    Fun free thing to fo, other than the parking garage if youre driving. You get to see the statue of liberty pretty close so thats a good thing. Once you get off on the island, theres a lot of options to eat while you wait or the next ferry. Neat experience. Once outside there are lots of vendors and great souvenirs! Got like 20 of them for good price and quality.

    Well maintained free public transportation.Very good option for tourists to enjoy Hudson River and New York City view.If you want nice view always go in the last from your entrance and stand on deck to have full 270 degrees outside view.

    Ferry is free. DO NOT BUY TICKETS! If youre coming during tourist season then best to go early morning or late night. I went on a sunday off season and theres no waits. Recommend going to the lower decks near the back or front of the ferry for pictures, unless youre quick enough to snag the top parts. The front and back of the ferry, not the sides, are the best spots for photos.

    The experience is totally FREE AND amazing and the staff is very polite the whole system is very professional and you just board the ferry and you get on top you can sit inside you can sit outside you can taking the views we can take pictures and you will be there in 10 minutes and back in 10 minutes

    I’ve been to New York many times but this was the first time I’ve ever ridden the ferry. First thing is it’s FREE. You don’t need a metro pass or anything to ride it. Just hop on and off at Staten Island and back. You ride past the Statue of Liberty and can see all of Manhattan. 10/10 recommend

    If you want to have closer look for Statue of Liberty, get a ferry ride from here. And the best part, it is FREE. No tickets needed. If someone offer you promotional ticket, surely its a scam. 25 minutes for each trip. Have to get off the ferry once reach Staten Island and hop on back to go to Manhattan on the other ferry. Dont forget your face mask. A few passengers still stubborn by not wearing mask. Selfish people.Close to Subway, could easily head back to Times Square area.

    Free ferry ride with a beautiful view of the statue of liberty and the new york skyline. Definitely go at sunset to get the best view and sit on the right side of the ferry to see it all.

    First of all its FREE. Do visit if you go to New York. You can enjoy skyline. Statue of liberty and can also see bridges. Few pics are from ferry. The ferry takes 30 mints to reach one corner and you can board 2nd ferry to return to staten island in 5 five mints.

    The ferry arrived on time and there was plenty of seating. The reason for only four stars was because of a nutcase in the lobby. This young Hispanic guy was acting a complete fool. He was cursing and using the n-word a lot. He was even threatening officers. You could tell a lot of people were uncomfortable but he was still allowed on the ferry. Once on, he continues to rant and actually cusses out an officer who cussed him back out. The entire situation was absolutely crazy. The guy clearly had issues and shouldve never been allowed on the ferry or even in the terminal

    A very enjoyable and totally free way to see the lady Liberty! Ferries run just about all the time (night rides are less frequent) and you get breathtaking views of the uptown Manhattan as well. I would suggest taking the ferry to Staten island just before sunset, then being quick on your feet as soon as it reaches the dock and immediately hopping on the ferry that returns to NY. Its doable, just dont waste any time disembarking. Might have to run a bit. That way you get to see the blue hour! It can get windy, so consider taking a light jacket. In the summer you wont need it though.

    Fantastic free service. It was on time and all staff were very helpful. It was also one of the smoothest ferry’s I have ever been on. I still can’t believe this service is free. I would recommend this as a budget friendly way of looking at the Statue of Liberty. At night it’s even prettier to look back on Manhattan and watch it light up.

    It was a nice experience. The ferry is free cost, but there are a lot of people every day entering the ferry, so it is better if you complete the trip on weekdays. The landscape is amazing, you have a nice view of Miss Liberty and the whole island of New York. The ferry terminal is clean and with a few options for food and beverages. Have in your mind that the ferry leaves every 30 minutes give or take. Enjoy!

    What am I supposed to say about it? Its free. Its public which means its probably not as clean but better than most places in public areas of NYC. Oh and one of the restaurants had a bar while the other side was pizza. Then we went to DQ at the Staten Island side as we waited for the ferry and they had no more ice cream. 😢

    During a short family trip we decided to catch the staten island ferry. We didnt know much about it. But we found out the biggest information.... the staten island ferry us FREE!!! when you ride it over to staten island you do have to get off..but you can immediately get right back on to return to where you got on at to ride ferry to staten island. Then some God officers told us to make sure we stand on the right side of the ferry because that is the side where you can see the Statue of liberty. The ferry itself is about a 20 minute ride each way. There is plenty of seating as well. So if you are in that part of town I definently reccomend riding the ferry

    Free ferry to staten island, you’re not suppose to make a line, but people do anyways, there’s no need to rush to the front. When you board people will come and go so you just have to wait a few minute to get close to the railing! Nice view of the statue of liberty and manhattan bridge, I road it on a Saturday around 5 pm, and there was a decent amount of people there. Restrooms are clean for the most part, and they have a few fast food joints inside you can get food or drinks from. Really recommend takes about 40-55 minutes to and from and you spend $0.

    I love the Staten Island Ferry because there is plenty of security with police dogs and the Ferry is free 24hrs & 7 days a week!     The FREE way to see the Statue of Liberty, so I always take visitors here. Otherwise, I usually do not take it..Easily accessible from subways and bus. You can eat on the ferry, so bring your snacks.Tips:- Stand on the right side heading to SI for the statue view (left side on the return). The ferry is big, there is plenty of time to see the statue and ask people to rotate in and take photos.- Check the schedule, it usually runs on time.- There is time to make it off the ferry in SI, and turnaround for the next one back to Manhattan right away.     Always an Experience when Visiting the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. The Crowd and the Blend of Different cultures that come together. Was able to Help Someone having a Moment with Tears in Her Eyes. A few Kind Words changed Her Whole Mood and she ended the Ride with Dry Eyes and a Smile on Her Face. Knowing that Life moving forward would be better. An For me it is always a Calming and Cleansing Feeling to Cross open Water.
