I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and what a pleasant surprise! The food is absolutely delicious, with well-prepared and flavorful dishes, all at very reasonable prices. The service is quick and efficient, perfect for a lunch break or a casual dinner. The large terrace is also very nice and the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal outdoors, whether youre dining solo or with friends. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food here is FANTASTIC!I would say it’s the best Italian on the upper west side.My dish completely melted in my mouth. The wings are the best you will ever have.The prices are also super reasonable, a bit cheaper than most of the restaurants in the area.The atmosphere is almost medieval mixed with some upscale features.I recommend sitting upstairs.

We had a great time out tonight at Osteria Cotta. The decor of this establishment has a nice old-world type charm. It is very cozy here, the food was excellent as well, and the menu pricing was fair. We will definitely return, Osteria Cotta is a fantastic date night spot on the Upper West Side!

My friends and I discovered this place over a decade ago and had something of a reunion there recently. The family style dining was really excellent overall. The Burata and Salmon were the standouts. Plenty of food and we came to selections very quickly. Really great cocktails as well. Unfortunately it was a very long time between salad and main course, it was only about 10 minutes left in our theoretical dining window before the mains came out. Fortunately they didnt try to rush us out given the delay being their fault. Still, good enough I wont hesitate to come back.

After coming here for a second time I had to write a review. Both times that I went I had the pleasure of being served by Adriana. Adriana is extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent! I must also say that the decor is very rustic and I loved it so much. It’s extremely cozy. I must also add that Adriana went above and beyond by even singing me happy birthday. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The brunch was very good. The Baked Eggs in Purgatory were delicious- I had never had before, but it was warm, fluffy, and delicious. The restaurant is very cool as well, we ate upstairs and had the entire place to ourselves.

Dinnee time, ourside seating. Got the meatballs to start with some bread and oliveoil, pizza and lasagna. Portions were approriate for the price, specially the meatballs which were 5 , with plenty of sause and parmesan cheese. The saus was salty for sure, as it was present in the lasagna and pizza as well - but it could be subjective on our part .Service was good, and attentive.

Casual Italian with a broad menu and huge seating space. There’s a covered outdoor area, a decent space around the bar, and two large rooms upstairs. The pizza was well put together and quick to the table.There seemed to be a mix of clientele, from couples on a date, small party groups, and a few families with children. Everyone was made to feel comfortable and the atmosphere was welcoming.

I live in the area and have passed by a few times.We were looking to chill at the bar and order a a couple of appetizers in promptu.Turned out to be very good. And had a really nice vibe inside. Interesting decor and feels like you are in a quality space.The food was just outstanding. Surprised how good it was. Its not typical and above expectations for sure.The Rosemary Wings were fantastic and the Burrata was terrific (very fresh). Its obvious they put some thought behind it.The drinks were very good. I had the Brown Derby and as pleasantly surprised.Bartenders Mo, Mike, Oliver were most excellent and enjoy meeting and chatting with them.The bar area itself is small and quaint. Its best for a slightly mature crowd. I mean like 30+.The ambience is nice. Its dark inside and light with low orange colored lights.One of the better restaurant bars in the area in my opinion. There are so many choices and I feel this one stands out.Definitely enjoyed the food, ambience, and drinks. I could see hanging with friends here, and even meet someone for a casual, slightly more intimate date (really dimly lit and decor is inviting).Recommend checking it out and will be back for sure. Just go and try it. Will not disappoint.

Our daughter had her bridal shower at Osteria Cotta yesterday. Fabulous party room. Food is excellent and over abundant. Service was attentive. If you’re looking for a party space for 35-40, this is the spot.

Came here after a day at The Met. Hands down the best meal we had in NYC! Our server, Jamie, was fabulous & detailed. The chef accommodated our request for the Salmon dinner for 2 we had seen on the online menu but had only been offered during Covid. Jamie noticed one of our sides didn’t match the order and the chef corrected it without our asking & without additional charge.Our salmon was cooked to perfection-best salmon we have ever had & we are from the PNW.If you want a delicious meal for a reasonable price with excellent service, this place needs to be first on your list.

I came here at night with a few friends and the atmosphere is very comfortable--it is rather spacious for a restaurant in NYC and you dont feel too crammed or up close and personal with other diners. I would definitely recommend this place for a date due to the dim lighting, privacy, and cozy atmosphere. We all ordered the steak and it had a slight darkened flavor but was cooked at the temperature as requested. I will definitely return here again.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch. They have an interesting cocktail all you can drink option, which you get a set price for an entree with unlimited cocktails for 1.5 hours. We had a pork ragu pappardelle and a buon Giorno pizza. Both were so good, reminded us of the food we got in Italy! Very reasonable price and awesome service too!

The service here was Amazing! The manager needed to do something to the window behind our table, but was worried about bothering us- it was very minor we didn’t even notice. Had brunch on Sunday and it was such a nice experience. This is a warm and chic spot with a nice menu. Two floors with plenty of seating but weekend fill up so I highly suggest reservations. Brunch menu is nice with egg dishes, French toast, paninis and the well known wood fired pizzas. Reasonably priced, nice wine list and excellent service.

Beautiful and quirky ambiance! I had the pasta carbonara with a little spice and some truffle fries, and it was great! Also they have all you can drink specials on some days, you would have to call them or check their website for details, but went on a Sunday evening and the special was on. I did not drink but my friends definitely felt their cocktails are strong 😅They check out temperatures 3 times before entry and they limited capacity to safety reasons (Im posting this on covid times btw).I recommend.

Even the wine list was approachable with numerous options under $50. The upstairs dining room was very cozy and had a nice ambiance. Downstairs was more of a bar/casual atmosphere with TVs.Service was very quick so we were a bit worried that we were going to get pressured to leave after 90 minutes (we had an 8:00 reservation) but we were able to stay later without any problems.Overall, this is definitely a great option if youre looking for a satisfying restaurant experience without breaking the bank.

I stopped by this restaurant five years ago when I was at college and recently came back while visiting a friend in NYC. It’s just as good as I remembered! My friends and I shared some classic pastas, pizzas, and their specials, including a cocktail and fish dish—everything was delicious. The Orecchiette, my favorite from back then, is still amazing. A warm and happy spot; dependable menu with great wines at fine prices. A fan for over 10 years, were always happy to have a lunch or dinner at Cotta.The rosemary wings & shrimp scampi appetizers are excellent. All pizzas and pastas are always a hit. With a group of friends, date time, or with kids, a fine place to enjoy a good meal with good wine. Adrianna is a lovely waitperson, and overall what a good value for money at Cotta.

Tge food was pretty good though standard italian. The house specialty cocktail old fashioned wasnt particularly good, but the service was excellent and it was comfortable sitting outside on the upper west side. Costs, like everything in nyc, was high, but not that much higher than diners are costing these days so comparatively it was a good deal. Next time ill skip the cocktail and just have a red wine.

A good neighbor in the upper west side. I’m in well dressed upper Westside resident in need of a bathroom quickly and stepped in and while prohibition next-door said no this restaurant said yes. Bathrooms are immaculate and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I’ll be sure to eat here soon. If the bathroom is that clean then the kitchen will follow suit.

Loved my experience here last night. Got to dine in their upstairs private dining room which was beyond romantic. The bar was vibrant downstairs and upstairs provided a number of nooks to make the dining experience feel private even as the room began to fill up. The restaurant has a fabulous selection of wines by the glass, carafe and bottle. Got a number of share plates, which all hit the spot, including burrata, calamari and the arancini which was mushroom filled and phenomenal. Shared market sides with a second round of wine and loved the Brussels sprouts and beets too. Loved this spot and can’t wait to return!

This used to be our favorite UWS restaurant. Last time we visited, their signature spaghetti pomodoro recipe appears to have changed. We also had brunch and the supposedly 3-egg omelette let us hungry. The service and atmosphere is still above average. Update: we visited on July 28 for a drink. Nice ambience as usual. We decided we’re going to visit again for dinner.

Osteria Cotta has to be one of the best brunch spots I’ve been to. Great food, strong drinks and impeccable vibes.I had a fairly large party for bottomless brunch and it was a great experience. The mimosas were on point- stronger than I expected and tasted great.Because we had more than 7 people, we had to go with the family style option of salad, wings, pizza and dessert. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that at first but they brought out plenty of tasty food and it was actually a really nice variety. My only wish is that we had less salad and more wings.Service was fast and it’s in a superb area of the upper west side. Will definitely be back!

I still love this restaurant in terms of quality and service & for dinner it is worth the price (see my previous review). However, I went to get a salad for lunch and it was WAY too expensive. To get a salad with chicken was $16.50 ($12.50 for salad + $4 for a piece of chicken that was the size of the palm of my hand & thin....). Again, everything tasted good and I splurged this one time for the salad, but I absolutely would not go back there on a regular basis for lunch - esp when there are many high quality places in the area that offer great lunch deals. The lunch sandwiches and pastas were reasonably priced - I just dont understand why salad with meat is almost double.

The menu is pretty good and they have a cool walk-up window to get late caffeine. The upstairs is really neat because there is a extra party space that feels like the inside of a castle. The only reason to not give it 5 stars is I think it would be tough for disabled folks to get in/around this place. That is not uncommon in Manhattan and there is outdoor seating for warmer times.

I love this place. Went here twice so far and have not had any bad experiences. First time was for Brunch with friends. The menu was very reasonable and included an entre and unlimited drinks (of one type of drink, ps Mimosas all the way!). The second time being here I went with my friend and her family for graduation dinner. The planned event included ALOT of food consisting of different cheeses, meatballs, pasta, pizza, dessert, etc. and it was amazing! All served family style. Definitely coming here for my graduation dinner.

Brunch time. The place has a great decor and loads of room. On a Sunday early afternoon it was packed! With 5 other people at the table we had many dishes and all were delicious!! A big plus for those loving their boozy brunch - unlimited drinks (mimosa, bloody marry, sangria) till 2:30pm. So go wild! The only drawback is that the food was slow to arrive due probably due to the sheer amount of people there. I will definitely come back!
