    As someone who frequents the bar scene in NYC, I was extremely surprised to find this hidden gem. At first glance, Bandits seems pretty ordinary but if you come during the right time of the week, instead of your typical Friday and Saturday night dancing bar experience, I’m convinced Bandits could actually be a cocktail staple in Manhattan. Severely underrated. I stopped yesterday with a friend for their Martini Monday and ended up sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender, Benjamin for a few hours.I had the Bobby Wasabi, the Professor Plum, Slap Me With A Candlestick, and a riff on the Double Chicken Please cocktail Japanese Cold Noodles, which he made.Comparatively, to neighboring cocktail bars, this should be on the top of your list to go. Will definitely be returning with some more friends. Real hospitality can be found here.P.S. I removed the flaming garnish from the Professor Plum drink.

    This place was such a gem! Seats are first come, first served, so no reservations- but we were seated after 15 minutes or so.The food here is absolutely amazing, specifically their specialty tater tots. We had the Disco Tots and I was taken to another world!The ambience is beyond amazing, and they have specialty nights as well like disco brunch and movie nights. Highly recommend.

    Didn’t have food, second time here ever. They had a movie night playing warriors which was super cool. Came here with some friends after a show, we enjoyed some martinis and cocktails. Ben was behind the stick, very knowledgeable, funny dude. Definitely will be back to try the snacks but I really enjoyed the diner vibe with a 70s retro look. Great music and vibes.

    Service was a little off the night we were in there. Our server disappeared without saying anything but we were able to get service at the bar. Didn’t have the food but the drinks were good. Atmosphere was nice but booths small so not very comfortable.

    Super cute! Crowd was VERY finance bro when I went, not sure if that’s the usual crowd or what. We had a reservation and I’d recommend it, we still had to wait around 20 minutes for a seat on a Thursday evening so not terrible! Bartenders and servers were great. Drinks were fun and interesting flavor combos.

    Great cocktails. Our bartender kinda couldn’t answer many questions we had about the drinks, but he made them great, so I guess I can’t complain! This was my second visit and both times had really good drinks.

    Great vibe, drinks, bar snacks, and service. This was my second time here and I tried the tater tots for the first time (the dosa and tacos ones) and they were delicious. Cocktails are great too. Looking forward to coming back!

    Such an amazing little place! It’s very unassuming when you walk past in but when you walk in it, it gives retro vibes. Old school feel. Great menu. Great cocktails. The food was delicious. I got their mezcal cocktail and with two I was good! Their everything peppers and tater tots were delicious! The music was great. Fun for a group, a no frills first date or even solo for a quick little stop. If you visit their IG page you can see more.

    Best place for a single girl to drink. They really take care of you, and the cocktails are amazing. I asked for something smokey and he made up this mescal burnt thyme drink on the spot. When I’m looking for a good cocktail and friendly faces, this is where I come!

    We really liked the atmosphere and the fully stocked bar with fresh cocktail ingredients. The cocktail list was really impressive. It was an extra fun space to be in. I would definitely go back, and I love how much vegan food is on their menu! My favorite place in this neighborhood.

    I had beer on draft and it was good. Their drink selection is creative and the atmosphere is small but eclectic and fun.I visited with my wheelchair and both entrances had a step to get in. They had a ramp they could set up but they had trouble setting it up. The place was large enough to navigate in my chair once I was inside.

    Popped in and sat at the bar with some friends. Ive just recently moved to NYC and Ive never felt more welcome!! Ben behind the bar was such a great host and gave us a long list of places to visit. Embodied the true meaning of hospitality, will definitely be back. Must go if you are in the area!

    A really wonderful & unique bar. The drink menu has something for everyone. My friends and I tried a few cocktails and they were some of the best Ive had! I love that they have a (delicious) mix of vegan & non-vegan food options. The space both inside + outdoor is gorgeous and has a really fun and lively vibe to it.The best part though was the service. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgable. They were patient and thorough in helping to recommend the items they thought we would like the most. Also, even though they were incredibly slammed, we were constantly being checked in on, water refilled, etc.

    Excellent spot. Very much the vibes you want.Owner was around and saw people acting a fool and handled it very well.     Super cute decor and amazing staff. After spending the day exploring the city alone I planned on meeting friends for drinks. My phone needed a charge and I sat at a booth that had an outlet. The host asked if I had a reservation and when I explained he very kindly let me know I could squat there until a reservation came in. Then the server came by and even took my order despite not being my table. Your staff on this night was so incredibly kind and accommodating it really helped make the city feel like home!This is not to understate the spectacular cocktails and amazing decor, including the best patio booths in the city!Thank you!!!

    Great drinks, GREAT playlist, and very engaging and knowledgeable staff. I had the Ahhlington, which was strong, smoky & spicy - highly recommend! Kyle, who was waiting on us, also made us an off-menu cocktail after learning about our enthusiasm for rum. For the reviews complaining about it being overpriced, not sure where you usually go out but $18 is the standard for a good cocktail in NYC...Ive tried to visit previously on Friday and Saturday evening, but its been packed and there was a line. Just something to consider when planning your visit!

    This place knows what theyre doing. Drinks are excellent (and strong) and the upscale Shore/bar food is on point. Service is a little iffy at times but what they bring you is fantastic. Outdoor seating is unfortunately right on a corner, so if youre there with a small group youre not getting one of their diner-style booths; youre going at a shaky 2-top on the sidewalk potentially near a city trash can.But even though I was literally feet away from NYC garbage, still 4 stars. So, you see their appeal.

    In New York they’re only few places that are eclectic and welcoming to all. Believe me “this is one of the best of them” with interior design that’s top notch reminding you of a Hollywood television sitcom set. It is A very rare thing today to find a Bar that looks good, that has amazing drinks. Well, they look and taste amazing and there’s always a theme to each drink!! This is like going with Alice to Wonderland in the middle of the West Village..Believe me this place was built for a fun person that wants to take a date somewhere special. The individual that wants to help his coworkers get out of their shell, after work. You should go before your not able to get a table!!!

    Great food, drinks, ambience, and wait staff. My friends and I were there for my boyfriends birthday and the servers were all very hospitable and accommodating. HOWEVER the hostess (with the long brown curly hair) was the rudest and nastiest person Ive ever encountered in my life. She came chasing after my friend and started screaming and belittling him in front of our table for not listening to her when she had told him to wait (my friend told me he couldnt hear what she was saying over all the people and noise). When I told her she was being very rude and acting extremely unprofessional, she responded, Yeah, I dont care. Her behavior, attitude, and tone of voice were all repulsive. Honestly, it was the worst treatment I have ever received by any restaurant staff. I liked everything about this place but I would only recommend it to others once this hostess situation is taken care of.

    Darlene is the absolute best. I kind of want to be her when I grow up. She’s everything. Kind, smart, funny, compassionate. She’s the best hostess I have ever seen in my 21 years of life. I might invite her to thanksgiving because I think she’s that wonderful. My parents would love her. And she had fantastic cardigans. I hope that she thrives and continues to be so iconic.

    The halal tater tots and mozzarella sticks went perfectly with our two rounds of drinks. Packed by 7pm on a Saturday — reserve or arrive early for a booth seat and true upscale “diner/dive” experience. Will be back for brunch.

    Very cool bar with fun drinks and a retro, tropical vibe. An instant mood booster walking into this place.They take reservations, but you could easily get in if you get there early-ish. For a relatively new place its very, very popular. I can already see that its drawing a loyal crowd. We were told to wait outside until our friend arrived, the hostess let us in after we waited 5-10 minutes and just asked us for the name of our friend so she could let him in. Very attentive service.I got the Truth or Pear on a good recommendation and my boyfriend got the Rice Russian. Both were very instagrammable. The Rice Russian came with a little shot of rice milk with a wafer cookie! I absolutely loved the Truth or Pear - its mezcal with a kick.The bar food looked good, though we didnt get any. Its pretty loud at the bar, so be prepared to shout.

    This is the kind of place you go and you trust that the bartender really knows how to make an amazing drink and you take their recommendations. It has to be one of the top new rhum / tiki style cocktail bars in the city based on the quality of what they are serving. Delicious drinks, amazing food, and such a cool vibe. I highly recommend this bar. Definitely try the Tiki Drinks - super well balanced. The signature cocktails are really good too - especially the Bobby Wasabi.

    I came here at recommendation of a local friend. This place was super cozy with just a bit of dive like setting. We had a great experience. I do recommend making a reservation in order to be able to have a table and eat. I really enjoyed the vibe inside, so I would recommend eating inside. However, if you want a more quiet environment; outside might be better for you. I appreciate the assortment of different crafted cocktails. Drinks may take a little while to come, but given they were so good, it was not bad at all. I’d come here for the cocktails over the food, but share a plate while you’re at it.

    This place is sooo good. Came here for brunch and the food and drinks were amazing. The fried chicken sandwhich was massive and delicious, and the dosa tater tots were great. We also had some of the pancakes which were sweet but not overpowering. I knew the drinks were good already but would definitely return for brunch!

    We had such a great time at Disco Brunch! Service was great - friendly and fun staff! Got the bloody mary, which was a bit pickle flavored but not overwhelming. Loved it. Brunch was the fried chicken sammie and huevos banditos. Both were amazing. The slaw was really good but the baghrir bun really made the sammie. The huevos were the best in the area for sure. Great place and will come back!

    This is a true 5 star establishment. Every night I have spent at Bandits has been an absolute blast. Each member of the team is friendly, fun and dare I say marvelous.     Stopped by here after dinner at Caliente Cab co (delicious) and had a few drinks with our bartender Garrett who was phenomenal. Had the best Moscow Mule I’ve had in a VERY long time from Garrett. Super cool place, great bartender. Would recommend 10/10. Thanks, dude!

    This quirky little bar with 70s memorabilia decorating the walls was a welcoming delight. Between the interludes of laughing and chatting from the clientel some great tunes from Billy Idol filled the lulls. The staff we’re all welcoming and friendly suggesting great places to check out while in New York and a heated debate started over the best place for cheese cake. Did I say the food was great? Because it was GREAT. The loaded tots were in plentiful supply and the Smash burger (get it with the maple bacon) has put all other burgers I’ve had here to shame. The bartender even made me up a delicious cocktail to imitate my requested drink (it was better than my requested drink). We’re doing a food tour of New York, but may have to make an exception to one time only rule and go again.

    The bar was jam packed, it was hard to get in. But the host and server were very attentive and nice, made me and my group feel very welcomed. Even though it was PACKED inside, we were seated outside in their gorgeous outdoor dining area (which looks like a mash up of a disco club and a retro diner). The drink was okay, I kinda was expecting them to blow my socks off, but with the bar being so busy, the bartenders were probably overwhelmed.

    Staff and atmosphere are always amazing here. The team has worked hard to not only build an immersive 70s Dinner experience but also has the cocktail chops to boot. From the hosts to the bartenders and wait staff the entire crew is welcoming and attentive. Bandits is the best spot for great cocktails and good fun in the west village.

    Bandits is a fantastic new bar. In the wake of everything reopening, the bar made me feel right at home even after 16 months not sitting at a bar. The staff was super welcoming and of course the drinks are fantastic. Never seen a bar so efficient and with it on opening night. CRUSHED IT.

    Super smooth cocktails with a friendly, yet very chill, staff. The Sazerac is one of the best Ive ever had.... And Ive had more than i care to admit. Clearly the regulars love this place - theres a high energy here without being frenetic. If youre from out of town... Maybe look to get a reservation.Brunch looks good and is in my To Do list.

    One of the cutest bars in the WV with incredible drinks and food. The bartenders are so kind and personable and make incredible drinks! I also love the interior, as it really adds to the atmosphere. I’m a local in the area, and absolutely love coming here for a happy hour with my boyfriend.The only negative feedback I can share is about the hostess. She was incredibly rude & condescending, and literally screamed at me for stepping one foot in the door (I was fully masked as well), which was confusing since there’s no outdoor hostess stand nor signage. Not only did she continue to yell at my boyfriend & I when we were outside on the sidewalk sharing our vaccine proof, but she continued to glare at us the entire time we were seated at the bar. We felt very uncomfortable by her unwanted glares and left earlier than intended, which is a shame because we enjoyed everything else about our experience.All in all, I would recommend going to Bandits, but I also encourage the management to remind the hostess the importance of being kind.
