    Excellent food and a wonderful staff. Outstanding local Carnegie Hill spot. Simply must try when you’re in the area. The salmon was delicious with some of the tastiest Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had. And the sole with the mustard cream sauce rocked my world. The tuna tartar with guac is top shelf. Get the donut holes to share for dessert and you won’t be disappointed.

    Local place,very quiet and nice. If you are tired of going to museums, you can always stop by here. Good food ,drinks too. Wanna say thank for bartender, because he was so nice to me and my boyfriend,and I really like his sense of humor.

    This restaurant sits right on Madison Ave very close to Central Park.It is very cozy but super cute too.I arrived right Brunch and lunch time and even though they were a little bit busy and already had reservations booked, they still sat me and took great care of me.My server was Kate and she was very knowledgeable about their cuisine.As an appetizer they serve popovers with strawberry jelly. The popovers doesn’t really taste like anything but the strawberry jelly more than compensates for it so be sure to eat them together.I order the scrambled eggs and it came with bacon, leafy greens, potatoes and multi grain bread. I loved the entire combination but their bacon was by far the best bacon I have ever had from any restaurant. Not sure if they smoke it and what they do, but it is delicious.I am so glad I went there for brunch, I received great service, the price was very fair and the food was also pretty tasty. #brunch

    We love Island. The menu and ambience uniquely reflects this neighborhood in the upper Manhattan. Service is top notch as well, you feel at home. Try the lobster roll or curry chicken!

    This is a charming, pleasant restaurant. Indoors and outdoors are both good. The food is good, but not exciting. The roast chicken is devine. The fresh berries dessert is delicious. The waitstaff are quick and friendly, but not too friendly- just right. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant.

    Went with a few friends for a nice dinner. Started with a calamari and salad to share. Both were great.I had the sesame tuna and was cooked perfectly. Couple friends only had burgers but they really enjoyed them. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and server was friendly. Had the donut holes for desert and they were great. Hope to make it bck to try the swordfish or curry chicken.

    I ordered the tomato soup which was yummy 😋, salad nicoise,which reminded me of when I was studying French, we made as one of our classes, of it wasnt fresh tuna like this one. I sat at the bar while waiting to be sitted .

    One of the best meal experiences I’ve had in a while. Started with an incredible Knob Creek Manhattan. The Blistered Shiseido Pepper and the roasted beet apps were unexpectedly delicious. All vegetables were great including our sides. Monkfish special in a lemon cream sauce was a top 10 entree. Warm chocolate brownie desert was excellent. Sat in the back which was wrapped in wood with sconce lighting. Felt like I was on a yacht. Waitress was really sweet although I wish she came around slightly more often. I can’t wait to go back!

    Good service and great food if youre in the neighborhood. Only reason I dont give it a five, is because the outside area was pretty much empty and they took a while to bring us the food. But they were nice and food pretty good.

    Great food great atmosphere but the kitchen was overextended last night. We waited over an hour for our appetizers to be served to us. Had to check with staff several times. Other than that all was good, seafood skewers excellent and the red snapper out of this world. Loud , alive upper east vibe, older crowd.

    Went here for lunch with my coworker, I order the tuna tartar as a starter and it was sooo good, for entrée I had the lobster quesadillas and my oh my it sure live up to the hype. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, the service was great and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend!

    Four of us enjoyed a Sunday brunch here and the food was well-portioned and delicious. The service was solid and the atmosphere was upscale yet casual. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and we will returning.

    Delicious food. Beautiful ambiance. Excellent prosecco. On a Friday or Saturday night, the noise was deafening. However, that is my only complaint. But the food was so superb, I give it a five.

    Cougar town! lol. Beautiful place, the food and drinks were excellent. The espresso martini was delicious and the lobster quesadilla was outstanding. My only gripe was that every woman in there was hitting on my boyfriend and they were twice if not thrice his age. 🤣Nice spot though, we’re going back for NYE!

    This was my first rstairant meal after leaving nyc on March 23 temporarily to be close to loved ones. This was hands down my favorite meal not only for that atmospheric significance but also for the food and service. Even though we ate take out it was done with dignity and respect to the hard earned work by the chefs. Cloth napkins! Rose wine custom by the house in beautiful packaging with french AOC style approval! Watermelon salad done to be both vegan and non vegan friendly, just order a double and hold the sauce and feta (onions too if you are on a date). The lobster roll did have mayo on it (boo) it was very light mayo and was gone (but just in ncase ask a Kennebunkport how they feel about it )Very happy server was amazing - she has a blue and white shirt on today - go say hi. Tell her we were the ones sitting with mayor linden

    Just wanted to recommend this restaurant for it’s great menu and pleasant atmosphere, I personally like to thank Steve the bartenders for the good conversation with Jan and I, treating us like we were locals, being from out of town. Jan and I say thank you once again to all the staff at a great restaurant.

    This used to be my favorite neighborhood place and over 30 years after moving away its still a reliable standby.Great ambiance. Warm and intimate. The bistro style wicker chairs just make the place.Attentive staff, well prepared bistro style food and mixed drinks.Glad to see they survived the pandemic. Well worth a visit.

    I honestly cannot speak to the food, but had to get on to write a review about the staff at this restaurant. I had an unfortunate incident today where I was being harassed and followed on the street. I instinctively ducked into Island because it was the first place I saw. Three of the staff - two young women and one waiter, instantly sprang into action to help me. They sat me down, calmed my nerves, and brought me a glass of water. They patiently and kindly let me sit for minutes and escorted me out of the restaurant safely. I wish I got their names but I was so frazzled. I am so appreciative and thankful for their help today. I will definitely be returning to the restaurant to actually experience the food soon. The management and owner of Island should be extremely proud of the high quality staff they have hired.

    Strolling through the upper east side and decided to stop in - so glad we did! Food was excellent, ambiance was relaxed and inviting, service was spot on. We had the avocado toast, side of smoked bacon, 2 Bellinis and the chicken meatballs - portions were perfect! Would def come back and highly recommend!!
