Some of the best seafood in the city comes from the PdF kitchen and everything else, especially the desserts, are great as well. The price lends itself to a special occasion but it’s worth stopping by even to just enjoy some great cocktails, the strong Spanish-focused wine program, or some exciting after dinner drinks. One of my favorite spots in NYC.

Update: 3 years later, this place is still one of the best. Our third year in a row celebrating a birthday, and they greet us with a glass of wine and a hand written note; a warm and welcoming touch. I love that the sardine toast is a permanent dish bc it gets better every time. The seasonal menu change is also great. This time we had the harimasa, sweet potato (maybe the highlight), grilled brassicas, and rib eye.Review from 2022: Great spot for a date night or dinner with friends in this semi intimate wine bar. The back of the restaurant is a bit more dimly lit and cozy. Staff and servers were all very warm and welcoming. Food highlights were the sardine toast, castelfranco salad, mafaldine pasta, choux craquelin dessert. The other mains were tasty as well, but the mafaldine and castelfranco seemed like one of the better cost per portion. The quince sorbet was a touch too sweet for my taste, and resembled the taste and texture of an apple butter.

Some very meh dishes alongside standouts. the former include the anchovies (salt bomb), goat cheese (bland, and for ants), crispy lamb (another salt bomb). the latter include the tempura maitakes (though garlic aioli was somehow useless), beans and eel (special), asparagus (specifically the chili crisp topping) and the potatoes (best item!!).we split a bottle of wine and it was $100+/pp. lovely space, lots of dates going on. i’d come back and order heavier on veggies, which they seem to do better.

  • Review 4 (2024-11-10 - Rating: 5)

Came for my birthday and had a phenomenal time. The vibe is intimate, the service is attentive, and they made sure to ensure we had a great time. One of the best all around experiences I’ve had in new york. The wine selection was unbeatable and our server walked us through the tasting notes as well as allowing us to try different options.

  • Review 5 (2024-01-16 - Rating: 5)

Always impressed and delighted by PDF ❤️ the service, the quality of food, the wine and wine list, and of course, their dessert is always on point! They’ve really created a wonderful dining experience that’s feels very unique and original. Highly recommend!!

  • Review 6 (2023-01-02 - Rating: 5)

One of the best meals I had in 2022. Lovely place, staffs friendly, food are superb. I know lots of people complained about the portion, to me, it actually perfect. I dont like huge plates, rather than small amount, so I can order many dishes. I tried several items on the menu, end up loving all of them. Both me and my friend took recommendations on wine from the staff, it turned out just something we love. Hands down to this place.

  • Review 7 (2022-09-23 - Rating: 4)

I loved it! The ambiance is so special, especially in the back room, more than in the bar area. The wine selection is nice (as expected in a wine bar) and the menu is very interesting. Clear highlights were the sardine toast in all its glorious saltiness and butteriness, the country ham cut very thinly, the little gems that were very above average than a salad and the delicious purslane on the smoked trout. The dessert was more on par with your average restaurant though, and overall I believe the plates err on the expensive side for their sizes, so a customer could get disappointed for the sizes of the dishes when they are claimed to be “main dishes”. Overall loved it and come back (and if Oxalis has a Michelin star, this one definitely should have one too, as it is better in my opinion).

  • Review 8 (2023-06-18 - Rating: 5)

Everything was spot on at Place des Fêtes! Beginning to the end, vibes, service and food, all of stellar quality. The yellow tail tonnato like you never had it before, truly exceptional flavors, magnolia flowers, hiramasa melting on the tongue. Don’t miss the bread and thinly sliced Mortadella! On to Crispy Maitake with black fudge, out of this world. Black Sea bass, skinned grilled, full with flavor, yet so simple. The French pastry dessert left you wanting to come back tomorrow! Astonishing performance.*only note is there are only natural wines, which you have to love. Please add a couple grower champagnes and some biodynamic burgundy and this is complete!

Really nice (smart) name for a restaurant :DCame for my birthday and two other tables around me are celebrating theirs! Nice food, all fresh and very delicate, but also relatively pricey for its size. Warm service and nice atmosphere.Recommendation: Mussels and the SourdoughDessert: Peach and almond tart

  • Review 10 (2023-04-22 - Rating: 5)

Lovely meal!! Comparable to the four horsemen in Williamsburg!!! It’s such a cute wine bar w great drinks and great food!!! Most notably the sardines on toast!

  • Review 11 (2022-06-08 - Rating: 5)

The mushroom had a perfect flavor and texture. Soft and chewy inside, crunchy shell, and creamy sauce. It was such a pleasure to eat! The pork had a great umami, but the portion gets a bit samey so I say its definitely best for sharing. Probably everything here is best shared in fact. The cream puff was decadent, the flavor of the filling too subtle, but with a nice tang.

  • Review 12 (2024-09-04 - Rating: 5)

Wow. Where to begin……Have stopped in for charcuterie, cheese, and wine. This is a great spot for a pre or post dinner treat and wine. However, this is also an amazing place to enjoy a lovely dinner-with a romantic atmosphere and extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff, selecting wine to pare with each dish is easy!I enjoy sitting in the front near the kitchen. It’s a great spot to enjoy conversation while watching the chefs create delicious magic. However, for a more romantic and intimate setting, there is a back dining area. The staff couldn’t be more friendly. You aren’t assigned one server as most restaurants, this restaurant has allEmployees working to insure your evening is perfect. The chefs work non stop to deliver beautiful and delicious plates. No rush here, I spent over 2 hours on my last visit. Menu does change, which is great for new options-but staples stay such as the delicious house made bread. The chefs do an incredible job -I amNot a fan of sardines. However, I ate every bite of their sardine toast. Absolutely delicious. They really know how to use slices and blend flavors to create exciting dishes. One of my favorite places in this area of NY.

  • Review 13 (2022-04-15 - Rating: 5)

Every single aspect of this experience was incredible. Food was spot on, wine list was impressive and service was immaculate. If you have the chance to go please visit.

  • Review 14 (2023-07-24 - Rating: 5)

Portion of the foods is small even desserts are relatively small, but everything I had was delicious. People were so nice, attentive and atmosphere was really cool.

  • Review 15 (2024-07-18 - Rating: 5)

A very delicious small bites meal. Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday — for a large format group they customize a menu and serve family style! Food was great (small and pricey). Notably their seafood was excellent - great to see the two mains on the family style meal both being fish and also featuring seafood starters too.The wine selection was great too, lot of good surprised. Particularly enjoyed their Spanish Grenache and albarino and to finish, a white sherry that was super super super dry. Overall awesome place for dinner, excellent for celebrations. Service was good too. There is only one bathroom so the lines were pretty long. Would definitely come back for another regular meal.

  • Review 16 (2022-11-13 - Rating: 4)

The staff was incredibly sweet! We came here without a reservation and sat at the chefs counter. Their anchovies and cured meats were great. Desserts were also 🔥

  • Review 17 (2024-06-09 - Rating: 5)

Food and wine were all great, service very friendly, and restaurant ambiance similar to Oxalis. The portions are small so make sure you order enough! Fried maitake mushroom was a highlight and the sauce with the potatoes was amazing. Plenty of vegetarian options

  • Review 18 (2024-08-08 - Rating: 5)

Consistently blown away by the level of service and innovative dishes. The moment you walk in you can feel the pride and forethought of every detail presented by the staff. Exceptional on every level, every time!

  • Review 21 (2024-11-23 - Rating: 5)

Delicious meal, excellent service, great vibe. Will be frequenting this place—no notes.

  • Review 22 (2024-09-30 - Rating: 5)

Excellent wine. Great service. Delicious food.Everything we ordered was amazing. The sardine toast was the perfect mix of salty (the fish) and savory (the butter) and tart (the grapefruit kosho). The iberico pork collar and cavatelli were both rich and flavorful, and they complemented each other very well. The choux pastry dessert was not too sweet, with the seasonal grape compote and the creative soba cha cream.Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

  • Review 23 (2024-12-14 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. They change the menu and wine list often, and I keep going back.

  • Review 24 (2024-09-28 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 27 (2024-10-24 - Rating: 5)

This wine bar is delightful. The food is so delicious. Some portions are smaller than others but overall everything was yummy and we left feeling full. Highlights include the sardine toast, the malfadine, and the maitake mushrooms. The wine is superb!Great ambiance for a catch up with friends or a romantic date night. The service was also very welcoming.

  • Review 28 (2024-03-15 - Rating: 5)

Finally got to experience this neighborhood gem! The service was over the top and the ambiance was incredible. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was well thought and delicious. My fav was the special - Dungeness crab pasta. On top of that, the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Such a lovely experience! Except that I wish I wasn’t told the time limit when I walked in - even though I understand some people might stay for a long time as this is a wine bar.

  • Review 29 (2024-01-18 - Rating: 5)

I eat out a lot and this is one of the best restaurants in nyc. Incredible restaurant and amazing staff! Everything we ate was delicious and inventive. Definitely get the crudo with the passion fruit puree. Our entrees were slightly delayed and the whole staff was extremely apologetic and gave us a bunch of extra items to compensate (an app and a dessert). We didn’t mind the slight delay at all and they went above and beyond!

  • Review 30 (2022-05-15 - Rating: 5)

If they keep up the food quality and service like that, you can set the countdown for Michelin Stars.

  • Review 31 (2024-02-13 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely fantastic from the beginning to the end! Made a large party request for my birthday celebration here last minute and thought it might not happen. However, the owner was super efficient and was able to arrange the celebration for me. They made a curated pre-fix menu with my name and birthday message on it, and were also able to make changes for one of my friend with dietary restrictions. Every course was unique with fresh flavor. Cozy atmosphere, unpretentious spot, amazing wine list and seasonal food menu, definitely a great place for a romantic date! Thank you so much for making this happen! I can’t wait to come back again!

  • Review 32 (2024-01-15 - Rating: 5)

We had a birthday party on a Sunday and couldnt be happier. We had a set menu that was just perfect. The wine menu was extensive and the cocktails were finely balanced. Couldnt recommend this place enough. The staff were very welcoming and were on point the whole night.

  • Review 33 (2023-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Oh. My. God. I can’t rave enough about this place. From the quaint, earthy, homey vibes you get in the back dinning room, to the full kitchen experience you get sitting at the counter, this place just oozes warmth. Every item I’ve ordered has been made to perfection. I love their take on the last word cocktail and they have an amazing wine selection. You need to make reservations far in advance - this place is a must if in the NYC area.

I surprised my partner with dinner at Place des Fetes for our eleven-year anniversary. The staff and chefs went above and beyond to make the evening special and solidified the experience as a cherished memory. Thank you so much to the team at PDF!

  • Review 37 (2023-10-17 - Rating: 5)

FANTASTIC. the vibes, service, wine and food were all top notch. I am still dreaming about the chilled mussels.

  • Review 38 (2024-03-28 - Rating: 5)

I’ve never done a review before, but me and my partner had an amazing time here tonight. Just stopped by to have a couple drinks and a snack before heading home. The server, I’m not sure of his name but he was a server in the front section by the bar Wednesday around 8pm. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the wine list and knew all the details about the food we were served. The food runner ran thru each item on the food. Just incredible service. The server picked a fantastic wine I wouldn’t usually go for. The atmosphere was fire. Food 10/10. Recently moved to the area and we’ll be regulars now. Couldn’t rate this place higher. Oh and I also want to mention my partner called ahead and didn’t catch the host, but they called her back in like 1 minute and managed to squeeze us in. You’re running a tight ship!

  • Review 39 (2024-06-18 - Rating: 5)

Best food with comfortable service. Sardine toast was banging

  • Review 40 (2023-05-04 - Rating: 4)

Uber friendly staff, good bread, good wine, good mushrooms. I hate to say it, but nothing blew me away. The ambiance is your typical rustic Brooklyn interior, and prices are $$$ for the portions you get. I was still hungry after the meal and we spent over $130 each (back in April 2022). Overall, didnt feel like it met the immense hype.

  • Review 41 (2024-02-15 - Rating: 5)

Wow! Chef Nico (Oxalis) shines once more at this gem of a spot! From the delectable scallops in butter sauce to the refreshing green goddess salad with chicory, each dish is a testament to culinary artistry. The wagyu tartare tantalized our taste buds, while the Bucatini pasta left us craving more. However, it was the creativity behind the oysters (with passion fruit and habanero, what?!) that stole the show for us with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and a vibey atmosphere make this restaurant an absolute must-visit.

  • Review 42 (2024-05-17 - Rating: 5)

Superb dining experience. Food was excellent, wine was excellent, and service was excellent.

  • Review 43 (2023-10-26 - Rating: 5)

Wow, everything here was amazing !Stopped by on a Wednesday night and it was crowded . I had no reservation and they had a wait list but didn’t take longer than 15min to get a spot at the bar for 1 .Tried most of the highlights of the menu and everything was very well executed . The apple salad with a cheese foam was amazing .They have a good selection of wines and staff is very friendly . I’ll definitely be back with some friends and get a couple bottles .

  • Review 44 (2023-07-09 - Rating: 5)

Really nice French restaurant in Clinton Hill. Highly recommended for some wine and small bites. There are a lot of wine options and all the food is small and to share. It gets busy so try to make a reservation. It might be pricey but the food quality is excellent and all the food is tasty. Excellent service from the waiter.I also really like their branding. Shout-out to their graphic designer.

  • Review 45 (2023-11-01 - Rating: 4)

Food was delicious, I must say. Sat at the bar and the service was a little restless. Like a bunch of overly enthusiastic robots. That was a bit weird. Also the “Fish bits” on the specials (which was market price) when asked what kind of a fish it was, they responded oh just bits of fish.. lolBut props to the kitchen!

  • Review 46 (2022-10-20 - Rating: 5)

Amazing experience. Service was kind and extremely attentive. We ordered half the menu and will be back to try the rest. Nuanced flavors and textures in each dish: smoky, zesty, zingy, earthy. Nothing at all run of the mill.Portions are on the smaller side and prices on the higher side but nothing at all outrageous. Well worth it.

  • Review 47 (2022-08-05 - Rating: 5)

Really delicious options, PHENOMENAL cocktails, stellar service! Cant wait to go back

  • Review 48 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)

Spectacular meal, genuinely one of the best Ive had in my 6+ years of living in NYC. The one drawback is that its very expensive and the portions are very small—still worth it in my opinion, but I was just a bit taken aback to be completely honest.Portugal + northern Spain + southern France meets New American, each dish had many layers of complex flavors: we had tuna tonnato, pictured below, a lovely dunbarton blue with their spectacular sourdough, a charred bean/pea dish with smoked haddock that tasted so good I was worried it had pork in it—my partner is pescatarian—and a lovely well-seasoned pasta. Dessert was great too, with a perfect choux. Everything on the menu (including the impressive wine list) looked spectacular and inviting, I wish I could be back sooner.

  • Review 49 (2023-04-03 - Rating: 5)

The chic sister restaurant / wine bar opened by the Oxalis team with great small plates, some inventive cocktails and a great natural wine list. I once accused the somm at Oxalis for having a hidden camera in my wine fridge and I felt the same way here.

  • Review 50 (2022-07-03 - Rating: 5)

So so delicious. We ordered the mackerel, peas with lardo, mushrooms, Otway bread, and gem salad - and all were exceptional. The real standout for us, though, was the flounder with some kind of green tomato sauce poured over it. I could eat that the rest of my life. (And goes without saying all the wine and vermouth we tried were perfection.) Also, all the staff were so so knowledgable, nice, and generally on it. Cant wait to return.

  • Review 51 (2024-04-26 - Rating: 5)

Had an absolutely superb night at Place Des Fêtes the other night. Prepare to order 2-4 dishes a head and be impressed. The service is also spot on. We stayed for over 3 hrs and they made us feel at home. The wood ear mushrooms + mafaldine combo was perhaps the best thing Ive had this past year. I will certainly be back.Branding is unfortunately forgettable, but the hospitality is certainly not.

  • Review 52 (2022-12-30 - Rating: 5)

Excellent and eclectic food. The open kitchen included chefs who were friendly. I made sure I complimented all of them. The service was impeccable, friendly and the atmosphere was quaint and homelike.A super plus. Can’t wait to go back again.

  • Review 53 (2024-02-15 - Rating: 5)

The Berkshire Country Pork Ribs were out of this world nice. They do a nice caramalized honey glaze that is worth going extreme lengths to eat again. I would crawl on my hands & needs from midtown Manhattan to get another bite of that.

  • Review 54 (2024-12-26 - Rating: 5)

Amazing 10/10nice for a special occasiongood food good wine good service

  • Review 55 (2022-04-01 - Rating: 5)

The wine bar of my dreams. Fresh sustainable seafood, perfectly prepared. The maitake mushroom with the black garlic fudge was one of the most sublime dishes I’ve ever tasted. Delicious desert- definitely try the boule croquante. Unusual but delicious wine, and so beautiful and comfortable I never wanted to leave…

  • Review 56 (2022-09-05 - Rating: 5)

The sister restaurant of Oxalis does not disappoint. With the rustic interiors, open kitchen, and cozy back room, the overall ambiance is more casual, perfect for friends gathering or a weekday date night. The tapas-style dishes lean heavily on seafood, cold and hot. Pairs with seasonal produce, simple seasoning and open grill, everything really highlight the freshness of the fish. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the mussels in squid ink, the smoked garlic sauce for the eggplant, and the grilled yellowtail belly. The food is on the saltier side but is perfect with their house-made sourdough. They also have extensive wine list from Spain and amazing dessert. Overall great experience and would come back every week!

  • Review 57 (2023-04-12 - Rating: 5)

PDF is absolutely fantastic. The rustic and cozy interior along with the super friendly staff go hand in hand with some of the best food Ive had in the city. Mostly small shareable plates, with a super unique wine list, and delicious daily specials that are almost certain to sell out. Perfect for a weeknight date night. The crab toast and bucatini with dried clams were amazing. The staff and service were great, if you have any questions about wine they are super helpful in finding you something youll love. Grab a seat at the bar if you want to watch the open kitchen in action.

  • Review 58 (2022-06-18 - Rating: 5)

Never thought a salad could be that delicious. The little gem salad is a must-order, as well as the pesto! And the flavors of the choux are perfectly balanced - not too sweet, not too tangy, just right. Despite the plates being small, my fiancé and I left feeling full and satisfied. We’ll be back!

  • Review 59 (2024-09-22 - Rating: 5)

One of the best meals we have had in a long time. So precise, well thought out and full of flavour. Thought we were walking into a basic wine bar and was pleasantly surprised with the service and high level of cuisine. An absolute must!

  • Review 60 (2022-10-23 - Rating: 5)

Very yummy. Got a res with a friend for a Friday night. Truly delicious food, wine, and service. Loved the little “character” who adorned all their wine glasses, cute touch. Got the crispy maitake mushroom with black garlic fudge (delicious, not pictured), pork belly in a yummy mustard grain sauce and a yummy fish (can’t remember the kind). All was very good!!

Perhaps one of the best meals I had in 2022 and can’t wait to go back again this year. I walked in, no reservation, for a table for two and we were seated in the bar area right away which was still an excellent experience. The decor feels modern but cozy, slightly rustic. I would truly recommend everything on the menu. The favorite was the crab toast on special. I went for a spontaneous special occasion but I think there’s a way to enjoy a drink and smaller bites for a casual neighborhood night.

We shared 8-10 dishes including 2 desserts; between 4 people. everything was delicious although still was left hungry because all the plates are the same size, even the mains. we thought we would get more quantity for a main dish but still great food.

  • Review 85 (2024-09-28 - Rating: 5)

A neighborhood gem of small sharable plates and wine.

  • Review 86 (2022-05-08 - Rating: 5)

Edit - 2nd time there and just as great. Staff are amazing and they change certain menu items frequently so there is a lot to choose from.So happy they have opened in the neighborhood. Great space, friendly staff & owner, and the food was amazing.Literally all the dishes were great, but the standouts for me were the skate wing and grilled brassica - two of the best dishes I’ve had in a while.Excited to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Impeccable. Delicious. Worth every penny. We loved all the dishes so much that we went there for a second and third time on the same day.

  • Review 90 (2022-04-21 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful dining experience. They were completely booked on Resy, but I took a chance and called them directly! They were able to squeeze my party of 2 in at prime time at the best counter seats. Great atmosphere, stunning wine lists and amazing food. The service was amazing- not rushed, and every suggestion was great. Our favorite dish was the little gem lettuce. Sounds simple but was so full of flavor!Great for date night and hours long catch ups with old friends.

  • Review 91 (2022-04-09 - Rating: 4)

Very cute experience with delicate food. I went on the fourth day opening and sat at the bar and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Kudos to the hostess, she said bye and my name when I left, really making it personable. A much needed experience in the neighborhood!

  • Review 92 (2022-07-22 - Rating: 4)

The good: out of this world gnocchi, maitake, awesome spin on a Last Word cocktail, great serviceThe bad: overpriced for portion size (wine pours, trout), too loud in front area (I’m loud and server had a hard time hearing me), gimmicky (pour your own dashi over fish?)Overall didn’t quite live up to the hype but I love what they’re going for

  • Review 93 (2022-12-21 - Rating: 4)

This is a good place to drink a few bottles of wine and have some apps. I wouldn’t recommend having a full dinner here bc you will def need a cheesesteak afterwards to fill up

  • Review 94 (2023-06-14 - Rating: 5)

Finally decided to come in for an event being held with an amazing winemaker, and we’re outraged we didn’t make our way in sooner. Food was extraordinary and healthy portions too. We sat at the bar and the service from the runners to manager was immaculate. Scheming on our next time over

    Special food and warm service.

  • Review 96 (2022-09-19 - Rating: 5)

The entire menu is meant to be shared, and every item is an absolute banger. The online menu is only a subset of what they have to offer, which, they say, changes often.

  • Review 97 (2022-05-28 - Rating: 5)

A gem! Wine was excellent and the pesto ramp pasta was amazing. Great selections of fish/sea food.

  • Review 98 (2022-04-09 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 99 (2022-11-27 - Rating: 4)

It was a nice dining experience overall, service and food were good. But everything we ordered was brown, and we got like 8 dishes. A little splash of color would have been nice. The sauces were a tad acidic as well.

  • Review 102 (2024-02-06 - Rating: 5)

We had the most amazing dining experience at Places De Fetes! The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The menu offered a unique variety, and the food was nothing short of exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary and must have been wished a happy anniversary by no less than ten staff members.Whether youre a food enthusiast or simply looking for a fantastic meal, I highly recommend Places De Fetes. It exceeded all my expectations, and I cant wait to return!

  • Review 103 (2022-04-25 - Rating: 5)

Place des Fetes nails it.They offer primarily Spanish and Chilean wines paired with creative seafood dishes, and the concept is well executed. The skate wing dish and the mussels in squid ink were the hits on the night, but nothing disappointed. The service is friendly, helpful and engaging and the space is inviting enough to eat alone at the bar.

  • Review 104 (2024-05-07 - Rating: 5)

Love the environment and the waitstaff was so attentive and ready to answer any question we had. Everything we had was delicious. I wish I could tell you everything we had, my friend ordered. But the salad, Pasta, lamb and the sourdough bread is a must have.

  • Review 105 (2022-10-12 - Rating: 5)

Best dinner I’ve had in awhile, the natural wine list is also incredible. Must go.

  • Review 106 (2024-06-06 - Rating: 5)

My favorite restaurant in the city. It is such a special experience coming here. The service is top notch - I had reserved a table for my birthday and was greeted with a handwritten note and champagne. Our server took the time to explain multiple wines to us and recommended dishes to pair. Every dish that came out was perfectly balanced, innovative, and delicious. The maitake mushrooms are a must order, as well as the grilled sugar snap peas (and I dont even like peas!!). The most perfect dessert came in the form of chocolate choux craquelin with miso caramel. Never felt rushed and had just such a lovely night. I cant recommend this place enough.

  • Review 110 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)

We recently had our wedding anniversary dinner here and it was perfect. The stand-out dishes were the anchovie toast and the steak tartar. Its pretty hard to f up a negroni and equally as hard to make a really good one. I had the latter. Thank you chef. And thank you to the wonderful front of house team that showed us a genuine sense of hospitality.

  • Review 111 (2022-12-20 - Rating: 4)

Cozy spot for small plate yummy eats.Highlight food wise for me was the special (pictured below on the left), the sourdough with sicilian olive oil and the Tempesta Mortadela. We also got the maitake mushroom, carpenter wheel goat milk, guanciale country ham.The wine selection of Reds by the glass was a bit too light for my liking, but the white wine selection was much better so Id go with that next time!

  • Review 112 (2022-08-19 - Rating: 5)

Every dish was superb. Cant wait to go back. Delighted that this is in my neighborhood :)

  • Review 113 (2023-12-19 - Rating: 5)

We made a reservation with friends who live nearby and I was looking forward to trying this place as I had heard great things. The food was fresh, simple, and flavorful. Our server recommended the ordering of the courses based on what we selected and did a wonderful job explaining the items and specials. Our personal favorites were the Spicy Squash Rigatoni and the Brown Butter Scallops special, which even my husband who doesn’t eat seafood loved. The atmosphere was cozy and warm as well, although it appeared there was a little more room to spread out in the back room. The front was a little tight but not terrible for small parties. We can’t wait to try more and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well priced, fresh and delicious food!

  • Review 119 (2023-12-02 - Rating: 5)

TL;DR: Get a reservation here before they get their first Michelin star. The drink menu is outstanding. Great wine and stellar cocktails. The food is so unique that at first glance it feels a little out there, but that’s the beauty of it. You’ve never tried food like this (in the best way) and everything is delicious. Desserts were also insane.Definitely on the pricier side, but worth it if you’re looking for a night of casual opulence, a special occasion, or a place to start out the evening with a delicious and unique experience.

Do you enjoy good food? If so, keep looking- only come here if you enjoy GREAT food. AMBITIOUS food, wine and gourmet delicacies. Place des Fêtes takes gourmandery seriously. Come here hungry and ready to pair rare dishes and find compelling compilations for the adventurous palate. Wine bar does not do this place justice as a title - Gourmand destination is far superior a nomenclature.

  • Review 125 (2023-09-19 - Rating: 5)

The wine bar is a delightful escape for wine enthusiasts. The selection of wines is impressive, and the cozy ambiance is perfect for enjoying a glass with friends or a romantic evening. Cheers to a wonderful wine experience! 🍷

I made a reservation as a gift for a friend visiting NYC from the Netherlands with her daughter. A last hurrah together given an unfortunate illness. The food and experience was delightful. But the generosity she recieved was astounding. The team surprised them with a meal on the house. We were totally floored by this gesture and hope this kindness will be paid back 100 times over!

  • Review 130 (2023-10-27 - Rating: 5)

One of the best culinary experiences I have had in 2023. Everything this restaurant does is with intention. The space is charming, the staff is on point and aware of the customers needs and the service is impeccable. The mushroom pancake is a must, just for the sauce. ANY dish with a sauce is well deserved. Why? Their bread game is fantastic and a must to dip in all their sauces. The butterfish with smoked butter & tomato sauce was one of the best dishes I have had and I wanted more. I really wished I brought a large group of friends to try the whole menu. The wine list is fantastic and harkens to the Catalonian small dishes that inspire this restaurant. Its adventurous, fun and delicious.Id drive from Boston again, just to dine here. An ultra casual spot with a fine dining pedigree? Sign me up...just as long as I can try all the sauces!

  • Review 131 (2022-12-16 - Rating: 5)

Just amazing! Went for a friends birthday - first reservation on a rainy night. Every single person working here was the sweetest! They treated us to a free celebratory glass of bubbles for her birthday and we had the best spot at the back on the bar seats and got first hand feedback on all the good food being made. The food was delicious we had almost one of everything and the desserts were bananas amazing - so full! They had a special of tempura fried shrimp that was honestly the best shrimp I’ve ever had — and they let us taste the two cheeses on the dessert menu. Can’t wait to go back!

  • Review 132 (2024-05-14 - Rating: 4)

The vibe at Place des Fetes is fantastic. Out of 5 dishes, 2 were standouts - the sardine toast and the Maitake mushrooms w black garlic.Sauce for carrots- A+. Dish as a whole, okay. Jonah crab dish was pretty underwhelming. The skate dish was very nice - probably a better dish for 4 than 2, I wish they served it with more of the sauce.I’ll be back!Returned a year later - mushrooms still great. The menu was stronger this time around. The Choux was delicious. Crispy lamb very good- could use one more ingredient. I think place des fetes edited the menu slightly and polished off a couple dishes it could be a really stellar experience.

Loved my experience here and highly recommend it! Went for an early birthday celebration and the food and service were impeccable. We were sat at the bar and had a first look at the plates going out. One of the chefs was kind enough to answer our questions about the menu and give us a few tastes. The place was bustling, but never too loud. Will definitely be back.

Incredible. We walked in on a Sunday night without a reservation and a table was available in 15 minutes. Highlights were the sardine toast, the mackerel special, and my glass of cauzon. Want to return and try the maitake.Service was unparalleled. We brought our 6 month old baby who they were incredibly accommodating towards. We asked for the food to come out as fast as possible as we were approaching his bedtime, and all our food came out within 30 minutes. Baby started getting rowdy towards the end of dinner, so dad took him home, and after they left the manager poured me a glass of sparkling wine on the house 😂. This is our new favorite place in the neighborhood, and we will be returning over and over again!

We had late reservations and requested if we could be squeezed in early, the host was so gracious and accommodating. The service after that only got better. We ordered roughly 7 plates and left stuffed bc we ate every last bit of the food. The highlights were the mussels and bone-in ray wing for us but everything was a must try. Great addition to the neighborhood. We will definitely be frequent goers.

  • Review 150 (2023-06-02 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely stan this restaurant... probably one of my favorite openings in the past couple years. Feels like some of the best nattie wine bars in Paris / Spain. First off, before you even order, look at the specials chalk board. Do you see anything labeled Fish Bits? If so, order it, before cocktails even. Just get it queued up as they sell out fast and are always excellent. Then you can leisurely figure out which cocktail to get, because theyre mostly all tweaked classics and all delightful (all served down in elegant glassware). Particularly partial to The Last Word with Faccia Brutto Centerbe instead of Chartreuse. You must order the sardine toast (an ode to Le Servan?), any take on sashimi, any salad, maybe some country ham, and any pasta. During tomato season, keep an eye out for the sungold malfadine (?). Desserts are small, somewhat newfangled, and top notch. The choux au craquelin rotates seasonally and is a must. The sorbet doesnt slouch either. Oh, and wine! A small, highly curated list of mostly Spanish bangers, with a smattering of other origins for color. Extremely affordable compared to other restaurants of this caliber. Ask for the somm, and let them put you into some short maceration sumoll or a super-aromatic malvasia de sitges. Maybe youll even get the rooster decanter 🫣. The only downside is theyre busy, so its hard to snag a res sometimes, and it can be loud (i.e. FUN). Dont sleep!

Went here for a Fancy Dinner and it delivered. Sardine toast and the eel-fat pasta carbonara special were the standouts. We walked in on a Friday evening, put our name on the list, and had barely enough time for a cocktail next door at Izzy Rose before there was a spot for us at the bar.

All of our food was delicious, especially the anchovies, kanpachi, and crispy maitake mushrooms. And the desserts are some of the best Ive ever had at a restaurant.
