It is two blocks from the Empire State Building, 5th & Mad is a vibrant place to hang out and unwind.Newly renovated downstairs dining area looks stylish and inviting, they really did a good job with this latest make over getting rid of those dark not ventilated “private” rooms and updating with a spacious open dining area!Drinks: we had a variety of Happy Hour drinks – no complaintsFood: We chose a few classic bar food to share such as sweet potatoes, French fries, sliders and bacon mac and cheese.     Came for an HBCU event my friend invited me to, and it was nice; the music was good. It was a brunch, and I had the egg Benedict, which was ok. My friends had the chicken sandwich, which they said was good. The kitchen wasnt open after the event and the restaurant itself doesnt play music so I went somewhere else. Service was good. Decor is nice.

    Came here to watch Thursday night football (1st game of the season). The bartenders were very nice and quick with our orders. Great bar food menu and everything we got was delicious! There are TVs everywhere and multiple large projector screens. Amazing place to watch sports and I’m excited to come back for football Sundays!

    Was great! Went for a pre dinner drink with my best friend. Empty ish for an early Friday night. Only had one bartender working (so it looked) he was GREAT!!! Just busy with the bar etc. As we were leaving tho (around 6:45) more staff was arriving so it looked like it would be 10/10 in terms of being able to flag people down if needed!

    Went there for a sorority formal and it was great! The only problem was that there were some people in the bar who were there prior to the start of our formal, so they were allowed to stay in the area we were in. They were a little strange and they definitely threw off the vibe. Wish they had asked them to move out of the private part of the location, but they refused to do so.Other than that, the location was great!

    Great happy hour for large groups in midtown. Food was just alright, but thats not why you should come here. Decent happy special, 2 bucks off standard beers such as blue moon, corona, and they even had allagash when I last went. I think the biggest thing that this place has going for it is its overall space, 2 floors of open tables and bars is a big pro when youre looking for a decently priced happy hour in this sea of midtown dive bars.

    Good centrally located bar to meetup with friends or colleagues after work hours. Their Happy Hour discounts the beers by $2 so you are saving quite a bit of money during this time! The Buffalo Wings I had were okay but I would probably try something else next time around. Good spot & I recommend ⭐

    The view is simply beautiful on the rooftop. However, when we went there for happy hour, the waiter would take a while to bring our drinks. Once we got our drinks and finished them, when we asked to get more drinks (at happy hour price) they said that happy hour was over ;(( so we had to pay full price for the drinks. But the prices on happy hour drinks are nice and reasonable. I got the frose, which is a drink of slushy consistency, and had vodka + rose. Twas delicious and refreshing on this summer day.

    Great happy hour or group gathering spot in midtown. Ample space on the 2 floors. Large bars on both floors that serve up a variety of drinks and beers. The upstairs can definitely be for groups and private events. Wonderful bartender service and the burgers were the highlight. Large moist and juicy. Even came with a onion ring in it. Not too crowded and not too noisy so a great spot to catch up with others. Nice atmosphere and swanky couches and tables. Ill be back.
