    GREAT JAPANESE FOOD AND KARAOKE 🍱🎤 The best place for those who want to do Karaoke and eat dinner at the same time. Much less crowded than Lower East Side, East Village, or Ktown. There are great deals to rent a private room but I prefer just sitting at the bar. Feels good to have nice sushi 🍣 with a 🍺 and sing a song or two. Plus, you get to meet strangers who can sing very well. The bartender was attentive while also servicing the karaoke rooms. Love Japas! I’ve been coming here for a long time and glad to still have it here! Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    I came here for the first time about a month ago and I had a good experience. We were able to be placed in a room pretty quickly, and it was spacious. The workers checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. They brought drinks and food in a timely manner, and the food was tasty! My friends and I had a good time!

    The fun times had to end at 1:30am...host would not add an additional hour to the room, staff needed to go home 🥴🎤🍻. The room was very clean and the place supplied sanitary microphone covers 👍, $23 pitchers of Sapporo, $10 per person per hour for the room. Very large selection of songs and it was quick learning curve to navigate the device to enter, skip & delete entries.

    Fantastic experience. It is what you make it. We came in on a Friday to grab a drink after work at the bar with zero expectations and then were exposed to some incredible singers. This is why I love NYC. If you come early you can sing as many songs as your heart desires. Can’t speak to the private rooms. Restrooms were clean.

    Adriana is great (and will sing some Bruno Mars with her amazing voice if you stay late enough). The food is legitimately and surprisingly good (the batter on the wings is crunchy and the cheese Ramen is delicious while also reasonably priced). Download the Healsonic app, bring cash ($2 per song), and be patient with the staff. Youll have a great time!

    Very nice friendly staff. The chicken wings are great (Korean style) and was a good at atmososphere for a networking / gathering event. The private rooms were spacious and well equipped unlike some of the other spots I’ve been to in the past. 🚀

    The food is so good! Friendly staff. Drinks...it depends on your bartender. Great atmosphere. The only thing I dont like is having to pay to sing. You purchase a card ($2), write down your song, hand in the card and wait for your selection to come up. Other than that I had no complaints and I cant wait to go back. Again... the food!!! Come on out.

    Amazing karaoke experience. Bartenders (Leo in particular) do well to provide wonderful, satisfying, and professional service. You pay $2 (cash) per song at the bar/public area, but its free every Sunday. Great song selections, and was even surprised they had choices that some other spots didnt have. What more is there to say? :)

    I have been to this place twice (well three times but one time was just a walk in on a Saturday which was a bit crazy, the other two times were reservations for rooms) and both times have been exceptional! My usual place was booked and we called this place. At first they said they were also booked but after speaking to a manager we got a great room for 12 people, crazy amounts of food, bottles of our drinks of choice, almost every song we wanted to sing and their music selection system was so smooth and you could also use your phone to send songs to the system. The second visit was even better than the first with happy hour room pricing. I think I found my new place!

    Sad, only few remaining karaoke bars in nyc. But Japas 38 was able to figure out to remain clean n safe while using the mic while singing. Used to be a regular but still go there on occasions. Im a Nj resident n would go there just to wind down. Great bar service, decent price, good food.Note: not too many karaoke bars with decent after work people just chilling out.

    This karaoke place is by far the best one Ive been to. The Bartender Leo is GOD sent. The Owner is sweet and the Chefs cook like they have been doing so since birth. The sound system is impeccable and the cleanliness is amazing.

    A good place to go if you want to drink and sing karaoke on the cheap. $35 for two hours of unlimited karaoke and unlimited drinks is a good deal. Also comes with food, which was mediocre, but needed to soak up the alcohol. Spent 4 hours here over the weekend and walked (stumbled) out feeling like I had definitely consumed my moneys worth of drinks. The song selection was decent, but we found it was lacking a few of the songs we really wanted to sing. We asked for a round of sake to do some sake bombs and they brought us a pitcher of it, plus endless beer, and water. The only big downside was that it was very warm in the room, Im guessing this had to do with the overhead spotlights that we couldnt turn off.

    Food ehh. But the karaoke bar was fun. One thing there is no music playing unless someone buys a drink first then you have to buy the songs you want to play. The Microphones where a little messed up and the volumes were off. Again it wasnt bad but I probably will go to another Karaoke bar

    First time going and absolutely loved it! The food was ready within 10 minutes of sitting down and the drinks about 5 minutes after. The only downside is that the food comes once. However, the drinks are unlimited. Very professional staff and when the bell was rang they came within 60 seconds. The room was big enough to fit probably 20 people but our group only had 9 so there was more than enough space for everyone. For the songs, downloading the app makes everything so much easier! Our group had a great time and we will definitely be returning soon!

    Place is keeping it real. Good scene. Good Karaoke. Good chamaraderie and humans being, to borrow a phrase from a late-90s Bleeker St. moment ... back before the World Trade Center was demolished by very bad people who furthered nothing and represented nothing good or sacred.

    If you come on a weeknight, you can mostly have the run of the place. The food is solid and the staff was attentive and helpful. This is a good place to meet up with friends after work in order to have a drink and sing away some stress in a very low stakes environment. Ill be coming back in the future.

    Japas is lit! Food is amazing! Well we had the wings it is amazing one of the best crunchy wings I’ve ever had!Idk about the cocktails because I had a whiskey on the rock.Love this place most of the crews are nice and friendly!Only thing is they don’t have a greeter or a host by any means people have no clue what to do once they get in the place even me as a first timer going in I have no idea what was going on or how’s the system works unless you ask.Couple of guests including me thought if this is a private party or was there a line to get seated etc....

    Great place to go to beat karaoke crowds especially on the weekends. Food is decent but the alcohol (on the package deal rooms) is watered down. Song selection is awesome—and they have Japanese, some Korean, Chinese too.Price is also decent! So good times and prices for all.

    I used to hate this place because they charge you to sing two different ways at once, which is substandard for a karaoke venue. They have a drink minimum to sing as well as charging $2 per song, so a couple of hours singing can add up to the cost of another drink or more. Its not the cost that aggravates me but how theyre going at you multiple ways, whereas places usually either make you buy drinks to sing or make you buy songs. They get 3 stars because its a good karaoke atmosphere with a nice crowd, and paper books are available, and they get a fourth star because of the way I saw a bartender moving a drunk guy out of her way, with courtesy and respect.

    By far the best place for private karaoke rooms Ive been to. For about $50 per person, you get two hours of karaoke, unlimited drinks, and even food! They also allow you to extend your time for only $20 per person. When you consider the cost of buying drinks at other karaoke bars, the price is a steal. Great, attentive staff. The song list is also updated regularly, which is great!

    The food, the service, the karaoke room I was in with my friends, and the drinks were pretty good. I was fortunate to have found this place last min since most of the over priced over booked karaoke spots near Herald square were a bit much and I didnt want to wait til 11pm to get a room for one hour then leave. So the place was worth the price and time well spent too.

    Karaoke love. I have been to this spot a few times and have always ended up having a great time. I grab a drink and a microphone and let the good times roll. My party has ordered their appetizers, which are quite delicious as Ive sampled some pieces but Ive just truly enjoyed the ambiance.     This place was so much fun! It is a Karaoke bar with private rooms to have fun and sing off tune with your friends. You have to pay a reservation fee for each person (which I think is about $30). With that, you get a room based on the size of your party and you get some appetizers.The rooms have different themes such as R&B, Heavy Metal, EDM, Reggae, Latino, Hollywood and so on. We were in the Motown room I believe that had records all over the walls. We did not, but you can purchase wigs, tattoo sleeves and other props to make your night even more crazy. They hold as small as 8 people and up to 35 guests depending on the room.I think you get 3 hours with the price and you can order drinks. The rooms are not soundproof - you will hear your neighbors and they will hear you. You will be having so much fun that you will not care!There is the option of just performing in the front of the restaurant. I cannot verify if you do not have to pay the $30 charge there as well, but I would think not as long as you purchase something to eat and drinks.Again, it was a blast and I think you will enjoy this place.

    There used to be at least three japas in nyc, unfortunately the other locations shut down, which is truly a loss for NYers and tourists passing throug. Their drink packages for the private rooms make this place more than worth it when you are going out. Check it out!!!

    Went with my friends twice. The first time it was 3 of us and we had to sit at the bar. The second time it was 4 of us and we were offered a private room $10 each per hour. We had the private room and it was so fun, we had a tablet where we chose our own songs and we were able to order and eat food also. The chicken katsu curry was so good.

    Im not a karaoke kind of guy and I actually never sing but the staff in this place makes you feel so damn comfortable, they make you sing. Every single person, literally, make themselves available and befriend you so easily that you wouldnt notice you spent several hours here. The place draws in an eclectic crowd and overall they are a great fun bunch. Definitely will be coming back with even more friends.

    Great place, great drinks, awesome food. Just book for longer than 2 hours, because times go by extremely quickly. The only complaint I would have is during the summer it gets really humid even with the AC on. I wish they had a dehumidifier also.

    So I might be a little bias because I love karaoke but the staff is super friendly here. Their song listing are pretty current and they use healsonic which has an app if you dont want to use the book to look up songs. They have a pretty well stocked bar but I was there on a work night so I was sticking to beer. The food menu is like an Asian / barfood menu.They do require you to buy at least one drink to sing and songs are $2 per request and they only except cash for song requests. I havent done the private rooms yet but they do seem to have a couple. They have a sign that says $15 minimum for credit cards I dont know how strictly they follow this because I spent more than that every time I went.Also shout out to Leo he was a great bartender and made me feel very welcome.

    This is a great place to go for Karaoke with a group. They have a karaoke bar out front (the kind where you sing at the bar in front of strangers) as well as plenty of rooms where you and your friends can go embarrass yourselves in front of only each other.     If youre in the mood for Karaoke in the public bar area and have lots of friends and you happen to be uptown, give this place a try. Though they have private Karaoke rooms, for a person like myself who prefers singing in the public bar area, it is more than adequate with an excellent sound system similar to BINY, very comfortable table seating and no minimums drinks to sing, just $2 per song in which they give you a card for song number (yes the prehistoric but tried and true book numbering system) and name of song and the wonderful bar tender/waitress (shorter Japanese lady) will happily input your song.In terms of drinks, if the waitress and you have a good repertoire, she will be generous on the alcohol portion, but if not, then you may feel that its watered down so beer is a safe choice. But if its not happy hour you are paying a high premium for drinks.Please read other yelp reviews about the room and food specials which seem awesome!

    Great karaoke place, and they provided good food. The only complaint i have is that they told us they would only be providing snacks, so we all ate before we came, so we couldnt really take advantage of that food. Its also kind of awkward to have a big meal while singing karaoke.

    Great place to Karaoke. Great sound system, good selection of songs, bar staff are wonderful. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday you can sing for free drinks!

    I like it.. i go there quite often for business meetings. I always order the Ramen noodles,, so good and well cooked broth. I also order the korean style spicy fried chicken.. very oily but go for it ...because the bite will start extra crunchy, followed by soft cooked red meat, and amazing flavor flows through the whole bite and mixed amazing flavor while chewing.. which will leave you satisfied for some time then you will run for a second bite... wow, i remember it vividly now. I think i will go today again. I am sure there will be other menu items worth trying but i just enjoy my regular order so.much and not ready to try something else..maybe one day.Besides the food. The seating in the main area are all high chairs, wood no back so not very comfortable but you forget about that in seconds after the conversations start and mostly when biting starts. Cleanliness is good.Prices are ok for NYC place but substituting for example pork with chicken in the ramen is waaay over priced for no reason. Other than that you should give it a try.
