    I go quite often!!! Great atmosphere! Friendly but seriously protective staff! Different genres of music played nightly and live bands on rotation as well!! Try the frozen mixed drinks! Those are amazing!! Love the place!!

    Staff is very friendly and helpful. Not bad prices on drinks. Very cute, cozy bar area and separate live music space. Stage is on the slightly smaller side but still comfortably fit a band of 6. Band green room is pretty tight, but it works. Howard was/is a pro on sound... quick and dedicated.

    Classic venue for great shows. Nice beer selection in the quieter bar area. The actual music space has a great NYC vibe and they always bring in solid acts from around the country, not just around the corner. Add it to the list. Be prepared for VERY loud music most of the time.

    Came here to see Katie Buchanan, Liam Buchanan and Kim Vogels. Venue downstairs was a bit cramped, warm and stuffy. Pbr cans were $4. Id come back - tickets were cheap and music was good. The street level bar was much more enticing. Crowd was very chill/laid back.

    Great place for drinking with a well stocked bar and good happy hour. Bar staff were excellent, security too. Was asked for ID, first time in 40 years 😁.

    The former Puerto Rican bodega/grocery store (the facade of which remains) and neighboring butcher shop were turned into a bar in 1995. After expanding into the next-door butcher shop in the late 90s, Arlenes offers two fully stocked bars and a gallery space for artists in addition to its large helping of live music. A very hip bar & concert venue. The place has a lot of Great bands that come to play in the large basement boutique style stage. Get up close with the band, enjoy good live music & drinks.

    Its always a good vibe in there without a crazy long line to get in either. The space is really nice with a great variety of genres that cater to multiple demographics. The staff is amazing, and keeps the place running so well, and trouble free. Definitely a party spot for friends or people looking for a good time on the weekend in the city

    I was at the amazing live show by the band Apollos Ghost. The atmosphere is excellent. As a photographer I would have wished for more lighting on the drums. Other than that, everything is great!

    Tommy Londons 5 dollar rock show is priceless. A place to see up and coming original rock bands (Ive played there) and have a good time with nice people. One of my favorite places to go in the city.

    Great intimate little venue with a long history of putting on awesome gigs.I watched four different music acts the night I visited end all four were of a high quality. Drinks seemed relatively cheap for NYC.Would definitely go again and recommend to others.

    Ive played here many times and its my favorite venue. Our fans say it sounds great. The space is very comfortable. The location cant be beat for hanging out after shows. As a performer, the gear is solid and the staff especially Howard and Josh on sound are fantastic.

    The coolest bar in the city, hands down.My friends band plays here every few months so Ive been here several times. Each time I have a great time. The staff are pretty cool and the layout of the place is great for watching. Its a cool place for people watching and everyone is always chill when Im there.The sound system always sounds great and the beers are cold and nreasonably priced. Very conveniently located on Stanton street in the east village. Go Arlene!

    Arlenes is a unicorn. An established music venue in the LES with reasonably priced drinks, a friendly staff, a great live room, and an excellent culture of musicians and jam sessions? Only one place I can think of in the area that checks all those boxes!

    Ive only ever been to Arlenes on Sundays but they have the best happy hour in the LES! So many great/strong beers for $3-$5 (Duvel, Delerium). And if youre looking to step away from the NFL Sunday football crowd, Arlenes is the best--they show extreme sports (skateboarding, snowboarding etc) instead. Ive never been to a show but the venue looks like it can hold a pretty big crowd.

    My friends band played there last night and it was an epic venue and setup. Upstairs they have a large size bar and through the door downstairs is the live music area, also equipped with a full bar and plenty of room. The lighting and sound was great and the staff was friendly. A Tecate and shot of tequila for $9 is normal pricing for Manhattan and the bartender was cool. Afterwards they had a DJ spinning old school hip hop/house hip hop and the dance floor was fun and not overly packed. All in all a fun night.

    A classic divey venue. Everywhere you look, there are relics of the live acts that have played there over the years. The separation between the performance space and the bar provides a nice variety in music volume and genre. The bar is usually free entry, then paying inside gets you a wristband to go between the two spaces all night. The bathroom is a bit rough and the bar is a little slow but very friendly. The “green room” for bands is a closet with a combination code.
