    Had a wonderful lunch here for restaurant week. Great menu to choose from and carefully crafted cocktails. I love the bread and humus they serve is superb. The salmon tartare and lobster ravioli were great. Food is fresh, delicious and truly amazing! Service is 10/10 especially bartender Snezana is so sweet, nice and professional. I’ve come here many times and will continue to come with friends and family for great memories. Highly recommend. Truly a gem in NYC!

    This restaurant is really good. It is slightly more expensive than other places, but it has a really nice ambience atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place for a date. Really nice Greek food, and the Seabass is excellent. The ravioli is also delicious but very filling. The steak was good and so was the salmon. the its hard when its like that, but it was really nice to see you feel like it might be calamari was delicious and the service was also great. Will return!

    Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff. Great food. Table had 3 spread dish and cheese dish as appetizers. Bass and salmon main course. Cheese cake is so light. A bit pricey. Two can easily spend $100 + Will go back when in area again.

    The cutest lunch spot right in the smack of midtown. I had a glass of wine with Octopus and baklava which was divine. Took a little while to serve me and no they werent packed, but the service turned out very well. I would definitely go back for dinner.

    I was craving for Mediterranean/Greek food for a long time. Finally got a chance to taste such wonderful dishes, I am more than excited to come back again! It was during the Summer Restaurant Week, so the house was very busy and active. And yet, the service was consistently good (very slightly pushy due to the limit of the time and tables). I would not mind to go back regardless.

    Let me start by saying that this is one of the best Greek resturants in nyc by far. The staff are amazing, the food delicious, and the services is phenomenal. I would highly recommend this place to many people. I come here atleast 1 to 3 times a month. The best part about it, the food isnt that expensive. Youre literally getting high-end tasted food for a steal(Ive been in very high-end places that werent worth the price).

    Satisfying experience in all aspects!When Im by myself, I pay more attention to how Im perceived. I was happy to be greeted warmly, and that I was given the choice between a table of two and a table of four. It helped that I went for a late lunch, when it was not too busy, but still, to offer a table of four made me feel so comfortable, which is more important to me than the food itself!Luckily, the food tasted so delicious, from the complimentary hummus, to the five different dips (sold in threes), the grilled shrimp from the appetizers menu, the baklava, and the latte.I liked - too - that my server called me Lady. She was respectful in a new way, and she was very attentive. In addition, I was appreciative that she didnt judge me on ordering too much. She took the order as openly as all servers should be. If I could, I would give Anassa Taverna six stars!

    Beautiful restaurant with a very nice dining atmosphere~ Interior Decor has a nice mediterranean flare. The bread that they served for each table as a starter tasted freshly baked, nice crust n soft. Love, love the Anassa Chips which was lightly fried thin sliced zucchini n eggplant served with refreshing tzatziki. I had the Cobb salad which consisted of fresh vegetable n a creamy dressing. Definitely worth a try!

    My team visited Anassa for a workweek lunch and overall it was a good experience. However, this spot can’t be a goto lunch spot given the menu’s price point and I likely wouldn’t make a dedicated trip just to dine here given it’s in a work area. But I will definitely be back!

    Excellent Greek fare. If youre eating here, you probably want to order fish, as this is one of the best restaurants in New York to enjoy it. Highly recommend the Loup De Mar if you like Sea Bass. Its always fresh and drizzled with a rich extra virgin olive oil. Crispy skin with a very flavorful juicy body. The Snapper is also a wonderful choice. Desserts are worth trying as well, with the chocolate lava cake being one of the best Ive ever had and sorbet also being a favorite.

    I went to Anassa for brunch. Not sure what’s the appeal though. At least in terms of brunch options, doesn’t seem to be worth the price (did they create a brunch menu to exploit low cost food items?)… Beware of $17 drinks and $14 mimosas.I ended up trying a very greek dish, the lamb shish kebab with pita and fries. Everything comes at a small sized portion, therefore only two skewers of meat, minimal quantity of small pita bread cut in triangles, and maybe 7 or 8 french fries. Other dishes ordered was the Greek pasta which is tasty and blueberry pancakes. The pancakes (2) are well made though comes with a very small sized syrup cup, and we suspected they used some whole grain wheat for the pancakes.Honestly, the best food I had here and totally surprised me in a good way was the house bread served with a seasoned hummus. The bread tasted fresh, like made on the same day and don’t think I tried hummus this interesting before. Ambient of the place is nice, pleasant and has an upscale vibe. Service is a bit naive (didn’t know if the syrup served was maple or corn based) but handy and proper.

    Best Greek restaurant in Manhattan in the lower price range . I wish this restaurant would exist in Long Island .Delicious food .As a starter we shared saganaki.     This is my favorite Greek restaurant in the city so far. Crowd favorite was the fava bean dip, grilled calamari for appetizers. If you are a mezcal fan then the Frida cocktail is for you, I absolutely love it- although it used to come with Tajín in the glass which was better and now it doesn’t. The lamb chops are delicious.

    Yesterday, I hosted my sisters bridal shower in the upstairs section of Anassa Taverna! I had seamless communication with Olga throughout the planning process, and then I was partnered with Klaudia who helped the day of! The space looked amazing, the service was incredible and the food was delicious as always. Truly was a great experience and our guests loved every detail too!     Authentic upscale Greek cuisine with terrific cocktails and wine list. The salmon tartare appetizer is a perfect version of this classic, though not cheap at $28. Greek salad, large enough for 2-3, is fresh and deliciously dressed. Spanakopita too was yummy. The Avgolemono soup needed a squirt of lemon. Shrimp cocktail sported the largest peeled shrimp Ive ever seen. Try the Greek wines; my white was exquisite. And leave room for dessert - we didnt, so will have to return!

    I visited Anassa Taverna in Astoria twice and each time, I felt like a “unique women with goddess-like qualities”☺️ (Anassa)The staff is so friendly and caring. Thanks Dimitris🙏🏾. They are very professional and do not hesitate to go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The food is excellent. The vibe is enchanting and if you don’t drink alcohol, do not worry, they can make you cocktails out-of-this-world.     My wife and I hosted our rehearsal dinner in the upstairs private room in September 2022 and cannot recommend Anassa enough for any private event! Olga, Crista, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our rehearsal dinner extremely special and a highlight of our wedding weekend.From the planning stage, we could tell that Anassa is well-run, organized, and flexible. We were able to easily work with Olga to customize our menu, design a layout of the room, and select from multiple linen options. Anassa has an in-house graphic designer who printed out customized menus and name cards for us, even for guests whose names we only provided hours before our event. Anassa provided everything they promised and then some.In addition to the top-notch staff and customer service, all of the food and drinks were phenomenal. Again, we cannot recommend Anassa enough and will definitely be looking for a reason to host another event here!

    Love this place, perfect for a business lunch or take your family there before heading to Bloomingdale’s for day of shopping. Menu is not very big but there is something for everyone.Service and ambiance are nice , food is delicious. Lobster ravioli is incredible, I usually never order raviolis at the restaurant because most just use frozen store bought raviolis which I can make at home for a fraction. But Anassa’s raviolis were heavenly, light yet very filling. I’d also recommend their grilled halloumi cheese, rich in flavor with nice soft chewiness to it. Perfect on a salad or with slice of bread.

    Edit on my previous 5* review, been coming every few weeks for a bit. Today…We noticed a staggering price increase, $15 for 3 shrimp (PAST FEW TIMES HAS BEEN 4 see photo below!!!) on top of my $20 salad that is slightly skimpy to begin with. Chicken was $10. For 2 salads & nothing else with tip was $80!!!!!!!! That is wild even for NYC..I don’t normally feel ripped off but today, I do.AMAZING! Delicious, great service, fresh= LOVED!

    Had a bit of time to kill before dinner reservations. Sat at the Bar and the bartender was very nice and provided great service. They provided a hummus dip w/bread as we ordered the Grilled Shrimp along with a glass of Reisling and a cocktail that I dont recall the name. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and left us wanting more but couldnt be greedy with other reservations. Id like to try other items on their menu with how delicious the shrimp were.

All recognizable Mediterranean / Greek dishes but pulled off with expertise and an updated flair. Thick and flavorful spinach pie and a the best moussaka Ive ever had. It wasnt as rich as most moussaka and it had a great deal of vegetables with a perfect bite. Some of the dishes flying around that we didnt order looked so good that we will go out of our way to return the next time were in the city. A little pricier so just check the menu before you walk in. Well worth it in my opinion.

    What an experience...as a UK chef I can honestly say the food was out of this world.I have sardines to start which had plenty of flavour followed by the seafood risotto and broccoli Abe. Service was good even though it was busy and attentive.Ignore the high price comments .... Its definitely worth the dollar

    A nice Greek restaurant. Its big so there are several different areas to be more cozy or to be in a group. The food is good but not spectacular. I would recommend the salmon or fish specials. The bar is also nice to sit down and have a drink even alone. Servers are sweet and attentive. During the summer it has a nice area near an open window.

    If you like Greek food or want to try something new, this is the place. The food was great. The service and hospitality was amazing. Pricey but very well worth it. Took advantage of restaurant week, but will definitely return another time.

    Very nice greek food spot.... definitely can take a date as well as just seat at the large very well equip bar. The food was delicious everything we order 6 different plates from meatballs to octopus it was fingers leaking good.

    My husband and I had dinner, ordered fish for 2 and 2 starters, the fish was really tasty, the salad was perfect and the spreads were delicious except for one that was too much feta! The dish of rice that comes with the fish is really not tasty, we asked to replace the potatoes with the lemon and it was delicious, excellent service, the place is not really clean and it is very disturbing, hope next time it will be cleaner!

    I give this restaurant a 4.5. They served the best greek salad i’ve had in my life. The vegetables are so fresh- I typically dislike tomatoes and cucumbers but they were served perfectly in the salad. The hummus was also amazing, and the zucchini chips looked great. The restaurant itself was cute and had nice decor. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a cute and tasty/fresh meal.

Sounds good, eh, yes except for the off the chart decibel level... We asked to be reseated to a quieter spot, but even with leaning in across our small table for 2, hard to have a serious convo. Special menu for the night, our prix fixe dinner $45 and $78 for a lovely wine, good repeat worthy spot, just ask for the quietist table and enjoy .

    Wow really loved this place. We got an amazing table for 2 street side and got to enjoy our delicious Greek cuisine to the sound of honking horns and traffic lol but hey it’s New York. Had to order the taramasalata of course and it did not disappoint, they even served with capers and perfectly toasted pita bread. We shared the Mediterranean salad and the special fish of the day. Everything was great. Service was excellent and everyone was really friendly ( we Floridians like that). Great lunch spot if you want great food and don’t have a lot of time.

    Greek Food at Bloomies!A bit expensive for what it is but i knew that going in. You do get a free good sized serving of hummus though. The broccoli rabe had a great addition of feta cheese. The octopus comes presliced so not to offend the squemish! Gorgeous restaurant as well!

    Understand that this is in midtown Manhattan right across the street from Bloomingdales, it’s expensive but the food is great and we continue going back. Best grilled octopus in the are and the Greek salad is real and fresh. Service is not great as the servers are a bit pretentious but again, know your area.Get the grilled octopus and greek salad and some entrees and you will be happy.Sorbet is also a great way to end the meal and the best value on the menu for excellent quality.

    If I could rate this restaurant ten stars, I would. We had our annual school auction at this restaurant and rented out the restaurant and the event coordinator Olga and the manager Stefano were so accommodating. They were both an absolute pleasure to work with . They both made the event absolutely seamless from beginning to end .The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and their specialty cocktails were a big hit! The venue brought back memories of eating at Mykonos at a fun, trendy, restaurant ( without having to leave the upper east side ).The event was a huge success thanks to Olga, Stefano, and their entire team! I highly recommend this venue for private parties, group dinners, and date nights.Given the number of restaurants to choose from in Manhattan , its difficult to find one that exceeds expectations in all categories. Anassa Taverna is one of the few that I would recommend!Thank you so much for making our event so memorable 🤩!
