The food is so yummy and the portions are so good. Though it is pricey, it is worth it and the ambience makes you feel like you are dining at a bistro in France. I loved the onion soup and grilled salmon. The fries are also SO good. -

We had one of the best meals of my life last night at Le Tout Va Bien. We had the Brie appetizer that is a new favorite! The beef bourguignon was rich and flavorful and the pasta with mushroom sauce was divine! Service was attentive and the prices were reasonable! I’ll be going back on every trip to NYC! -

Outstanding meal and service. We enjoyed the duck breast, French onion soup, beet salad, and soufflé of the day plus the crepe Suzette which was served on fire. -

Food was Ok. Poor me that we went on brunch that they were busy. They should be a bit professional on they busy day by doing more good arrangement on your food on each course by all customers whole come first should get the food first not. Get the food last than the other table that they complain and mentioned they in a rush so push the main dish to that complained table first … which make us feel unprofessional -

Such a chance encounter, my friend and I was soaking in atmosphere in New York, but was getting tired so chanced upon this quaint French restaurant. Started in 1949 but carried on by trusted Vincent and Emilia. Delicious escargots, beef and creme brulee! Value set teatime.....check it out for yourselves, will vouch that you will enjoy this treat! -

First off, I am so elated to know this local gem has finally reopened!!!A very smart and kind man took over from the original owners. His name is Vincent Caro. The man who reignited the bright flame of the formidable restaurant Le Tout Va Bien!!!!Being one of the only authentic French restaurants in the area, we are very blessed that Mr. Caro decided to reboot the original but make no mistake, the new LTV is in a new era but the old world feel and amazing ambiance is quite familiar! To start my boyfriend ordered the French onion soup and I had the Caesar salad. Both terrific! For our main courses he had the steak frites and I had the salmon with ratatouille. Again, both delicious!!!!We both had cocktails for dinner. My choice of poison is Tito’s vodka Cosmopolitan. It was so delicious and amazing I could not stop ordering it x3! lolWe were so full we didn’t have room for dessert. That gives us a reason to come back, like we needed more reasons to come back!We are so happy to have this legendary restaurant back in the neighborhood!!!Thank you, Vincent Caro! -

Just had the best night at Le Tout Vabien—a cozy French bistro right in the theater district! Super romantic vibes with warm lighting and friendly staff who make you feel at home. 🕯️ We kicked things off with their French onion soup (so good!) and the filet mignon was on another level. 😍 The Crepe Suzette? It literally came out flaming! 🔥 If you’re planning a night out, definitely book a spot because this place gets packed! 🇫🇷Featuring :French onion soup gratineeCaesar salad with lobster shrimpDover sole MeuniereFilet MignonSouffle of the daySuzette Crepe -

We went late on a Thursday. The food was amazing! Beef bourgignon and expresso souffle were out of the world! Salmon tartare was also very good. Cat was super attentive, she made our dinner even more special. Will definitely come back. -

How wonderful that Tout Va Bien has reopened. My favorite French restaurant in NYC closed after decades leaving a hole in my heart. Thankfully it reopened. New look, new management but has kept the original charm of the original. True-blue French bistro cuisine. The Coq au Vin is hearty the way it should be with fall-off-the-bone chicken. I also had the moules provencale with a garlic butter sauce that demands to be soaked up by bread. Lovely, warm and charming service. Welcome back. -

Excellent neighborhood French brasserie with a family atmosphere and great takes on brasserie classics. Always prompt and friendly service. Appreciate the extended operating hours for a late dinner or brunch. Savory crepes and steak tartare are my default dishes but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had here. -

And the beet salad was delicately dressed, fresh and light I ordered the beef bourguignon which was fall apart tender with a rich sauce creamy mashed potatoes pearl onions and bacon.and a side of ratatouille .Finished with crepe Suzette flambé tableside . Wine selection was nice but pricey will definitely return!!! -

Lovely little Bistro! While the Prix Fix menu is only available during the week, my person and I feasted on escargot, pate, and mussels for not all that much more. The interior is casual and comfortable, and our server was just lovely. This restaurant is not accessible, as it is below street level, and the ladies room is very, very narrow - typical of older Manhattan buildings. We had a fantastic meal, and Id love to come back sometime for a full dinner. -
Review 19 (2024-08-31 - Rating: 5)

LOVED THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE. MY friends and I made a dinner reservation at Le Tout Va Bien on 51st Street between Avenues 8 and 9 in Manhattan and we’re glad we did. We enjoyed everything we ordered from the appetisers to the dessert. I had the filet mignon, MR and it was perfect for me. It was definitely better than the same dish which I had somewhere else. I feel however that a prime cut meat does not need a sauce because the natural flavour of the meat is good enough. Though I must say that sauce served with it enhances its overall flavour. But instead of pouring it over the meat, the option on the side should be made available. All smiles from the service staff. -

A hidden gem in manhattan area @ with nice atmosphere at a reasonable price.Let’s start with the one SURPRISED me. Brie en Croûte, Brie cheese in puff pastry with honey and truffle glaze. Cheese lover can’t wast any bite.Also. I can’t say NO to any kind of Les Tartares, especially TUNA is my favorite.Finish the appetizers? NEED MORE? Let’s talk about the ENTRÉES.Do you like DUCK 🦆? Then don’t miss Magret de Canard à l’orange, which is duck breast with roasted potatoes 🥔 green beans 🫘 and orange sauce 🍊Of Course you can’t miss Steak Frites, Grass-fed NY Strip tasty REAlly tender was perfectly executed & delicious. You NEED leave more space for the dessert 🍮 Crème Brûlée and Crêpe Suzette. -

Great ambience. I really felt like if I was in France. The portions were large for a French restaurant. It felt like real homemade food. Lots of French customers that it’s always a good sign. Loved the experience. -

Stopped here for dinner after a show. The duck was delicious and we enjoyed the scallops as well. They have a cute little patio for outdoor seating that feels like a true French bistro. Definitely recommend! -
Review 28 (2024-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Just a delightful relaxing dinner in an authentic French restaurant.I have been to this restaurant several times; usually after an early curtain because the kitchen stays open a little later. Always love an opportunity to dine here and to my ultimate surprise the special this evening was cassoulet, my all-time favorite! It was delicious as was the Fois gras appetizer. A bottle of wine and we were set. Unfortunately, no room for dessert. -
Review 29 (2024-06-29 - Rating: 5)
The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had! The Dover soul and mashed potatoes were phenomenal the food I rarely give reviews, but this place has it all!!!!!🩷 We came across this restaurant on a very last night in New York. The food was so good. We wish we would’ve found earlier. I would’ve went there again.. -

Excellent French restaurant in Broadway, NYC. Everything was fresh and excellent, escargots, huîtres, pâté, foie gras, Brie en croute, bœuf bourguignon, special risotto, and the soufflé was amazing. The team is very nice. For sure, we’ll be back. -
Review 31 (2024-08-10 - Rating: 5)
Delicious crepes and a really cute outdoor space for a nice weather day. This is one of those adorable hidden gem spots that you hope to find when in France, except it is right here in New York! I need to try their dinner sometimes, this review is purely regarding 2x brunch experience.Le Forestière (Chicken & mushroom gravy) crepe is my favorite. Crispy, soft, rich, indulging, and just a perfect definition of a good crepe. The service was good and the atmosphere is very cute. -
Review 32 (2024-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Wow! I read tons of reviews saying this spot is a hidden gem and they are correct! We went on a Saturday for brunch for our anniversary! The food was incredible! We started with the Brie cheese for an app - delicious along with the fresh warm bread served! My husband says these are the best eggs Benedict he’s ever had! I ordered the croque monsieur and it was fantastic! I am not a big French fry person but was completely sold on their fries. Nice slender fries that aren’t super potatoey and have a beautiful flavor and crunch accompanied both our dishes. My husband also ordered a peach Bellini - again phenomenal! We ended with creme brûlée and it was perfection! The custard was smooth and thin, not super heavy, a perfect light dessert. The vanilla flavor was stupendous. The food did take awhile to come out but I’m sure everything is made fresh to order. We weren’t in any rush and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Make sure you give yourself a nice window of time and aren’t rushing. We did make reservations but to our surprise and enjoyment we had the whole place to ourself for brunch which was perfect for our anniversary! Our waiter was very polite and attentive to refilling our water. It can get a bit warm inside the restaurant in the summer time so dress appropriately! Great service and phenomenal food and experience! Thank you! 🥰❤️ -
Review 33 (2018-08-24 - Rating: 5)
Authentic to the point that some of the staff insisted on addressing me in French despite me not being French at all nor uttering a single word in that language. The food was great: I had a salmon tartare and then pan fried skate. Do not go if you’re in a hurry they don’t seem to care despite the remonstrations of a grumpy can customer sitting at the table next to me. All she got was a shrug. -
Review 34 (2019-01-20 - Rating: 4)
We stopped for a quick dinner at Tout va bien before the show. It is a cozy restaurant with French cuisine and wine. The escargot was pretty good and mussels were exceptional. I wish they had more drinks option besides wine as both of us are not wine drinkers. The service was good and quick, the stuff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stop by again next time when we are in the area. -

We enjoyed an early pre-show dinner and Le Tout Va Bien felt like a longtime favorite. If youre seeking cozy charm and traditional French fare look no further. Food, atmosphere, and service was stellar.I enjoyed the Escargots appetizer and the Moules Marinaires entree; my wife had the Beetroot and Chevre salad, and Risotto entrée. The Creme Brulee was incredible, and huge!Highly recommended. -

Our favorite homie French restaurant!!! The entire staff is so friendly and hospitable. Everyone from the owner to the waiter to the bus boy even offered to refill drinks and asked if we needed more bread or anything. As for the food, 5 stars!!!!! We got the garlic shrimp and Onion soup to start. I got Steak Frites and my fiancée got the bouf. Both were fantastic, cooked perfectly, and btw, the mashed potatoes are out of this world 🤩 Lastly, they have the best chocolate mousse I’ve ever had. It’s just perfect. This is one hidden gem you must try!!! -

Review 42 (2024-09-15 - Rating: 4)
We had salads to start (endive and blue cheese and the caesar salad) and we both had the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce which also came with the most delicious mashed potatoes. We also both had cocktails - negroni and a perfect manhattan. The filet was amazing and I would definitely come here again when going to the theater. The ambiance is a little too old school for me but overall definitely worth checking out. -

Good to see this place open again and if youre craving classic French dishes, this is a good one to visit.Everything felt authentic. The Moules Marinieres (mussels) had a great broth that youd expect.French onion soup was chewy, cheesy, sweet and flavorful. also good was crevettes persillees which had a ton of garlic and buttery broth. The only dish Id skip was the coq au vin, where the chicken was a little tough and felt too saucy.Overall we enjoyed it and plan to be back! -

Amazing dinning experience in this hidden gem place in the middle of the Manhattan. We start at Brie en Croute, is the fresh warm bread with cheese served. You really don’t want to miss this one. Try their steak, perfectly cooked with home made sauce. The most right thing I did that night was leave enough space for the dessert. Everything was good and delicious. -

Such a pleasant surprise of a restaurant. Authentic French food for an amazing value. Our server, Fabien, was extremely on it in terms of recommendation, meal timing, refilling water, etc. He would even make sure the spacing of plates was perfect. I havent had a waiter show that much attention to detail in a long time. And I dont know if it was a special Valentines occasion promotion, but, we didnt order desert and they brought us white chocolate mousse AND fresh sangria at the end of the meal. Well be back and I think everyone should give this place a shot! -

Review 68 (2024-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Le Tout Va Bien is alive with energy. With the tables filled, you can’t help but notice the electricity in its atmosphere. The owner and his staff are friendly, welcoming you with Bonsoir followed by a genuine Ça Va ? The food is delicious. Always. The Brie en Croûte is heavenly and the Magret de Canard à l’orange always hits the spot. Whether you choose to sit at the bar (try the Sancerre) or reserve yourself a table (get the soufflé for dessert), you can’t go wrong with this gem of a French bistro—a taste of Paris in the heart of Manhattan. Amuse-toi bien. -

Review 70 (2019-11-26 - Rating: 4)
The food was very good. I cannot praise them for their food. My friend almost cried because their fries were so good. The staff friendly and accommodating. However, it must not be mussel season because the mussels I ordered were stringy and grey. I was not the only person to complain. Im glad they comped my meal. Hopefully they find a better supplier because no amount of an amazing sauce can help stringy, grey mussels thatll cut your fingers when you try to open it. -

While on business in New York, Tout-Va-Bien Restaurant was suggested to me by a native. Had a very enjoyable meal. Outstanding antipasti bar, good pasta and very good service. Ambiance was fun and as a solo diner they made me feel very comfortable. I will be back. -
Review 72 (2019-01-12 - Rating: 5)
Loved this place. We stayed just off Times Square so this was just a short walk away. I think I read a review somewhere that you probably won’t go wrong with a French restaurant full of French folk. That’s why I chose this place and it was exactly that way - I think all the staff, owners and almost all the customers were French. Still the service was great and we didn’t feel out of place for a moment. Filet mignon was priced a little high but was done perfectly. The chicken was a bit of hit and miss affair - one piece was moist and juicy, the other was unfortunately really dry. -

Had dinner here with a couple of friends and my husband and we’re definitely coming back. The atmosphere is charming and everything we ate was delicious (salad, coq au vin, steak frites, apple tart). The staff was friendly and attentive and did not push us to leave. Honestly, I don’t know what’s not to adore about this place. I suspect Le Tout Va Bien is going to become our new hang out space. One of my friends noted it looks like the perfect spot for a drink at the bar without feeling odd about being alone. -
Review 85 (2016-10-22 - Rating: 4)
The proprietor, a very friendly French lady, made this dinner an energetic yet pleasant experience. The pre-theater prix-fixe menu was more than sufficient, with appetizer, entree and dessert. Carafes of red (a very acceptable French merlot that night) or white, priced right and quick to refill. For the pre-theater menu, escargots, followed by boeuf bourguignon, hanger steak au poivre (and a couple that we did not try) were well prepared and presented. We liked the carrot-potato mash too. A la carte featured a sea bass, grilled, and lamb brochette (on the skewer), and there were no complaints from our dates on these either (did not get to taste them, unfortunately). Oh, and the French onion soup was generous and looked delicious (she would not let me try that one!). And, its right next to all the Broadway theaters, making it both a great dining experience and a quick walk to the show. -

Stopped in here for a quick lunch before seeing a show on Broadway, and it was pretty wonderful! The croque monsieur was a wonderfully-classic representation of my favorite sandwich, my wifes flatbread was quickly made to disappear, and having a Kronenbourg is always a nice way to wrap up a lunch! Plus, it being in the basement of a townhouse makes it a truly-quintessential NYC experience! -

I was happy to hear Tout Va Bien had reopened so when I found myself dining solo this evening I decided to pay a visit and eat at the bar. I give it high marks across the board. A great salad, delicious Coq au Vin and a few glasses of a nice Rhône Blanc which was perfect for a more hearty chicken dish. The staff and owner embodied a perfect balance of both friendly and professional. Être là était un plaisir pour moi. -
