if you want good food, good drinks, and a divine experience. -

Saw a YouTube video on Eater 2 years ago about Hawksmoor and really wanted to try this place . Their attention to detail on the video was very impressive so my expectations were super high going in. I am in NYC a few times a year although I live in DC so on my last trip I made reservations. We ordered the 38 oz bone in ribeye and tbh it was truly exceptional. I make pretty good steaks myself and eat out at some of the best steakhouses in DC and Hawksmoor’s selection trumped any steakhouse I have ever ate at in my life. The left overs in my hotel tasted good even when cold the next day.The wait time was slightly long but they comped us with two free sides which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. All in it was money well spent as with most things in life you get what you pay for and these cuts of meat are definitely worth the price. Will definitely go back again next time I am in NYC.Before you go definitely YouTube the Eater video as you will appreciate the work that goes into the process of serving you. -

Fantastic place. Service 10/10, food 10/10.Had the ribeye with fries and a beef dripping sauce. From the UK and been to the Manchester one so had to try this place. You can’t get a better steak in NYC in my opinion.Pretty pricy but you definitely get what you pay for. -

An unbelievably positive experience. This place is truly special and quickly jumped to the top of my personal list of favorite meals of all time and possibly the best steak I’ve ever had. There’s so much to say and so little time:Drinks- I had the Hawksmoor Calling and Full Fat Old-Fashioned. Both were incredible and unique, with the Calling being a super smooth blend and the Full-Fat having an amazing buttery aftertaste.Appetizers- we had the charcoal-roasted scallops, steak tartare, and roasted bone marrow. All were absolutely wonderful, but our favorite had to be the tartare. It was created with such care and with a really balanced profile of flavor between all of the ingredients. It was a real treat. Second-place were the scallops; they didn’t last long on the plate. I only wished there were a few more of them! For dinner I had an uncut 14oz Rib-Eye. Between their unique charcoal grill and the dry age process, this thing was divine and the most perfectly prepared steak I could ask for. There was a wonderful charred aftertaste that wasn’t overwhelming, and any extra fat was dry aged and matured to the point of breaking down just enough to combine with the rest of the protein in the cut. So finally & most importantly, this creates a situation where you can eat every single bit of the cut while also noticing some uniformity and some variation as you go; versus having to cut out cartilage or hard fat with any other inferior steak.I finished off with a desert; the Peanut Butter Louis, which was like a perfected Snickers Bar. There was a sea-salt quality in the taste that when combined with the chocolate and peanut butter was balanced carefully between umami and overwhelming. Really delicately crafted, but so good if you enjoy salty flavors. Finally, I have to mention one other thing: the professionalism and passion. The love and respect for the work going on here was palpable. I spent a lot of time during dinner watching the chefs, wait staff, bartenders, and managers, and when you see passion in every movement, you know you’re in a truly special place. Thank you so much for the opportunity and experience during our visit. I had been waiting a while to try it and will be honored and excited to come back! -

The ribeye has a delicous smokey flavor that beats others (looking @ you luger). with a side of rich marrow on some complimentary crispy toast, decadent fries, and succulent sprouts & bacon. topped off with a deconstructed lemon meringue pie and sorbet. we washed it down with a bottle of ruby red. oh and recommend a cocktail to get it all started. a great night overall. -

Note this is not your stuffy white linen steak house. This place is laid back and vibrant, but don’t let that fool you. The food here is top shelf.Staff is very attentive and accommodating. If you are looking for a fun place for large or small groups this is a great find. -

I had a fantastic experience at Hawksmoor. I was greeted pleasantly and seated at the bar while we waited for our table to be prepared. Our drinks were expertly prepared and delicious. They are true Mixologists. I recommend the Tom & Jerez, just try it. Thank me later. We were informed our table was ready and escorted to our seats. The bar tab was transfered to our table, illiminating the need for multiple card charges throughout the night. We were seated and greeted by friendly staff who were very helpful. We had the Scallops as an apitizer with the sourdough bread and butter. Those were delicious, perfectly prepared and not too filling. For the main course my wife had the 10oz Strip Steak and I had the 24oz Porterhouse. Kindly observe the included photos for a better understanding of how delicious my steak was. Need I say more? All in all my wife and I had a fantastic time. Everyone there works hard and the establishment is a fantastic venue for anybody who loves steak. I highky recommend this restaurant. -

My husband and I were looking for a great place to celebrate our anniversary. We spent some time on the internet looking for a restaurant that served chateau briand. We came across Hawksmoor, looked into their history and decided to give them a try. What a great decision....we had a phenomenal meal, steak cooked and prepared perfectly and the staff was wonderful. We are already planning to return with some of our friends that appreciate the intricacies of steak preparation as much as we do. The decor is the cherry on top. -

Went here for an amazing birthday dinner. They have a beautiful dining room and the food is phenomenal. I highly recommend the pork belly. The server was also very helpful and guided me to the most delicious cocktail (the Earl of Houston), so smooth and perfectly balanced. Overall a great place to spend a special evening. -

I was eager to visit and try out the dry aged, charcoal grilled beef; and it was absolutely exquisite. The place itself is a piece of beauty, with a lot of history going on inside the building. Oh, and dont forget the fried Louisiana shrimp starter, the tartar sauce is just out of this world! -

The place is overall terrific, food amazing and place is clean. JJ the server is very courteous and attentive, give a complete explanation on some of our concern (food and ingredients allergy).I will definitely recommend the place to my friends and relatives. Thank you all to have my birthday celebrated in this place. -

Food- 9.45/10Service- 8.5/10Atmosphere- 7/10 (very loud music, conversation almost impossible at table of 3)Overall great experience. Flavor of dry aged steaks cooked on charcoal was amazing. All the sides were great, dessert might be the hidden jewel. Sticky toffee pudding might rank in top 2 desserts I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. This was round one. I will be back! -

Believe the hype. An amazing restaurant. Food was top quality, staff were great. It is expensive but worth it for a treat :) Only slight downside is it is very loud and quite dark in there. A few people reading menus with their phone lights. -

If you want perfect steak visit Hawksmoor. We ordered Rib-eye, Strip, and Chateaubriand they were all cooked perfectly but most importantly flavor was excellent. Cocktails also were amazing, I recommend the sour cherry Negroni. -

Fantastic meal. Everything is top notch from the still in shell scallops that were phenomenal to the incredible châteaubriand to the amazing sticky toffee pudding. One of the best meals I’ve ever had!!! -

Definitely recommend their Sunday Roast! For their steaks I would give it 4 stars (get their steaks off the chalkboard). However, their gravy and trimmings which I 100% recommend to add makes it 5 stars! Additionally, they have an amazing selection of cocktails (my favorite thus far for steakhouses) I highly recommend their ultimate vesper if you want something with a kick, or if you simply want something a little more subtle their earl of Houston is an absolute must try! -
Review 117 (2024-12-06 - Rating: 5)
We had the filet and strip (since there was only one 38oz porterhouse left at 8pm), along with beef dipping fries and creamed spinach. For dessert we had the peanut butter louis. Everything was very tasty. The prices were also ok for the quality of the food, but $9.50 for a bottle of water is a bit too pricey. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and allowed us to choose our seats. The service was good, but nothing special. We felt a little disadvantaged because the next table was also told the story of Hawksmoor and the restaurant and it felt like more time was taken. We got our check with the last spoonful of dessert, which made you feel like you should leave right away. The dining room is very nicely decorated and has nice architecture, its a bit noisy although we even had a table in the corner. All in all, I would still recommend it. -

A real 5 star dining if you’re into steak 🥩. The service was great and personal and they race if you as if you are his own guest. The steaks were exceptionally great and ranked-to be one of my best ever. The sides are not to the level of the main dish but still great nevertheless. I loved the experience and recommend it. The main drawback is the noise level as it is an old wood hall so the sounds from the guests is really high. -

Great ambiance , Cocktails, Hospitality, Apps and Entrees - A 5-star experience from start to finish! I was there Thursday evening and it was busy to say the least! It is so refreshing to see a place thriving even as we come out of the pandemic in NYC and it makes sense based on my experience! A big shoutout to Ana the manager, who really elevated our experience!PS. Do yourself a favor and grab a drink at the bar and order the Reuben Nuggets which are only on the bar menu! I had two orders before dinner because they were that good!Keep up the great work Hawksmoor! -

Excellent British steakhouse. The main dining area is in a historic space with ceilings that remind you of grand central. The Yorkshire pudding were on point and reminded me of the ones that my grandmother (who was from Yorkshire) used to make. Their is also a creative and well varied cocktail list that has something for whatever you fancy. Will be returning soon and recommending to friends. -

The food here is incredible! The pork belly appetizer was the most tender pork Ive ever had. Im not into creamed spinach but this was so good. It tasted like a mixture of basil and spinach and not overly creamy. The mac and cheese was great and so was the ceasar salad. I had the strip steak with the bone marrow gravy which is a highly recommend. Food was so good that I forgot to take pictures. Bring your wallet because you are paying for quality and it does not disappoint. -
Review 123 (2024-01-04 - Rating: 5)
The steaks were really good but I was not very impressed with their sides. The Bone Marrow with onions was mostly onions only, the fries were pretty average. The service was really good and the staff was very friendly. -

Such a chic place for dinner! I brought a group of friends here and they (we) loved it. The staff was elegant and brought us next level service, the food was delicious, and of course the steak was delicious. The scallops were recommend and if they weren’t would have missed out the most amazing dish ever. This place reminds you that you are in nyc ❤️ -

More like 3.5 really. The place itself is gorgeous, beautiful restaurant. Service was great, knowledgeable and friendly. Cocktails were also really good. But the steaks... Were just underwhelming, and all cuts were over the desired temp :( its worth a visit, but we really wanted to be blown away and werent. -

The large steaks are all on a blackboard to show stock. The chateaubriand was all gone when we arrived but fortunately was refreshed while we were having cocktails and our party was able to secure the only 40 Oz Chateaubriand available for the remainder of the night. The steak was melt in your mouth delicious and the char was brilliant and flavorful. It was a serendipitous and delicious occasion. Every appetizer and side was also exquisitely crafted, special consideration to the scallops. Worth every penny, and I must also call out the reasonable 35 dollar corkage fee for those inclined to bring their own wine. The gorgeous desserts (photo attached) were as good as they looked -

Our waiter Simon was caring, intuitive, and provided fantastic banter. This was probably the best meal we had in NYC. The steak was unreal but the sides (beef fat fries !!!), desserts(pb louis !!!), and cocktails (earl of houston !!!) were some of the greatest bites ever. Go early and ask for Simon - he’s a real one! -

We went for the Sunday roast, and oh boy did it deliver. Yorkshire: delicious. Beef roast: delicious. Roasted garlic: get in!Hot tip: if you are also a gravy fiend, ask for extra gravy when placing your order. The gravy was quite possibly the best part of the meal (complete with bone marrow in the gravy), and we all made our way through two servings of gravy each. No one likes a Yorkshire in search of gravy.Only a couple minus points for the potatoes, they were not as fluffy inside as we would’ve liked. -

Exceptional service and waitstaff. My steak was overcooked but I ate it. Very tasty but I have definitely had better for this price. When Im spending over $150 per person I expect to be 100% satisfied.I would give 75% satisfied. But overall a nice experience. -

A splurge but well worth it! We passed on amazing appetizers to save room for dessert. We had the filet and rump steak and both came out perfectly cooked. Sides of beef fat fries and Mac & Cheese and they were equal to the steaks. We had the sticky toffee pudding and Peanut Butter Louis(think of a snickers but 1000 times better) Both desserts were worth forgoing appetizers! Excellent drink and wine by the glass selections. Service was professional, kind and not intrusive. Dined here twice before and I will for sure be back… -

Menus were explained beautifully and clearly. Knowledge of the waiter was on point. You definitely feel like royalty In this restaurant. You do spend a pretty penny but I think it is absolutely worth every dollar. You can either pay by oz for steaks or by the everyday menu items. The Rib eye and Skirt steaks were absolutely amazing. Apps were bbq pork belly. Like butter. Fingerling potatoes were pretty good and beef fat fried omg so good! I forgot to take a pic of my steak but it was amazing!! Ornella, our waitress, made our experience at Hawksmoor unforgettable. She was warm, kind and gave perfect recommendations. Hawksmoor has gotten much more expensive than the last time I dined there (however, their martini is still top notch), and Ornella gave us great advice about how much food to order, and even sent out some special treats for us since we were celebrating. As always, the venue + ambiance was beautiful. The mac & cheese was extraordinary, and the toffee ice cream and rice pudding desserts were flawless. Will be back! -
