This place is amazing, its a cozy area and has a wonderful staff. They treated us so well and made our day more special. The food was delicious, and also the drinks! My favorite food was the warm chocolate cake.Definitely a nice place to hang out with friends or have a first date.

Aria wine bar in NYC is a must-visit! Our server, Alyssa, was fantastic - attentive, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The wine list is extensive, and we enjoyed several varieties thanks to Alyssas expert guidance. The bread, freshly baked and perfectly crispy on the outside, was served with a side of high-quality olive oil for dipping - a simple yet delicious combination.Overall, Aria wine bar is a gem in the heart of NYC. Great wine, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. Dont miss it!

Made a reservation, but they were overbooked so we still had to wait. The food was amazing, but the service was slow and poor quality. I recommend all the food including the pasta, tomato and mozzarella, and calamari. Unfortunately they do not have espresso for post dinner.

  • Review 4 (2018-05-31 - Rating: 4)

Great pasta spot, but very crowded and the servers are definitely overworked and hence a bit rude. The actual food is delicious, we had the eggplant, the crab cakes, the mushroom fettuccine and the shrimp rigatoni - the portions are generous and the flavor is on point. I wish it was a bit less loud and crowded! But would highly recommend for the food.

Love this place. Our favourite find in NYC. Great food and host. Coolest surroundings and vibe.

  • Review 6 (2022-03-08 - Rating: 4)

I love this little Italian gem. The food is great; I would always recommend their daily specials (see pics(i got the black truffle gnocchi, and my friend got their pasta vongole in rosso*chef kiss*)). The wine is at a decent price w/ great everyday selections. There was a small incident during this particular visit, but I wont blow up their spot due to it was out of their control. However, it wouldve been nice for the waiter to show more empathy than just say ohhh (comp wine, discount on bills, even apologizing to us wouldve been nice). Again, I understand the issue (I still wont say) was out of your control, but if youre in customer service, then be more hospitable.I frequent here and never really had an issue, so I will go back still (for now). However, I wont be so nice about it if I encounter any negative experience.

Great restaurant for any occasion. Had been to the 51st St. location before for dinner over Italian tapas and had a great experience too. But the West Village location provides the same excellence in the food and service with the magic of being in the West Village. Brunch was great, with a good mix of white omelette, gnocchi, tuna tartare, and refreshing spritzer based on Campari and Proseco. We got there around 1 pm for brunch, witbout reservation, and did not wait at all. Were able to accommodate a stroller and enjoy a great service until we felt satisfied. Fresh in-house - made bread is delicious too.At the 51st street we did have to make reservation and felt much more crowded. Will be coming back multiple times!

  • Review 8 (2024-12-24 - Rating: 5)

Great wine selection and servers were very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. Food was excellent too!

  • Review 9 (2021-06-03 - Rating: 4)

I loved this place for many years. I went there 3 days ago for the first time after the pandemic . They changed location and I feel that the quality of food is being affected of that. Which just some adjustments will be great as before, don’t let this beautiful place die

  • Review 10 (2018-08-11 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful place to eat. Its a sister restaurant to Terra, which we stumbled upon the day after we had dinner at Aria and had no idea they were related until we ate there. Excellent food, elegant and very respectful staff, very nice menu and food options. Not a cheap place, but its worth the money you spend. Ambiance is quite dark for dinner, which kind of contributes to the experience. Very cool place indeed, recommended.

  • Review 11 (2024-07-10 - Rating: 5)

I’ve gone here quite a bit with my friends and it hits every time. Get the truffle gnocchi

  • Review 12 (2024-08-18 - Rating: 4)

That was definitely not heirloom tomatoes in that salad.

  • Review 13 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 5)

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly service and great authentic Italian wine and food. Super recommended!

  • Review 14 (2024-08-17 - Rating: 5)

A wonderful culinary experience. Delicious food, warm welcome and Angel is so nice and ready to answer your expectations. I recommend 😋

  • Review 15 (2024-12-30 - Rating: 5)

The food was amazing and the service as well. Reasonably priced.

  • Review 16 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 5)

Delicious food. Friendly and professional service.

  • Review 17 (2018-09-03 - Rating: 4)

Good food, service not so much. The waiter was rushing us to order fast and kept leaving the table while we were still tryingnto order stuff. Book a table and be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes after the timenof your booking.

  • Review 18 (2023-12-14 - Rating: 4)

Nice place good for a group not too crazy, reasonable price and good food

  • Review 19 (2023-06-25 - Rating: 5)

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend their vermentino wine, truffle gnocchi and the rigatoni pasta, though all the menu options are pretty good. The wait staff are all very friendly and efficient. Being one of the popular dinner spots it can get very busy and loud at times. Advance reservation is recommended.

  • Review 20 (2023-12-09 - Rating: 5)

Searched RESY for a tapas restaurant and was plenary surprised when an Italian restaurant showed up. We did not have reservations and went at 5 on a Friday. We were seated with no issue, at this point it was basically empty. Within half an hour there wasn’t a seat in the place. We had the grilled octopus salad as well as the goat cheese and mango salad to start. Both were outstanding. For main courses we had the lobster risotto and the lamb shank. The lobster was cut into pieces like little prizes throughout the risotto. The bone on lamb shank over risotto was so tender it fell off the bone.We will absolutely be back, we loved this meal!

  • Review 21 (2023-12-27 - Rating: 5)

The staff is great. Their octopus dish is the best Ive had in many restaurants. The wine list is fairly priced and delicious. Try the Italian Primitivo (the original zinfandel).

  • Review 22 (2023-09-01 - Rating: 5)

This place was fantastic! The service was exceptional and they walked us through the menu, the specials in detail, didn’t rush us to order and let us take our time. The burrata, Caesar salad, pesto pasta, mushroom truffle pasta were heavenly . Also wnjoyed the Chianti they had to offer, prices were also amazing, about &60 a person for a table of 4 - including tax tip 3 drinks a person , an appetizer per couple and 4 entrees…HUGE!Thank you!

  • Review 23 (2019-10-09 - Rating: 4)

Cosy place for a good pasta and and a glass of wine (or two). Cosy atmosphere and nice staff. Rather high noise level however. We sat “in the window” which was an excellent choice.

  • Review 24 (2022-08-08 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely love this place. If you can’t find a table, try their sister restaurant around the corner. Such a cozy vibe instead with great specials. We started off with the goat cheese and tomato sauce and the meatballs. Both were killer and I’d order them again. For starters, we had the risotto of the day which was mushroom and Parmesan risotto, and the penne pasta. Overall fantastic meal with quick service.

  • Review 25 (2024-08-08 - Rating: 5)

Had an amazing time here. The service, the food, the people. Love it all. We celebrated an engagement party and everyone loved their time here. Get the risotto lamb dish if it’s available. It is cooked to perfection. Fell off the bone. I give this place 5 stars!

  • Review 26 (2024-03-22 - Rating: 5)

The food was good. But the service was better. Ask for Vinera, she’s the best, so courteous.

  • Review 27 (2023-04-21 - Rating: 5)

Staple place for a catch up with good wine and light, flavorful bites. Love their salads, truffle Mac, and lamb chops. There are a few of them around the city, you can’t go wrong. Tight seating, but it’s casually chic.

  • Review 28 (2023-02-14 - Rating: 5)

We were 3 of us visiting from CA, our local friend took us here. We had a GREAT time. Our server Angel ( Angelito) did a great job. Always accommodating our requests. Food delicious. We had great Italian wine from Toscana region.

  • Review 29 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)

Amazing quite little place to get good food and great cocktails. The service and staff is what sets this place apart. Highly recommend for gathering with friends or popping in for a drink at their bar.

  • Review 30 (2022-03-19 - Rating: 5)

We stopped here for lunch. I ordered one of the specials, the grilled octopus salad. The octopus had been sliced into bite sized pieces and arranged in a beautiful presentation over a bed of salad made with celery, thin sliced potatoes, tomatoes and more. The octopus was tender and cooked perfectly. My partner ordered lobster ravioli with vodka sauce. They kept the sauce simple so that the tortelloni could speak for themselves. • Review 31 (2023-01-19 - Rating: 4)

Everything was very tasty. I walked in with a friend on a Saturday night and they fit us in at the bar. The vibes would be great for date night! We had the lobster ravioli, artichoke pesto penne, burrata and proscuitto, kale salad, and rapini. Also a great cheesecake for dessert.

  • Review 32 (2023-06-29 - Rating: 5)

Great ambiance and food. Incredibly friendly staff; look for Venera -she’s attentive and kind. Aplausos to the Latinos in the kitchen. The tiramisu was delicious. I would just say that I really missed Codino’s crostini -pork & octopus.

  • Review 33 (2022-11-06 - Rating: 5)

We hosted lunch at Aria after my mother-in-laws memorial service. The folks at Aria made it easy for us to pull together a really wonderful meal for a large group on short notice. They were flexible and helpful at every step, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful.

  • Review 34 (2023-05-05 - Rating: 5)

I love this place! Food is very tasty, price is good, service is great and a lovey atmosphere! 💯 recommended!

  • Review 35 (2017-04-04 - Rating: 5)

Aria is one of my go-to spots in the city. There is another location in the theater district and every time I go, I have a great experience. There is a great wine selection, and glasses are inexpensive (think $7-$10). The ambiance is that of many places in NYC - crowded, a little loud, and somewhat tight. A great date night spot for some great eats, without breaking the bank.Get the grilled octopus appetizer, served with pesto, potatoes, and white bean salad. Its not on the menu, but has been a special every night that Ive dined there. The lobster ravioli is a small portion, but its SO good. Get it with one other person to split as an appetizer. The service is great, the bread served with olive oil is addicting, and you will definitely come back. There are few truly good, consistent, cheap places in NYC, and Aria is definitely one of them.

  • Review 36 (2019-10-07 - Rating: 4)

Service was ok, felt a bit rushed. Great food though!

  • Review 37 (2024-02-17 - Rating: 5)

I loved the cozy vibe of this spot! We came here around 10:30pm on a Friday night and were able to get a table right away without a reservation. Most of the people there were on dates or girls having girls night. I tried the chocolate soufflé and it was amazing! Highly recommend this place for date nights!

  • Review 38 (2018-08-05 - Rating: 5)

Perfect Italian food in adorable place. We had some specials, the prosciutto burrata and risotto with fish. Really tasty! Pasta bolognese was perfect! Nice waiter who advised us perfectly! We came in at 9.30 on a Saturday without reservation and didnt have to wait! Would go here every time I visit NYC!

  • Review 39 (2017-01-12 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite places to eat in the city. If you come at peak time you will have to wait, but it is worth it. You will be squeezed in next to someone you know or maybe you dont, but this feels like real New York to me. It is basically Italian tapas with some bigger main plates. I love to mix and share, but my favorites are the meatballs, so tasty and they melt in your mouth, and I love the truffle Mac and cheese. This was my favorite Mac and cheese ever, but they changed it slightly and I found one elsewhere a bit better, but it is always super tasty and not overly runny creamy like many can be. Other notable items are the oysters, burrata, steak and eggplants with goat cheese. The wine is all delicious too. I take all out of town visitors here and they have always loved it!

  • Review 40 (2017-10-29 - Rating: 5)

I completely loved this epicurean adventure! Our waiter, Al, was super... efficient, friendly, and fun! We totally enjoyed the tastes, textures, aromas, presentation, creativity, atmosphere, ...pure delight! Thank you for a grand evening in “The City That Never Sleeps!” Kudos to the chef and staff!

  • Review 41 (2021-08-23 - Rating: 5)

My god! The service from the French server is not comparable. The food was out of this world. Took advantage of the henri storm to come here. Sat at bar and had probably some of the best service. The gnocchi truffle dish by far the best dish I’ve had. Simplemente the best.

  • Review 42 (2017-01-27 - Rating: 5)

Aria is really one of my favorite places, its such a hidden gem. They have Italian-style tapas, and you really cannot go wrong ordering. Every dish Ive ever tried has been delicious. A lot of the waiters here are Italian, and I love that the menu is your place-mat, the waiter writes down the specials straight on your menu. No frills, but FANTASTIC food, and a great date spot!

  • Review 43 (2015-10-08 - Rating: 5)

Tasty food, (big) tapas format, so you can order several things on the menu to share (which is good because you basically want to try everything!). The place is beautiful, you can have a romantic dinner (the room is quite dark) but there are also quite big tables to host a group of friends. The service is included in the check.I recommend it!

  • Review 44 (2018-05-15 - Rating: 5)

Adorable set up and decor with absolutely excellent service. Had a slight slight mix up with our order and the waitress was kind enough to bring us out another glass of wine! Loved sitting in a window booth and people watching.

  • Review 45 (2022-06-16 - Rating: 5)

Great spot for a cute date or small group. we didn’t get any main dishes, but I was pleasantly surprised with their wine and charcuterie board! we got a carafe to share between two people and it was a great portion size. loved the vibe inside too!

  • Review 46 (2019-01-07 - Rating: 5)

Aria is such a great place for an intimate dinner. We came from out of town and left very impressed. The place is small and cozy, perfect for date night. Well priced, so many great tasty food options and wine options. The mushroom bruschetta was to die for and I had the best tiramisu of my life. Our waiter was awesome, and we will definitely be back next time we are in nyc!

  • Review 47 (2014-08-04 - Rating: 5)

I may be biased because my friend is friends with all of the waitstaff here and they treat us extra special, but this place is fabulous. They have buratta that is to die for and great pasta dishes and wines to pair with. It is a cosy little place and the outside is adorned with twinkly little lights, making it a great date spot in the village.

  • Review 48 (2017-04-23 - Rating: 5)

Great food, nice atmosphere (although too noisy) and friendly service.

  • Review 49 (2014-01-06 - Rating: 4)

I dont think I can say enough about this place. I have been here twice now, and both times were fantastic. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because it can be a little unorganized in their seating process. They do not take reservations for small groups, and will leave an entire table open while they wait for a reservation that isnt supposed to come for another hour. However, their food and atmosphere makes up for that! Aria has a great menu of Italian dishes and a greats selection of wine. The ambiance is cozy with a definite Italian flare. There is one large communal table and a few smaller tables. There is also a bar that runs the length of this small restaurant that is also a great choice to sit at. The waiters all know the menu very well and can make educated suggestions about both the food and the wine. From the moment you walk past the charming Christmas lights that decorate the outside of this west village gem, and through the doors, you feel like you have just entered a special place. The last time I was there, my friends and I ordered wine, a cheese and meat charcuterie option, a beet salad with goat cheese and a phenomenal small plate that was some type of eggplant with ricotta and marinara sauce. The Montepulciano dAbruzzo wine was a terrific option to go with the meal.I really cant speak highly enough about this place, and I am looking forward to going back and working my way through their menu.

  • Review 50 (2023-12-27 - Rating: 5)

Very good place to taste good (Italian) wines while tasting very good pastalunch meal possibilities at quite reasonable pricedo not hesitate to enter despite the scaffolding

  • Review 51 (2018-07-15 - Rating: 4)

Cute ambiance but the service is a bit lacking on busy days. The place gets super loud so hearing someone close to you while sitting at communal tables is tough. Food is same as Terra in TriBeCa or Cotenna in WV. affordable Italian with a laid back vibe but more pleasurable during non-rush hour.

  • Review 52 (2023-02-19 - Rating: 5)

I didnt drink but this is one of my favorite places downtown. Small dishes are so good. Goat cheese eggplant amazing

  • Review 53 (2019-11-06 - Rating: 4)

Food is ok. Service is wonderful. Avoid going between 18:30 - 21:00. Probably there is a waiting time of 30 minutes. Boutique restaurant located in Perry Street, easy to get to and nice to explore around the neighborhood.

  • Review 54 (2018-12-29 - Rating: 5)

Came here with my family for brunch, was delicious. Topped it off with some lovely homeade cheesecake and homemade ice cream that melted in my mouth. Thanks to our waiter for the great service!

  • Review 55 (2018-02-25 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite places. Delicious and always busy. Staff is very friendly , fast and professional (especially Russian waiter! always takes into account my wishes) thank you!

  • Review 56 (2015-04-14 - Rating: 4)

Good wines, great upbeat ambiance, and superb pasta. Not sure about the Salumi though: my speck wasnt really speck, some slices were a little dry and it was garnished with olives (fine) and balsamico (not fine: you shouldnt need to add a dressing to Salumi). Overall Id still give it 4 stars.

  • Review 57 (2016-12-15 - Rating: 5)

Awesome little restaurant, the food is excellent and is served like tapas so you can experience multiple dishes without breaking the bank. The cocktails are great as well, very generous with the alcohol!

  • Review 58 (2016-04-13 - Rating: 5)

I love all the places that the couples in charge of this place put togther.Aria is the largest i have been too but it still has a sense of intimacy for each table. The food and wine are fantastic, nothing less. Everything on the menu is cheap and sooooo good.Id recommend trying the lamp chops, the meat balls, the mussels, the cheese wrapped in speck, the raviolli, the gnocchi, the oysters, the beef tartare, the beef ragu, the creme caramel, the panacotta, the Pinot Grigio... EVERYTHING IS GOOD!

  • Review 59 (2023-02-15 - Rating: 5)

This place doesn’t miss. Decided to go with the specials instead of the regular menu because lamb shank and truffle gnocchi is hard to turn down. The gnocchi was cheesy, creamy, perfect texture and you could definitely taste the truffle. The lamb shank came with risotto. A real showstopper in terms of size, very well cooked, excellently flavored in kind of an Osso Buco style. They don’t serve it often, would recommend if it’s available.

  • Review 60 (2018-12-04 - Rating: 5)

Pretty nice and cozy dining environment. The food is really good, recommend the lamb chop!

  • Review 61 (2023-05-10 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 64 (2016-07-06 - Rating: 5)

Love this place! Good wine, great appetizers. Great little New York wine bar. Center table is perfect for a large group. Bars great for one-on-ones.

  • Review 65 (2019-09-18 - Rating: 4)

The food and service was fantastic. The only reason I wouldnt give 5 stars is that we were sat up at the window which is quite cramped and uncomfortable and you cant see the rest of the restaurant.

MY HONEST, JUDGMENTAL, UNWANTED OPINION, THE GOOD & THE BAD! Swung by this little spot, tucked in the West Village with a few friend’s earlier today, for a quick drink and bite into some fresh pasta! Awesome spot! While service was on point, there drinks were great! My friends discussed there business ventures as I was tipping seats over, from the (one to many sips). The ravioli was a 5 star, as well as the old subway tiled space, that set the environment for a historic feel of what old school Manhattan was all about! If your in the neighborhood or visiting from out of state, make sure you make a pit stop! Awesome nook to end a long day.

Darling wine bar and Italian restaurant in the West Village. Very authentic, delicious pastas for sharing and a nice wine list.

  • Review 98 (2017-05-13 - Rating: 4)

Had a lovely dinner experience at Aria with friends - we ordered wine and a bunch of small plates to share, and all loved the food. They have a ton of specials each day, so keep an eye out for those, but also highly recommend the mushroom truffle bruschetta, the gnocchi, and the meatballs. Very reasonably priced and delicious! The servers were also wonderful and let us sit and talk for a long time without being pushy even at a busy dinner hour. The restaurant gets VERY loud though, so sit by the window or go early/ late if you want to be able to hear people around you. Make a reservation in advance on Resy!

  • Review 99 (2019-11-25 - Rating: 5)

The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free dishes. The food was very delicious.

  • Review 100 (2023-12-01 - Rating: 5)

Everything at Aria was PERFECT!! The staff were all so fun and sweet and the food was INCREDIBLE. We got the pear salad, calamari, mussels, truffle gnocchi, lobster ravioli and the chocolate soufflé and it was all 10/10! We also got a bottle of the Chianti which was delicious. Will definitely be back!

  • Review 106 (2023-08-18 - Rating: 5)

Loved this little cozy place tucked away in the West Village. Sat at the bar with a very good bartender noshing and drinking. Small selection of white wines but they were all fabulous, not too sweet and not too dry. Great place to just chat and drink.

  • Review 107 (2017-09-09 - Rating: 5)

Great Italian food, delicate portions but not really Small, 4 for two is great, super service, and a great buzz and full of happy chatty pretty people. Go there!

  • Review 109 (2023-06-09 - Rating: 5)

Stopped by here with a friend after a movie, mid-afternoon mid week. Had the special lamb shank risotto. So tasty. The chocolate soufflé dessert was wonderful. Because of the time of day it was not crowded and our waitress was very pleasant. I will definitely go again.

Food is good. Service was ok, our servers were nice and polite but we had to prompt them for the cheese and the bread, which was a bit of a bummer; but not a big deal.

Good food but calling this a wine bar is a crime, having only the grape variety in the menu… had a great experience tho, fair price and tasty.

  • Review 141 (2018-04-18 - Rating: 4)

Aria is ideal for sharing an intimate, meaningful experience with a romantic partner, family member or good friend. Comforting aromas permeate the candlelit environment, which is quintessentially cozy. Despite closely positioned tables and its invariable full-occupancy, Aria retains its rustic, intimate vibe. The array of Italian small plates are exceptional in taste and excellent for sharing. Portions trend small but the contents heavy, so order plentifully but cautiously.A professional but relatable wait staff further enhance a consistently fantastic Aria experience.

  • Review 146 (2015-08-09 - Rating: 5)

This is such a great spot for a casual Saturday night date! I came for the wine but was pleasantly surprised when the food turned out to be even better. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were much bigger than expected. Pro Tips: Trust the waiter completely for their menu recommendations and sit at the two sided bar (if by yourself or with one other person).

  • Review 147 (2018-03-07 - Rating: 5)

This place is so nice 👌 I love it, the service is fast and the staff is very friendly!

  • Review 150 (2016-06-09 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorites wine bars in the city. The food is meant to be shared. My favorites include the Mac and cheese with truffles and the octopus. They had a salad with mango daily special. Why would any one want that? Anyways someone ordered it and the chef thought: just mango and lettuce sucks, lets put some friend goat cheese. Genius. No question about it.

  • Review 151 (2020-08-17 - Rating: 5)

My fave NYC Restaurant. Both (Hell’s Kitchen and Perry Street) locations are always consistent. Love the Pasta with Mushrooms and the house Chardonnay. Delish!

  • Review 152 (2018-01-12 - Rating: 5)

My favorite restaurant! They serve Italian tapas with an awesome wine selection. Dishes range from $10-$18 but they are meant to share so need to order a couple to make it filling! I love the tagliatelle bolognese! The space is tight but it’s very intimate and perfect for date night!
