    Loved this bar. We stopped here on the way to the comedy club to get a drink. Staff was friendly and drinks were insanely good and priced fairly well for being in NYC. They don’t put pricing on their drinks menu but I feel like if they did, they would probably sell more. We assumed drinks were over $20 each and once we got the bill realized it was $14 for each mixed drink.

    Planned a visit to the comedy club with some friends - as I arrived early, I randomly walked into Jake’s with my girls and let the rest of the group know. We had some drinks and so did everyone else as they arrived. We attended the show and since we had a good time before the show, we returned to Jake’s. The place was filled and we didn’t have a spot to sit as a group (10), so I asked the bartender (manager) if he would allow us to sit at the tables that were roped off (closed) and he was able to accommodate us. He was the only one bartending and he did a great job! Drinks were flowing, typical bar music was playing, and we had a good time, so much so that we stood till closing and didn’t even realize how fast time flew by. I’ll be visiting NY this weekend again and will be going to a drag show with some friends (14), I’ve already suggested Jake’s to the group and most likely will go there again. Cozy place, with great service, the drinks were great, and everything was fairly priced. Side note: Since he was able to open the area to us, in appreciation and considering that he was alone behind the bar, I used their serving trays and picked up our trash, glasses, and bottles. Thank you guys for being a great hidden gem.

    Very quaint bar. Went on a Sunday night and sat to have 1 drink. The staff is so sweet and the vibe is extremely chill. Cocktails are like 14 dollars which isnt bad for Chelsea. 8 for beer and 10 for like white claw! I recommend it

    My son and I are from out of town and thankfully found this great neighborhood spot! The service was outstanding, food was great. This was during March Madness and the place was packed. It didn’t stop both co-owners from coming over and saying hello. My son, who enjoys visiting different sports bars, said that this is one of the best he has been to in the city. Would definitely recommend the Buffalo Cauliflower!!

    We went there before the comedy show and only had 26 minutes. We were able to get a steak sandwich and a beer without being late to the show.Brandon is the best bartender, super polite and pays attention to every guest!Thanks 🙏

    Go-to for a late night beer. The bartender is wonderful. It’s unpretentious and you don’t have to be all dressed up like at other local bars in the area. It’s also affordable compared to other local spots. Great place to have a drink and watch a game or chat with locals.

    Branden the Irish bartender is awesome. My wife and I were visiting from L.A. and he made our trip fantastic. Great conversation and makes a hell of an old fashioned.Great food especially the steak quesadilla. Its delicious. Highly recommend coming here and hope to visit again next year.

    We were visiting Manhattan and to celebrate my birthday (four of us) and were walking to a different restaurant for dinner when we came across Jake’s. We had time, so we stopped in for a before dinner drink. The atmosphere is warm and very friendly, and the barman Brendon (actually from Ireland) was great!! He offered fantastic suggestions and took great care of us. When we told him were traveling to Ireland in May, he was happy to give us ideas, but when we said we’d be staying in Galway, he admitted he wasn’t that familiar with the area. That’s when he called over Jimmy (who is from Galway). Jimmy was aWealth of great information. We chose our house rental based on Jimmy’s suggestions.He didn’t say it, but we found out later that Jimmy owns the bar. If you’re in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, visit there - near 7th Ave and 23rd street. You’ll be glad you did.

    Exactly what you would expect from a family owned Irish bar, great service. Jake was working the bar and his dad was making sure everyone sitting in the lounge had a drink.Glad we decided to stop here for drinks after the comedy show.

Cocktails are $13 eachThe food tasted delicious and the burger offered a large amount of customizability (how the meat was cooked+cheese options). That being said, the food was a little on the pricier side ranging about $9-13 per side and $12-25 per main.

    A five star place, a five star staff, and five star food! Jake’s saloon is the most welcoming establishment where anybody and everybody can have a great time no matter what day of the week! I’d highly suggest catching a game, enjoying some delicious spring rolls, and spending time with the fabulous staff! One of my favorite aspects of Jake’s is the owner, he involves himself heavily in the well-being and enjoyment of his customers and makes sure to spend time getting to know his patrons and making sure they have a marvelous time at Jake’sCannot recommend enough!!!

    We lucked into finding Jakes after a long day visiting the sites, and walking back to the 1 train to head back up town. The menu is seemingly one of only a hand full we saw in NYC that was remotely affordable food wise. The service we had was very good. I enjoyed the Steak Sandwich, and while I asked for it to be cooked medium it was medium well. Thankfully it was a perfect cut, seasoned well and tasted great as described on the menu. My wife had the Pear Salad without Pistachios (our son is allergic), the salad was a good size and I got to have about 1/2 of it. It was perfectly dressed, and the pear played delightfully off the balsamic very well. My Son had the burger and fries and he called it his new happiness burger. High marks from him as he is a picky eater. The only complaint was the cost of our drinks. 4 pours of Makers Mark on the rocks was over $50, which is nuts when you can buy a .750 for $24 in Baltimore (maybe not in NYC). At least they were fair pours. Next time we will probably skip the drinks (this was a theme of our NYC trip, I dont know why I kept getting alcohol).In summary, Jakes is great, and had good music playing.

    Came here with a buddy for a drink. Nice bartenders and a relaxed vibe for an early Friday night. We had shots and they cost less than most other bars in the area, but average price for a sports bar. My buddy has been here before and I can see why they came back. I’ll suggest this bar to people looking for a decent causal place to go to with friends or a casual date to start the night.

    I dig it bro. I went for the wings and they delivered. Compliments to the chef, the kitchen was supposed to be just closing but they put them in anyway. Came out quick and delicious.     Lots of TVs for sports. Large bar and lots of booth. It was slow when we went and the service was quick. A little pricey but thats new york. Its walking g distance from Penn station. They didnt look like they served foor.

    Food here is kind of subpar but you dont really go to a bar for food. The wait staff here is great and you can see they try their best for customer satisfaction. I would recommend this place for a night out. The inside of this place also looks classy, nothing cheap.

    I’m a bit more about the people carving out the service and the miracles from behind the bar, but if it wasn’t about that impartial aspect? The service is great, accepting and welcoming. These folks managing and overseeing this spot are like the Shepards of excellence, but you’d never know unless you asked about it. Patrons who come here hold massive “hands” but again? No one shows their cards unless if you’d ask: humility.There’s a good wealth of information about the city too if you’re new to town and in search of a healthy spot of community, but be kind to yourself. Good people? Nice space for larger parties (12-20), and gentle lighting make this bar a go-to: come-back. Say hi to the Irish bartender, Brendan(?) and that Matthew joyful character to say hi and enjoy.

    Had a really nice steak dinner here prior to seeing a show next door at Gotham Comedy Club (we were in NYC for a weekend get-away.) Although the restaurant wasnt overly busy the night we went it was good to know they can take reservations and it made our evening go smooth and worry-free. Instead of a potato side dish I asked for a vegetable and got the most delicious roasted cauliflower (I dont recall it being an option on the menu but it should be, it was soooo good!) Will be sure to return to Jakes if were ever back in the area.

    Fantastic place. The food was delicious and the bar service from Brennen was out of this world. The place makes you feel like you are at a hometown bar with family.     Jakes was near our hotel on a recent short trip to New York. We only had drinks both of the times we visited, but sat next to someone enjoying the fish and chips (which looked fantastic). The bartender was funny and friendly and remembered our orders from the day before. I hate to not give the place 5 stars, but since we didnt eat, and our last visit was punctuated by other guests screaming violently about the women they came in with (and then trying to start a fight with us) we left soured on Jakes. Would give it another shot next time were in Chelsea.

    I enjoy going to pubs for a pint just to get out of house or meet friends or have a meeting... Jakes on 23rd & 7th Ave is the Best Place for all... I host business luncheons there b/c food is SOOO Delicious and the staff is great! Ownership is usually there (which is rare for an establishment like this)... Even Jake works behind the pine on busy nights! Cannot say enough great things about this place! It is clean, staff is awesome, conveniently located, food is fresh and offers great variety.. and after an evening of drinking... there is a Taco Bell across the street! :)

    This is my favorite place for lunch. They offer $10 lunch specials with a delicious assortment of menu options.     While on business in new York I stopped into jakes because it was close to the hotel. The place is rather full. It took about 10 minutes to get a bartenders attention.     Best bar experience for an out of towner like myself. From Canada and felt very welcome from first entering to leaving. Very modest prices during happy hour and staff are out of this world 10/10 helpful and friendly.     Just went in there to catch the end of the UNC Duke game. It was a nice place but UNC lost. Duke stinks. I cant give anywhere 5 stars when duke wins. #fook

    Had a wonderful experience at jakes saloon, tried the wild wheat which was awsome and had the bbq ribs which melted in my mouth!Above all else was the irish bartender brandon, he was fast, efficient and so god damn funny, an old school bartender with a great heart! Love Jakes Saloon and will visit again!
