Pizzas with very thin crust, made in a real fire ovens... very nice. During happy hours 3-6 PM about half price = almost free compared to the quality. The pizza ovens give taste but also nice athmosphere. Service kind and smiling. -

A hidden Gem, Food menu, Drinks, happy hour! Great location, amazing staff, gorgeous ambiance. Every visit is better than the last. I tried the Margharita Pizza: thin crust, baked to perfection. The garlic puffs/knots were amazing. My company loved the shrimps and steak. The drinks were delicious and rich with flavors. I had the margarita and the amaretto sour, a very unique twist on a classic. Cant wait to go back. -

Whenever I come to NY, I make an effort to come to Marta. It’s located inside a hotel and would be difficult to locate if not for the fun sidewalk signs. The pizza is fantastic- wood fired, thin crust, good quality cheeses, aromatic basil, and sweet mozzarella cheese. There’s table service and there’s bar seating and there’s pizza counter seating- my fave- where you sit by the two brick ovens. The service is always amazing and friendly and fast. Shoutout to Julian- my server this time- he was so sweet, and even topped off my water and got a new napkin for me for dessert.I love the butcher pizza and the margarita. I’ve had a bit of the truffle pizza but it’s too rich for my taste (but if you’re into truffle, it’s worth the splurge… I’d recommend splitting it among friends for a slice per person.Ambiance is warm and cozy- despite being two levels and in a large restaurant. If you want to feel like you’ve escaped NY for a meal, you’ve gotta stop here! -

Gorgeous atmosphere!Service is a bit slow (Thursday 12:30pm).Pizza and nonalcohol tastes great. The whole place looks like a hotel of some kind and the interior design is very interesting (especially the path to the restroom).多维度的口味让人眼泪呼之欲出。PIZZA THE BUTCHER: Soppressata, Guanciale, Pork Sausage, Mozzarella, Grana PadanoNON-ALCOHOLIC MANDORLORIAN: Amaretti, Lavendar, Grapefruit, Egg WhiteAs someone else mentioned - might be too oily for thin crust pizza because of many greasy ingredients on top at once. But I liked the salty taste - especially works well with that Mandorlorian drink😆 -

What a lovely evening. Or server was very patient, sweet and so helpful with all of our questions. The menu is pricy but the food is delicious. We had the roast pork (serves 2) which was very tasty and tender. It had quite a bit of fat on it but was so good. The creamy potatoes were perfectly roasted and the sauce delicious. The sauce was on the saltier side but complemented the pork and potatoes so well. The pizza was perfectly thin crust and a favorite of the night. We also enjoyed some wonderful cocktails. Would love to go back another time for pizza and cocktails. -

Specializing in very thin crust pizza, and situated in a historic hotel, this restaurant has nice decor and high ceilings. The appetizers were delicious, fresh ingredients. The pizza had such thin crust but still had a crunch texture, not dry. The sausage on the pizza was very tasty and flavorful. A wonderful meal! Service was good too! -

Really sad this location closed! I’m so hoping they open somewhere else. We sat outside and got the pesto pizza, arugula salad, and the potato starter. The highlight were 1000% the potatoes. So good. We both said we should’ve ordered two. We also got espresso martinis that were delicious. -

Cozy little spot. Great happy hour menu. Every day from 3 PM to 6 PM. Half price pizzas. My girlfriend and I ended up getting the butcher pizza and the marinara pizza. They were fantastic. I drank a superhero sidekick IPA and my girlfriend had the espresso martini and a glass of the Prosecco. She enjoyed both of them. Sean the bartender was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to come back. -

This is a great spot for wood fire pizza and large groups. They do have half off pizza before 6pm which is a great deal. We had a group of 8 that was seated at 5:30, but our server finally took our order at 6:07 and wouldn’t honor the deal 😩 oh well. Apps are great and easy to share. The mista salad is huge. The calamari and potato’s were delicious. For pizza - the butcher (meaty!) and straticella (impressive that the crispy thin wood fired crust held for so much delicious pulled mozzarella piled on top) were winners. Lots of good cocktails and wine as well. -

Good pizza and would go again, but wouldnt rush back- Margherita with added mushrooms: the best we ordered and got an extra pie- Starciatella: worth trying- Tartufo Nero: huge disappointment. the problem was for the price $58, it didnt wow us and you really couldnt taste truffle. would pass- Garlic nots: pretty darn good. fried pizza dough with red sauce to dip- Gamberi: average. 3 shrimp per order- Caesar: pretty good -

Superb place.Ambience - just delightful and the waiting staff were a pleasure for me and my wife who were first time visitors. My wife wanted a cocktail not on the menu and it was made with no problem. I was recommended a beer that hit the spot.Pizza - it was super thin. If that is not your thing, then you shouldnt be coming here for pizza. Ours was very tasty. The standout dish was the fingerling potatoes - I think we renamed them the best chips, on steroids. Not disparaging, but they were SO tasty, and the portion size was large! We also had some heritage carrots with nuts and sage to go with - they were super tasty as well. This is a no tipping place, so the charge on the menu is what you will pay.We were recommended this place by a friend and glad we took on the advice. You too should take heed and try it out. -
Review 12 (2023-03-05 - Rating: 5)
The food was amazing. We had the branzino, margarita pizza with onion, a unique take on a ceasar salad, the crispy potatoes, and for dessert another interesting variation of a tiramisu that was so good. The space and the hotel that its in is very well done. Mar 2023 another visit, more great food, wine and pizza. -

The Martha Washington Hotel, originally opened in 1903, is a notable landmark in New York Citys rich history. Designed by Robert W. Gibson in the Renaissance Revival style for the Womens Hotel Company, the hotel was a pioneering establishment exclusively for women, a rarity at the time. This 13-story structure was one of the first of its kind to cater specifically to professional women, serving this unique clientele until 1998 when it transitioned to a regular hotel.Located in Midtown Manhattan, the hotel provided affordable lodging with rooms ranging from $3 to $17 per week and offered amenities like a drug store, tailor shop, and manicurist. Reflecting the progressive spirit of the early 20th century, the hotel helped accommodate the growing number of women seeking professional opportunities in New York City. The strict policy of no male guests underscored its commitment to providing a safe and exclusive space for its female guests.Over the years, the hotel has undergone several name changes and transformations. After its stint as the Martha Washington Hotel, it was renamed Hotel Thirty Thirty in 2003, Hotel Lola in 2011, and later King & Grove New York in 2012. Despite these changes, the buildings historical significance remains, highlighted by its designation as a New York City landmark. The Martha Washington Hotels legacy is a testament to the evolving role of women in society and the urban landscape of New York City, marking a significant chapter in the citys history of accommodating diverse social changes and needs. -

This place is vibrant and a large open room with really high ceilings. Also has seating around the pizza ovens so you can watch them all being made while you eat. When ordering food try as much stuff that is wood fired because it all tasted great.Pizza crust is nice and thin and delicious, but the calamari night have been the best part of the meal!As a Danny Meyer restaurant there is no tipping so the menu prices include everything. -
Review 15 (2022-11-12 - Rating: 4)
Decent pizza in the city, came here for a vendor lunch and the food was pretty good. Lots of space and great for groups. Friendly staff too! The pizza was with super thin crust, very flavorful and tasty. -
Review 16 (2019-10-24 - Rating: 5)
Great food. Came for a quick pit stop and to try the pizza that was recommended to me. It definitely did not disappoint! Thin crust with a great tasting dough and equally good toppings. Saw the duck confit on the menu and I had to try it. Perfectly cooked with a balance of crispy skin and soft fall off the bone meat covered in a delicate layer of fat. Beer draft selection also seems solid. Had a barre aged sour beer that went well with meal.Service was as good, if not better, than the food! -
Review 17 (2022-02-19 - Rating: 5)
Soaring ceiling and glass windows make Marta an ideal pandemic era venue for indoor dining. Staff are friendly and helpful and know the menu well. We branche out from the delicious pizzas we had before to try salads. Sadly, the legendary frittatas (my brother calls them that) were not available. Super pleasant and relaxing place. -
Review 18 (2023-06-25 - Rating: 5)
Enjoyed the daily happy hour. Perfectly thin crust. Loved the Straciatella Pizza. For reduced prices “pizza hour” you should visit between 3pm-6pm. -
Review 19 (2023-02-26 - Rating: 5)
Definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve had in the city so far. The chicken meatballs are OUTSTANDING. Definitely recommend making a reservation at least a day before for the weekends as it was pretty packed. Beautiful interior with a nice mezzanine dining area with great view of the bar. -
Review 20 (2020-02-10 - Rating: 5)
Make a reservation! this place is so good you just dont want to wait to be seated. The restaurant is so beautiful and the design is timeless, its very comfortable and inviting. The staff is incredible, great service every single time. Its a no-tipping restaurant so thats always a good option knowing that the tip is already factored in the prices. The Stracciatella pizza is a must, its so good. You can not go wrong with any of their Salads, appetizers or deserts. -

Came with my children and grandbabies for Mothers Day. Yes, thats right, a toddler and 11 month old - not only did we get a fabulous round table with two highchairs, but the food, service and ambiance was so good that everyone enjoyed it from start to finish, including the people seated nearby....lol. Thin crust amazing pizzas (especially loved the mushroom), fabulous artichoke alla romana (so good, we ordered a second round), delicious martini and frozen rose. The desserts were amazing, especially the gelato! I really was impressed that such a fabulous restaurant could accommodate us so well. It is located in the lobby of a lovely historic hotel in a fabulous section of the city. Highly recommend. Oh, and we even found street parking on a Sunday afternoon. Just a perfect day and meal! -
Review 22 (2022-05-29 - Rating: 5)
Very impressed with the super thin crust pizza at Marta’s last night! Get the hot chili honey sauce, it goes wonderfully with the pizzas. The desserts were delicious as well. Service was great! -
Review 23 (2022-05-23 - Rating: 4)
What a cool spot! The space is large and very attractive with super high ceilings, a mezzanine area, main dining and two bar areas - the pizza counter and the bar (where we sat). Our server was super nice, and the food was really tasty. We had the margherita pizza...now we are napoli-style pizza snobs so when we order a margherita pie we expect the traditional thin - not crisp - crust. This is more of a flatbread crispy style but the toppings were very fresh and delicious and for a crispy crust pie it was very tasty! We also had the spring suppli - nice little rolls of english peas, pecorino, course black pepper and mozzerella. We also had the garlic nots with pecorino, oregano w/ a marinara sauce. We enjoyed it all and will definitely return! -

Great thin crust pizza! And it’s really thin! Cesar salad was good too and the garlic knots. -
Review 27 (2020-02-04 - Rating: 4)
To be honest, due to being gluten free, I had avoided Marta in the past, and now I see that was a huge mistake. My meal was fantastic, with a knowledgeable service team in a warm and cozy environment. As for the food... Just Wow! The half chicken was juicy, succulent, perfectly cooked and seasoned--plus smokey from the wood oven. My only issue, is service members kept trying to move my gluten free items away from me to drop pizzas in front of me for the other people at the table. Just saying that a bit more communication would have gotten them a FIVE STAR review. That said, Marta is highly recommended. -

Review 33 (2019-05-21 - Rating: 5)
It was so nice and a welcome experience to visit Marta, a USHG restaurant led by a female executive chef, the talented Lena Ciardullo. The duck breast, served with crispy sun chokes, is the best I’ve had in town. The Mediterranean vibe to the restaurant, big open kitchen atmosphere and traditional ovens gave me a craving to try the pizza but there were so many appealing grill items on the menu, I couldn’t try all the dishes I wanted this time. I’ll be back for sure! -
Review 34 (2018-10-20 - Rating: 4)
We arrived late at night before closing by half an hour. They were only serving pizza, drinks, and desserts. But they were amazing and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and the service were really good as well. Its non-tipping restaurant which helps your wallet especially in big groups :p. -

Review 45 (2023-09-29 - Rating: 5)
Ordered for food delivery, and I was so impressed! I got the margherita and this pizza is AMAZING. Perfectly doughy and it has the charred black spots with a light crisp on the bottom and crust. The sauce and cheese taste super fresh, and Im sad I finished it so quickly. I cannot wait to come here in person for an even fresher pizza. Also dying to try the stracciatella one! -

Review 47 (2023-05-08 - Rating: 5)
We were craving some good pizza and wine, so we decided to check out Marta, which was conveniently located down the street from our hotel. We were thrilled with our decision as we were not disappointed! The restaurant boasted an extensive wine list with numerous options to choose from, and the pizza was simply delicious. The open kitchen allowed us to watch the pizza being made, which added to the overall experience. We visited for lunch and were pleased to find plenty of seating available. We ordered the Margherita pizza, which we always enjoy, and it did not disappoint. In addition, we ordered The Butcher, which was both tasty and filling, making it the perfect combination for our appetite.Overall, we highly recommend Marta for anyone in search of delicious pizza and an excellent wine selection. -
Review 48 (2023-03-19 - Rating: 5)
At first I really wanted to give Marta a bad review because the guy at the door was honestly kind of an a&$hole, but then the pizza came and it was so good that I had to put aside the rude checking in and being seated process and give it the five stars it deserves. We had the Margherita and the Butcher’s pizza, both were delicious and best of all, half off because they do happy hour between 3:00 and 6:00pm and for dessert we had the blood orange sorbet and it didn’t disappoint either. So if you’re looking for a good pizza place, give Marta a chance! -
Review 49 (2022-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Great find less than a block from our hotel. Great atmosphere, lively but not too loud. Our server, James was fantastic. Had the Caesar salad and meatball appetizer. Wife and daughter shared a calzone while I had a steak with carrot side (holy bathed in butter!). Everything was great. -
Review 50 (2017-08-03 - Rating: 5)
Really nice pizza and with tip included was a welcome change from a lot of the suggested gratuities on the bill. Very busy place but service was good. Abby pilsner was exceptional -
Review 51 (2023-05-19 - Rating: 5)
Love going to Marta! The food is great, the servers are nice/attentive, and the atmosphere is lively. Its especially cool that you can see the large ovens and pizza prep area. The Fungi Pizza and Branzino are a must have! -

Review 53 (2023-07-07 - Rating: 5)
We visited Marta a couple years back and loved it. We decided to return last week. In the afternoon, Marta has a Pizza Hour with discounted pizzas. We ordered the Margherita pizza, which we always enjoy, and it did not disappoint. The paper thin crust is flavorful and we could have eaten another one.We sat at the bar and the excellent bartender James was really nice. It was 90+ degrees in NYC the weekend we visited and Marta serves two excellent frozen cocktails, one with Aperol and strawberry and a Frose. We returned the next day and had the exact same meal. Love this place. -
Review 54 (2023-03-12 - Rating: 4)
Nice environment. Pizza was not bad. Good beer recommendation. They served an over salted pizza but changed a new one right after our feedback. Very kind and sincere service. Good pizza spot in the city. Sadly they didn’t have tiramisu. -
Review 55 (2023-05-30 - Rating: 4)
Great food, vibe and service but $11 for a bottle of not very good sparkling water? Thats gouging. No lime was offered. No warning of price. So, yes, its good but avoid if you like to rehydrate. -
Review 56 (2023-05-09 - Rating: 4)
Fun lively restaurant with great food and excellent friendly service. Pizza is thin crust and perfectly charred. Mushrooms were woodsy and perfectly cooked. Pancetta was great good and loved the greens as a break to the heavy meat. Overall great place and will definitely return. -

Fantastic and very unique pizzas. A fantastic variety of ingredients which I have never seen been used for a pizza. Great cocktails and wines. Service was great. An added bonus that the place does not accept tips as apparently they pay their staff an appropriate amount. -

I went to Marta with a group of 6 for Restaurant Week and was really impressed. The food is fresh and tasty, the service was attentive despite being a really busy night, and we all enjoyed our meals. The entrance is a little hard to find inside the hotel but it’s a great peak into the hotel style as well. -

Nice to be back. Great staff make everyone feel welcome and love to share their tips on ordering and cocktail/aperitivo pairings. Delicious light pizzas, Grilled mushrooms, baby artichoke, and carrots. Fish special was a whole branzino, so good. We were surprised to see the yummy charcuterie boards gone. Also, the fabulous brunch menu has been replaced by standard (salads, sandwiches, pizzas) fare. But always good.. A real crowd pleaser. -
Review 66 (2023-08-09 - Rating: 5)
Marta is an Italian-Pizza restaurant that’s both elegant yet casual offering a great interior dining environment that is perfect for lunches and dinners! It’s also a great venue for private parties and weddings! We attended a wedding and reception that offered fantastic pizzas that were made in unusually designed wood burning pizza ovens that’s part of their open kitchen. Marta on of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group of restaurants so you are guaranteed a fantastic culinary experience. -
Review 67 (2018-03-29 - Rating: 5)
Visited many times and hooked. Beautiful environment in a hotel lobby. Staff are always polite. Ovens are visible from your seat and you can see the cooks painstakingly but perfectly make your pizza. Very interesting but delicious appetizers(sourdough, pears, ricotta). I cant get enough of their Hen of the Woods pizza, its insanely delicious that hits all of the right taste buds. The on tap beer only had one type that appealed to me but it was excellent. Cocktails were hit and miss. Most importantly, its a no tipping establishment. So delicious food with none of the associated guilt in calculating whats deserved which is an incredible relief for some reason. -
Review 68 (2022-07-08 - Rating: 4)
Pizza was only okay… it felt too thin and not a lot of flavor. Plus atmosphere was tough because the acoustics made the entire room very hard to hear anything. Service was slow (they seemed understaffed) but because of that we ended up deciding against dessert. Would probably pass. -
Review 69 (2017-12-19 - Rating: 5)
An experience truly worthy of all 5 stars. We walked in and had a short wait. We were seated at the pizza bar which is fun to watch. Our appetizer and white pizza were both fantastic. I love the no-tipping policy, and our waitress was beyond good. Also very impressed by their beer menu which was local-brewery focused, and rivals that of many craft-focused bars in the city. Absolutely worth a visit for those craving a Roman-style thin crust in the heart of Manhattan. -
Review 70 (2021-05-30 - Rating: 5)
This is our favorite pizza restaurant in NYC! The super thin crust and high quality ingredients are the best. Weve ordered pizzas here a dozen times and each time they are flawless and consistently delicious. Other favorite items are the salads and anything from the grill. We have visited Marta many times as a couple, but also with a large group of 8 people. Each time the service and experience is top notch! The entire Marta team is warm and friendly, they are so accommodating and quick to help! We love dining at Marta, it is a hands down favorite spot. -

Excellent service and relaxing atmosphere. Amazing head chef who implements locally-sourced ingredients. -
Review 72 (2022-07-11 - Rating: 5)
Had a fantastic lunch here. Ordered The Butcher pizza and a classic calzone. The ingredients are top-notch and both were absolutely delicious. I think I have found my new favorite NYC pizza. We also ordered the Spring Suppli which I have never had before. That was incredible. We shared an order among 4 of us, but everyone wanted more. My only criticism is regarding the bloody mary. It has an unexpected sweetness to it that was not for me. However, I highly recommend eating here. The food is delicious and I am sure I will be back. -
Review 73 (2023-07-03 - Rating: 5)
The margherita pizza was great! We sat outside, which was not busy; this can sometimes be trouble at a restaurant, but they have an employee stand/station out there and our server was perfectly attentive. -
Review 74 (2017-03-24 - Rating: 5)
The food is delicious here and the vibe is awesome - trendy yet not too upscale. They also have a no-tip policy here which is different and refreshing. Came here for dinner and was impressed by the servers and the overall feel of the place. We also had packed up our leftovers but they must have forgotten so they actually gave us a whole pizza to go without us saying anything! Great spot for dinner or drinks or both! -
Review 75 (2018-04-14 - Rating: 5)
This restaurant does not disappoint! The attention to detail shines in every aspect, from the beautiful flowers, bright attentive hostess and gracious waitstaff, the vibe is on point. Oh, and the food is amazing! Pizza is hauntingly delicious. Seeing Springsteen on Broadway was the only thing that topped our meal at Marta. Will definitely return. -
Review 76 (2023-01-14 - Rating: 4)
The food and service were fantastic. We loved the thin crust Roman-style pizza, caesar salad and meatballs. Wine selection was great and the unique Sangiovese a perfect bottle to complement the meal. The ambiance, or lack thereof, was the only negative. A kind of soulless space with no vibe of any kind- the only saving grace being the open kitchen adding some energy to the space. Otherwise phenomenal service and dinner. -
Review 77 (2022-08-18 - Rating: 5)
It had been a while since I had visited Marta. The room was as fabulous as always, the smell of the wood burning fire permeated the entire room. The staff where is exceptional as ever, in particular by jovial host who is my new best friend.I was dining with a friend from out of town so of course we were distracted but our server was very helpful and helping us make the right choices. We were there during restaurant week and got an exceptional value. We each ordered our own appetizer and entrée for essentially $30.Because we decided to share everything I ordered a pizza and the steak the grilled Caesar salad and the chicken meatballs. All were exceptional. -

Great place for a pleasant dinner. The thin crust pizza was delicious and appetizing. Its probably best to share a pie among a number of friends as the last slices tend to get cold if they sit on the table for too long. The arancini were very good appetizers , and there was a solid beer and wine selection. The fact that gratuity is included is another great feature of this place. It makes you feel like all the staff are willing to help. -

I attended a book party event there that booked the whole restaurant. They had three food areas (each arranged differently) and two bars (one fixed and one portable). Food was Italian (four different pizzas and much more) -- fresh and delicious. No desserts were available. Red Wine served was a Nebbiolo -- excellent -- but when the widow of Steve Jobs is hosting, one might expect nothing less! -

We stayed later than closing time but instead of politely telling us they are closing, the server had a childish attitude retreating plates while banging the table and cups in an aggressive manner every few minutes.Maybe it was a bad day ... -

The pizzas here are really excellent. Would recommend The Butcher. Also the arugula salad is great and the negroni is fantastic. Fun spot with very nice service! -

The excellent pizza is worth the long wait (if you dont have a reservation). We sat at the pizza bar overlooking the hot wood ovens and had a good time. Wines by the glass are a bit expensive but overall it hit the spot.Note: this is a no tip restaurant... Hospitality is included as they say. -

Pretty good pizza, unfortunately did not honor the reservation I made and we were seated towards the back in a separate dining area. Aside from that, service was food and the general ambiance is nice! -
Review 85 (2017-10-25 - Rating: 5)
The best pizza I have ever had. Thin crust as they serve here, can get soggy, but to me it remains a mystery how Marta avoid that from happening. Their crust is perfect and combined with great toppings, it is my new favourite pizza place. We also tried their tiramisu, which I found very tasty as well. Additionally, it is a no tipping place, which we were kindly reminded of many times by our very friendly waitress. As it was all so good, we did not adhere to that rule though. -

Delicious thin crust, wood-fired oven pizza 🍕 and great service. We sat at the pizza counter and it was a fun experience. The Stracciatella pizza is an elevated margarita and is fantastic if you like creamy burrata. -

This pizza was absolutely amazing!!! The service was phenomenal Eddie answered tons of questions that I had! He was such a great waiter. This will be a restaurant that I will always make a point to come back to. -
Review 89 (2018-08-08 - Rating: 5)
Really liked this place - perhaps because of my European sensibilities... 😉The model is that the tip and all taxes are included in the final bill. This means no pesky maths at the end of the meal (after wine) = bonus. All that aside, this was without doubt the best service Ive experienced in NY so far (and Ive visited a few times).Plus, the food was delicious and obviously freshly prepared. Would strongly recommend. -

I recently took my wife here for a birthday brunch and we were impressed by both the service and food. As a Danny Meyer restaurant, the service was impeccable and gratuity is included in the menu prices. As for food, we ordered the watermelon salad, zucchini fries, meatballs and salsiccia pizza (pork sausage and mushrooms). We enjoyed everything we ordered. The zucchini fries were crispy and nicely salty, the watermelon salad had a nice crunch, and the meatballs were moist and flavorful. The pizza was excellent as well and has a thin crust. If you have a large party, you may want to order multiple pizzas because they are not particularly large. We would certainly return again. -
Review 91 (2022-08-21 - Rating: 4)
The interior dining area is attractive and moodlit. The prices were reasonable (especially the full portions of the restaurant week specials). The service is a little slow (but it was a bustling Saturday night, during restaurant week). And the tiramisu (with dark chocolate crumbles on top) was to die for! -

This one has been on my pizza bucket list for ages. Finally came here over the long weekend for Pizza Hour, which is basically a happy hour where you get half off every pie and drinks are $10.The pizza is thin crust (as in wafer-thin) and one-size (slightly bigger than personal). We got the Margherita and the Funghi. Both were excellent, though I had a slight preference for the Funghi which is a heavenly combination of mushrooms, mozarella, fontina, red onion, and thyme. Looking at neighboring tables, I kind of wish wed gotten the Stracciatella, which is very similar to the Margherita but uses creamy pulled mozzarella. My main quibble is that their salads arent leafy enough. I like a big leafy salad to go with pizza, but they didnt seem to have that option. We got the Farro Piccolo, which was delicious. Also service was slow at first. The waiter was confused and didnt know that we were seated and waiting to order for a good 5-10 minutes. Overall, excellent experience. -

Great ,thin crust pizza. Efficient, friendly service staff who know their menu choices. Nice dinning arrangement with good table spacing . Room is large ,high ceilings ,acoustics could be better when restaurant even partially full can be bit noisyStaff exceptional. Recognized us and remembered our preference while offering new choice -

Had a pleasurable evening here at Marta! Our server Sam was very nice and patient. My table got the garlic knots as an appetizer which was very tasty and as our main we got the butcher pizza, margarita pizza, and the fianchetto steak. The margarita pizza was alright but what I enjoyed best was the butcher pizza. The fianchetto steak was good as well but overall it was a good dining experience here! -
Review 95 (2022-10-23 - Rating: 4)
Pizza hour where select pizzas are half off is pretty worth it, otherwise the place feels a lil overpriced to me.The pizzas are super thin crust but the crust was soggy in some places which was inconsistent. Generally pretty good though -

Really popular/busy pizza restaurant - hadnt booked so had to wait more than 30 mins for a table but staff were great. Not your standard pizza joint, though - quite a different menu but great (thin and crispy) pizzas nonetheless, baked in an open kitchen. Unusually, service is included so no tips expected. -
Review 97 (2018-06-14 - Rating: 5)
Yummy! Great vibe. This is a pizza-centered hip restaurant inside the Redbury hotel. Very open floor plan with full view of the kitchen, the pizza making stations and the pizza ovens. High ceilings, very light and airy feeling. Staff was extremely attentive. As far as the food, it was delicious. We had 3 pies, all of which were unique and delicious. They have both red and white pies. They also have quite a large selection of appetizers and a bunch of other entrees, but no pasta dishes. The suppli appetizer was ok, nothing great. The sweetbreads, on the other hand were, simple and delicious. Will repeat. -

We chose this place almost randomly while walking off 5th Avenue. It turned out to be an exceptional experience. We sat at the pizza bar where you could watch the chef and his crew at work with the wood ovens. The food and drinks were superb. Definitely recommended. -

Review 107 (2018-10-14 - Rating: 4)
This is very busy, noisy but fun restaurant that has a wood-fired oven pizza focus, but also has a few other entrees and a number of good appetizers. Theres an open kitchen where you can watch the cooks prepare and plate a non-stop number of pizzas (on a busy night, 400+ pizzas is not unusual I was told) and theres a large fire pit where they grill a steak for two and other items. Full bar, interesting wine list and very attentive service by a young fast-moving staff. -
Review 108 (2019-04-20 - Rating: 5)
Wood-fired menu with brilliant food. The whole place smells like perfectly roasted garlic. Everything is properly attended to here. Hospitality in action at every level. One of my favorite places to sit at bar and eat. Especially fun to be made to feel like family in between peak hours. -
Review 109 (2019-06-30 - Rating: 5)
The service was excellent all the way from our seat at the bar through the entire dinner. Each dish was as tasty as the next. I especially liked the grilled octopus and burrata. All pizzas were hot, indredients fresh, and again, the service was outstanding. Highly recommend. -

Do not forget to do your reservation for Marta. We did and there wasn’t any spot for us Saturday night, so we came back Sunday lunchtime. Worth it! I will never forget that crust. The only pizza we had in NY on our trip and no regrets it was amazing. -
Review 112 (2016-06-20 - Rating: 4)
Probably one of the only pizzerias in the city classy enough for a business line, Marta has thin, crisp pies and a slew of wonderful little antipasto. We were a party of six, and with the slight encouragement of our waiter we went for six pies. We wandered our way through smoked meats, crisp vegetables and even some old fashioned cheese on the way to 1,000 calories or more. Before we got there was nice broccoli with chili flakes, chicken meatballs and other treats not exactly needed with the feast to come.Id been meaning to come here since this place opened, but it took nearly two years to get around to it. I wasnt disappointed. I will say this place looks bigger in photographs, so when coming a peak time a reservation is probably a good idea. For those who happen to be staying in the hotel, thats pretty good luck; this is a nice place. -
Review 113 (2017-11-20 - Rating: 4)
Being a big fan of Danny Meyer, I wanted to try his new pizza venture since its opening. I arrived around 6pm without a reservation and my party of two was quickly seated. We ordered the the macellaio pizza ($21), which is the meat lovers pizza, and the anatra ($29) also known as the duck. YOU MUST GET THE DUCK! The duck is perfectly cooked and tender. It was seasoned with just a bit of salt and the radicchio salad with berries was a good complement. The pizza was just okay though. I enjoyed the thin crust and the load of meat, but the pizza wasnt the best Ive had. The crust was also a bit burnt. But the whole meal was saved by the duck! The menu items and prices seemed to have changed since it first opened, so expect a different menu and raised prices. Overall, this place is good for a great food and a nice ambience. -

Stunning building and fit out, a real ‘New York’ feel to it. Impeccable service from Payton, we have been back again and will do before we leave in another week. Food is not fussy and is true to the ingredients - simple is better and they’ve nailed it. Must try the Vittoria cocktail, a local beer and of course the thin based pizzas. Surprise dish was the grilled mushrooms - share as a starter, you will not be disappointed -

I ha w to applaud this place for exceptional customer service and beautiful decor. As for the food itself, I’d say the chicken meatball wS good, the pizza was above average, not exceptional. The desert was excellent. I personally won’t return for the pizza but for the overall experience, it’s worth it. -

Was staying nearby at the Mondrian Hotel and ended up eating three times at Marta during my stay. The pizza is definitely one of the best in New York City - the margherita with anchovies kills it. A glass of wine or champagne and Im a happy camper. Nice, relaxing atmosphere as well. They even have great tea, which is not something you see at many similar restaurants. The prices are extremely fair, especially when taking into account that it is a no tipping establishment. Now that Im back home, I keep day dreaming about Martas pizza. -

We visited Marta because we have tried Martina before, then we found out it was closed and Marta was opened instead, good quality food, tasty thin crust pizza, the risotto croquettes were delicious, the roasted potatoes were a surprisingly delicious side, the lemon gave it a new taste unlike your normal roasted potato flavor. -

Its a big, bright airy room. Tables are not crammed on top of each other so there is plenty of personal space. Ate at the bar. They make proper cocktails, including pisco sours and other less common drinks.Ordered the margherita pizza with sopressato. It was the ideal of what pizza should be! Thin crust, a little char on the edges, enough toppings to complement but not overwhelm the thin crust. Bravo!!No tipping here - service is baked into the menu price. -

This has got to be our favorite pizza place in NYC so far. It is so hard to find good Italian pizza with wafer thin crusts and just the right flavors; and Marta delivers!Their pizzas are 12” personal size were just right for us and left room for dessert.I highly recommend the stracciatella pizza if you’re a margarita lover. It has all the ingredients of the margarita but is elevated with olio verde olive oil. I added mince garlic for a kick and it did not disappoint.Their tiramisu is decadent and is served in a cup. The wife didn’t like that it didn’t have enough of a coffee flavor but the pudding like setup made it just right for us. -

Marta was true to the USqHG form---everyone was so welcoming, especially the somm who kindly timed my drinks to match my food order and whoever it was that prepared a lovely surprise for me to end what had been a rather stressful week. The food and wine were also delightful---the casino pie is quality over quantity with some nice fatbellied clams and the wine program is unsurprisingly strong, altho I wouldnt mind seeing a nerello mascalese or some other Etna red added to match the smoke from the oven! Thank you, and see you again. -

Called on Sunday lunch time to confirm if they were offering restaurant week menu at that time and they said yes, but after being seated, the server said it was only available for dinner which was a bummer because we really wanted to try their extended menu. We stayed and ordered a Margherita pizza and a crispy chicken sandwich from their brunch menu. The pizza is very -maybe too- thin. Perhaps it’s something their servers can disclose while talking about the dishes or making recommendations. Other than that, it was good. The crispy chicken sandwich and herb chips were delicious. Good spicy level, tender chicken but also perfectly fried. The chips are seasoned (maybe also made) in-house and they’re addictive! -

If youre looking for a casual Italian place with a chill vibe, great cocktails and good service, Marta should be on your list!We had the Pancetta and Garlic Nots as starters, and the Butcher and Margherita pizzas for mains, and the olive oil cake as our dessert for a group of 3. Highly recommend the Butcher pizza and the Garlic Nots, but all the dishes were good. We each had cocktails and I really enjoyed the aged negroni. Will definitely be back here for cocktails, and its a great place for a group of friends to share dishes and enjoy a relaxing meal. -

We had a great time here. The food was very good and great ambiance. I will say that if your are grouping this place in high end restaurants Ill give it a 4 stars, but overall Ill say 5.
