Delicious Italian food with the best pasta filled with flavor. Vegetarian options like minestrone soup filled with vegetables and of course pasta with vegetables. Large indoor and outdoor seating perfect for large parties. Great spot on the upper west side. The place had good food, wines and ambience. I thoroughly enjoyed my seafood magic, pulled with some Montepulciano! The dessert selection coupled with the port wine was a nice touch.

I ordered last minute take out since our original choice for food was a no show. Veal Marsala & Spaghetti w/oil and garlic, Chicken Parm w/Angel Hair & Tre Colori. Everything was really good and they served very generous portions. If I had to knock anything, veal could have been cooked with more Marsala. I would say they are the best Italian restaurant within 20 blocks except for Parm who doesnt serve veal or linguine w/garlic and oil. Well be back!

We landed in NYC after 24 hours of flying from Australia. We were tired but needed to stay awake for a few more hours. So we found Il Gusto! We walked in and immediately felt at home. The food was simple but tasty, nourishing and comforting. Service was exceptional. The restaurant changed hands only recently. We have visited it 3 times in a week and every time it has been bustling with activity. Very eclectic clientele - many locals. We had some great conversations with people around us. I wish Gus and his team the best as they continue to develop this fine local eatery.

My husband and I had a great experience here! The food was flavorful, large portions, and came out very quickly. The service was nice and the Sangria was delicious! Probably my favorite Italian place in NYC. It definitely has more of a southern Italian taste to it (heavier sauces), which is my personal preference. We almost didnt go here because of a lot of the reviews, but Im so glad we did! Well be going back! We got the gnocchi in a tomato cream sauce and the veal parmesan. Highly recommend! As far as the price, very typical for NYC, but you will be full after your entree; they are not stingy.

Our visiting our party of four consisted of 3 world travelers and two who have been to Italy enjoyed our stay at Trattoria iL Gusto. The atmosphere was very traditional for a Italian restaurant and wine bar. We had an erray of Italian food but the lamb chops were amazing. Topped with Tiramisu and a double espresso end our afternoon with a thought of heavenly food and happy thoughts. We even forgot it was raining outside. We could have stayed here for hours. Highly recommend, a must when visiting New York.

The appetizer alright but the entrée was delicious! Highly recommend their fish. The sea bass was great and my guest got the salmon and it was also very good.Service was OK. Because we looked younger they didnt give us a menu and asked us to use our smart phones, I dont like dining with my phone. Other tables around us were given menus.

After finishing a window cleaning project on the upper west side of NYC this past Wednesday. Our window cleaning staff decided to stop at Trattoria iL Gusto Wine Bar for a late lunch. Absolutely AMAZING, are the first two words that come to mind to say the least. Starting with such a warm welcome from Gus the restaurant manager, to the delicious selection of food that was so hard to choose from being that everything was DELICIOUS! I have never reviewed a place before, but no place deserves more than this one! The service his phenomenal. They make you feel at home. The food is delicious. The meal is well paced: not too fast, not too slow. You feel relaxed while eating unlike other restaurants in the city that will rush you out. I will recommend this to everyone.
