My experience here was one of the highlights of my NYC visit! I enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner with my mom and sister, and it was truly unforgettable. We had a five-course fixed menu, and every dish was thoughtfully crafted and absolutely delicious. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time – they were attentive, kind, and always cheerful. The drinks were exceptional, and the live band added a perfect touch, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!

Everything was great but the music really made this an exceptional experience. We were just in town for a short visit but I would go back again and again if I lived closer! We had the shrimp and pasta, a few cocktails, the rolls, the octopus and broccoli and a few other dishes I cant remember but we all enjoyed our food. The sphere dessert was delicious and fun as well.

We had such a great time! Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful, and on top of everything. The food and drinks were really fantastic. The mushrooms in particular were phenomenal! The music—Peter & The Master Keys—were great as well. So talented. Overall a great atmosphere and perfect place for a night out.

I eat out a lot, and I truly think this is hands down the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life! From the moment you walk in, the restaurant has a breath taking ambiance and has an amazing vibe to it. Beautiful place to just sit back and relax and take pictures. Our server who went by Mo, was beyond excellent, he was very funny, attentive and well informed on the menu and stayed very professional. His service truly made our night so much better and it was very appreciated. Thank you Mo!!The food was beyond amazing!!! I got the sautéed mushrooms and the Angus strip. The steak was so tender it basically melted in my mouth, and it was just the right amount for one person. Truly beyond amazing and tasty food. The hosts were also kind enough to take our bags from us and charge our phones.Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing ambiance. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Outstanding! Is the only word I have to describe this place. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with a smile as you pass all other workers they’re all smiling which says a lot about the place. The atmosphere takes you to a movie scene as you hear the singer perform. Between the triumph and the smoked old fashioned ufffft which to get they’re just unique in their own way. Get em both! The food was superb and incredibly delicious; we got the octopus and crab cakes as well as a charcuterie board which did not disappoint at all. To compliment the whole evening there was 2 performances through the night a singer and some jazz music and both groups made the whole night unforgettable. You need to come and check out The FlatIron Room!

Fantastic atmosphere in this restaurant! They have a huge array of drinks available if you just want a drink, or a fabulous, small menu (fresh food) to choose from. The staff are wonderful and very attentive! There were a few jazz artists playing which gave the place a great ambience when we were there. The saxophonist also played Happy Birthday to me, how wonderful is that! I hope the pictures speak for themselves but the food was delicious as well! Highly recommended!

  • Review 7 (2024-03-27 - Rating: 5)

I ordered their 1/2 dozen oysters, house cut truffle fries, bourbon bbq meatballs (beef blend of brisket, short rib, and strip steak with smoky bbq bourbon sauce), burgundy braised beef short rib (parsnip purée, brussels sprout, rainbow carrot, burgundy wine demi-glace), jumbo lump crab cake (beet & walnut purée, swiss chard, grilled lemon), bourbon barrel aged coffee gelato, and sticky toffee pudding. i can’t overstate how good every single dish was (even their sides were carefully crafted and masterfully seasoned and cooked to perfection). their fries were to die for and i highly recommend getting them as a side if you’re a fry lover (came out very hot, crispy, and richly flavorful— perfect amount of truffle flavor). their beef short rib was perhaps the most tender beef short rib i’ve had (the sauce paired perfectly with the rich, robust beef flavor). even their desserts were absolutely delectable. i highly recommend getting a reservation here and checking them out— you won’t be disappointed! (i also got their bourbon barrel aged coffee and it is so good) (also the lighting was dark so these photos do not do their dishes justice)

Truly lovely setting, piano and singer & terrific food. Terrific drink with unusual flavors! Really enjoyed and will be back on our next visit! My husband had the chickpea dish and I had the spare rib dish. Both were great... See photo below.

This place is fantastic. I dont know how it flew under my radar for so long. Im upset with my friends who had been to Flatiron Room (Murray Hill) and didnt tell me about it because the setup is right up my alley. Thankfully, I had a friend from Canada visiting and my scopes picked it up during a search for a good spot near her hotel in Times Square. The restaurant space itself is very warm and inviting. After looking at the available pictures online, I was a little bit concerned with the view and loudness from each table. After seeing the space in person, dont be afraid to sit up front or on the second level of tables in front of the stage. The tables to the far side of the stage dont have a good view of the performers. So beware. Incidentally, I asked for particular table arrangements in my reservation notes and I was glad to see that the staff/management obliged. Thats always a HUGE plus in my book because restaurants often ignore this.Meanwhile, the live music is such a classy touch to the place. Were talking live singers and instruments, jazz ensembles etc. The stage lighting isnt overpowering. We stayed until maybe 10pm on a weeknight and they still had music going which I thought was great. Often the live music is brief or a few hours at most.Anyways, youre probably wondering about the food. We were trying to taste as much as we could but the menu options are so massive. So we split the charcuterie board, the steak (NY Strip), truffle fries, broccoli rabe and the rest I cant recall. They knew were were sharing so they had the steak precut for us and brought extra plates out, which again I really appreciated. The drinks were great too! I was a little bit surprised by the consistency of the Take Me Back To Tulum cocktail (frozen creamy consistency), but it was really good. I had to have two. I think one of has had the Blackberry Gimlet another tasty option. There was a third drink we tried, but I cant recall the name. Suffice it to say that the cocktails are all VERY well crafted. All in all, we had a great time, top to bottom. I will most definitely be stopping in to visit again. Id like to give a shoutout to Vasyl (?), the manager who checked in on us during the meal. My friend is Eastern European and they had some things in common. We had nice conversation with him towards the end of our visit. His kind manner stuck out to me. You should try the place any time youre in the vicinity.P.S. I can see this being a nice date spot. Keep it in your pocket for a hot date maybe. ;-)

Flat Iron Room is a gem in the city!! We had a wonderful experience on NYE! Both the food and the service were excellent, and the music was the perfect added part of the evening!! Highly recommend and will be back soon!

  • Review 11 (2023-08-29 - Rating: 5)

We absolutely loved The Flatiron Room! We arrived very early for our reservation and they were so kind to let us in and have drinks at the bar. Since we were so early, they seated us inside by the stage. The atmosphere is lovely, nice ambiance, its like stepping back in time, in the best way. Our food was SO delicious. I commented with each bite, so did my husband. We had the house ravioli and the beef Short Rib. Both were incredible. The drinks from the bar were well curated, and delightful.

  • Review 12 (2023-02-20 - Rating: 4)

Very nice restaurant. Great ambiance and atmosphere. Great live music. Very romantic.Had a late reservation, so I came here for a very light dinner & a drink.Espresso martini was delicious. Came with chocolate that was very yummy. The food was delicious. Loved the burrata. The ravioli was nice, but not my favorite.Service wasnt the best. Asked if we could sit with a better view of the musicians, but they said it was for investors. While there was no one else who showed up after us... our waiter was very stingy and short with answering questions. He had no patience. I didnt appreciate that at all.Overall, I do recommend it. Staff should be more accommodating to their clients, though.

  • Review 13 (2024-03-30 - Rating: 5)

Top notch food with great service. Live music was a perfect match with the amazing ambiance. Highly recommend - I will be back for sure.

  • Review 14 (2023-06-07 - Rating: 5)

Excellent professional servers that work as a well coordinated team to bring and remove items. Wonderfully prepared and presented food. Creative, appealing cocktails. Wish I lived in NY so we could go more often.

  • Review 15 (2024-02-15 - Rating: 5)

The ambience is perfect! Waiters are friendly and try to ensure that everything is going smoothly. It felt very intimate. I got their ravioli and Take me to Tulum cocktail and all was delicious. Will return.

  • Review 16 (2024-03-13 - Rating: 5)

Hidden gem with a staggering spirits library (though be prepared to pay for it!)Steak was really good there, would be nice if there was cheaper wine to go with it - enjoying that with a short and quality live jazz in the background was an excellent way to spend an evening.

  • Review 17 (2022-07-30 - Rating: 5)

This is such a nice jazz bar in midtown, like the name it says it’s fine and rare to find in the city. It’s very New York style with jazz live music everyday and you don’t have to buy ticket to get in. We came in for a drink only so we sat on the bar you do not need a reservation for that, but if you prefer to dine in reservation is highly recommended. There are massive selection of whisky and some craft cocktails not just whisky cocktails. I ordered couple of the cocktails from the menu they are all really good. But if you have any particular whisky you want, you probably can find it here. The bar seats are first come first serve, but they also have some stools around the whole area you can sit as well. The drinks are little pricy but the place is very classic and good vibe. The jazz performance is excellent. Not too loud so you can still hear each other talk.

  • Review 18 (2022-08-05 - Rating: 5)

Fun This is a great place if you love live Blues and love to drink hard booze. The band on Friday nights is awesome. Tables are close to the stage but it is not too loud. They offer 700 booze lockers so you can buy a bottle and store it there if you do not finish it. Each locker can hold up to 10 bottles or more. The food is great in some parts of the menu but could be a bit better in other parts. The cheese board, meat board or combo board were fantastic. Drinkers will love this too. We had the combo board (photo attached) and it was spectacular. The crab cake app was also great. It is fried but very good and comes with some nice sides on the plate as well. Very good. We split the tomahawk steak. Ive had better but this was fine. I would probably opt for something else next time. It did include 2 sides for free. She got the mashed potatoes which she loved. I got the fries and they were limp. I prefer the thinner firmer fries so not my cup of tea. The deserts were marvelous. All in all a great evening and so much fun to go to a place with live music. If you have 4 or more be sure to reserve one of the HUGE booths up high in the back. They have a great view of the stage and make a great place for a group to all eat together and all have a perfect view of the stage because it is a semi circle booth. 5 star experience for sure. A restaurant and music lounge that is both upscale and friendly on the wallet. After an eventful week, myself and a college came here to unwind after all the stress and emotion that hit that week, and we were not disappointed. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and treated like an old friend. Brought directly to your table and immediately poured waters by the backwaiter. The staff gives you enough time to sit down, relax and take in the live music performance before coming over, Something that I really find to be a nice touch instead if bombarding you the moment you take your seat. The ambiance is very modern but yet feels very out of time. You can almost picture this place being around in the 1930s and not feeling out of place. Tables are very well maintained, and some even have very interesting sayings on them, ours, with a quote about sharing a drink as opposed to drinking alone. My friend kept it simple with a bacardi and coke for her beverage while I went for a simple sidecar. Both drinks were poured to perfection. The coke wasnt flat or offbrand like many other places, and the sidecar has just the perfect amount of sugar on the rim.Our server Romina (I hope I got that right) was beyond exceptional and really was not hovering or overbearing. Much credit to her for also letting me order the 28 chocolate layer cake on the sly!For food, we had done a bit of a family style ordering and kept it simple with a shrimp cocktail that consisted of the freshest shrimp I have ever had in NYC, from a place that does not specialize in seafood. We also ordered the skirt steak, which was bursting full of flavor and is cooked to perfection (seriously seeing a perfect medium rare is a thing of beauty). For dessert, as I said, we had ordered the 28 Layer Chocolate Cake, and it was magnificent. I mean, with 28 layers of chocolate, how could it not be?Overall, The Flatiron Room, is an institution on class, fine dining, entertainment, and ambiance. Will definitely be coming back.

I wanted to book a place that was close to our hotel for our last night in nyc. I’m so glad we chose this place! The food was not only amazing, the live music made for an awesome atmosphere. It’s a nice, cozy, and warm vibe with an endless drink menu. Our drinks were made very well. Only complaint is the service was slightly slow but when we visit nyc again we will for sure be making a reservation to eat here again!

  • Review 21 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 5)

Listen here...the ambience of this spot is incredible! My wife and I were looking for a place to have drinks late and boy oh boy did we strike gold! We sat at the bar and RJ the bartender was absolutely marvelous! He had great recommendations for every palette and lets not start on the encyclopedia of spirits that they have. DJ Rumor was in the 1s and 2s and he did not disappoint. The Flatiron Room is great for date night or large groups. JUST GO!!!!

The service from the welcome, the servers, and the wait staff was sensitive, informative, and very accommodating. The menu was perfect, the meal well prepared and plated and the live music and atmosphere for our anniversary dinner was perfect. The Sphere was AMAZING, and I’m not even a chocolate lover.AND they served my favorite Sandeman Port.

  • Review 23 (2020-11-01 - Rating: 5)

Always a wonderful experience. The food music and cocktails never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. A drink I always get is not on the limited menu so Jose the bartender made it specially for me and went out if his way to find the glass dome to trap the smoke which is what they were missing to make it. I was very happy and as always the cocktail was amazing!

Great Sunday brunch, food, drink and live jazz band was amazing. Service was very attentive and on point. The eggs in purgatory as well as the lost bread were both very tasty and satisfying. Lavazza coffee is served here, which was a plus.

Superior whiskey bar with fine dining and excellent service. Fantastic place for a special occasion or to show off your whiskey knowledge to business associates. Had the luxury tasting and it was fantastic! The trout was delicious in an incredible butter sauce, and the crab sandwich was fabulous with truffle fries. Had the Fine and Rare sphere for dessert and it was fantastic!

  • Review 28 (2019-10-11 - Rating: 5)

The best seating , I think, by the fireplace) that would complete an amazing atmosphere of live jazz , great drinks and service this place provides!Check their drink menu! Whiskey lovers , that would be a paradise for you! Few lists dedicated to whiskey only ))Plus, we’ve been told , that you can buy a bottle , and it’ll be reserve for you. So, you can come back and enjoy this bottle later. That’s amazing !I saw at least three ladders that waiters use to climb at the top of the bars) so , I guess, there d be always a secure place for your bottle )The drinks are delicious, and waiters provide you with accurate information about them.Jazz program is always different. Check their web site for the schedule.Food is good, as well. We had sea bass and truffle risotto ( although , you can have it without truffles , or clams could be added. Up to you).Octopus appetizer served in a really nice way.Definitely try their peach gelato, or chocolate ice cream for desert ! Amazing !And ! Be careful with your reservation. I’ve been told not just once , that they wait just 15 min , and then can give your table somebody else.Enjoy!

Lovely atmosphere, great service! Went for brunch on a rainy Sunday and had the best seat by the fireplace and stage. Great for a date or big groups too. The layout of the place is pretty cool with big banquette tables up higher against the back wall.

  • Review 30 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 5)

Loved this restaurant! The music, service, food, and drinks were amazing. Great experience celebrating my birthday.

  • Review 31 (2024-06-09 - Rating: 5)

Had a great dinner with family. The tomahawk steak and strip steak were cooked perfectly and were seasoned well. Everything was great, but we made a rookie mistake, we spent $60 for water because when asked about water service they asked sparkling or still, we should have said tap. The music was good, but a little loud for having conversations. Overall we enjoyed our night, great service.

  • Review 32 (2024-08-12 - Rating: 5)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Flatiron Room in Murray Hill, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, I was captivated by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the attention to detail in every aspect of the decor. The service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and the extensive selection of spirits. The live jazz music added a wonderful touch, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance that made the evening truly special. The food was exquisite, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, making every bite a joy.Overall, The Flatiron Room offers a unique and memorable dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an elegant night out in Murray Hill. We will definitely be returning soon!

  • Review 33 (2024-11-19 - Rating: 5)

The Flatiron Room is an absolute gem! From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of amazing. The food, service, and ambiance all exceeded expectations. The live jazz performance that night added a magical touch, with talented musicians creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The food was outstanding! We started with the Oysters East/West Coast, served with a perfect mignonette and lemon — fresh, briny, and a great way to kick off the meal. The Bourbon BBQ Meatballs were tender and packed with flavor, with the smoky bourbon sauce taking them to the next level. For mains, the Spinach Tonnarelli was divine, with colossal shrimp in a light garlic, white wine, and lemon sauce that brought out the freshness of the ingredients. The Burgundy Braised Beef Short Rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, paired beautifully with the carrot purée, broccolini, and a rich burgundy wine demi-glace.The service was impeccable — attentive and knowledgeable, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The ambiance, with its warm lighting and the sounds of live jazz, made it the perfect place for a special night out.I will absolutely be back and wholeheartedly recommend The Flatiron Room to anyone looking for excellent food, stellar service, and an unforgettable dining experience.

  • Review 34 (2021-05-23 - Rating: 4)

A nice place for dinner, cocktail, while enjoy live jazz.Recommend for dates and small groups. You can get better food at other restaurants, bigger name jazz musicians at jazz clubs, and more spot on cocktails from speakeasies. But Fine & Rare managed to get all these and did a decent job. My personal experience: cocktail was spot on, presentation could be better; steak was slightly over cooked, not bad enough that request to be send back. But bothered me enough to complain. The table setup is for diners, so some of the diners will have the seats that’s back to the stage instead of facing.

  • Review 35 (2024-02-16 - Rating: 5)

BBQ Grilled Chicken was delicious and unique, the Crabcakes entree was yummy but could be a little larger in portion size. The Triumph was a lovely balanced whiskey cocktail.

  • Review 36 (2022-10-09 - Rating: 5)

The ambiance is very enjoyable. The live music was great. We ordered the porterhouse and the tomahawk which were delicious. I also recommend the mashed potatoes and the bacon. I drank a moscow mule which went down smooth. I took a sip of the smokey old fashioned, it was alright. The service was excellent.

  • Review 37 (2019-02-20 - Rating: 5)

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I came in on a whim for restaurant week. There wasnt a table available but there was a bar/counter option.I took the counter. Its not the most comfortable seating, but very charming nonetheless. The decor was great and so was the ambiance. The service is very good. The food was very well prepared and to top it off there were live jazz performances.

Beautiful place with amazing entertainment. The night we went in, the small band was just incredible. The fairly small space looks like an amazing speakeasy. Unfortunately, the food was just okay - nothing wrong with it, just okay. I would go back for the entertainment and great drink list.

I truly enjoyed my stay here , Starting with a nice positive welcome from the host. He sat me in front of the Band, which was great but I had decided to ask him to move me some where else because I didn’t like that space. ( to squashed together), he sat me in a very comfortable space in-front of the fire place after and there I was able to enjoy the show and still be able and have a conversation. My server Greg was amazing, he knew his menu and what to recommend since my husband has a nut allergy. The workers were Super accommodating and Kind, I recommend dining at this venue…. Reservation definitely advised.

  • Review 44 (2022-11-22 - Rating: 5)

Overall a lovely experience. The crab cakes and kale salad were the highlight. We had a little problem with our steak but our waiter was very understanding and quickly found a solution. The jazz singer was talented and had a lovely soothing voice that allowed us to still enjoy a conversation.

Phenomenal experience in every aspect. From entrance to exit the staff is extremely hospitable, with a comfortable jazzy atmosphere to match. The cocktail menu is top notch and every dish we ordered was absolutely unbelievable, leaving an impression that will not be forgotten. Live music really complimented the dinner adding to the already cozy atmosphere. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough and cannot wait to go back. If you like whiskey, this is the spot. Boasting a world class selection, this is certainly an experience you wont forget.

  • Review 50 (2024-06-23 - Rating: 4)

I think the other location (Nomad) is dimmer and has more of the jazz vibe. This location is bigger but is bright enough to keep me awake and not really wanting to drink. Overall more modern than Nomad location, including the music. Murray hill location is good for dining and gathering, Nomad location is good for lounging and zoning out.

  • Review 51 (2017-12-20 - Rating: 5)

This place fills a niche for people looking to have a refined evening dinner and drinks in an elegant place. It has a very large selection of whiskey from different countries and you can buy it by the bottle, carafe, or glass depending on the whiskey. They had a live band playing tasteful music. The food was good, and albeit appropriately based on the venue was priced on the expensive side. There was a surprising lack of desire to seat a group of people who came in afterwards. There were plenty of open seats at the bar and in the restaurant and they were dressed in suits but the staff tried to make them just have drinks in the lobby area up front for some odd reason.

We came for the music and a couple of cocktails and were not disappointed. There is a great vibe. Its well appointed but not pretentious. The staff is warm and welcoming. The decor embodies their love of spirits with amber bottles filling the walls. I must give a shout out to our server, Jazz who is a recent transplant from my native California and made our evening just that much better. Absolutely recommend for a lovely, relaxing jazz evening.

Some nights, Ill enjoy a seafood tower and some focaccia with a whiskey tasting, other nights, Ill end my night with some caviar, champagne and jazz. The seating both at the tables and bars are super comfortable, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the vibes are relaxed elegance. Beware their cocktails are heavy pours!

Had the porterhouse for two, although three of us comfortably shared it. It was made perfectly. We also had the creamed spinach, which was also great.A live band with a singer was playing in the background, which really added to the atmosphere.

  • Review 66 (2019-07-28 - Rating: 5)

Fine & Rare delivers its promise. The lighting is perfect, and it has a library of whiskeys - and when I say library, I mean over 600. The jazz was a perfect volume and the talent had us feeling like we were right back in the 1940s, even on a Monday. Their Old Fashion even tickled Don Drapers palette with its reveal of smoked rosemary erupting over the rim of a particular stemmed glass. I would highly recommend this cozy, romantic, upscale restaurant with hard-to-find spirits for any occasion. And if you are a bourbon connoisseur, this might be heaven.

  • Review 67 (2024-10-13 - Rating: 5)

It’s a beautiful place. The food and service were excellent. We were a large party and everyone enjoyed themselves. The music was fantastic and made the night magical.

A gem of a restaurant/music club tucked away on 37th street. Terrific music, tasty food and friendly yet professional service. Unique, creative cocktails and desserts are outstanding. Worth a trip to old time NY with a modern twist.

  • Review 69 (2024-10-21 - Rating: 5)

Great food, service, and atmosphere. Live jazz in the front room was an added bonus! Convenient location to both Penn Station and Grand Central. Food was exceptional and the prices reasonable considering the portion size and quality. Our table started with Octopus and Crab Cake, then the Flatiron burger, Halibut (2 orders), and the eggplant Tagliatelle. Too stuffed for dessert. Cocktails were also creative and excellent. Except for the noise level in our room (not the restaurants fault) we had a great time. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family.

  • Review 70 (2023-12-03 - Rating: 5)

4 of us for had dinner last night and loved it .It was packed and we had to wait a few minutes for our table but I guess thats NYC during the holiday season. The crowd was surprisingly stylish for that part of town. I was definitely getting downtown vibes from the place. Food and drinks were excellent...both in presentation and in taste. We will be back..however probably on an off night so its not as busy.

  • Review 71 (2023-11-05 - Rating: 5)

The Flatiron Room is hands down 5 Stars across the board. The vibe is jazzy NYC cabaret, with decor and attention to detail to match. This was my second time and it did not disappoint. For a special evening out with family & friends, first date, date night or special occasion…THIS is the spot. The service is spot on, warm hospitality from the host team and servers that will not steer you wrong. Food was absolutely delicious and the craft cocktails……let’s just say I wish I could’ve tried them all. If you like whiskey, you will not find such an extensive, in depth array and vast selection. Check out the headliner entertainment when you go. And if you want outdoor seating, the private rooms are finely appointed. A star in Murray Hill!

Came in on a Friday to celebrate a belated birthday. There was plenty of street parking in the evening, my table was readily available and the hostesses was warm & friendly. I ordered a beet salad and scallop entree with a glass of rose. For dessert I had the Flat Iron Room Sphere which was amazing and delicious. Dessert was my favorite along with live music. . Highly recommend coming here for a date or night out.

  • Review 78 (2023-03-05 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic ambiance. Super fun place. Live music but it’s not too loud. We were right next to the stage and could have a conversation.Appetizers and entrees were solid. We tried scallops, octopus, chicken, and short ribs and they were all on point. Great drinks too.Their desserts are a little over the top for my taste. Still good if you have a solid sweet tooth. Also, they are huge, one dessert is plenty for four people. If you’re looking to hang out and have a fun dinner with friends, this place is a winner.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at flatiron room and I must say that it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment we stepped inside,we was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. Host even wished a happy birthday to our party. The restaurants decor was modern and elegant, with a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort. The soft lighting and tasteful artwork created a relaxed atmosphere, making it the ideal setting for a memorable dining experience.Food was amazing, truffle fries were great. Music was a great addition to our experience. Overall this place is a gem and will definitely return.

Holy cow! You cant beat the vibe of this place: racks of whiskey, a great bar, an intimate stage. The staff are attentive and pleasant.

  • Review 81 (2023-07-29 - Rating: 5)

Upscale restaurant with a great live stage in the middle for jazz performers. This place is one you’ll remember by the professional yet comfortable atmosphere.Went here during the 2023 NYC restaurant week and did their select 3 courses and drink pairing. Overall was a great experience and would suggest this as a good place for celebrating something fancy. The food was unique, nothing earth shattering delicious but consistent and good. The drinks definitely come with presentation and are quite delicious as well. They offer a massive amount of liquors, mainly whiskey, but a lot of unique items you may have difficulty finding other places or even by yourself.Come here for an experience and enjoy the live music. Keep an eye on how much you order though as the prices do get pretty heavy.

  • Review 82 (2023-06-05 - Rating: 5)

The try epitome of a NYC classy lounge. The owner, Tommys vision, is shown here. As I am very critical when it comes to my review of whiskey bars this one takes the cake:1- The whiskey selection is the largest on the eastern seaboard of the USA.2- The food absolutely fits the amazing atmosphere. Has a taste for all palettes.3- The staff has a keen sense of customer engagement and you feel like a star while visiting.Cheers Flatiron Room. I commend you!

Elegantly sexy is how I describe this place. There was live music (jazz singer and pianist). Food is exquisitely tasteful, and theres a book of 1,000 drinks to choose from (no exaggeration). The location is perfectly nestled close to NYC transit and PATH train (a 13-minute walk away).

Service was fantastic, excellent from start to finish. Cheese board was boring , carrots were at best ok...The rest of the dinner was delicious, the Brussel Sprouts, Mashed Potatoes, Summer Salad, and Sliced Meat didnt disappoint. If you like Gin, have the gin tasting its wonderful!!Music was wonderful! We left before dessert for only 1 reason the place was freezing and we needed to warm up!! We would definitely go back though with sweaters!

I had an amazing night out at Flatiron Room with my girlfriends. The ambiance was fantastic - cozy and intimate feel, complemented by the energy of live jazz music . The food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed. A special highlight of the evening was when the owner, stopped by our table. He recommended the best dish for dinner and when it was time for desert, he even paired a great Armagnac with their mouthwatering 28-layer chocolate cake - wow! It was a perfect ending to an already amazing meal. This place is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy great food, drinks, live jazz music and an exceptional atmosphere. Well definitely be back!

What a wonderful find in the heart of midtown. Only a few blocks from Times Square, a throwback to places gone by. The food was fantastic. The live jazz music performed by professional musicians gave an ambiance that made for super evening. The establishment itself has an aura and charm that only NYC can muster. Even in the waning time of the global pandemic we were treated to an amazing evening. One hint, if you are going for the food, you can sit outside in their classy outdoor seating area. But if you really want to enjoy the music and the entire “Fine and Rare” experience, ask to sit inside. Trust me, you will love it.

When I dine out there are 3 things I am looking for, Ambiance, quality food, and libations. I was in the city for Thanksgiving and had made reservations prior to, so my expectations were building for quite some time. 5 5 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 5 for ambiance. The lighting, the dinning set, and tables all were upscale and comfortable. The live music with vocal accompaniment was outstanding. It all came together to make for a festive and relaxing evening. 5 for the meal. This was the best meal I have ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection. 5 for the drinks. The selection of drinks, bourbon, and wine were tops and as the name says, rare. The name says it all. It is truly Fine & Rare. The best dinning experience I have had in my life.

Came here with three free last night and we all had a fabulous evening - starting with the incredible hostess Masha who made us feel so welcomed. Since this was our first time visiting she checked in throughout the evening to make sure we were taken care of. Plus provided some great suggestions from their extensive cocktail options. The food was also terrific. Cesar salad was great. The pastas were cooked perfectly and yummy tasting. The special short ribs were the best ever according to my friend who order them. The live jazz band was also phenomenal. This place is a definite triple threat - food, cocktail and entertainment. We will be back soon!

I made a reservation for three people weeks in advance for my friend’s birthday. It happened that last minute one of the friends canceled and also, bday girl and I were very late for our reservation. I felt embarrassed about it, but they were very patient and kind about the whole situation. They gave us a good table and made sure we enjoy our evening. Besides amazing service and lovely staff, place is so beautiful and well set up. Decor, music, vibe…. It’s all on point! 10 starts from me ❤️

  • Review 101 (2023-06-01 - Rating: 5)

Celebrating my husband’s new position with friends here. We made reservations the night before, and they do have you put down a credit card and charge $25 per person for cancel or no show. All our friends made it here on time. We were seated right in front of the stage, and the dinner was lovely. The staff were friendly and professional. The menu said their food was for sharing - not sure about that because we finished everything at no time and kept ordering more and more. Best of tonight - the octopus. We had tried this dish in French and Greek restaurants, and here we found the best. So tender, char, but not rubbery at all. I love the salad on the side. We ordered the most expensive steak on the menu for medium rare. The piece we got was a little too fatty for me, but my husband loved the charred fat. Truffle fries and asparagus are really good, but we expected a little bigger portion - more veggies please. Now, for dessert. I saw the videos online, and finally get to try the signature “Flatiron room sphere.” Warm and chill, sweet and sour, it’s life! Then, we couldn’t help but ordered the chocolate cake. It’s like the opera cake. The shine is beautiful. And the layers. OMG. Almost forgot to mention the drink - they are serious about drinks. Look at their drink menu. My husband ordered “smoking old fashion.” It was bourbon and smoked with cherry wood. The artists for tonight were great. They picked classic songs and gently interacted with audiences with music. The whole night, we did not feel rushed at all. From 7pm to 10pm, time just flew. We all had such a good time. Worth every penny we spent. Strongly recommend!!!

Perfect Old Fashioned “The Triumph” was strong and not too sweet. The beet salad was out of this world and. I don’t even like beets. The live 3 piece jazz band was outstanding at 9:30 on a Thursday night. This place is a real gem!

  • Review 103 (2023-07-15 - Rating: 4)

We went here last November for one of my friend’s birthday dinner. It was about 10 of us and we picked out a pre-fix menu so all the food was family style. The crab cakes were delicious, the burrata salad as well. The gnocchi with mushrooms were over cooked so they weren’t the clouds of fluffiness that I expected. The steak was delicious though and all the desserts were amazing. Especially the ones that looked like acorns. The ambiance was so nice we were seated right next to the stage so we had a great view of the jazz band. The interior design was contemporary and they had a vast collection of whiskey. I want to go back to have a drink at the bar and enjoy the live music.

  • Review 104 (2022-10-06 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful place! It’s like stepping back in time to the Art Deco era with a modern twist. Never had the food here, but the drink’s certainly are “fine and rare”. Be sure to get an old fashioned. The live music sounds great on their charming stage.

  • Review 105 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 5)

I treated myself to this restaurant for my birthday on 8/21. The hostess was very pleasant and asked if I preferred sitting at a table or did I want to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I chose to sit at the bar.I had a great experience. Jose was really good; I let him know I didn’t want any alcohol, and he gave me his recommendations which were spot on. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was fresh and had a pretty presentation. I loved that they offered three dipping sauces for the fries. I would definitely recommend coming here.

I had such a lovely time here. The service was quick and enjoyable. Our server was attentive but not overly so. Highly recommend coming when there is live music playing because the performance is so beautiful. Seriously, the voice of a very smooth angel combined with some very cool instrumentals makes for a very good time. The setting was soft and romantic and I hope Im able to come back sooner than later. The cocktials while small in size were very tasty and absolute beautiful to look at.

Great experience! Food was great service was fantastic, really good. The music us also a nice touch, a little too loud for my liking but I am sensitive so it will probably be fine for most people. Incredible whiskey selection alongside other alcohols. I do recommend this place if you are in the area and want to have a special meal with someone. Unfortunately they do not have hot chocolates, but thats a minor detail.

An ABSOLUTELY STUNNING restaurant. The staff are professional & kind, food/drink’s were top notch, and overall the ambiance was a perfect setting. We ordered cocktails, small plates, large plates, and of course the known dessert sphere.Another note to mention, I ordered the espresso martini (which is a fav cocktail of mine) & it wasn’t to my liking. However, our server noticed it wasn’t touched, and I already had intentions of paying but he decided to remove the item from our bill (SUPER SHOCKED). I appreciate that kind gesture.Lastly, how can I forget the live music, they had talented musicians & you could tell are passionate about they’re craft…just like the restaurant is on the culinary side.Bottom line is I WILL RETURN!!!!!!!!Thanks so much for the experience.

The atmosphere is nice, mainly jazz music. The food is good. I’m from Miami so I’m a foodie. Honestly I haven’t been impressed so far with New York food. I find Miami food more tasty but I can’t base my review on that. I ordered brazino but got sea bass instead since the brazino wasn’t available. The fish wasn’t so tasty but the sides were. My husband ordered the NY strip and it was ok but the sides were actually better. What makes it lose its touch was the service. Other couples got their food before us even though they arrived later, and the waiter confused other people’s orders with our table. It happened three times. The couple next to us returned dirty utensils and there was a piece of metal in their wine. So overall that night was a bit messy service-wise.

Terrific cocktails and great whiskey selection are this places highlights, but the food is surprisingly good as well. My girlfriend and I shared the paella, which was surprisingly flavorful. The Smoking Mezcal Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced and dessert was awesome. I definitely recommend the Alaska (a Baked Alaska). Top it all off with some nice live jazz, this is a great place. Just note that it isnt cheap and best for special occasions.

I really liked the 1960s music that the singer was singing on stage. I also liked the way you get your orders and other stuff. The main problem was that I got sick from the food and the pasta they served me looked like trash. One of things they can do to improve the restaurant experience is having better food. They should also STOP serving bread with olive oil its disgusting an unpractical but, everything else was ok

The steak was cooked very well. The ambience is terrific. The staff was friendly and attentive. This place is a gem and I cant wait to go back. Minus one star because I find that their side dishes need work. More options, please. I didnt like my roasted potatoes. I thought they were very dry. That wont keep me from coming back, however.

Fantastic service. Romantic atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Now that we got that out of the way, we come to the food. Ive had a NY strip here which is a sizable portion meal. Beautifully cooked to perfection, however, this is not your typical steak house flavor. This place shows your their take on upscale food in their own way. Absolutely worth a visit.

Best meal we had in NYC. Fun cocktails, amazing burretta and pecan pie to die for (and Im from the south!). Music was so fun, perfect acoustics, just loud enough to enjoy yet still maintain conversation. Such a great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone drink, eat and stay awhile.

First time here and i absolutely loved this place. From the call i made to change a reservation that i had set in open table to the greeting and welcoming by the hostess with the mostess, Leticia. She was super attentive to ensure i had a great table up front near the stage. Everyone was super friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. We went with the waiters suggestion for appetizers, drinks and dinner and all were spot on. Ambience and music just tool this place over the top. Cant wait to go back. Thanks all for a great time and dinner.

If youre into rare spirits, wild mixology, cozy and historic ambiance, great music, and delicious food, this spot is a dream. This is the only place in Manhattan that I have found that has the quality and consistency of a high end establishment without being snobby, rude or acting super elite when it isnt needed. Youll feel like a VIP here not only because of how amazing every little corner of this place is but because of the personal experience you get from their amazing staff. There wasnt a moment where I thought things were slow or that I was missing anything, the staff was perfectly on beat with my guests and myself ordering different cocktails and plates. The cocktails are exactly what you want a 15-20$ cocktail to taste like, you know when you take that first sip that its a quality, well thought out drink. The servers know everything from the history of the spirits to the tiniest tasting pair notes of the food and drinks. The management team is amazing, I had dasha come to my table twice to see how we were doing and I could tell she remembered seeing me at the bar once before. We had the most amazing charcuterie board that looked like it was out of a michelin magazine, chicken and steak dishes, potato gratin and asparagus sides which were as phenomenal as the main entrees and the most instagram worthy dessert in the world, the Fine and Rare sphere.I tried a few of the cocktails and my guests cocktails and the Colorado, gimlet and death of a ladies man were my favorites, amazing. The music is a given, not only is it amazing that they have such great celebrity performers (I.e. Lady Gagas jazz band on Saturdays) and performers from your favorite high end spots in the city, but the band and artists engage with you as well, Brian stopped by our table after his set and spoke with us knowing how in love my friend was with his band.We stayed late after seeing a ballet performance and were probably one of the last groups out but we never felt rushed, only invited and comfortable.I highly suggest becoming a regular at this spot, before it blows up and becomes impossible to get into! Also I heard from a friend that the lunch is just as amazing, I saw a poster about them opening for lunch recently and I’ll definitely make it my regular spot to take my clients!!!!!

Had dinner here last night and really enjoyed it. The service was very friendly, ambiance was great too. We loved the cocktails (ideal husband was my favorite), and their burger was delicious. They also have this awesome, very instagrammable dessert - the sphere. Totally recommend dining here.

Fun establishment, good was so, so but the staff was great and music was awesome.

The live music was fantastic! But their food weren’t as good as I thought would be. I had Chilled lobster and F&R burger and were both stinky, fries were overcooked. They don’t have a wide selection of wine but were able to make different types of cocktail that were not on the menu.

Delicious food and great cocktails. The outdoor area is really charming, and on the night of our visit the live jazz gave a very Parisian feel to the place. Service was prompt and to the point.

Highly recommended for a quality, low key night in midtown.

Went here for my mom’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make her feel celebrated. The staff was attentive and the food was good. A tad dark when you initially walk in but your eyes adjust.

This place is so good!! Today was my 1st anniversary. And i made great memories. Perfect👍

  • Review 163 (2019-10-25 - Rating: 4)

Very góod but way overpriced for the experience. Our staff was capable but not stellar for the price point. Table next to us had to send an order back, because it was not done as ordered. It was replaced with minimal questioning but at these prices, it should have been right the firs time. Still, four stars, because our meals were very good and the spirit selection is impressive.

  • Review 164 (2023-04-05 - Rating: 4)

Beautiful venue with great jazz artists that play live every night. Cocktails were good and food was yummy, but our entrees came out room temperature and cold. The desserts were really delicious and creative.Waiters basically ignored us the entire night while the place wasnt packed and there were a bunch of staff. Felt like our food was sitting because the waiters forgot to bring it. Took over ten minutes for them to ask for drinks and another 20 to ask for apps and entrees. Apps and dessert came fast, but entrees took forever and came out at room temperature.Really fun experience and it was so close to being a 10/10, but the non existent service and cold food really brings it down.

If youre looking for a fantastic dinner near Bryant Park - this is it! My partner and I take a romantic weekend trip to NYC every year around christmas-time, and this was our choice for dinner this year. They do have vegan options, which is fantastic! Its hard to find upscale dining thats also plant based friendly. Our server Greg was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing information about the drink selection. If youre interested in learning about what youre drinking its certainly a bonus. Our Japanese Whiskies were both very tasty! The live music is also a nice touch. I cant speak for how the music sounds every night, but the jazzy Christmas music was very classy and added to the atmosphere. If youre getting drinks and entrées, expect to spend about $200 - possibly more if youre looking to get appetizers and pricier drinks.

Great live music and ambience and great table service (checks in every 20mins or so), and amazing selection of spirits. I heard that bottles on the shelf were reserved for customers who bought them to come back for consumption. Food (gnocchi) could be better.

  • Review 167 (2022-04-05 - Rating: 5)

This place had EXACTLY what I was looking for! Great food, great service and a great band! They played and sang songs from 1920s. The Roaring 20s are BACK!
