What a great bar. Dive bar vibes but good beer selection, music and super fun and friendly staff! Difficult to find, but don’t miss it. This was the perfect spot to end our night. -
Review 2 (2024-12-02 - Rating: 5)
I really don’t want to give this place a good review…because i want nobody to know about it ever so it remains the wonderful amazing gem that it is. not only is the atmosphere fabulous and the staff so friendly and welcoming, but the beer selection is unmatched. truly a diamond in the rough. rock on. -
Review 3 (2024-03-25 - Rating: 5)
Cool, hidden spot. Great selection of beers and some good wines. They don’t serve hard liquor. The pictures of the rabbits everywhere is the best. Really lovely bar tender. Music is loud and different which I loved. -
Review 4 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Charlie and Amanda are amazing, thank you for making our night special! -
Review 5 (2024-06-21 - Rating: 4)
Great divey vibe in the middle of the village. Awesome music, although consistently a touch too loud for my middle age-adjacent ears. Probably the perfect volume for later in the evening when it gets crowded, though.Solid euro-import beer selection with an appropriate focus on Belgian beers (the best beers). Bonus points for the mannekin pis statues hidden throughout.Quickly becoming a go to for me in the neighborhood. -
Review 6 (2020-03-12 - Rating: 4)
Dope chill bar. It fills up quick do to its limited seats. It’s dark but your eyes will adjust to it. When we went, there was only one bartender, so it took a little longer to be attended but nothing crazy. Fun hidden bar with a nice selection of beers. -
Review 7 (2023-11-19 - Rating: 5)
Stumbled into this place after Comedy Club, such a vibe! Our bartender was extremely nice and hung up the art we made! 🍻 -
Review 8 (2023-02-23 - Rating: 5)
The place is a hidden gem. You have to really look closely for their gate, which is often closed and is hidden unnoticeable on the wall. The light was very dim, giving out a speak easy vibe. The heater made it very warm inside, so don’t worry that drinking too much beer would make you cold. They have a variety of German and Belgian beer that you usually won’t be able to find elsewhere. Before you leave, they let you finish with a German bitter. -
Review 9 (2024-03-04 - Rating: 5)
Quite literally stumbled on this bar years ago, and always felt at home in this underground bar nestled in such a busy part of the city. The craft beers available are well curated, and the atmosphere makes it easy to chat with people and the bartenders. Great date night spot to end the night. -
Review 10 (2024-09-24 - Rating: 5)
Probably my favourite place in NYC -
Review 11 (2024-12-06 - Rating: 5)
Great cross between a dive bar and a speakeasy. Wont find it unless you know its in the area. Subtle entrance and great vibe once youre in there. Bartender was friendly and knew the menu like the back of his hand. If you see this on Google maps, hit it up because without finding it online you might never know its there and thats half the fun of finding places like this. -
Review 12 (2019-11-06 - Rating: 5)
They have an amazing selection of beers and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about their selection. They work with your tastes if you don’t have a specific beer in mind. It is priced but the vibes are so cool. -
Review 13 (2024-06-03 - Rating: 4)
Came here for drinks before dinner and was surprised at how packed the space is. Dimly lit and irreverent all around, this is a space with character. Beer menu is impressive but limited options on draft. Service is friendly! -
Review 14 (2022-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Cool and dark underground speakeasy beer bar with some great tasting unique beers. Notmany beers on draft but large bottle selection. Had some good sours and NE style IPA. Cool vibe down here and wasn’t too busy, near some good restaurants. -
Review 15 (2023-03-02 - Rating: 4)
Very hidden spot in the busy MacDougal street, you will almost certainly miss it.Its below street level, once you are in, you ll find this cozy, dim light bar that service crafted beer with long list of choices you can select from.Bartender was friendly and service was good. Will recommend the owner to work on the music though, it was very loud club techno.Had a Belgium beer which was good. -
Review 16 (2023-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Such a cool place! Hidden gem on Mcdougal street! Simply go down to the basement at #124. The metal door is filled with stickers on it. Go ahead and open it! -
Review 17 (2024-09-24 - Rating: 5)
Such a fun bar! We came here after a show at The Comedy Cellar and the owner was very accommodating to our party of 8. Perfectly dark, great beer, hidden in plain sight!! 10/10 would go again! -
Review 18 (2024-04-18 - Rating: 5)
Divey beer spot with good music and an overall amazing vibe. Ideal bar to socialize. -
Review 19 (2024-12-14 - Rating: 5)

Review 20 (2023-10-17 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite bars. Lovely vibe, awesome bartenders, really really interesting beers. My favorite is the banana bread beer, which they always seem to have. -
Review 21 (2019-01-31 - Rating: 4)
A hidden place unless you know where to look, this bar has lots of great craft beer in bottles and cans. There is no draft unfortunately however the selection is impeccable. The lighting is a bit dim, but it adds to the atmosphere. When I came they had just opened, so not many people. Im sure during peak hours this place is happening. -
Review 22 (2024-01-09 - Rating: 4)
Diveyyyy Berlin bar vibes! A fun spot— get there before it gets crammed. It’s super tiny jn there. also, depends on who is dj-ing the music for the night. -
Review 23 (2024-11-16 - Rating: 4)
This place is awesome. Great beers and great tunes! -
Review 24 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 5)
Dimly lit bar with mostly beers and a couple of wine options. Music was great (I think it was 90s/00s rock), bartender was super nice and friendly. -
Review 25 (2019-04-23 - Rating: 5)
We loved the Old Rabbit Club! Dark and small, but a perfect escape. Dont worry, your eyes will adjust. Down a few steps off the street. Super friendly bartender. He knew a lot about the beers on the menu and introduced us to some new ones. Pricey but a fun experience. -
Review 26 (2016-12-20 - Rating: 5)
If you like your dives divey (and I do) then this is the place for you. Super chill bartenders, awesome selection, great ambiance. -
Review 27 (2015-12-01 - Rating: 4)
This claustrophobically small, cash only, grungy, beer bar has a fantastic list of mainly European beers. The bartender was very knowledgeable and recommended a wonderful quad that I had never tried before. He also provided my non-beer loving friend a grapefruit beer option that hit the mark for him as well. I would return to sample some of their other beers, however, I wouldnt come with more than one or two people, it is that small! -
Review 28 (2023-02-27 - Rating: 5)
Beer bar only. And for that, it’s perfect. Literally a perfect little divey beer bar that checks all the boxes. Dingy, dark vibe. Unique beer selection. Knowledge and busy bartenders. I love everything about it. -
Review 29 (2024-09-26 - Rating: 5)
I always have the best times in this place! The music is just fantastic! The service is 100% always. -
Review 30 (2018-03-18 - Rating: 5)
Great selection of European beers, and theyve recently added a solid IPA selection to their menu. Cozy confines with a nice, long bar. Definitely a beer nerd bar, but us regular folk can enjoy it too -
Review 31 (2019-10-31 - Rating: 4)
This place is so small and dark that can only feel warm and intimate, which is the best it has. They have a very good variety of beers mostly from europe, bottles only. No tap. They might improve the selection from UK and Germany. Beers are expensive, most of them above usd10...and you can easily find at usd12/13usd and beyond. The music was good if you like rock in its noisy version, otherwise it can be almost annoying. Nice place anyway. -
Review 32 (2017-09-28 - Rating: 5)
Was here in early September, had some amazing European (Belgian?) sour beers as Im on a sour kick right now. They only have bottled beers here but good and interesting ones I have never tried. Cool vibe, friendly bartender. Good spot. -
Review 33 (2024-08-14 - Rating: 5)
Tourist from austin. I was looking for a dive bar not far from the comedy cellar. Found the perfect spot. I think I was the first customer right at 4pm. I had a few sour beers while chatting with the cute bartender from San Antonio. -
Review 34 (2021-07-10 - Rating: 5)
Great spot for a quick stop. I wish they had liquor, though. A bourbon would go nice with the ambiance. -
Review 35 (2018-12-18 - Rating: 5)
Its definitely not for everyone, I can understand that. If you like dive-y kinds of places then it is for you. We sat in here one night and enjoyed lots and lots of good conversation with the bartenders and people we had just met. The dark kind of gives it a cozy feel -
Review 36 (2019-12-15 - Rating: 5)
Great and extensive selection of beers, particularly Belgian. Try triple karmeliet and omer ! The Barman is very knowledgeable and friendly and can provide advice. The entrance is somewhat hard to see at the bottom of a flight of stairs, making it feel like a hidden place for those in the know -
Review 37 (2015-12-01 - Rating: 4)
Cash only! Small, narrow, and dinly lit beer bar featuring wide variety of European beers (mainly Belgium, Germany, and Irish). Good spot to bring beer lover friends (or even non beer lovers, since they have some sweeter/fruitier options here that may cater to their likings). Ideal for smaller group of friends (2 to 4). -
Review 38 (2018-07-03 - Rating: 5)
Excellent beer selection. Rare American IPAs that change often. Also have rarer German and Belgian brews. Alchemist Heady Topper recommended. It will be dark inside, just let your eyes adjust and enjoy! -
Review 39 (2018-06-15 - Rating: 5)
This is my favorite bar in New York, hands down. I dont make it as much as I like, but every time I do its like coming home. Dont ever change, Rabbit Club! That being said, if you hate music or need an airy place with sangria or chic decor, this isnt your spot. But please do stop in and give them your money regardless. -
Review 40 (2012-01-08 - Rating: 5)
124 Rabbit Club is the definition of a hole in the wall. It is a New York City must! Good European Beer selection, with a great staff to back it up.The Rabbit club is all about European Beer. They serve few if any US beers, no hard alcohol and a hand full of wines. Its a great place to take a first timer or become a regular. The rabbit club has a great atmosphere but it is very dark. -
Review 41 (2023-10-07 - Rating: 5)
Dark, intimate, good brews. Underground, underrated, thirst quenching -
Review 42 (2013-10-15 - Rating: 4)
Review 900, and still going strong! What better way than to celebrate with a review of an incredibly solid beer spot. 124 Old Rabbit Club. When I first heard of you, I did not know what to expect. Looking at photos, you seemed intimate, but at the same time, kind of grungy. Nonetheless, down the rabbit hole I go.When youre walking down MacDougal, it is incredibly easy to walk right past this bar. There really isnt a sign aside from the 124 and a stencil of a rabbit on the wall. Make your way down the stairs, and through the door that doesnt really close all the way, and youre transformed into a nice beer have in Greenwich Village. right off the bat, youll probably realize very quickly that although 124 Old Rabbit Club has a plethora of beer, there is nothing on draft. This is pretty much due to the fact that they can keep a huge selection and rotate beers as things come along. If youre coming here looking to consume hard alcohol, then go somewhere else. This place is strictly beer only. The staff here is incredibly nice, and will help you figure out what to order based on your taste preference. With so many obscure beers here, I always ask so that I can order something different. As far as the bar itself, it is pretty narrow. There are bar stools spread along the bar, as well as a couple booths for larger parties to sit down. Lighting is pretty minimal, as youre pretty much using the candles as your primary source. To read the menu, I had to pull out my iPhone and utilize that trusty flash feature.124 Old Rabbit Club is straight up no frills. You come here, without having to dress to impress, and you know exactly what youre going to get. They have a great beer selection, laid back atmosphere, and a great staff. Prices here for their beers arent on the cheaper side, and this place is Cash Only, so prepare beforehand. After that, make your way down the rabbit hole and enjoy the ride. -

Review 45 (2018-10-27 - Rating: 4)
Very snug, very dark speakeasy-type beer bar near NYU. Nice beer list although not as extensive as some suggest. All from cans or bottles AFAIK - no draft -

Sometime too crowdy but a lovely place to enjoy a good beer! Dont go there if more than 2 friends. The best place when you are by yourself and need a drink! The music there will help you!!! -
Review 49 (2016-09-19 - Rating: 5)
This place was great, small space no bullshit with great beer....my kinda place. The bartender knew his stuff which is always nice, had a couple of hard to find sours....really hit the spot. -
Review 50 (2016-01-13 - Rating: 4)
Nothing on tap. BUT WAIT. This dictionary definition dive has an excellent bottle selection and personable staff. Cash only, so keep that in mind. Its a little hard to spot, but that only really adds to the charm. -
Review 51 (2022-10-17 - Rating: 5)
Cant go wrong here for a drink before dinner or a late night talk. Never-ending beer selection and low-lit environment that keeps people off their phones. -

Review 56 (2022-11-23 - Rating: 5)
Was a bit hard to find because the graffiti of the white rabbit was covered when we visited, but worth the effort going crazy with Maps trying to find the entrance! Extremely cool place, tiny, good music, super super dark and bartender was lovely, chatty and recommended beer to us. Such a unique place, loved it! -
Review 57 (2019-05-05 - Rating: 5)
Darkest bar in the world, great selection of beer. Good dart board area in back of bar. No sunglasses needed in this bar, old NYC. -

Review 64 (2021-07-16 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite spots in Manhattan - a recommendation I always make to visitors, or take them there if we find ourselves in the neighborhood. -
Review 66 (2019-06-09 - Rating: 4)
Nice hipster hole in the wall bar. The bartender when I was there wasnt the best but there were plenty of beers to choose from -
Review 67 (2024-05-28 - Rating: 4)
So heres what this place is: you go in here if you want to find an uncommon beer. Decor is very trashy, which I like. Its expensive. A dive bar in every respect except for beer choice. No tvs. Kegs stored in the bathroom. -
Review 68 (2021-08-25 - Rating: 5)
Lol google tagged it as “lounge”Not sure where that comes from — as I only see a hole/tube/bomb shelter.Very dive-y, excellent selection of Belgian style beers. Is chill, has rabbits on walls, will drink again! -

All kinds of beers. a hidden gem this place! -
Review 70 (2024-04-29 - Rating: 4)
A true hole in the wall. Tight, dim lit space. Lots of craft beers to choose from. Great service. Entrance is a little tricky as it does not look like an entrance at all. -

Review 81 (2018-06-18 - Rating: 5)
Fantastic, expansive beer selection and great service - this is a beer-lovers paradise, especially if you are looking for something harder to find. I got a Duchesse De Bourgogne (a great suggestion by the bartender after finding out they were out of what Id originally wanted), and my girlfriend got a lambic, and they were perfect for us and for that night! While it might be a little hard to find, this place is worth a visit and Id recommend it to anyone, especially if you want to try something new! -

Review 91 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 5)
Semi-hidden basement bar with an interesting vibe. The lights are excessively dark and the music a bit too loud even when empty, but its fun and enjoyable. The bartender was chill, and they have a nice selection of quality import beers. Id return if I find myself in the area again. -

Good beer, barely lit, excellent -
Review 96 (2023-07-17 - Rating: 5)
A hidden gem. We missed it at first. It’s downstairs with a black door to the left of the obvious 124 street address. Bartenders were both super helpful and given my pickiness pointed me in the right direction with my beer choices. They were very knowledgeable about everything they carry. Lots of esoteric stuff you won’t see anywhere else. You won’t be getting anything standard here (no miller bud or coors). We had a lovely time. -
Review 97 (2023-11-07 - Rating: 5)
Its definitely a comfortable place to escape from parties and other crazy bars -

Review 102 (2023-06-15 - Rating: 5)
Not so cheap (like anyplace in New York) but a real hidden gem in an area usually overrun by university students: a not-so-loud and dark place to enjoy some quality beers. -
Review 103 (2023-01-19 - Rating: 5)
There are a lot of bars in Greenwich Village, but if youre not looking for this one, you might miss it. On a Sunday night, while lines stretched down the block for some other venues in the area, I ducked down through a non-descript door into this little basement bar instead, at the time only about half full. With a dark, speakeasy vibe, and a great selection of beer (most of the Belgian standards, plus an array of other local crafts), and a friendly and knowledgeable staff, I absolutely loved this place. -

Review 114 (2019-01-27 - Rating: 5)
Phenomenal watering hole. Awesome setting (...probably by necessity rather than choice, but it adds to the flavor), it is DARK, which is quite fun (as long as people keep their phone lights off), incredible selection! Foreign and domestic. Had Heady Topper for the first time. Perhaps not the end all be all, but its an important experience. Great folks behind bar as well. They get it and care. Totally pleased. -

Great little hidden gem surrounded by NYU bars. This place is well hidden enough, my only concern is that the bar tenders dont get enough tips. Wonderful beer menu, and lots of sours to choose from. -

Dimly lit. Intimate. Casual. Cool staff. Hidden in plain site on a happening night. I dig it. -

Cool dark beer bar. Heavy on the flavor and atmosphere. If you want wine or piss beer, apply yourself elsewhere. But if you like good beer, your coolness factor goes up like 10% just by taking a seat at the bar. -

This bar is so, so nyc. If you have friends in town, take them here-- theyll love it. The bustling college kids on the street, the secretive buzzer to get in, the long underground corridor bar, and the wide selection of eclectic brews. It really does feel like a secret society hang out. The location is another plus-- its right by all sorts of food and dance clubs when you finish your drinks and hidden whispers. Bring some chalk to write your own message on the walls. -

Review 133 (2018-08-04 - Rating: 5)
One of the most inexpensive places to get some amazing exquisite beers. I have been to this place like 4 times and the beer menu always keeps changing. The Bartender is sweet and helpful with selection of beers. The place is very close to nyu and many more places to visit. Please check for timing before heading there as they are not open before 6pm. -
