This restaurant has such a lovely, intimate vibe and the food is even better than the ambiance. We ordered a bunch of things to share and nothing disappointed. I think my favorite was the mac and cheese and the artichoke salad. The dinner was delicious and I cannot wait to visit this perfect neighborhood spot again!! -

Was first introduced to this place a few days ago and have since gone twice! Absolutely love the atmosphere and the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Have tried a few things and have been disappointed at NO points. The bruschetta and tuna tartare are wonderful. The shrimp salad is delightful! The burger hits. The fries are great. I could go on and on. While they have a smaller menu, they do what they do really well. A perfect place for a catch-up with friends, date night, an evening of me-time - whatever you want! Love that theres no TV and just light jazz playing - it really works to eliminate distractions and means you can hear your friends! I loved my experience so much Im actually gonna be back here next week but what a delightful meal - definitely working this into my stable UES rotation. -

The BEST mac & cheese in the neighborhood. My favorite is with truffle oil. Pro tip: Order it well done so its extra crispy! -
Review 4 (2024-03-25 - Rating: 5)
The cozy atmosphere of this place is unmatched! Seating is limited so come early or make a reservation because the food here is fantastic. I loved my burger — the thick patty, sourced from Ottomanelli’s (for local UESers), had quality you could taste. It’s served on an English muffin which is unique and totally works! This was one of the few burgers where I didn’t feel absolutely stuffed/heavy after eating it which was refreshing. Highly recommend ordering it with the white cheddar cheese! The low lights, soft jazz, wooden furnishings, delicious food, and welcoming service make this place an easy 5 star 🙌🏼 -

First of all, when youre in NYC on the Upper East Side, this is a *must go* spot. Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is exceptional. The owners are locals who embrace their customers and constantly consider their feedback. Perfect atmosphere, and an eclectic menu worth trying. Consider me a regular at this spot! -
Review 6 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Heidi’s House is my go to restaurant in the neighborhood where there is always a welcoming feeling by the staff and owner. The food is always delicious with different tantalizing specials all the time. I am always learning more about different wines and craft beers from the bartender. I would have to say that Heidi’s is consistently comfortable for me and my friends. I would highly recommend the paella and mac & cheese with a Sunday beer. -
Review 7 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Always look forward to dining at Heidi’s. Everything from the food to the ambiance to the service is absolutely delightful. Make sure you try the pasta special (ESPECIALLY if it’s a gnocchi dish). The meat specials are also always incredibly tender (short ribs are unbeatable when they have them). Sounds basic, but their guac and hummus are also the best around. -
Review 8 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
My favorite upper east side neighborhood gem! Not only do they have my favorite pear cider but the menu is all of my comfort cozy favorites. This bar has immaculate vibes you want for a night out! The staff and owners are truly so friendly! You are missing out on not trying this spot asap! -
Review 9 (2023-12-01 - Rating: 5)
Cozy, intimate + amazing food. Thoroughly enjoyed the night’s specials. A gorgeous lasagna, bufala mozarella salad, chocolate soufflé. Lovely neighborhood spot. Will be a mainstay for me. -
Review 10 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Loved it so much the first time, we had to come back! The staff, the atmosphere and of course the food is absolutely amazing. Paired with a wine recommended by their knowledgeable staff, it is a dining experience you’re sure to enjoy. Do yourself a favor and find your way to Heidi’s House! -
Review 11 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)
THIS IS THE CROWN JEWEL OF THE UES - Im so happy I live close by (but would take the subway). What I consider a real NYC establishment filled with atmosphere, great drink selection and food that is the fresh and delicious. Intimate setting that always fits the bill for me. Wonderful staff and a great place to strike up a conversation especially when youre dining solo. Have had probably everything on the menu! -
Review 12 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Heidis House and Eds Elbow Room are my go to UES spots! The staff is lovely and food and atmosphere are unbeatable. Every dish I have tried is top notch and their wine and beer selection are excellent. Perfect place for a cozy date night or catching up with friends. -
Review 13 (2018-01-03 - Rating: 4)
This place is really cool I came here for a private party and had exceptional service. I would definitely come back to grab a drink at this bar. The restaurant next door are also the same owners. The food was delicious and a large selection of drinks. Very nice owners as well! The Paella was delicious!! -

Heidi’s is the perfect place for a quiet and intimate dinner date. The food is exceptional, the staff are kind and attentive and the music played is cozy. I highly recommend Heidi’s because the service is consistently amazing. -
Review 15 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Fav spot on the UES! cozy vibes, friendly staff, and the food is mouth-watering fabulous. The mac and cheese is the best in NYC, I love adding truffle oil and broccoli and pairing it with a glass of Gavi. And you can’t leave without trying their chocolate soufflé or date putting!! 10/10 recommend. -
Review 16 (2024-06-17 - Rating: 5)
Heidis House is a cozy little spot on the UES with great food and service. We started with a reasonable bottle of wine and then ordered the Mac N Cheese, which was creamy and full of flavor. My friend enjoyed the Chorizo Tacos, and I had the Roasted Artichoke Salad, which was delicious. The food did take a bit to arrive, but the overall experience was nice. Its a good place for a relaxed meal. -
Review 17 (2019-04-07 - Rating: 5)
Small, intimate, very busy yet you can hear yourself talk... no reservations, however call ahead to put your name on a list. Excellent Paella plus many Mac n Cheese options. Had fun on my date! -
Review 18 (2017-10-18 - Rating: 5)
Charming hosts, thoughtful of every detail! Cozy and authentic. Feels like you are having a signature dinner at your grandma’s. Everything looks delicious, and tastes even better. It’s a pity I don’t live in the neighborhood. Next time l’m around, I’ll be back for dinner! -
Review 19 (2024-01-08 - Rating: 5)
The true essence of a neighborhood gem - quaint & cozy! Will have you coming back again and again once you have a taste of their food (BEST BURGER in the area hands down!) that brings complete joy and comfort, wonderful wine selection, and DO NOT SKIP DESSERT...or underestimate the salads. The date pudding is not one to miss- also a goodie to stop in just for dessert & wine/coffee.Service & hospitality that is on point and makes you feel at home.Great date night or catching up with a good friend for hours.Eds Elbow room next door is also superb and a spot youll end up chatting with whomever is next to you and marking a new neighborhood friend! -
Review 20 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)

Review 21 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 5)
If youre in search of an unforgettable dining experience in New York City, look no further than Heidi’s House. From the moment you step through the door, youre enveloped in a warm, welcoming ambiance that strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant. Our server, Freddie, was so sweet and funny. He is so knowledgeable about the menu and it is apparent that he is passionate about this place. He really made us feel like an old friend. And the food is jaw-dropping. The mac and cheese? Oh. My. God. It’s spectacular. Its not just the best mac and cheese in NYC—it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. I ordered it with jalapeños and you certainly can’t go wrong with a little bit of spice and a whole lot of cheese! This is my favorite spot in the city. It’s unmatched on all levels and I can’t wait to return again and again and again! -
Review 22 (2017-11-06 - Rating: 5)
This is a GREAT date spot. My boyfriend and I shared the paella which was really really delicious, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. We got guacamole to start but I dont really remember it, which isnt necessarily a criticism of the guacamole, the paella just stole any thunder to be had. -
Review 23 (2019-11-24 - Rating: 4)
I really like this place, its very relaxed with good wine and beer. I personally think the dining side is slightly nicer for the ambiance. The food here is really good while everything is a little on the expensive side its worth it.Staff here are great and always engaging with customers do dont be afraid to say hi. -
Review 24 (2023-11-19 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely love Heidi’s House! Such a warm and cozy place with the most delicious food. I have my favorite dishes, but the specials are always amazing too, you seriously can’t go wrong! It’s the perfect neighborhood spot - great for a date night or a night out with friends. -
Review 25 (2024-12-21 - Rating: 5)
Heidis house isnt just a local bar; its a charming neighborhood gem. The wonderful staff make you feel instantly at home, and while the drinks and food are excellent, its the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the people that truly keep you coming back. If youre looking for a truly special spot with undeniable charm, Heidis is a must-visit. -
Review 26 (2023-11-19 - Rating: 5)
By far one of my favorite spots on the UES!! Absolutely love the sangria, and wow...the food! (order the burger and thank me later). Amazing staff, and I hear they have a fun trivia night every Wednesday. -
Review 27 (2016-08-29 - Rating: 5)
I really thought itd be bigger. I get why its hard to get a table. Absolutely one four top. And worth it. Ill go again and again. It might be my new favorite place in the area. Great beer selection and just incredible food. What a treat! -
Review 28 (2023-11-19 - Rating: 5)
What an awesome little spot!! Great food, fantastic service, quaint dining area. A must visit!! Highly recommend the burger on an English muffin and the famous Mac and cheese (add jalapeños if you want a little spice 😜). Don’t hesitate to visit Heidi’s!!! -

Cute atmosphere and yummy food (burger, salmon, guac). Expensive for the area though. But enjoyed our time there! -
Review 32 (2021-06-01 - Rating: 5)
This is by far my favorite restaurant in NYC after moving here 3 years ago. I was recommended this place while on an architecture tour of the upper east side. My girlfriend and I went within the same week and were blown away. I have since returned here a few times whenever I have visitors and it never disappoints. The food menu consists of only a few entrees, along with a few specials. I prefer this because it tells me that the kitchen isn’t stretching themselves too thin with pages of options. Outside of the food, the drink menu is very well curated and has options for all types of drinkers (I’ve ordered everything from beer to cocktails to wine here). This restaurant is small but the concept is beautiful. Make time to visit, you won’t be disappointed. -
Review 33 (2021-12-24 - Rating: 5)
The short ribs were fall of the bone perfection. The mashed potatoes were a perfect side with the rich, full flavored sauce. Could not have been prepared any better. Run do not walk to this hidden gem in NYC. Hedis House is small in the number of seats for dining but do not let that determine your visit. The food, service, and experience is wonderful. -
Review 34 (2024-12-16 - Rating: 5)
I absolutely love coming here!! Such great service and a cozy ambience. Definitely try the shishito peppers, truffle Mac and cheese, and date pudding- they are sooooo delicious! Best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had! -
Review 35 (2024-11-24 - Rating: 4)

Review 36 (2022-09-30 - Rating: 5)
Best spot on UES, hands down. Super chill vibe that feels as cool as any Soho/West Village hole in the wall but without any trace of snobbery or pretension. It’s cozy, comfy, and intimate, perfect for a date night or relaxed dinner with friends. Awesome wine selection with generous pours, and amazing food with good sized portions that have not shrunk lately like some other places nearby. The large, fluffy gnocchi are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The paella is amazing, tuna tartare is plentiful and perfect. Great guacamole too. Afterwards we went to Ed’s Elbow Room next door, which is so fun. It’s got a very cool New Orleans vibe, good music, good beer, friendly bartender, and delicious free popcorn—who could ask for more? Both Ed’s and Heidi’s are the kind of place that once you discover you’ll not want to go anywhere else. -
Review 37 (2018-03-11 - Rating: 5)
One of those hidden gems on a neighborhood side street. They started out as a small bar with some tapas and now they expanded to the store next door where they offer only drinks.Their food is great, sophisticated and tasty with reasonable prices.Service is excellent, although its recommended to reserve a spot at the restaurant of youre planning to eat. The bar usually has walk-in space so thats cool. This is really a high-class mom and pop bar and a great place to relax and enjoy a date night. -
Review 38 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 5)
Best in the biz -- Ive been coming here for 10 years! Food is wonderful, staff is always so gracious and helpful. I tell everyone about Heidis House and look forward to every visit. Many a celebration here too! -
Review 39 (2019-09-30 - Rating: 5)
New go-to spot for great food, service and atmosphere. We had a party of 5 and happily there is one table that seats 5. The others (I think 4) are all two tops and the other option is to sit at the bar. I didn’t take photos but we ordered the paella, macaroni and cheese, the gnocchi special and the ribeye. Nothing disappointed. We also ordered the chocolate soufflé and date pudding. Both were delicious. There was one waiter and he was perfect, took care of everyone with great timing and personality. I’m so happy we found Heidi’s House! -
Review 40 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)

Review 41 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 5)
Wow! All (chorizo/jalapeño mac and cheese; wok seared shrimp salad; etc) was delicious - but seriously, that meatloaf? “Best of melt in mouth” winner. Date pudding, chocolate soufflé. All outstanding in a small family-run UES treasure. -
Review 42 (2018-08-26 - Rating: 5)
The mac and cheese, the wine selection, the best bartender and the welcoming and friendly staff - this place is such a gem on the UES. This is the best mac and cheese Ive had in a long time, worth the 25 min cook time. The menu is small with mains like mac & cheese (and a selection of various mix-ins), a burger, a pasta special, and a main special (it was fish the evening we went). Everything is delicious and of serious quality. Book ahead or get lucky and sit at the bar - on a weekend evening the wait can be more than an hour. -
Review 43 (2024-03-15 - Rating: 5)
Tasty 😋 food. Quick service. Good place for drinks and eating. -
Review 44 (2015-08-20 - Rating: 5)
I went to Heidis House for dinner with three of my friends. Arriving shortly after 8:00 PM, the House was full. The woman behind the bar (perhaps Heidi?) disclosed that it would be at least an hour-long wait. Do you want to wait that long? I cant imagine anyone wanting to! We were waiting on the fourth member of our party, so we opted to stay. And it was worth every minute. The fare was moderately priced, but entirely justified. For an appetizer, we had the guacamole, which was quickly devoured by our party. The macaroni and cheese (my dish) was phenomenal, baked to a crisp around the edges of the pot with just the right amount of melt-in-your-mouth goodness in the middle. Others in our party tried the gnocchi (equally delicious). We definitely plan on going back. -
Review 45 (2014-03-23 - Rating: 5)
Going on the recommendation of a friend. Outstanding food and service . The waiter/bartender was fast, efficient, and attentive. I coughed, he brought water. The lobster ravioli was outstanding in a rich and wonderful sauce. I wondered why they would have brought a spoon, some might use for spaghetti, until I realized it was to scoop up that delicious sauce. But then the waiter asks, Would you want a little bread for the sauce? Are you kidding? Nice thin slices of baguette. Flavorful Malbec, exceptional meal. -
Review 46 (2024-07-27 - Rating: 5)
We had an amazing experience here! Went out with our (sometimes picky) kids and everyone loved their food. The big surprise of the night was the date pudding it was delicious! The service was great and the vibe was perfect. This is a real Upper East Side treasure. We will definitely go back again and again!!! -
Review 47 (2024-03-22 - Rating: 5)
Our favorite spot for years. Every item on the menu is delicious and they have a great selection of beers and wine. -
Review 48 (2018-02-19 - Rating: 5)
Best food I have ever had in the world! Paella is hands down the best dish in all of New York. Shrimp tacos are my number 2 favorite with a side of crab dip. Best dessert is the Date cake - make sure you plan in advance and call ahead! So worth the wait. -
Review 49 (2022-10-11 - Rating: 5)
From Texas and this was an absolute treasure to find. Real local joint with amazing food and drinks. They made us feel right at home. We were looking for a local place with great food not touristy for our anniversary and this was it. Make sure you stip by while in the city. Jake at the bar is spectacular. Thanks Jake. -

Heidis House is a GEM on the UES! every time I walk though the door Im treated warmly, like an old friend. Their staff is always attentive and gives great recommendations on the menu items. Their food is too die for in real life. Everything Ive had there has been delicious, you cant go wrong with whatever you choose. Run dont walk to Heidis, youll definitely be making it a regular in your going out rotation. -
Review 52 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely love the intimate atmosphere here. I am also gluten free and the accommodations from the staff here were INSANE. This is actually the best gluten free mac and cheese I have ever had. Also do NOT skip the paella. The staff was so friendly, the food was 10/10, and this is my new fav comfort food spot! -
Review 53 (2015-08-09 - Rating: 5)
Its hard to explain the unique vibe of the place - something like a surf lodge meeting the culinary sophistications of a wine bar and the 1-1 attentiveness of a sushi bar. Pick a hand-written special knowing that most everything served here isnt a disappointment. Absolutely an Upper East Side neighborhood gem.Oddly enough, the guacamole Ive had here has been some the best Ive consumed outside of the Left Coast. As most have already warned, just by calling ahead the same day (and booking an early dinner slot, like around 6), you will save yourself a good wait! -
Review 54 (2016-12-09 - Rating: 5)
Loved this place! The staff was friendly and very accommodating to get us seated on short notice. The mac and cheese is incredible. Super affordable and enjoyable meal and atmosphere. Ill be back here for sure. -
Review 55 (2023-01-25 - Rating: 5)
Hidden gem of the UES! If you’re looking for a casual, comfortable, no-fuss date spot, then look no further. Good selection of beer and wine. The Mac and cheese is a must! -
Review 56 (2024-07-31 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite restaurants on the UES by far! The mac & cheese can be made gluten free and its AMAZING. We also loved their roasted artichoke salad, paella, tuna tartare, and hamburger! The cozy atmosphere here is unmatched and this place is truly a hidden gem. Highly recommend making a reservation because its definitely a popular spot -

Review 60 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)

Review 61 (2018-12-24 - Rating: 4)
A cozy and relaxing place with a small bar and a couple of two-people tables. We had their daily specials: roasted artichoke salad and lamb chop, and also paella and date pudding from the menu. The salad ($22) as well as the paella ($30) were a bit too salty. Lamb chop ($36.5) was great, tender, fresh, and served with a delicious side containing mushrooms and potatoes. Date pudding ($15.5) was my favorite thing in the dinner. It was warm, served with nice whipped cream, and so comforting. One star taken off for overpricing. -
Review 62 (2022-11-18 - Rating: 5)
Delicious food, lovely service and ambiance. Its a small (20 people max) restaurant with same day reservations. Reasonably priced for UES and great vibes. -

Food and atmosphere at Heidi’s house is great. Giving it 4 stars here only because I went with my girlfriend for drinks and the bartender wouldn’t let us sit at a table, all of which were empty. We had to cram at the bar which was full and uncomfortable. -
Review 65 (2019-01-07 - Rating: 5)
Cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the gnocchi with lamb. Theyve got some cool napkins too.I definitely suggest calling ahead though. -
Review 66 (2019-09-21 - Rating: 5)
What a wonderful gem on the Upper East Side. I knew they do not take reservations and that the place is very small, so I came in for an early dinner at 6 pm and the place was about half full. Ambiance is more on the dark side and music was soft enough to have a normal conversation. Not a full bar, but a wide selection of wines and beer. The food was amazing. I had the burger, and I think it is one of the best in the city. Definitely get the cheese on it. I ordered it medium well, and it was still very juicy. I had the chocolate soufflé, and it was absolutely worth the extra 15 minute wait. I will definitely be back! -

This place is still exceptional! We used to come here every other day ten years ago, then moved out of neighborhood. We still crave Heidi’s and when we come back, it’s still hitting the spot! Best burger anywhere, lobster Mac and cheese, sangria!!!! -

Charming little spot. You can sit inside, or outside. Theres a nice little bar inside and one at the larger space next door. There is one server who does it all. He can answer all your questions make the drinks, serve the food with ease, and skill. The small menu consists of a few starters, a few entrees, a few specials, and a few desserts. Everything that comes out of the small kitchen looks delicious. We had some wine, the special lasagna with an arugula salad, the burger, which was perfectly cooked, and the date pudding was the best Ive ever had. Neighborhood gem. -

Very good drinks, nice service the waitress was very friendly profesional and gave good attention. We drink sangria which was not to sweet and the vine was great quality. We went also for some appetizers and later the burger. All was good quality and worth the price totally. Recommend the place one hundred pro cent. -

This is my favorite place on the UES. The menu is small, eclectic and amazing. Everything is beautifully prepared and delicious. Paella is my favorite. The Mac n cheese is a must-have and the chocolate soufflé is heavenly. And, dont forget the shrimp tacos. Monday night, date night, any night. This is the place to go. -

This place is small but great atmosphere. You can only reserve a table by calling ahead at the time of opening. Mains are $30ish, and are absolutely delicious. Get the short rib or the paella! -
Review 116 (2022-08-24 - Rating: 5)
Writing this while here in the restaurant, and despite having eaten at easily 100+ places across the city, this ranks among the top 10.Its a cozy little bar space, maybe 20 seats total. I got a bar seat as the tables were reserved, but theres plenty of elbow room.Wine list is short, but very well curated. They carry an Austrian wine which is somewhat uncommon, so take that as a point in their favor. Im not a beer guy but it looked fairly comprehensive.I had their special gnocchi, with lamb ragout. Gnocchi were tender, not an ounce of chewiness, and the ragout was balanced, not too salty, and very light considering its the dead of summer. All in all an excellent experience, very convenient to get to, and just a phenomenal place to eat and drink. -

I’ve been going to Heidi’s for almost 10 years and have devoured and enjoyed every meal. It’s an absolute gem of a place, worth going to again and again. The lobster Mac and cheese is my go-to. My friend always gets the paella. I’ve had friends and family try all sorts of their menu items and each is delicious. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Simply the best! -

Review 126 (2023-05-15 - Rating: 4)
Asked Eric where to get a solid burger on the UES and he recommended this place. Its a bespoke-type place, which is ok, but it means that they lack certain basics, like they don’t have unsweet tea, don’t have lemon for water, can’t do grilled onions or pickles on a burger. Hummus appetizer was fresh, pita nicely toasted. Burger was mids. Fries were schwag: greasy yet undercooked and totally lacking salt. As much as I wanted to, I can’t be giving Eric a GFOTY point for the recommendation. -
Review 127 (2021-09-30 - Rating: 5)
This is the perfect little hole in the wall place. Wine and beer list is solid, and the food is absolutely fantastic. I got the lobster Mac and cheese, and my girlfriend got the pork shoulder special. Both were out of this world good. This place is a gem on the ues. Highly recommend to anyone. -
Review 128 (2017-11-07 - Rating: 5)
Very small, very cute, very cool. The food was delicious and they offered a good wine and beer list (I rarely see left hand milk stout on the menu!). For being so very teeny, we didnt find it noisy at all. We were able to have a quiet conversation, even though the place was full. Will definitely be back. Get there early, though or be prepared to wait. -

Review 132 (2022-04-23 - Rating: 5)
I cannot get over what a hidden gem this place is! I had just spent all day at the Met, and I was searching for restaurants within walking distance that could provide an intimate and non-touristy atmosphere while I ruminated on all the history I had soaked up that day. I do love the vibrancy and life in NYC, but sometimes you need a cozy retreat to wind down for the evening. Heidis House did not disappoint! Reminiscent of European bistros or family-owned Italian restaurants, I was immediately welcomed and made to feel like part of the community there. And boy was there a local community: many of the patrons around me were not only regulars, but knew the staff and/or owners - swapping stories about their everyday lives. Ambiance aside, the food was absolutely incredible! I enjoyed the tuna tartare appetizer along with the (and Im still dreaming about it) the gnocchi with lobster. And by some serendipity, they had Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, where I had honey-mooned in 2019. The over-generous wine pours, the genuine care the staff took with their customers, and home-made cuisine completed the package of a most wonderful night in NYC! Thank you Freddy/Freddie (sp?) for one of the best dinners Ive had in a long time. :) -
Review 133 (2019-03-10 - Rating: 5)
It’s a nice atmosphere if you go early, say around 4:30 on a Saturday. I was there when it was very crowded once and there were 5 of us so it was tight. It is a small restaurant but I believe that’s what gives it its charm. It wasn’t crowded when we got there a little after 4 pm on Saturday. The food was quite good all around. The Mac and Cheese stands out. We got it with lobster and I hadn’t had it like that before going here. -

A charming nook in the UES. Its a place where you go to step outside of the bustle for a moment - very homey, loads of character. The food is elevated comfort food, though I could have used a larger portion. Very friendly staff. -

I wish I could give a 5 star. The food was amazing. I had a gnocchi dish that I can say blew me away. The pieces were the size of jumbo scallops and the texture was so soft. I never had gnocchi like this one before. The server was very nice but extremely slow considering for the majority of our dinner we were the only ones there. (We were there early, it does get very busy) Id go back just to have those gnocchi again. -

Teeny tiny little spot uptown that serves some delicious food in a homey atmosphere! The food here is just awesome. It is basically comfort food tapas style. To start we ordered the hummus made with organic garbonzo beans and warm pita slices. It was pureed into a tasty creamy consistency. We also ordered the guacamole with homemade corn chips and it was terrific.I absolutely loved the green salad with the house-made citrus dressing. The mac and cheese was good! The vibe in Heidi house is exactly what you look for on a cold fall night when all you want in the world is delicious comforting food and good company.Service was efficient and friendly. Even though it was very busy, she works hard to do a good job and please her customers.GET THE DATE PUDDING! -

Heidis House by the Side of the Road is absolutely one of the best places to eat and drink in the Upper East Side and possibly in the entire state of New York! The food is so satisfyingly delicious! The Mac & Cheese was served piping hot and so good it made me want curl up in my jammies under a weighted blanket and watch When Harry Met Sally! The roasted artichoke salad was delicious too! The chef should be commended. Tinsley is the best hostess/server/barkeep/super hero! Please tip her and tip her well!!! Her kind and welcoming demeanor made the dining experience perfect. Ive never eaten anywhere where I was made to feel so welcome. Thank you Tinsley. Bottom line: if you enjoy eating great food, eat here often. -

CALL AHEAD BEFORE YOU GO.Tiny little spot, seats probably 24 max including the bar seats, great variety of craft beers, wines, house sangria, plus they had a few specials of some local beers which was nice.Service was top notch, one guy ran the entire show, drinks, bills, cleaning tables, taking orders, taking phone calls, calling people about seating, socializing you name it.... guy was on pointGreat ambiance, little loud due to the size of the place, dim lighting, awesome wood bar and stools, lots to look around at. Music was playing, couldnt tell you what it was... mainly heard the conversationsWe started with the crab dip, tons of crab, awesome flavor, little spice, chips carrots and celery were fresh, A++ couldnt really ask for moreNext we got the chorizo mac-n-cheese, do yourself a favor, dont debate it, dont fight it, dont look at the price, just order the mac n cheese and treat yourself to a crock of the best damn dish on the planet, chorizo was awesome, slightly greasy, cheesey, gooey, perfect noodles, burnt cheese on the edges.... stomach is growling just describing this stuff, you MUST get this...Last we split the burger with organic swiss cheese and bacon, hands down top 3 burgers ive ever had, medium rare was hot enough to melt the cheese and red in the middle.... thick, awesome bacon, cheese was perfect, ugh... could eat this for breakfast everydayAwesome place, very happy we spent our anniversary here, will absolutely go back again. -
