One of my favorite places that I visited in NY! I can’t remember our servers name but he was amazing. Very friendly, Knowledgeable and helped us with some great picks! The place is funky, eccentric and they had soooo many great options. So many wines that you may not find on a regular basis. The small bites we had were also delicious. Beef tartare, deviled eggs and the Korean chicken wings. It was a wonderful experience with my girls and we will definitely be back! -

This wine bar was recommended in a bunch of places online as one of the best in NYC and it didn’t disappoint! The selection of wine is almost overwhelmingly large (a literal binder of options) and the place had a really fun vibe. The food we got (burger and fries) was also very good! Would love to come back and try some more of the varieties of wine! -

What every wine bar should aspire to be. Amazing selection, with great descriptions of the wines on the list, and a staff thats knowledgeable and willing to offer suggestions (not that Id expect anything less given owner Paul Griecos history). Fantastic food. If I still lived in town Id be here at least once a week after work. -
Review 4 (2024-11-23 - Rating: 5)
The best wine bar in the city!Great unpretentious wine bar that specializes in Riesling (I prefer dry Riesling that has high acidity), but has everything, even tap beer and cocktails. Staff will help you navigate the eclectic wine menu. Laid back and fun.Ok, lets talk about the food... This is not your typical bar food. This place could stand toe-to-toe with the best restaurants in New York City. Chef Bryce always has something special up his sleeve. The menu changes monthly-ish. Try the duck!Terroir = FamilyIm thankful for you as well, Paul 💕❤️ -

I was in NYC for a work trip and went here on a friend’s recommendation and I’m SO glad I did! I had an amazing night even by myself - the owner is so knowledgeable about wines and the menu is so fun! Highly recommend! -
Review 6 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 4)
Always a delight! Terrior is more about discovering new and interesting wines (and other drinks!) than it is about getting the bang for your buck or reuniting with an old favorite. The highlight of the experience is paging through the brick of a menu book with eclectic descriptions of the wines and plenty of drinks education tuck throughout.Of course with a menu so large they’re always going to be out of a couple things which can be a bummer. The food here is good but the prices are steep. We thought we’d be picking at the $60+ 2 meat 2 cheese plate but it was gone pretty quickly. We supplemented it with deviled eggs which were tasty and piled high with filling.Definitely a fun and memorable experience trying new drinks and reading about the history of fermentation from the “menu” worth a stop, especially during late night happy hour where prices on wine drop a dollar or two -

Great place for happy hour drinks! Came here for a holiday party - service was amazing ! Super cute back section, cozy, and great location! -
Review 8 (2023-08-16 - Rating: 5)
Fun place to stop for a small bite and glass of wine. The wine menu is SERIOUS! they have tons of wines from different regions and grape varieties, super unique options. Id recommended the Italian red flight, this was so good! -
Review 9 (2024-10-26 - Rating: 5)
Dress up or dress casual nobody cares which is why I love this place! Down to earth people with remarkable knowledge on wine!Such a fun place to grab a couple of small plates and some wine. And they even let me do magic for their customers :) -
Review 10 (2019-11-07 - Rating: 5)
Excellent wine bar with many good wine choices. The charcuterie and cheeses they have are excellent. The best part is the service. Specially Jake. He went was exceptional. I could taste any bottle and for every wine he ensured I like it before serving it. It was a very pleasant experience. Sole of the wines were not good but most were and since you can try you are sure to pick something to your taste. They do have beer and other drinks as well. Prices are also very good for Manhattan. Go early for 2 reasons: it gets very crowded and noisy; happy hour 4-6. -
Review 11 (2024-06-19 - Rating: 5)
Such a great place with such a great wine collection. Staff is so dedicated to offering you a good selection of wine, got questions? They are more than happy to help!!you can see the dedication they have to wines, since the moment you open the binder that is their menu. It’s a book,a book with all the information they have about all their wines, and they update it periodically.Such great selection of wines coming from so parts of the world. Love this place. -
Review 12 (2024-12-04 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite wine bars in NYC! They have an exceptional wine selection, with a particular emphasis on Rieslings. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. They even offer blind tastings, which add a fun and interactive element to the experience. The food is consistently excellent, especially their impressive selection of cheeses. A must-visit! -
Review 13 (2023-05-29 - Rating: 5)
Awesome wine bar with a punk attitude and great wine selection. Have a ton of stuff available by the glass and in tasting pours so you can sample a wide variety of wines. Great places to get drinks and a snack before dinner or to have a meal. Although I only visited NYC this will be one of the spots I return to whenever I’m back again! -
Review 14 (2022-09-17 - Rating: 5)
A real gem in tribeca. This wine bar boasts friendly, expert staff that can help you find a great wine and help you learn about new wine. Food is excellent and consistent great over the years. Great place to get a nice glass of wine and people watch! -
Review 15 (2023-08-29 - Rating: 5)
Very friendly staff who is happy to recommend pairings. We had a large party so ordered about half the menu and everything was free food! Oysters were fresh and the meats and cheeses were all excellent. -
Review 16 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 5)
We were preparing for a wine tasting trip to Alsace, and the folks at Terroir helped us drive into some of the major producers. If you like to drink and learn, this is a great place to visit! -
Review 17 (2023-03-02 - Rating: 5)
Over 100+ wines by the glass. The most informative, insane, diverse wine list you’ve ever seen in your life. Good vibes and people. Come in for a glass, stay for the bottle. -
Review 18 (2024-02-19 - Rating: 5)
I was in NYC solo on a work trip last week and I came to Terroir for dinner 3 of those nights, which is complete testament to the team who work here. The food bangs - I was served by a different member of the team each night but every one of them was warm, informative + engaging - special stuff. In a city full of great bars, Terroir shines as a wine bar that knows its stuff and isnt afraid to show it, but in a charming, chilled + warm way. The wine list is huge + exciting, and every time I was ordering a dish the team recommended what would go best with it by the glass. Im sure if I came with friends Id get the same great advice on their bottle list. Come here if you love wine, and come here if youre not quite sure you do, because youll leave loving it.Will be my first stop when Im back in the city for sure. -
Review 19 (2017-09-02 - Rating: 5)
Great down-to-earth wine bar with phenomenal selections and a well-trained staff. Came for the dry Riesling and wasnt disappointed a bit. However, wines can get pricey, but understandably so. -
Review 20 (2024-07-30 - Rating: 5)
One of the coziest bars I keep going back to. Staff is amazing and so are the wine selections. -
Review 21 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)
SUMMER OF RIESLING IS BACK BABY!! If I could give 10 stars for service here, I would. Paul is a super funny, great guy. He chats with the customers when he has time, and that makes the experience even better. My girlfriend read the menu from start to finish, it’s a work of art. -
Review 22 (2021-06-06 - Rating: 5)
SO GOOD! NH mice in NYC, trying wines we cannot get in our state, and the food....wow! And Clyve, our wait person/Somm for the night - all the right recommendations, and everything paired well together. Looking forward to our next visit! -
Review 23 (2022-11-20 - Rating: 5)

Review 24 (2021-10-06 - Rating: 5)
If youre looking for a place to get wine.. this is one of those place that you should visit if your in around Tribeca. Bartender really knows about wine. -
Review 25 (2024-11-20 - Rating: 5)
This place is amazing! Visiting NYC with friends and you can not ask for a better wine experience. The owner Paul is so friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell that wine is his passion. Paul can tell you the origin of the wines, the soil conditions and how the food paired. Highly recommended! -
Review 26 (2024-06-16 - Rating: 5)
Excellent place for a wine lover, with a fun and extensive wine list. -
Review 27 (2023-09-05 - Rating: 5)

Review 28 (2024-03-18 - Rating: 5)
I can not think of a single thing that’s close to “not that good”. This place deserves a 10 star rating imo -
Review 29 (2020-03-14 - Rating: 5)
Current inventory includes a 1907 Madeira. I had the Camenere flight and the 1999 Madeira. Busy busy place but worth it. I only wish my trip to NYC was longer. Please add Terrior to your To Do list. -
Review 30 (2024-08-19 - Rating: 5)
This was a solid 4.5. Kyle was the best wine curator and explained so much about the menu (and even bottles not listed on their menu).I’d say the food is pretty mediocre but good enough to pair with your wine choices.Atmosphere is on the brighter side for it being a wine focused restaurant. I’d prefer slightly dimmer lights but this felt unique and less serious (think: casual bar food and great choices of wine). -
Review 31 (2024-08-27 - Rating: 5)
Overall, what every wine bar should be. Theres a huge list of by the glass selections. Awesome amount of choice, including many wines you wont see in many places. The entire staff was friendly and more than willing to share their favorites or recommendsomething if you tell them what you like. They seem to have a clientele of many regulars who were also very friendly. If Cheers were a wine bar, it would be this. -
Review 32 (2022-02-15 - Rating: 5)
An amazing place. I inquired about a private wine tasting via an online form; and, almost immediate received a response from Emily in their events department. I told her the wine preferences me and my husband had, and wow...they really hit the nail on the head. We loved some of them so much, we took pictures and are hoping to be able to find it somewhere!I really have to give Joel, the sommelier who hosted us, a huge shout-out. He was fantastic. Easy to chat with; and, he made us feel right at home. He guided us through the tasting expertly. We really appreciated his timing of everything, too. He not only didnt rush us, but always seemed to know the right moments to come over and continue the conversation. It was clear he was knowledgeable and passionate about wine. Its clear when you meet some people that theyre meant to do the work that they do. Joel is definitely meant to work in hospitality--the kind of people person you feel like youve known all along! We cannot wait to return to Terroir! -
Review 33 (2021-06-04 - Rating: 5)
I do like The format and The place ... amazing choise of Wines ... good The cuisine -
Review 34 (2019-07-25 - Rating: 5)
This place is amazing. The staff is really knowledgeable, accommodating, and the opposite of pretentious. I couldn’t decide on what I wanted so our server brought out 3 or 4 different wines for me to try. Also their pours are very healthy. If you are of a certain age ( >40 but < 60) you will appreciate the amazing selection of 80’s alternative music (Echo and the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, The Smith’s) all curated by the owner who is a really cool and super knowledgeable about wine and music. -
Review 35 (2024-05-02 - Rating: 5)
A unique wine bar with a great selection -
Review 36 (2022-07-02 - Rating: 4)
Great little bar with some of the most “by the glass” I have ever seen. The Bible of wine selection was awesome, uniquely designed and comical! The staff was very knowledgeable. Great place to see what you like and don’t like in the wine world! -
Review 37 (2023-10-07 - Rating: 5)
Our server/wine guide Kyle was amazing and so helpful. He introduced us to so many weird and great wines. What a cool spot! -
Review 38 (2021-07-23 - Rating: 5)
Fantastic experience - Jamba was a fantastic waitress and Paul is also an incredible character. We had a great time learning about the menu and wine from them - tip, ask them what wine to go with (the wine menu is purposely intimidating). Burger and the pigs in the blanket were great as well. Will certainly be returning now that we’re in the neighborhood. Cheers! -
Review 39 (2024-04-22 - Rating: 5)
Literally anything you can order on the menu is amazing. Youll be happiest if you have an idea of what you like and you turn it over to the staff to pick what youll be eating and drinking. -
Review 40 (2024-05-10 - Rating: 5)
A cool wine-bar. Knowledgable and helpful staff. -
Review 41 (2022-11-20 - Rating: 5)
Came here for a night out for a business dinner outing and i loved it! Our server was very knowledgeable about wine and knew the best one to give me based on my flavor profile. I went with the Badalucco de la Iglesia Garcia - Grillo Verde 16, which was an amber wine that tasted so good!I ended up getting a bottle to go for home. In addition to wine, we tried a bunch of their tapas and charcuterie board items. My personal favorite were the mortadellas and the potatoes, which were both delicious!Overall, great spot for anyone thats a wine connoisseur and are looking for a good place to enjoy variety of wine! -
Review 42 (2022-06-06 - Rating: 5)
I have visited Terroir a few times with the gf and loved every trip. Wine selection is great & staff are extremely knowledgeable. I chose to come here for a wine tour I organised last Saturday and Emily was extremely supportive in putting together a 2 hour event outside for us. Our server on the day was Travis (hope ive got that right) and it was fantastic. Everyone had a great time, loads of top quality wines, and good food. One of the best wine bars in NYC! -
Review 43 (2018-11-12 - Rating: 5)
Probably the best wine bar I have ever been to. The wine itself was fantastic (they got me to truly enjoy a Malbec!) but beyond the delicious, extensive and one of a kind selection, the service is what really steals the show. Paul and his crew gave us a night and experience to remember! They master the art of understanding the customer and matching them to their dream wine. I will be back every single time I am in NYC. Count on it! -
Review 44 (2021-09-27 - Rating: 5)
Come for the happy hour, stay for the incredible wine list. The frozen pisco sour and the frose were both delicious & the happy hour price was solid. The wine list is extensive (be ready to dive in), but the servers are very knowledgeable and can give great recommendations on glasses of wine based on what you generally like. -
Review 45 (2018-04-01 - Rating: 5)

I had two and a half days in Manhattan on a layover.Im a wine nerd. Could have gone to many different wine bars.Came here twice and nowhere else.If youre a wine enthusiast or not, the knowledge and passion of the staff will impress. Talking to the owner, Paul, was a blast.Very reasonable pricing and very, very unique menu that is great reading as a textbook, editorial, and tasting notes of the wines on the menu. -
Review 55 (2019-09-28 - Rating: 5)
What a perfect place. The wine selection is unmatched in both value and enlightenment. The oysters are beautiful and their in-house made sauces perfectly accent them. I wish we could also figure out the secret to the popcorn. You cant land in a better place than Terrior! -
Review 56 (2015-12-22 - Rating: 4)
My wife and four friends stumbled upon this restaurant while in the area. It had good reviews on Yelp and they took our large group in with no issues or reservations. We sat on a high, long table and each ordered different things. My wife, one friend, and I split a cheese plate and meats. We asked the server to surprise us and he brought us out an amazing (and diverse) selection of cheeses and meats (Including boar meat!). My Delaware friend ordered their meat ball sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she had in her life. By the looks of the sandwich, it was hard to believe, but when my Delaware friend says she loves something, it is objectively the best! They also have an expensive beer, wine, and CIDER list. If youre in the area, stop by Terroir Tribeca! -
Review 57 (2021-08-29 - Rating: 5)
Overall five stars - food was quite good, service was helpful and very good. Great opportunity to try a number of different wines. Didnt have a great selection of sparkling - and the ones they had were not terribly good - but appreciate that this may be due to Covid so would not impact my rating or desire to return! -
Review 58 (2016-11-20 - Rating: 4)
Ive loved this place for a long time. As a huge fan of Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, etc. youll be hard pressed to find such a wine list anywhere else in NYC. The ambience is low key but the staff super knowledgeable. Just wish that the recent changeover of food menus hadnt happened. The old menu was so much more appealing! It still serves small plates, but the go-tos that seemed to be loved by all are no longer on the menu. -
Review 59 (2024-10-27 - Rating: 5)
Great, busy athmosphere! Great food (Empanadas, Arrancini, Brussels sprouts, Cauliflower, Smashburger)! Extraordinary selection of wine (especially Riesling)! Highly recommended! -

Review 61 (2019-08-21 - Rating: 5)
The BEST wine bar we went to NYC. The sommelier Zoey was the most knowledgeable, funny, charming, charismatic I’d ever met, everything she suggested was perfect and her service style was amazing. As a group we were so impressed with the bar, the wines by the glass was insane and the service. Highly recommend to anyone, tourist or local and someone, promote ZOEY!!! -

Review 79 (2024-07-02 - Rating: 5)
Every time we go to Terroir we have the time of our lives.Last week we tasted rieslings from around the world, with a blind tasting of old world/new world. Yesterday we were thrilled to be in the prescence of wine celebrity Paul Grieco who created an unforgettable experience for our group, teaching us about the ripeness of the riesling grape variety, massive Oregon mountains, and pairing wines to movies.Simply obsessed. -
Review 80 (2019-04-08 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite locations. Tom was super friendly, and I appreciated the great service and conversation. As part of the industry myself, I know how difficult it is to maintain the balance of good service and good hospitality and their staff does an excellent job. Wine list is great, and the menu is a hoot to read. Great spot for conversation. You can relax and unwind here with no worries. -

Review 122 (2022-08-07 - Rating: 5)
Wine nerd paradise. Enormous BTG list, new selections all the time, encyclopedic bottle list. This place is all in on fine wine appreciation. The food is good too. Service is stellar, nothing but passionate employees that love to drink wine and share it with guests. -
Review 123 (2023-05-28 - Rating: 5)
We enjoyed every bite, sip, and minute of our dinner here. The service was perfect, the food was lovely, the prices reasonable (for NYC in 2023!), and the wine list amazing. Just reading through the wine binder is an entertaining education, and getting to try some of their reislings and understanding, yes, their terroir - I learned a lot. Also, oysters! A wonderful evening. -
Review 124 (2023-02-12 - Rating: 5)
Overall, nuts to bolts the coolest wine bar Ive ever been to. The details in their wine list and passion from the owner and employees is unmatched and Terroir does it in an unpretentious way which is hard with wine. Steven helped me out and his passion and enthusiasm for wine and life in general really inspires me. The review that stands out the most to me is a guy was a big wine fan, had two days in nyc and came to terroir back to back nights. Says everything you need to know. -
Review 125 (2023-05-21 - Rating: 5)

Really fun place if you like wine. Huge and and funny menu - though it was also easy just to get great recommendations from the bartender. Nice menu of charcuterie and small plates so you can also definitely do a meal here. The lamb meatballs were particularly good. -

Review 130 (2022-05-07 - Rating: 5)
Recommended by the Shinola shop around the corner. Walked in to a great vibe and ambiance. A server offered a free glass of wine to a person seated at the bar if she would move so we could have three seats together. Already getting a great feeling about this place! Have a seat and order wine and my friend decided she’d like a t-shirt and a few minutes later the owner, Paul, comes over and spends the next 20 minutes tasting wine with us and completely entertaining us. He kept his eye on everything the entire time, you can tell he really wants everyone to have great service and the best time, which we did. We didn’t eat, but the food looked amazing. We will definitely go back when next in Manhattan. -
Review 131 (2022-09-13 - Rating: 5)

Review 132 (2022-02-13 - Rating: 5)
I almost never have a clear idea what wine I’m going to order when I take a seat here. I put my trust in the staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and quick to offer a taste of the wine for you to try before you commit to a full pour. The rice balls are delish snacks - perfect combo of texture and and saltiness. Communal tables in the back get crowded and lively after work. -
Review 133 (2023-03-21 - Rating: 5)
Excellent wine bar offering tastings of a large section with a focus of riesling, the flights of riesling ans pinot noir were interesting and fairly priced. The good was excellent, especially the steak tartare. We will certainly return. -

Review 144 (2022-11-28 - Rating: 5)
What a wonderful and memorable experience for my first time at Terroir. Ive been wanting to go for a while now and finally got the chance. Jamba and Stephen were generous with their knowledge and service (and wine!) Jamba was the best host and got us started with a delightful Riesling flight and took into my account my ask for an Auslese or Spatlese to finish off the flight. The 2003 Kesselstat was delightful, as was the 2018 Auslese she brought out later as a surprise. Stephen took over the second half of the evening as our friends joined us and could not have been more knowledgeable or helpful to our friends who werent as well versed in wine.A special place, with special people. -
Review 145 (2018-04-23 - Rating: 5)
Love this little wine bar! Have been with a few groups of girlfriends and we always have a great time. Extensive wine selection with small bites on the menu (tasty food). Servers are very knowledgeable and can suggest various wines based on what you’re looking for. Would highly recommend for happy hour! -

Review 147 (2021-05-23 - Rating: 5)
The most wonderful spot if you love wine, are a casual wine drinker, or just learning! Selection of so many delicious and interesting wines with amazing staff who are excited to help you find a wine you like, and talk all about the wines they bring. -
Review 148 (2016-03-04 - Rating: 5)
The wine list was exceptional, so full of interesting choices, none of which disappointed. We took a fair swing at their food too, trying everything from their lamb sausage to their orange-glazed chicken wings, to the hearty selection of breads, butters, cheeses, and meats. As a visiting wine professional from Seattle I was in heaven. Their food and wine menus alone would be enough to win them Fine Wines 2015 Worlds Best Wine Bar award, but the best part of my experience there had to have been Paul and Sabrina. They were knowledgeable about the wine they poured and friendly without being over-bearing. I asked them to put together some flights for my date and I and the wines were just perfect. So if you do not like wine, you must go for their staff will change your mind. If you do like wine, you must go to what I assume will be 2016s best Wine Bar in the world. And if you love wine, then you need to make a pilgrimage. Terroir is truly the holy land. -

Review 153 (2018-05-06 - Rating: 5)
Whats not to love. Best wine bar in NYC. Hands down. Wine list is exceptional. Every wine on the list is picked with care, none will disappoint. And the staff is knowledgeable and helpful pointing you in the right direction. Food is good, not great, mostly light pairing fare. Expensive but worth it for exceptional wine in a quirky ambience that isnt haughty or condescending. Love it. -
Review 154 (2017-06-02 - Rating: 4)
Excellent selection of wines with an inclination for Rieslings and a menu that serves as a primer on each of the wines it offers. Written in quirky language and with an inclination for comedic effect, youll spend plenty of time reading the menu long after you order. The space has the energy of a traditional bar during important games more than a wine bar, but overall it is a great place to unwind and enjoy the crowd. -
Review 155 (2018-09-11 - Rating: 5)
The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. I visited during the Summer of Riesling, and the waiter perfectly paired one Riesling with my meal and another Riesling with my dates meal. As a former wine pairing skeptic, it was a great experience! -

Best wine bar in NYC, no contest. -
Review 160 (2018-10-11 - Rating: 5)
Just about the best wine bar in the city. Attractive, classy, comfortable space in one of the citys most posh districts, befitting of the beverage being poured. But the formality ends there. As a matter of fact, you might as well be hanging out in your partially psychotic friends apartment. Deliciously iconoclast, witty t-shirts, ridiculous menu descriptions, over abundance of puns, obscure cultural references, and all.The only reverence for anything in this shop is the grape juice in the glass, and Terroir isnt messing around.Because guess what? The wine is YUMMYYou might want to stick around for a few rounds. -
Review 161 (2014-04-03 - Rating: 5)
This is a great spot to meet 2-3 people for a glass of wine at happy hour, or a cozy date. Happy hour deals are great, and theres a huge variety of wines to try at any time. The bartenders really know their stuff -- so if you dont know what to try, theyll be able to recommend something perfect for you! -

Review 170 (2016-10-03 - Rating: 5)
Just what you want from an actual bar that serves wine and not just another restaurant calling itself a wine bar: go sit at the bar, enjoy the snacks and dig into the broad and very well represented wine list with entries from pretty much all over. Organic, bio, macerated or conventional? You got it. Knowledgeable staff and good, oldschool bar atmosphere. -
Review 171 (2019-12-30 - Rating: 5)
Very cool wine bar with some interesting takes on wine and heaps of info so you can school yourself and what youre drinking. Great staff, great fun. -
Review 172 (2021-08-14 - Rating: 5)
I recommend leaving your wallet at home and only bringing a prepaid gift card. The prices are fair, but the selection is sofa king good that you wont stop ordering glasses of rare vin jaune, so that when the bill arrives youll realize that youve consumed your leisure/food budget for the month and spilled into your yankee candle money, so now you cant afford the black market mango juul pods from the local bodega and youre already strapped for cash since your exs password stopped working for hbomax. And definitely taste some of the dry riesling! -
