A must visit if you’re looking for a charming cafe. Definitely the most authentic espresso bar I’ve been to in the West Village. A personal favorite, so why don’t you go see for yourself! -

This place gets sooo busy in the summer even on a weeknight so come knowing there will likely be a line or wait time. wait was longer than expected and the drinks are definitely pricey too on avg of 18-20 per drink. the aperol spritz was great and i love the ambience and location of this bar but indoor seating is limited. overall a cute bar to come with friends on a nice warm day and enjoy a drink or two. wish they had happy hours! -

This place is a fantastic cafe ☕ and wine bar! 🍷 Bar Pisellino serves on of the best Italian Hot 🔥 Chocolate 🍫 in NYC! 🗽 The staff 👨🍳 is friendly, welcoming, and super professional! This spot has incredible ambience 🎶 and is beautifully decorated. 🛋️ They have limited indoor seating 🪑 and more outdoor seating so definitely arrive early! ⏰ I wish I came here sooner! -

This place has a good vibe. We popped in one night around 10:00 and the place was jammed. A very nice selection of amaros. Courteous service from the staff. Espresso & pastries during the day.I like that this place can provide your beverage needs for the whole day. A casual & relaxed feeling to the place. -

Bar Pisellino in New York City captures the essence of Italy with its small and quaint ambiance. The delightful atmosphere is complemented by exceptional cocktails that transport you to the heart of Italian charm. Its a perfect spot for those seeking an authentic experience and flavorful drinks in the heart of the city. -

Finally got to visit this beautiful cafe/bar located in the gorgeous west village area. We enjoyed some aperitivos before our dinner that afternoon and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The Aperol spritz was delicious and can’t wait to be back. Love the Italian vibe it gave me. The snacks were also really good. -

Cute and cozy place for coffee and drinks! Love Went early in the morning so it was more of a Cafe and croissant type of outing. Staff is very nice and not annoying.I had a regular croissant but they have lots of pastries to choose from, including apricot and Nutella croissants. They have doughnuts. They also have a prosciutto and salami panini.Love the personality of the bar. There is outdoor seating on both sides of the restaurant (its on a corner). Ambiance is more on the quiet side with relaxing Italian music playing in the background. While I didnt indulge, seems like he place to have wine, whiskey and other cocktails. Enjoy! -
Review 10 (2024-12-08 - Rating: 5)
The hot chocolate here was great. It’s not too thick and not too thin: it comes with reallyGood cream. The wait isn’t too bad but it’s no reso. Most people leave soon so you will get a table. -

On todays episode of I had to kill time before Via Carota, we have Bar Pisellino. As others have mentioned, this place is a classic Italian cafe. Upon entrance, I see a few couples have aperol spritzs that look absolutely delicious. However, I had told myself I wasnt drinking as I could feel a cold coming on. An internal war ensued. We opted to sit outside as what better people watching spot than right across the street from Via Carota. The waiter came and handed us menus and had on the coolest leather hat Ive ever seen. I wanted to take a picture but didnt want to be weird.I ended up defeating myself and settled on an americano, the homie getting a hot chocolate.Sitting there with my legs crossed facing the street sipping my coffee in my Johnny Depp glasses, I felt pretty beast. The hot chocolate was heavenly as there was a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it. I think everyone should try it at some stage in their life.Overall, Bar Pisellino is the perfect place to just relax and have a coffee or a drink, just enjoying the day and life in general. -

Stopped on a rainy Saturday afternoon.Bar Pisellino was very busy and we waited an hour for a table.Mimosa + Spritz came out to $31I also went back for breakfast, an Italian breakfast with foamy cappuccino and mini cornetti. We also tried the mini bombolino but i wasn’t impressed. Loved the presentation, i felt like i was in an historical bar (coffeeshop) in Italy☺️ -
Review 13 (2024-04-25 - Rating: 5)
Busy little spot on the corner, we waited in line for a while but didn’t mind. Great people watching! The hostess was very accommodating and we were able to grab a drink before being seated. We sat outside under the heater, and it was comfortable. The Aperol spritz didn’t disappoint and the pistachio cocktail was unique and delicious. -
Review 14 (2024-11-15 - Rating: 5)
I’ve been a Pisellino fan for years - my last visit was Monday! From hot chocolate to aperol spritz, they never miss. Service is excellent and staff is willing to walk through the Italian menu. Location is perfect for a West Village lover to sip along 7th Ave! -
Review 15 (2023-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Amazing vibes and interior space, so fun to stop in for a drink or snack. Limited indoor seating so don’t expect seating for a large group. Ordered hot chocolate and it was good but more like a mouse, probably would stick with coffee or cocktail next time. -
Review 16 (2023-07-21 - Rating: 5)
Lovely, authentic Italian bar. Perfect spot for aperitivo, including salatini (olives, nuts, chips in the classic aperitivo fashion). Great drinks, presentation, atmosphere. There’s often a long line so they kind of rush you out, but still a great experience -
Review 17 (2023-05-09 - Rating: 5)
Lovely little bar in west village. This place is our favorite place for a couple of drinks and a little snack!! My husband loves their Negronis. Sandwiches are actually from their sister cafe which is a very popular brunch place. Feels like a mini trip to Europe:) Weekends are always a bit busy but if you are lucky, you will get a seat quickly🤫 -

Review 19 (2022-03-25 - Rating: 5)
The ladder is the best (standing) seat in the house! Cocktails and decor were top notch, energy perfect for pre-dinner drinks, and service great. Would highly recommend Bar Pisellino, even though it made me long for true aperitivo culture (where snacks are provided with your drink!). -
Review 20 (2022-06-27 - Rating: 5)

Review 23 (2021-07-04 - Rating: 4)
An excellent cafe in the heart of the west village. Come for a little taste and experience of Italy. Creative cocktails, espresso and delicious hot chocolate. They also have small pastries and desserts available, but I haven’t tried. The prices are a little high but can be tolerated if you treat this place as an occasion or destination. I definitely recommend to at least come and try! -
Review 24 (2023-04-24 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite cafes in the city. Truly felt as if I was in old world Europe. Great pastries, coffee and setting. -
Review 25 (2024-07-28 - Rating: 5)

Review 26 (2023-07-21 - Rating: 4)
Met up with a friend here for a quick drink. Great selection of negroni-style drinks! Also, wonderful for people watching from the outside seating. Service was friendly and nice and would come back to explore the menu more. -
Review 27 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 5)
A taste of Italy in the West Village with a great scotch selection transporting you elsewhere. Delightful, vacation-like vibes. -
Review 28 (2022-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Really cute coffee bar. Coffee and cocktail are excellent! Pastry was delicious, especially the bomboloni! Seating area can be crowded. -
Review 29 (2022-10-01 - Rating: 5)
Bar Pisellino is absolutely charming, quaint and quintessentially European in its atmosphere. It is the ideal spot to stop for an afternoon aperitif, snack, cocktail or coffee. It’s warm and inviting. Grab an outdoor table and people watch over n the heart of the village. The cacio e pepe potato chips are fantastic. The olives - both in the martinis and those offered in the Salatini are bright, meaty and delicious. It is a favorite go-to spot. -
Review 30 (2024-09-15 - Rating: 5)
The cocktails were fantastic! Highly recommend. -
Review 31 (2023-03-22 - Rating: 4)
Great atmosphere, good service and tasty food. A little more flavor in the dishes could have pushed this to a 5 ⭐️. -
Review 32 (2023-02-24 - Rating: 5)
Gorgeous, traditional bar. We went early around 4pm on a Thursday so managed to snag a table without a wait.Service was very attentive and the drinks were delicious! I had a dirty martini which came with a sidecar, while my partner had an aperol spritz and Brandy sour (tasted like a fresh, tart apple crumble). I ended up going for a cortado for my last drink which also met the standard of their cocktails.A great place to enjoy drinks while waiting for the reservations to open up at 5pm at Via Carota over the road. -
Review 33 (2024-08-17 - Rating: 4)
Pisellino is a hit and miss type of affair. if is not too crowded you’ll have a good experience. the finger food is great, best coffee in a 20 block radius, the cocktails are awesomethe service on the other hand can be very *very* slow and borderline rude, or at the very least uncaring.i’ve been coming here for many years.it’s owned by the buvette people, good people, but victims of their own success.still, i’ll keep coming, but i try to choose my timing carefully.(edited for typos) -
Review 34 (2022-03-21 - Rating: 5)
Travel guru Samantha Brown follows their Instagram account. I think this is all I need to say! I pretty much stumbled into this bar/café while walking around and am so glad I stopped in. The inside is stunning! And it wasnt very busy when I visited. One of the waiters patiently explained their cocktail menu to me and after I ordered I took a seat outside, enjoyed the sun, and people watched. A great place to take a break from sightseeing. -
Review 35 (2024-09-10 - Rating: 4)
Great place to have drinks but not all menu available -
Review 36 (2022-11-24 - Rating: 4)
Great cafe, similar to any youll find in Italy as there is seating, but you can also drink it standing on the bar. Coffee was very good and cake was good as well. -
Review 37 (2019-08-29 - Rating: 5)
Well well well. What a pleasant surprise. The surprise being that I walked past this place not knowing that it existed. Although there is no surprise that this place will be magic if you take a look at it. All windows on the corner with ample outdoor two tops and some perfect solo dining spots inside. All wood, tile, marble and brass with a perfectly executed Sbagliato, small sandwiches and a lovely mix of pickles, olives, cheese and salumi. In love.Fair warning: I was lucky enough to be here late morning on a weekday and I can imagine it is a very different scene later in the evening and on weekends. -
Review 38 (2019-12-16 - Rating: 5)
European coffee bar. Elegantly cozy. Same owner as Via Carota across the street. If you like that one then you will probably like this as well. The hot chocolate is thick, rich, not too sweet, a pleasure in winter time. I will go back to try other beverages. -
Review 39 (2024-03-15 - Rating: 5)
First time at Bar Pisellino and I loved it. The GM Amy went out of her way to sit us promptly even though the line at the door was insane. She also took the time to talk to us and enhance our experience, they are lucky to have her at the door. Drinks and Italian Bar snacks were authentic, fresh and delicious. -
Review 40 (2019-06-03 - Rating: 5)
The best spritz in Manhattan (10/10). A perfect spot for tables of two since most seating can’t accommodate more. Great for pre-dinner drinks or when you’re waiting for a table elsewhere. A very, very good and needed addition to the West Village. -
Review 41 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 5)
Wow! A perfect spot for an espresso and pastry before I head to work. Such a timeless neighborhood spot! -
Review 42 (2021-03-12 - Rating: 5)
Very charming italian bar/cafe. Ran by the same owners of buvette, via carota and il sodi. Like buvette, its got that very distinguished European vibe. Yes, the hosts are kinda snobbish but the quality is too notch without a doubt. Best spritz i had in the city (, and my second favorite is buvette). The pistachio cocktail with gin was creamy and citrusy. The frappe tasted pretty much like a cold brew Frappuccino. Charming place to get drinks w friends. -
Review 43 (2024-11-08 - Rating: 5)
Grabbed a drink while waiting for our table at Via Carota. Great service, beautiful spot to just sit and enjoy people watching. -
Review 44 (2024-11-03 - Rating: 5)

Review 45 (2024-05-11 - Rating: 5)
Bar Pisellino is perfect. Its NYC and Milan all wrapped up. Amy is ON IT and thats not easy with the bar/restaurant being on a busy corner smack in the middle of the West Village. Amy managed people in and out like an air traffic controller. Not easy and there were very entitled and pushy patrons angling for seats out of turn etc. The bartenders are attentive and super attractive (never hurts). Amy communicated with anyone waiting and sequenced guests to their tables effortlessly. Brava! She watched the whole procession like a hawk and made the experience perfect. We sat outside at our little cafe table and watched the world go by. My guest was visiting from Brazil and couldnt say enough about the experience all around. Amy even remembered my name when I left an hour later. I love this place and will find any opportunity to come back over and over. -

Came for a martini on the 4th of July. Was pretty busy but grateful they were open! I believe our server was Benji who was doing a good job! Was the only server tending to the outside area so waited a little bit but not bad at all consider it was a holiday. Just had a martini with vodka and it was delicious. Came served with a little side car! -

Review 51 (2019-06-01 - Rating: 5)
Was so excited to try out this place ever since I heard it was going to open up. It’s really small so there is a bit of a wait for a table outside but boy is it worth it. The Aperol here is the best I’ve ever had, and the bombolonis were good too. Service could be faster, but again, the aperols are totally worth it. -

This is my favorite bar in Manhattan. The ambiance is lively yet sophisticated. It’s perfect for catching up with friends or a date. The cocktails are divine and the vibe is great. The team is superb and the service is always excellent. Dirty martini is my go-to… the team knows what they are doing! -

Review 58 (2023-11-02 - Rating: 5)
This place serves the best Espresso Martini Ive ever had. It was impeccably mixed, and upon my first sip, it offered a smooth and rich experience in my mouth. They garnished it with coffee grounds instead of coffee beans, and the foam had a delightful, robust texture. Every aspect was simply flawless. The interior and decor of the establishment had a classic yet unique ambiance, which I found quite appealing. -

Review 70 (2024-05-10 - Rating: 4)
Bar Pisellino is a wonderful little WV haunt. It has the typical hustle and bustle of NYC, and the menu is perfect for happy hour or pre-dinner drinks. The biggest downsides are the wait (which can be long), the tightness of the tables (which can lead to some uncomfortable interactions with neighboring ones), and the waitstaff can be short at times (being as busy as they are). They make a great martini, and I love their little paninis which come 2 to an order. Do not skip on the cacio et Pepe chips either! Will definitely be back, but not there are many other options in the WV as well. -
Review 71 (2024-08-30 - Rating: 5)
We had a wonderful time here! The drinks and atmosphere were amazing, but the service was our favorite part. We took our 9 yr old daughter and they were so kind and gracious throughout. Thank you especially to our lovely waiter Noble, our second waiter who gifted us delicious donuts, and the amazing host (with short dark hair and red lip), we truly appreciate your kindness and can’t wait to come back! -

Quintessential NYC experience!! Fantastic blue eyed host (I don’t know her name but wow she is a pro) seated us outdoors on a busy Friday evening. Had the best Negroni (Antico) and Pistachio Gin. Order olives and Parmesan breadsticks. Simply outstanding, everything was perfect and unforgettable!! -

Portions are small for prices but the space is cute and the servers are very nice! -
Review 76 (2023-05-28 - Rating: 5)
Under the same management as Via Carota, Bar Pisellino is a street corner gem that is perfect for an afternoon aperitif or coffee to escape the bustle of the city. Super quaint wooden decor and floor tiling, and one of the best White Negroni’s to be found in the city. Definitely will be one of my oft frequented spots during the summer. -

Review 79 (2023-01-01 - Rating: 5)
Pisellino has a fun modern old fashion bar vibe, the bartenders are on point and masters of their craft. There isn’t a ton of seating so be prepared to wait.My wife and I came here for drinks around 5:30 and we waited about 25 minutes to be seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating.Their signature drink is the Negroni, I got the sbagliato it was one of the best I’ve ever had! I ordered the Mezcal espresso martini too, it was sweet with a caffeine kick like a dessert drink. My wife got the Aperol spritz and the Sorbet spritz all were a perfect blend of refreshing with a kick. We also had the chips and they were amazing. -

Very impressive martinis and great value as well. One martini here is probably the equivalent of 1.5 martinis. Super crisp drinks, great service, splendid people watching and solid location especially if you’re in the wait list to eat at neighbouring restaurants (ie Via Carota). Only downside is they close early at 10pm -

Bar Pisellino is the best spot in the WV, all thanks to the hostess, Amy. When my friend and I arrived for happy hour on a weeknight, the line was starting to form but Amy did her best to acknowledge everyone and move the line swiftly and efficiently to accommodate everyone. She got us seated quickly and we were able to enjoy a beautiful spring night in the city. Thanks Amy, see you soon! -

Probably the best spritz in Manhattan — didn’t think I was a spritz person til I tried this one! Perfect place for a late afternoon / pre-dinner cocktail in the spring or summer. A welcome addition to the village! They were jam packed on a Saturday at 5pm and I imagine they will be every weekend, so don’t go with a group of more than 2 (tables are tiny and hard to get). -

Review 93 (2020-09-19 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely gorgeous food in very authentic italian style. The ginger soda used real ginger with a cute mint adornment, and the cornetti/croissants had a very light crisp buttery flake to their layers with a soft powdered sugar topping. -
Review 94 (2022-05-30 - Rating: 5)
I have to give 5 stars because the espresso martini was by far the best I’ve ever had and I’ve tried many! It was well balanced and had a touch of cocoa on the top. Good espresso really changes the whole experience. I’ve been before and came back just to try one of these! It’s not listed on the menu I believe it was $20 before tax. Honestly I’ve paid similar prices for poor quality with no real coffee. It was worth it! A couple other photos from a previous visit. The manhattans and pistachio drink are also perfection! -

Small and intimate spot to hang out for a pre/post dinner reservation in the west village. Their espresso martini and hot chocolate is amazing. Love this place! -

Best hot chocolate I have drank so far in the USA. It tastes so close to the hot chocolate I tasted in Milan/Italy, at Duomo place. The atmosphere is rustic and pleasant.I found their croissants and pastry too small for the price paid.Employees can be more welcoming, maybe not used to diversity ?! -

Quaint Italian cafe, always busy. Order the espresso martinis (off menu) - super tasty! LOVE the hot chocolate, it’s insanely rich and thick, like drinking melted chocolate with a dollop of cream. No reservations. Walk up and add your name to a list for a table. Took 20min for a table on a Saturday afternoon. -

Always knew of this place as strictly a bar, until I walked by in the middle of the afternoon and they were open and serving coffee and snacks. its the perfect spot to have a coffee (the americano is rich, smooth, perfectly balanced) and read a book or do light laptop work :) -

Well how can you not like when this is the quick version of the wonderful Via Carota. Fun, sweet, very Euro-New York. Is awesome to stop by for quick chats and NYC scene. Even to wait here while your table at Via Carota is ready. Friendly staff, nice indoor space, yummy quick bites and drinks... -
Review 117 (2021-09-18 - Rating: 5)
Heavy European vibes afloat at this cute corner Italian bar across the street from Via Carota. The menu features a shortlist of perfect Italian cocktails including the most beautiful Martini tray I’ve ever seen. Make them extra dirty, you won’t regret it! -

Killer negronis. The shots of water are a bit ridiculous if you are thirsty, but I guess you dont go here to drink water! The place looks straight out from Milan or trieste. Super cute. Great sorbetto as well -

Authentic northern Italian cafe. -
Review 138 (2021-09-11 - Rating: 5)
Bar Pisellino had ‘cute outdoor seating’ before ‘cute outdoor seating’ was a thing in New York. It makes you feel like you’re at an Italian cafe where the coffee is strong and the Negronis are the BEST! The bar is adorable and the interior is small, but stand along the window for an espresso, or have a drink outside and enjoy the European vibe at this very cute West Village bar. -
Review 139 (2021-07-10 - Rating: 4)
Fantastically crafted cocktails in a prime location in the heart of the West Village off of Grove Street. Sterling silver serving trays, nugget ice chilled glassware and the ambience of a Southern Italian aperitif bar bring an air of relaxed sophistication to this establishment. Not much available indoor seating which you’ll want for hot summer days in the city. Also prices run fairly high but if you’re prepared to pay top dollar for expertly made libations then this is the place for you. -

Review 146 (2019-06-17 - Rating: 4)
It was a bit of an ordeal getting seated here, and I’m willing to chalk a lot of this up to the place being new. But in general, they need to be better optimized in their seating for odd-numbered parties (my group of 3 saw many 2-person parties pass us) and really should invest in some form of cell phone notification system for their long waits. They need better communication between their staff and to their guests. I understand not wanting to hurry your customers along, but you piss off everyone waiting if you can’t get your tables turned over. That all being said, the spritz was absolutely phenomenal. I hope to return — albeit maybe with one less guest. -
