The Ragtrader is a great spot to visit. I visited with some friends and we highly recommend coming here for Brunch. The French toast, pancakes and the potbelly sandwich were really good. If you can pair it with the bottomless mimosas, please do so.However, I have to say that the best part was the server. Our waiter Amanda was the absolute best and made it even better!!!If you can ask for Amanda section, do so. She is amazing!!! -

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Ragtrader twice, and each time was a fantastic experience thanks to the wonderful service and ambiance. On my first visit, Maria was my server, and she truly went above and beyond. From the moment I sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Maria’s warmth and professionalism really stood out, making the experience memorable and enjoyable. On my second visit, Patrick was my server, and he also provided excellent service. It’s clear that The Ragtrader places a high value on customer experience, as both Maria and Patrick exceeded my expectations with their attention to detail and genuine hospitality. The food was fantastic, with a range of delicious options that were well-prepared and beautifully presented. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, with its cozy and stylish vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. I had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend The Ragtrader, especially with great servers like Maria and Patrick who make every visit memorable! -

I held a dinner for my client and a group of fans here and my experience from beginning to end at Ragtrader was FANTASTIC!From the planning a week before, the manager Jenny was so helpful in bringing everything I wanted the experience to be for the client and his guests. She went above and beyond making sure we were well taken care of.Our head server Connor and his assistant Nikki on the day of the dinner were efficient accommodating and very friendly with the group and giving us so many options to choose from their incredible menu.Having a vegetarian in our group was no problem as they had many vegetarian options to choose from. She ended up ordering the Mushroom Bolognese which she said was absolutely delicious. My group also ordered the crispy salmon, burger and the hanger steak and they were all delicious.Their desserts were delicious too and my client ordered the toffee pudding which came with a free fire show which was so much fun and the menu for a NYC midtown Manhattan dinner on a Saturday night at Ragtrader was very decently priced. This place was complete great vibes, and a great casual dining restaurant.Thank you to all the staff at the Ragtrader for making our dinner such a memorable experience. This place has a great front patio private section which we will definitely come back again to hold another private event here!I 10000000% recommend this place! -

We did not eat, just went in for drinks. We were staying close and it was unbelievably cold outside, so we decided to stop and have some drinks. This is a really cool place. The service was awesome. We were able to sit at the bar and that is what we always prefer. Its laid back and well worth a stop by for a drink. Next time, we will order some food; what we did see looked delicious. -

Our hotel is next door, quick and easy seating. The host was so nice. Our server, Eric, greeted us in a timely manner. He was professional and took care of all of our needs. Food was great! Cozy atmosphere, decorated for Christmas. -

Yesterday, we had an outstanding experience that ensured our return. Seated in the dimly lit back of the restaurant, we enjoyed an intimate ambiance. Surprisingly, the staff didnt overlook our anniversary, presenting us with complimentary champagne and a heartfelt card. Our waitress, Annalynn, was professional, friendly, and efficient, guiding us through the specials and recommending desserts. The food and drinks were impeccable, served promptly and tasting delicious. It was a perfect anniversary dinner, and we highly recommend it. Thank you once more! -

We visited this site during our tour of NY. It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere , service, knowledge of establishment and surroundings and conversation was well above par. Thoroughly enjoyed conversing with manager and bartenderRuth the bartender has the best personality and is very welcoming and the AGM Ashley is prompt and welcoming and informed us of night life we were not aware of. We are visiting again tonight for speak easy and are very excited. If you are in the area please visit this place. I am a restaurant owner and I strongly recommend places like this a must see spot in NYC -

I am in love with this restaurant!!! Definitely going there again. I enjoyed the service, the vibe, the energy, the atmosphere and the food!! It was a really cool spot for dinner with friends, a first-fun date, a night out with siblings, etc. I really enjoyed my visit here. I’ll be back for sure. Everything was so clean, well kept, well managed. The food came out pretty fast, and it was so good. The drinks were great. The bathrooms were clean and wellkept. I recommend visiting here for sure. It’s definitely a place that tourists need to visit.Parking is a little difficult but not impossible. All the trains are right there - yellow & orange lines, the red, blue & green lines are in the surrounding areas. -

Great vibe and also great prices not super expensive for the area. I like their menu it’s interesting and they don’t have all the same stuff. They also have a pretty decent pizza which I was really surprised about. We shared a bottle of white wine that was OK I’d recommend they reevaluate their line list that would be my only recommendation . My husband had the special which was a pasta and was really good. Also totally recommend getting the sticky toffee pudding dessert it’s a spectacle and definitely eat it there. They are also on seated which is nice. -

Came to Ragtrader yesterday in the early evening with my adult daughter to get a cocktail and some food after a wonderful Christmas shopping day trip to NYC and we were not disappointed! Our server was Shane (we sat at the gorgeous bar) and he made us feel so welcome, he made great cocktails, and he was just so nice and the perfect balance of fun and attentive. Our food was great, perfect portions and great menu choices.Highly recommend this place and Shane! -

Nice restaurant in midtown. Loved the interiors and the vibe of this place. The food was delicious. I had the Crispy Skin Salmon with Black rice and Green Curry Sauce and I liked it a lot. The scallops was cooked perfectly and the sweet potato fries were good too. For dessert, we had the Blueberry cheesecake and the Sticky Toffee pudding and it was amazing. A perfect way to end our meal. They make really good cocktails as well. Service was nice, quick and efficient. They have a piano cocktail bar at the basement which would be fun to check out next time. Make your reservations ahead of time. Great experience overall and will definitely be back. Highly recommend. -

Just had Sunday brunch at The Ragtrader. Our group of 6 was celebrating a birthday and our server Amanda was amazing! She went out of her way to make the birthday girl feel special. We had drinks, delicious entrees and over the top gelato. The ambiance here was warm and inviting. Memorable for sure! -

Somewhat of a hidden gem. More people need to know about this fantastic place. Service is always top notch and the food is really great. I love bringing out of town friends here. Definitely a New York experience you won’t forget. -
Review 14 (2022-11-08 - Rating: 4)
Good restaurant. The menu is decent and middle ground, nothing to groundbreaking while having some classics. The service was alright however the server did forget to come back to the table after talking with another table for awhile. So another server stepped in and handled the remaining drinks and bill. I would recommend for a more quiet atmosphere as it is a bit away from the more crowded sections of midtown. I really liked the mixed drinks and the ceviche tacos are a must for anyone, they really were very fresh. Four stars, as I expected better table service for a low key night that was not packed. -

Absolutely stunning holiday decor! In love with the ambience, service, and drinks here. Ensure you make reservations if you plan to sit at a table. The waiter at the bar was friendly, fast and cheery. Other staff members were also in good spirits. Great vibes for couples or groups of friends. Would definitely come back if in the Midtown area. -

Went to have dinner and drinks before heading to Madison Sq garden because sometimes you just need a break from the bro - Irish bar scene... And this place delivered. The pizza was good, the wings were solid although admittedly, have had better. The sweet potato fries were waffle fries and good. Great service from Patrick our waiter. Would return. -

We waited a little bit for the food to come but everything was great! The cauliflower fritters were a nice surprise that was recommended to us! I had the artichoke and olive which was delicious and in my opinion was way better than the margherita! Overall great food and service! -
Review 20 (2022-09-21 - Rating: 4)
Bo peep has been on my list of places to try out for a while. The idea of eating food while listening to live music sounds nice, but realistically speaking, if Im out eating food, Im probably trying to catch up with a friend. On this particular occasion, my party did not need to catch up over a meal, so we made reservations for the earlier seating and was escorted to the basement by a staff member. The dim lighting with the plush velvety seats really set a cozy mood where it feels like being enveloped in a big hug by the live music. The highlight for me was of course the music and the fact that all of the servers all sang some songs, talk about talent!!! The food itself was fine for bar food, nothing too memorable in my opinion but nothing horrible either. We ended up ordering the donuts for dessert, which was a plate of three fluffy donuts in different flavors. The bread itself was kind of dense and did not meet my expectations for what a fluffy donut should be like. Overall, dense donuts aside, I had such a good time that I keep thinking back on my experience. So I will need to visit again soon! -

Fantastic hidden gem. I was there before the pandemic. I had to check them out again and they didn’t disappoint. There are 2 places; Ragtrader & The parlour. Either one would be good for drinks, private event or just hangout with friends / family. The food is amazing and plenty of liquor to choose from. Great ambiance and service. -
Review 22 (2022-04-18 - Rating: 5)
Interior design was PERFECT but weather was so nice we decided to dine outside. Cocktails were delicious. We had roasted carrots, fries and buffalo chicken pizza and they all taste great. Especially the pizza is good, fresh and a little spicy. I prefer more onions with chicken pizza but overall it was good. Carrot we delicious but goat cheese under it wasn’t enough. Overall great experience. I’ll come here again to sit inside and will try the sister place Parlour for sure. -

Came after work with a friend. Had reservations for Bo Peep at 5:30 on wednesday. When we were seated we were told there was a 2 hour limit with a reservation after us. Although as the evening went on, the place was more than half empty. The place is cozy and super dark. Our waitress was attentive and our food came out really quick. The cocktails were delicious, but not as boozy as some other places around here.Highly recommend the street corn. That side is totally bomb. Great flavors. We also loved the wings. Very crispy and seasoned well. The calamari was tender and fresh. Would have preferred the smaller pieces as these rings are huge. Would have been better a bit more bit sized. The chicken sliders were also great. Crispy and flavorful. My friend got a few of the mocktails and really enjoyed them. If youre here for the music its nice but man dont expect to have a conversation here. It was LOUD. I was actually surprised at the volume for such a small place. We couldnt yell loud enough to hear each other so we just peaced out once we were done the food. -
Review 25 (2024-02-09 - Rating: 4)
The Ragtrader upstairs restaurant has a very cool interior with dim lighting and eclectic pieces along the walls, making it really feel like a refurbished garment factory. Service upstairs was good and the allium flatbread was delicious. When I ate at the Ragtrader, the Bo Peep piano bar wasnt open and I recently returned to try it. I loved the rosebud cocktail, food was pretty good we shared the brie, wings, mac & cheese and tuna tartare. But the experience was really not what I was expecting; I thought with the description speakeasy piano bar it would be a relaxing vibe with soft piano music. But the piano was extremely loud, and service was not very good because the servers were also singing on the mic with the piano which was even louder. And the songs they were singing were top 40s covers, which I thought clashed with the jazzy speakeasy feel of the space (which was very well decorated I will say). Overall I would not return to the downstairs bar because it was so loud it hurt our ears and we couldnt talk to each other, but would recommend the upstairs for cocktails and a small bite. -

Review 27 (2022-07-09 - Rating: 5)
I came here with my husband and close friend looking for a NYC lunch experience and Rag Trader did not disappoint. I made a reservation about 45 minutes in advance through Resy and though we arrived early we were able to be seated right away. The ambiance is so exactly what I was looking for...that vintage NYC theme giving you interesting items to look at and adding to conversations over a great meal. Our server was very kind and attentive. She helped make our experience memorable and the customer service we received would definitely contribute to us coming back. I ordered the Bandit cocktail and my friend ordered a Tom Collins cocktail to start. Both were delicious. The Bandit was light and fresh, which was exactly what I was looking for. We ordered the Burrata to share and I can confirm what many other reviewers have previously said; the Burrata is superb. We were going for a light lunch; so I ordered the tuna tartare crudo. My friend ordered the octopus small plate and the salmon poke crudo. The octopus was really ordered for the table to share because we were all interested. The octopus was surprisingly good. Im not sure what I was expecting, but the way they cooked it was perfect....it was not chewy at all and the smoked flavor really came through. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the salmon poke and the portion was large enough she asked us to help her finish it. My husband ordered the B.L.A.T. sandwich also known as a BLT with avocado. He said it hit the spot. We had a great experience and highly recommend the Rag Trader to anyone looking for a good meal and great atmosphere. Thanks! -

Stopped at this place after we arrived in NY and dropped off our bags at the Best Western up the block before our flight to Paris. It was pouring down raining so didnt want to wander the streets looking for places to eat and most places were closed even though it was Mothers Day.I thought the food selection was ok but very pricey. I had a glass of champagne and my son and I split an order of sweet potato fries. The waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was really cute. Being a lover of fashion I noticed the sketches on the walls and then realized all of the decor was fashion related. So after taking a few pictures I had to ask the hostess about the theme of the restaurant. She explained it used to be an old clothing factory that specialized in childrens clothes. I thought that was so sweet. We had a nice experience and were hyped up for our trip to Paris. I dont know that I would recommend this restaurant because the food was somewhat average and it was a bit pricey. -

The speak easy I visited last night had a captivating atmosphere that immediately transported me back in time. The dimly lit room was filled with vintage furniture, and the staff wore period-appropriate attire. I was impressed by the expertly crafted cocktails, each made with high-quality ingredients and presented with care. The staff was knowledgeable, talented and attentive, providing discreet service that added to the allure of the establishment. The live jazz style panio music perfectly complemented the ambiance and set the mood for a memorable evening. Overall, the speak easy bar delivered a unique and enjoyable experience that left a lasting impression. -

What a treat. This place is the definition of a swank night out in Manhattan! We absolutely loved everything about it.From the moment we arrived, the host was gracious, made us feel welcome and we were seated immediately. The space is absolutely fantastic. It has high ceilings, a beautiful bar, perfect lighting, interesting decorations and just a really cool energy and ambiance. We ate upstairs, however there is lower level that has live music and another excellent spot....I actually snuck away for 10 minutes just to experience it. Such a fun room with fun musicians! Our dining experience was excellent. Daniel was our waiter and he was such a pro! He was charming and a gentleman and he truly took pride in his job!All of Daniels recommendations were excellent and delicious! From the spicy Tequila cocktails, the tasty appetizers and unbelievably delicious main courses....my salmon was off the charts great! So was the lobster, tacos, short ribs, dessert etc....The wine list was also nice. We enjoyed some really wonderful Pinot Gregio which complimented our food. Then we had a nice Port with our dessert and finished with another spicy Tequila cocktail! It was an outstanding evening! This is a very special place and I cant wait to go back! -

Loved the place! We went there to chill and for drinks. Place is cozy and with friendly bartender! Didn’t manage to get her name but she is very funny and helpful! The only thing that we weren’t happy about is that they close too early on a Saturday night! 😅 -

Went here last week and had a splendid time. Had a baby kale salad which was quite nice, but the real treat was the El Guapo cocktail, highly recommend! Its not too sweet, and the juiced cucumber really gives it that freshness one needs on a hot summers day. The staff was also very lovely, many thanks to Ruth who was so sweet to my friend and me.EDIT: Came back here a few weeks ago and was so happy to see Ruth again. She was so sweet and happy to see me again. Had a really tasty cauliflower steak, and had to of course have an El Guapo cocktail. -

First time and it was absolutely amazing food and service! Pizza was phenomenal as was sticky toffee pudding!! Beautiful and scrumptious! Manager visited the table, Ashley, and the experience was phenomenal. Highly recommended! They also have live music downstairs. A must see in NY! -
Review 35 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 5)
We had the steak tartare and it was amazing. We also ordered the lamb meatballs with spinach and cream and those were amazing too. The burrata was kinda small and the fried calamari portion was also kinda small. The pistachio crème brûlée was very good. The drinks were very good. According to my partner the sangria needed a little bit of alcohol. The mezcal drink was really good. The atmosphere is good as the place is not that noisy like most places in NY and you can actually have a conversation without screaming. I would recommend it overall. -

Came here after watching a broadway show on a Sunday night. I was sad to see that the speakeasy was closed, but nonetheless, I was drawn to the aperol spritz decor! I ordered their cheeseburger (medium rare) and it was cooked to perfection! Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. It’s a huge burger and thank goodness I split it to share. Looking to make my next reservation here next time (Shoutout to Stephanie, for being so kind! Thank you!) -

Excellent service from both host at ragtrader and down at Bo peep. We decided we wanted to move and they accommodated us no problem. Food quality and portions were stellar, and drinks were beautiful, expertly crafted, and delicious. Amazing environment down in bo peep, both before and during the live music. One of my new favorite eclectic cocktail bars. -

We had a work happy hour at the ragtrader and they were extremely friendly in accommodating for our large party! We drank at the ragtrader and ordered a couple of plates to share. The spicy margaritas was definitely a favorite for our group. For small plates we ordered fries & dip, tacos, hummus, margarita pizza and mac & cheese. All the food was extremely delicious and great portions.Highly recommend coming here for some drinks and bites! -

We are visiting NYC and had an amazing time at The Ragtrader. Our server, Connor, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and preparation of the dishes. My wife’s scallops were excellent as was my branzino. While we rarely order dessert we decided to take a look at the dessert menu which is when Connor stated that he felt that the pistachio and grapefruit crème brûlée wasn’t ordered as often as it deserved. I have never seen grapefruit in a dessert before and questioned how such a tart ingredient would work. Although he insisted it was excellent we opted for tiramisu. Connor then brought us both desserts just so we could try the crème brûlée and it was amazing! Candied grapefruit peel was a revelation. Who knew? We certainly didn’t but we know now and wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. The manager, Bruno, came over and asked us about it after introducing himself and we advised how much we enjoyed it. We plan on returning before going home and highly recommend this fine restaurant. Great food and people. Thank you! -

Popped in for a late lunch/early dinner as this place was close to our hotel while visiting for the weekend. Very nice welcoming ambiance and we were promptly seated. Unfortunately our table (even for NYC standards) was WAY too close to the next party and they made their dismay clear. Fortunately they got their check shortly thereafter and no one else was seated at that four top for the rest of our meal. The food itself was good. We had the ribs as an appetizer which we enjoyed and were grateful for as we were pretty hungry and probably wouldn’t have been quite full on just our entrees. The drinks we ordered and we enjoyed as well and felt they were fair for the prices charged which were very typical of NYC. Overall a pleasant meal but nothing that blew us away. -

Solid place with excellent drink options for any pallette. We had items from the snacks/small menu (really because there was so many items that looked good we wanted to try them) and every dish, through dessert was great. Atmosphere, service, food - if you hit them all, you get top marks. I will be back. -

Came by to Bopeep piano lounge last night and it was a great vibe for a Monday night. Aaron served us an exceptional piano playlist and when he called out the Bartender to sing we were blown away!!!! Wow she moved me to tears. Talented staff all around, great drinks as well we didn’t get to try the food but looked good. -

First of all, please note that The Ragtrader is what we had dinner at. And Bo Peep Cocktail and Highball Store is right next door that requires a separate reservation to get in - has live piano performance and cocktails (what I was told). We had 2 rounds of drinks, appetizers (beef tartar and deviled eggs), a pizza, and entrees. Everything was on spot and nothing was disappointing at all. Their alcoholic drinks are STRONG and really tasty. Definitely worth the money you paid for. -

We tried Ragtraded Bo Peep on W 36th Street after seeing it recommended in a thread—and it did not disappoint! Surprisingly, it wasn’t the cocktails, the atmosphere, or even the company that impressed me the most. It was the beef tartare… absolutely incredible! -

First of all, the interior of this place is really cool. I love the arm chairs and decor. Front staff was really friendly. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I strongly suggest making reservations. We had the Cajun deviled eggs and they were so good. I ordered the salmon and we also had the buffalo chicken pizza. Both were delicious as were the cocktails. The black rice the salmon came with and the sauce on the salmon really added to the dish. The crispy salmon skin also made the dish quite tasty.I recommend this place as a cute date night. There’s also a jazz spot downstairs that you need reservations to. I’d def come back. -

Super vegan friendly menu - the cauliflower steak was highly recommended and did not disappoint. They have a mix of sidewalk dining and a few covered booths that are further from the street. We visited on a Friday night to enjoy the live music. Great spot in Koreatown! -

The gruyere mac and cheese was divine. It was so cheesy, had the perfect gooey texture, and was not too liquidy. The tacos and pizza were ok. The brussels sprouts were also fantastic. They were crispy on the edges and had a touch of sweetness from the sauce. -

Came here for a negroni week event hosted by Campari. Nice space with a downstairs speakeasy. They served their pizza which they also have on their regular menu. I thought the dough could be a little crispier but overall not too bad. Sauce is tasty -

Came here for Sunday brunch, it was a day after blizzard so the place as empty when we arrived. We got three different servers throughout our 2 hours brunch which seem strange. But everyone was great, service was excellent. The brunch menu was decent, my chicken waffle tho; tiny portion; i was expecting at least double of the size for a $17 dish: a little disappointing. The hash was ok, not crispy. We had the two hours bottomless with choices of three flavors of mimosa and two option of beer. our glasses were never empty. They kept refilling them. -

We visited Rag Trader yesterday during Covid. They had partitioned seating outside with live music. It started raining but they have overhangs and it wasn’t an issue. I had the Tuna Tartare, sweet potato fries and some of the Cauliflower Steak (vegan). Everything was amazing. We drank The Bandit and Three Piece Suit. The Three Piece Suit was a little strong but The Bandit was amazing.Lucky to find this place with vegan friendly options for our group. -

I went here yesterday (during pandemic) to celebrate my friends birthday and loved it!! They have great customer service, your table is seperated from the next party by pexi-glass. Drinks and food, especially the sausage pizza (I dont like sausage that much) were SO Good!! I did make a reservation the morning of and about an hour-and-a-half before my original time I had to push it to a later time and they were very accommodating. Place looks beautiful inside. Ill be going back. -

Review 65 (2020-10-01 - Rating: 5)
I was a lil skeptical coming here because it seemed like it was more of a bar than a food & drinks place. Boy was I wrong! The food was phenomenal, specifically the Allium pizza. It takes like French onion soup, to a tee. Both of my friends at dinner regretted not getting the Allium. Also the drinks are ridiculously good, and strong! Today was the first day NYC allowed indoor dining and I was so glad because this place is so cool inside. Super old school vibes with a huge bar running on the inside. Not to mention there was a live piano player and singers!! Highly recommend, definitely not hyped up enough! -

This place was rockin on a Thursday night. We had a dinner reservation and were seated promptly near the bar area. Drinks were amazing - you have to try the Three Piece Suit (old fashioned) and El Guapo (margarita). Salads were large and delicious. Unfortunately our entrees took a long time to come and we had a show to go to, so we told the manager we had to leave and he graciously paid our bill and apologized. We left a nice tip and want to come back. -

Ceviche was to die for and excellent service! Also added bonus- there is the Bo peep speak easy downstairs. On the night we went there was a pianist named Aaron, super talented. Cocktails are pricey( min.15$) but tasty. -

Great brunch and boozy punches. The burger was solid and the fried chicken and waffle sandwich looked delightful. Someone in the group got a grilled cheese and it looked really good too. The pineapple punch was very smoky.. we were warned. Lovely decor inside paying homage to the garment workers who used to work in the building (former factory). Overall enjoyed everything, cant wait to come back! -

Loved the overall vibe of this place! I was meeting up with some friends and they had a table in their speakeasy downstairs. They had a live pianist who was incredibly talented and to my surprise our server Jean got up and performed! Turns out the staff was also musically talented. Order the Cauliflower Fritters…I wish I had a whole order to myself. Trust. Would also like to shout out our bartender Cole and the manager Rafael for adding to the atmosphere and making our time that more enjoyable. Definitely will have me coming back! -

We had one of the best dinners in a long time here last night. From the super comfortable dining chairs and booths, to the excellent and friendly service, and the eye-catching decor displaying the restaurant’s roots as a garment factory, the atmosphere was unbeatable. We were very happy with the drinks, and the appetizers were the stars of the show. Our table got the broccolini, Mac and cheese, and the fries with dips which were all elevated and flavorful beyond our expectations. Our mains were great as well and we were left satisfied and very happy that we found this place. -

As a restauranteur I am always inspired by beautiful restaurants and this one was a huge hit for me on a recent trip to New York City. Food, service and atmosphere were all on point! Well done to the staff and team. The lighting in particular is perfection and your adherence to your overall theme impressive.A personal thank you to Connor, who served us three Canadian ladies with attention and personality. He took the time to not only do his job with professional care, but also paused to answer our many questions about the restaurant. He was passionate and knowledgeable - even taking pride in showing us around the many beautiful spaces in the establishment - including the charming speakeasy in the basement. Give this guy a raise, a promotion or at very least buy him a drink. He is a keeper! This is a true testament to the importance of great restaurants as they set the stage for beautiful moments in life. Thank you! -

Review 117 (2023-08-08 - Rating: 4)
Reason why it’s Ragtrader & Bo Beep is that Ragtrader is a ground floor restaurant and Bo Beep is underground speakeasy. I visited here around weekend noon cause I wanted to try its highball but that’s only available by Bo Beep that opens at 5pm, which is not really clear when just reading Google Map’s info. So I had to learn all these in an inconvenient way.I still got my seat at the bar in Ragtrader and just gave it a shot. I liked Watermelon Cooler and pizza, but not to the extent that I would like to revisit for them. The cocktail was like watermelon juice and the pizza’s dough kinda felt like pastry. I did enjoy chilling at this very large and cozy space especially when it was not packed. I can imagine this place getting super loud when packed. UPDATE: revisited to try underground speakeasy, and it was very puzzling experience. I loved the ambience with nice interior and it was really intriguing that waitresses here actually get properly staged with jazz piano and do some singing performance. However, cocktails incl high ball were one of the worst ones I’ve had. They tasted like as if I’m taking a sip of juice, another sip of alcohol and then mix them in my own mouth. Alcoholic taste and non-alcoholic taste just didn’t get along at all.Not changing original 4 stars as ground floor restaurant was not bad and I still enjoyed so much of that ambience itself from the underground speakeasy. -

Review 122 (2022-10-03 - Rating: 5)
The salmon w/black rice was delicious, well-portioned, and aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant itself possessed an ambience of calm despite the high traffic of the location - which might have been because they properly place duos along the perimeter seats. Furthermore, the service was as it should be - with the waiter making proper menu recommendations and checking in on us throughout the night. This location is good for dates or friend groups. The dimmed lighting and sometimes peculiar pictures scattered along the walls are a great addition to the ambience and make for easy conversation topics. I highly recommend placing a reservation as it can get busy as the night goes on. -

Review 124 (2022-09-19 - Rating: 5)
Wonderful food, lovely staff. You can tell the managers care about their staff, as when we were being seated, the hostess came back and wanted us to go to a different table than where we were headed with the manager, and he then asked her where should we go instead (very politely). Then another manager was constantly making rounds upstairs, downstairs, talking to staff and customers. The food is so good, cant understate that - and the drinks were fun (and poured/presented nicely). We were so impressed with this place! -

The baby kale salad and the beef tartare were also great. Would definitely return here and would recommend. -

Really nice spot. Came for a bite to eat on friday night at the bar. The drinks are high quality, the food was mediocre. The atmosphere and restaurant is really nice for food and drinks. A bit loud for a date, but could work. Brussel sprouts were delicious. The food can get a slight upgrade and it would be a solid five stars. Its was mediocre at best, especially for nyc. That being said, i will be back, the cost was well worth it and it is very conveniently located -

This place has good vibes in general. As soon as you enter you are received in a pleasant way. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly, she gave us recommendations about the menu and what to order. I ordered the burrata and tuna tartare, they were ok but they lacked flavor, for the next course we ordered pizza and the grill cheese sandwich with bacon. The pizza had all the flavors but the dough was soft personally I like my pizza a bit more crispy, the sandwich was delicious no complaints. The cocktails tasted good. This is a nice place to eat and have social drinks. -

This resturant is AMAZING!!!! Went with my coworker we were told 1 hour wait was seated in 2 minutes. The atmosphere is top notch. Very retro, but in the best way possible. Not in the cheesy sense. Wesley was our waiter and he was the BEST. Very attentive, friendly and never made us feel like other tables were more important than ours. We are visiting New York and this is definitely a staple in our book. I would recommend to anyone coming to New York to visit. -

This is really more of a 4.5, but that’s not an option. Service was a 5. Our waiter was great, energetic and attentive. Location is a 5. Food was a 4. My fried chicken sandwich was rather dry and my wife’s cheeseburger was juicy, but enough to soak the bun juicy, which isn’t ideal. Drinks were good, but pricey. My old fashioned was a special version and seemed a light pour with three big ice cubes to distract from the lack of liquid in the glass. Value overall a 3.5. -

This was very much a treat. I stopped by on a whim to find this gem of a restaurant during the last night in the city and was very happy to be seated quickly and in one of the coolest dining areas that I’ve ever come across. I can see how it would be great for date night or just a more upscale night out. The ambiance was upbeat and lively, the service was attentive and informative and the food was extremely good. The staff were all impeccably dressed and professional. Shout out to Tyrell for his great recommendations and super welcoming demeanor. Loved the salmon and the hanger steak and cheeseburger were also very good. I tried a Rose cider and loved it. I know the Down Easter is also on their menu and also nicely balanced. I highly recommend for a great adult night out. -

Review 160 (2019-11-18 - Rating: 4)
I came here right after work and this place was packed for a Thursday night! After tasting the food and looking at the beer selection, I clearly see why. Service was extremely amazing, they were attentive even though there were literally tons of people all around!Okay, fair warning, I came for a corporate function so I didnt look at any prices so this is purely on the food and drink options. We ordered a variety of pizzas, chicken sandwiches, deviled eggs, and french fries. I wish I knew each pizza order because honestly some of them were just amazing and I want to have it again. Each pizza was consistently delicious, crisp and thin crusts with excellent toppings. I highly recommend any of the pizzas that are topped with arugula as they were absolutely phenomenal! The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, crispy, seasoned well and great sauce on the sandwich. Deviled eggs are simple with a slight kick but so so sooo good! I would honestly be fine eating deviled eggs and drinking a beer!I would definitely return to try more things off the menu and sample all the other beers. -

Interesting bathroom aesthetic aside, the restaurant had a nice feel to it and was great for a date night - though for more budget conscious folks you can definitely spread your dollar further elsewhere. The broccolini was pretty good, a little less char and it wouldve been perfect. The wings werent my favorite but not bad. The fries were hot and well salted and definitely went better with the steak than I thought (since it was on the less salty side by itself). Cant comment on the salmon personally but I was told it was good. Drinks were okay. -

It is a good place for small groups events as you can book a small area for your own group. I tried 4 types of their pizzas and all were good. The other dishes were okay. The place was packed when we were there and it looks as if it is always like that. Friendly and helpful staff. -

Beautiful restaurant and bar, very cool decor. The food was great and hot. The service was phenomenal as well. I recommend getting the hot prosciutto and chicken on panini special with smoked mozzarella. It was one of the best sandwiches I have had in years. -

This restaurant was beyond our expectations after a long day at the Bronx Zoo with two six year olds. We started with the devilled eggs, brussel sprouts and Brie. You will not be disappointed! With two six year olds we ordered a plain cheese pizza which was made especially for them. They loved it so much we ordered a second one. The adults throughly enjoyed the bolognese and cauliflower steak as well as the yummy desserts - pistachio brûlée, chocolate molten cake & sticky toffee. To top it off the service was great! -

The food was fantastic, but what really blew us away was the service. We had a great time with Connor, he really made our night special. From the moment we walked in to when we left (we didnt want to leave), they were so considerate and personable. We cant wait to come back. -

The hostess, Maicy, went above and beyond to accommodate me with my mother and 14mo old son for brunch. She was warm and welcoming. After a day of shopping, we were in need of some good food. The food was amazing and service was great. We were super grateful. Thank you! -

Our waiter Lucas was exceptional and very attentive, and the hostess was very accommodating and friendly since at the last minute we had to add and extra person. I loved that gentleman atmosphere the place had. The restaurant was clean and the food was truly good. -

Amazing atmosphere downstairs. Private, spacious, classy, and amazing music. The live music and piano is amazing. The highballs were good - not the top in NYC, but not bad either 4/5.Totally worth it for the experience and service here. Will return for more drinks -

Superb! Delicious! Exquisite! The night started off with a lovely greeting at the door. Table service was on par for the establishment. My three course meal consisted of:1. Sriracha Deviled Eggs2. Scallops3. Crispy Skin SalmonI thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have added The Ragtrader to my restaurant rotation list and will make good on it when I return January 2023. -

We were actually at Ragtrader before going to Bopeep. The food and cocktails at Ragtrader were pretty good. There is a long waiting time for Bopeep but its totally worth the wait. Its a small speak easy with Jazz music and they have a pianist there. -

The Ragtrader & Bo Peep is essentially a fusion of a good cocktail bar meant for larger groups and a speak-easy bar for smaller groups. My review talks about my experience at the Bo Peep Cocktail and Highball Store and it only pertains to drinks.Ambience:This place has the feel of a speak-easy bar and is well suited for smaller groups. The décors fantastic with the walls having books mounted on them giving you the feel of a library. Theres a small bar with seating although not as big as the one upstairs at Ragtrader. Theres jazz music playing in the background and live Piano performances in the nightMenu:Very elaborate with a wide range of cocktails classified under different sections. I chose two different drinks from the STIRRED BOOZY AND SERIOUS section and both of them were brilliant. Would highly recommend BIRDS OF A FEATHER was a blend of Rum, Vermouth, Vanilla and Cinnamon andNIGHT TIME AFFAIR which had Gin, Vermouth and Absinthe and was served in a GobletService:Our server carefully explained the different nuances of each section and recommended drinks that would suit our tastes and preferences while answering any questions about the menu. .The service was fast and prompt as well although the drinks might feel a tad overpriced at $16 per drink,All in all, a wonderful experience. Im surely going to be back again for more. -

A nice gem within walking distance of penn station. Food - the menu ranges from familiar to familiar with a twist, to unfamiliar. So depending upon how ambitious you are feeling, you can let your imagination roam (or not). Meat eaters and vegetarians alike will find a trove of food (vegans, sorry, not so much). There are plenty of small and medium plates to share and even the entrees can be split by two or three if you want the tapas type route. As with most restaurants in NYC, local and sustainable are not a strong point. Service - nearly perfect. Water glasses kept filled, food delivered hot, waiter was helpful, friendly and appeared genuinely interested in our enjoyment. There was one small moment when service utensils were needed to be reset, but the floor manager spotted it before we did (yes before!) and fixed it. Desserts were a bit of a disappointment but the dessert wine more than made up for it. I did not have a chance to really study the wine list as we opted for cocktails and such. So another trip needs to occur for more investigation.Ambiance - somewhat loud, but we sat in the back where it was quieter with a nice view of the pizza making area. Regretfully, the dim lighting is awesome, but many of the other guests were taking out bright smart phones somewhat destroying the mood. I would suggest some table lights for those guests that need them.
