    The Branzino with corn was amazing and worth it. We devoured it until the last bit. The tuna tartare topped with caviar was delightful and light. Lamb was easy to cut and had a small crispiness to it, which was really good with the cauliflower. Cocktails were good and strong. Service was attentive and friendly. Its definitely a place to try again.

    We had a great time and were surprised by the excellent service from the servers and sommelier. We were looked after by at least four people, and even the chef personally brought out one of our dishes.I will be back soon!Incredible level of service, hard to find in New York.And the food is delicious!     Really cute place to grab drinks. I got the magi margarita and it was such a great balance of sweet and a little spice. Quiet place but everyone at the bar was very friendly and engaging with one another. Great wine selection as well!

    Amazing spot near Brooklyn Bridge- Dumbo. Food was delicious! We got the pork chops and gluten free pasta. Service was amazing, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made our experience enjoyable. If you walk out of the restaurant, you will be on the boardwalk in 2 minutes with the views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

    My friends and I were visiting Manhattan from Toronto and got in on Friday afternoon. We were looking for somewhere to go for a nice cocktail and some sharing plates and came across bar56 on Resy. The food, drinks, and service completely blew us away. The staff were so friendly and accommodating with our requests and you can feel how much they care for their guests. The food was the tastiest we’ve had in a while - the raviolo is a must try. The last minute decision to book here ended up being one of the best food experiences of our trip. Thank you!

    We were so glad to have dined here- it’s a great date night or just nice dinner out option. Food was perfect for sharing or individual, and a nice variety of new American dishes to choose from with chef driven and tasty preparation. The pastas are top notch, we had the lobster tagliatelle and the parsnip cappellaci was out of this world. Also enjoyed the hamachi crude and the pickled veg served with Sakura pork. Very approachable and attentive service with beautiful decor. Really solid wine by the glass selection to please any diner with helpful category descriptions which I appreciated to achieve a quality pairing.

    While visiting the area, we were looking for a low-key spot with great food, and Bar56 turned out to be the perfect place! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by Scott, who, along with Gustavo, took wonderful care of us throughout our visit. Their attentiveness and guidance with our food choices made the experience even more enjoyable.All our dishes were fantastic, but the standouts for us were the raviolo and the octopus. The raviolo was perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor, and the octopus was cooked to perfection—tender with just the right amount of char. Scott also suggested the perfect wine pairing, which elevated the meal to another level.To top it all off, the desserts were out of this world—fresh, delightful, and light, a perfect end to a memorable dining experience. Overall, Bar56 delivered on all fronts, and we would absolutely recommend it. A solid 10/10!

    Had a great time on my first no corkage Tuesday evening.The oysters and their accompaniments were lovely. We also tried the tuna tartare. The lobster fettuccine is absolutely worth it!Will definitely be back

    The waiter said they were known for their handmade pastas which were beautiful but truthfully underwhelming. I really enjoyed my fish and their wine pairings. We did the math on the préfixe and depending on what you order it’s actually cheaper to go a la carte.

    It was a very fun and most delicious experience at Bar 56!!! at great location in middle of Dambo, only a few minutes from F line York station. I took nice little walk by the river with beautiful view of Manhattan before go inside. Its very cozy and elegant decor made me feel comfortable immediately. I was so impressed with the menu which wines by the taste from bright and crisp to powerful and extracted. It was very refreshing way to choose wine by how my palate wants! I had super fresh, I mean sushi grade fresh Hiramasa Crudo and most tasty grilled Octopus with Chenin Blanc from South Africa. They were super delicious !!! while enjoyed nice chat with Megan and Erin the bartenders who gave excellent service. It was too bad that I could not try the day special of Sakura Pork since I had another engagement later on.I cant wait to go back and try other dishes and interesting wines!!

    I had lunch at Eataly and hated every wine I tried. Here I told the lady what I enjoy in a wine and she brought me delicious glasses. I could live here! Can’t wait to return. Very professional staff too. Did not try the food as I was only here for drinks.

    Briane the cocktail bartender is very nice and knowledgeable about the 56 wines by glasses they have on the menu. Definitely coming back to try their tasting menu which is changed every 4 weeks. Wonderful experience

    We had dinner at Bar 56 for our wedding anniversary and it was an incredible experience. We are used to going out in NYC but this definitely blew us away. The team was amazing, from a warm and very personalized welcome to a flawless service throughout the meal. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the wine very diverse and easy to choose from the menu. We also loved the atmosphere and decor of the place. We will come back again for sure.     I can’t say the last time I have had such an all around positive dining experience, as I had last night at Bar 56 in DUMBO. Wow did my friends and I get lucky finding this place. We saw a show at St Ann’s Warehouse, which is just steps away from Bar 56, and went to eat there afterwards. The food was absolutely phenomenal, no exaggeration. Flavors and textures were interesting and layered and the ingredients fresh. I had the lobster tagliatelle, which was fantastic with little bits of fresh basil and shavings of kumquat throughout (perfectly cooked and a wonderful flavor combination), the beet salad, a complimentary ravioli and we shared desserts. Everything we had was outstanding. So much so that we ordered a second of the same tiramisu (which was like no other any of us had ever had). The wait staff was so professional and kind and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, despite our late arrival. The ambiance was lovely and classy and we felt very relaxed and comfortable. The restaurant has been there since last summer and I sincerely hope they do well in that spot. The space is beautiful and so close for pre or post theater dining. I highly recommend this restaurant. Take a special date or best friends for a really fantastic night out! You will love it. I can’t wait to return someday when I’m visiting NYC again.

    Finally some real good food. The Hiramasa Crudo is fresh and achieves a balance of different flavor and texture, it is quite surprising and interesting to eat. Ravioli is filled with cheese and raw egg yolk, which is creamy and hearty. Sakura pork has plum and onion as side, which makes the pork juicier, and the freshness of fruit contrasts well with the grilled pork. Overall 10/10

    Bar56 is a destination you have to go to for your dining experience. Overall experience was impeccable. The warm welcome of the staff was very inviting and the atmosphere was intimate. The recommendations that were suggested due to my dietary restrictions were spot on. The food and wine was delectable. It hit every sensory level of my palate. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back again.

    Highly recommend! We had a celebration for my sister and her fiancé just getting engaged. It was 20 people. It was amazing. It honestly exceeded my expectations. Aaron and Isabella were so attentive and great to work with. We had a corner of the place that had seating and standing area which was perfect for the type of party I was hosting.The food was delicious and was being passed around at a great speed and time. I was so stressed all day about making sure everything was perfect and Aaron and Isabella made sure I had nothing to worry about.Everything was so amazing! Words can’t even describe how happy with how it turned out.

    The service and food here is beyond! So excited to try a new restaurant in Dumbo, and was blown away by the quality of the meal. The atmosphere is inviting and upscale, a great place for a date or dinner with a friend. The cocktails and wine list have plenty to choose from. Everything we drank and ate was 10/10. Highly recommend the four course tasting, while being a great price, you also get to sample a little bit of everything without feeling overwhelmed or too full. Excited to see something as great as this establishment open up in the neighborhood!

    I had to change anniversary dinner reservations last minute and I am so glad I stumbled upon bar56 on google maps. H/t to other Google reviewers giving this spot 5 stars, it deserves it.Different (much cozier) vibe from Cecconis nearby, and I think the food/service were superior.Signage is somewhat limited and not super easy to find at night. Google maps has it in the right spot. Our uber was going to drop us off in the wrong spot though (further down Water street). The entrance is on the side of the building, off the pedestrian walkway, not the road. It is just before the Time Out Market entrance.Service was outstanding. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and well taken care of for the evening. I just want to stress this point a bit more, service was outstanding. While much of the city moves in the other direction service-wise post-COVID, bar56 was a breath of fresh air.Food was delicious and exactly what we wanted on a cold/windy winters evening.I ordered a cocktail, which was good, though looking back I think I regret not getting wine though. It was a great wine list. My wife enjoyed her non-alcoholic cocktail (one option).We can easily recommend every dish we ordered. Everything was cooked to the perfect temp/doneness. We ordered 3 dishes per person as recommended and agree, that was the right amount.- Almondine Bread: great for mopping up the remainders of every other dish here- Baby Beets: May have finally convinced my wife not all vegetables need to be served hot.- Raviolo Al Ouvo: spot on al dente, flavors all worked so well together. All the richness/umami.- Langoustine: Hear me out... the pasta kind of tasted like Chicken Flavor Top Ramen. In the best way possible. It was delicious and comforting and somehow nostalgic. Unfortunately my wife was (apparently) too bougie growing up for Top Ramen so she couldnt confirm, but she did eat every last bit of the dish.- Lamb Neck: fall apart delicious with a nice contrasting slightly crisp outside. This was the only dish I would have changed something on. Didnt love the white beans and could have used more fermented chili. Also thought mushrooms would have gone great with the lamb, but Im basic.- Arctic Char: cooked to perfection. My wife even ate the skin, she never eats the skin.

    My husband and I happened to stumble upon this beautiful restaurant during our walk along the park. We were told it’s only been open for 3 days. I felt invited upon entry by the staff and I think the owners. I love the way the menu is structured. We only had an app and some wine, but we’ll be back. I felt under dressed, but was treated the same as anyone else. We’ll be prepared next time!

    An incredible new dining experience, with a vast beverage selection and dining menu. The Snap It Up may be my new favorite summer cocktail, and I can’t wait to taste their new upcoming fall creations. You cannot go wrong with anything you order: we especially loved the Raviolo, the croquettes, and the steak dish. Melt in your mouth. The staff are top notch, and create a sophisticated, welcoming, and elevated dining experience whilst making you feel like you’re dining with your closest family. The ambiance is superb, great vibes for dinner with friends, extraordinary wine selection and DELICIOUS food.I recommend the Raviolo Al Uovo and Ora King Salmon cooked to perfection by amazing chef Vincent Cortese, it literally melts in your mouth.     Bar56 is what this neighborhood has been missing. Everything from the menu, to the wine, to the interior design has been carefully thought out and executed. The staff is truly some of the best. All of the food was so delicious - loved the potato croquettes, brussel sprouts, ravioli, steak…did not disappoint.     A gem of a discovery.The food was tasty: from the raw salmon and tuna starters, homemade pasta, branzino (fish main course), hazelnut creme brulee and piedmont (which I cannot recommend enough) all included in an evening menu. The flavours were sometimes unusual, but the combination worked really well for those into gustative experiences.The service was great and knowledgeable on the meals and drink selections.The atmosphere was fantastic to cater for a date without the restaurant feeling overwhelmingly busy with other customers on a weekday evening dinner.

    We went to bar56 for dinner last night and loved it. The cocktails were amazingly good (I had the Shoot From the Hip). Service was exceptional (friendly and speedy). The server was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the portion size (tapas) and make suggestions. The timing of the food and drinks was spot on. The food was amazing. Among other delicious things, we ordered the lambs neck (pictured) and it was cooked perfectly and served with a yogurt sauce that was very tasty. The desserts were also yummy! With your check youre given a card about the wine you ordered - good to keep and know! Overall an exceptional experience and were so happy to have a place like bar56 in the neighborhood!

    I went to Bar56 for my engagement dinner.The team there went out of their way to make it an incredible experience, from the food to the drinks to the service, everything was literally perfect.Even with what felt like extra attention on us we noticed every other table was getting the same fantastic service.A top notch experience, if I could leave 10 stars I would.

    Went in without a reservation upon opening, and was offered the bar/lounge as first come first serve. Must say, some of the most impressive and well trained staff, 5 star service, kindness as well as attention to detail. I wish I got their names to call them out. Every pasta dish was incredible and the cocktails were super creative. I’ll 100% be back when in DUMBO. Side note, I also brought my (very small) service dog and they were extremely sweet and kind to him which is rare for many establishments.

    Great addition to the neighborhood. Fantastic food (the Lamb was exceptional), and great drinks in a really beautiful space. Food is tapas style. Attentive, friendly staff. Loved the little details like the cards with information on the wines you ordered. The bar area is also really cool. Will definitely return.

    Bar56 is outstanding. every dish we had was delicious and the ambiance was ideal. every bite was worthwhile but if i have to pick favorites, the cappellacci was the showstopper for our table. wonderful arctic char. we also fought over the pistachio crème brûlée. last but certainly not least: the service was top-notch. hard to find places like this in NY - can’t remind here enough!

    We just had a dinner I this restaurant. Before rest of NYC discovers it and you have to wait two months to get a reservation, better go there now. Food is amazing, wine list superb and service is impeccable. This place have such a great menu and you can’t go wrong. Chef is a genius. It is a great restaurant.

    I love the space, and the staff was welcoming. The food was phenomenal, definitely the best in the area. The small plates allows you to try a lot of different things, and everything is good for sharing. The Oyster and Salmon with Caviar are a must. Will have to come back to try the rest of the menu.

    Phenomenal menu. We especially loved the beets, broccolini/grape/fennel salad, lobster tagliatelle, ravioli, branzino and pork. Definitely save room for dessert, and ask the sommelier for pairing recs. It’s a beautiful space and wonderful staff.

    We had a fabulous meal here a few days ago! Food, presentation, service and ambience are all 5 stars. Our favorite pasta was the Cappallachi and the Artic Char was delicious too. Their Som was excellent as well and paired a nice Spanish Organic Red wine with our meal. This restaurant was absolutely delicious and a must go!

    My girlfriend and I have been twice since they opened, including for our anniversary. The food is incredible, we have loved everything we have tried so far. The Hiramasa Crudo, Cappellacci and Lamb Neck are all standouts. They also have an extensive wine list all available by the glass. On our last visit they seemed a bit too busy as they had a few errors in service like our dishes coming out in the incorrect order. Even so, they tried to make things up to us and comped our wine. We will certainly be back and recommend Bar56 to anyone in the area!

    Was in the area & wanted a solo dinner. I sat at the bar & ordered the mocktail (super delicious). I wasnt sure how to order since all the plates seemed small so I asked the bartender for her recommendation & she said to start with the crudite & end with the raviolo with an order of bread. This was a great combo for dinner myself. Portions are on the small side & the plates are pricey but its made up for in the quality & overall experience. I did feel a little hungry afterwards - couldve ordered another plate but wasnt feeling like dropping $80+ dinner on myself that night.

    I am totally smitten with Bar56. The space is stunning and warm, with a lounge to the side when you aren’t ready for the night to end (making this a perfect date spot)! The wine list is super fun and approachable, as is the staff. Make sure to come hungry because the food is exceptional. Every dish shines but the raviolo is an absolute must. We ended up ordering more of the langoustine pasta dish because we couldn’t get enough. Pro tip: order the bread to scoop up the perfect yolk of the raviolo or the sauce on the artichoke dish. We can’t wait to go back!

    What a great night. Beautiful restaurant with an attentive team. Got the shoot from the hip cocktail - loved it. The wine selection was also awesome (loved the gamay). Other faves were the croquettes (wish i’d ordered another round) and the panna cotta with olive oil and salt wow. Will definitely bring more friends here to catch the sunset on the water and enjoy dinner after.

    For those of you in the city…this restaurant is DEFINITELY worth the trip to Dumbo. The space is warm and inviting in a gorgeous setting. Perfect for a date night, get together with friends or just a fun nite out. The wine list has a great variety and the sommelier is so helpful finding what suits your taste. But the real draw is the food which is exceptional. All the dishes were amazing. I would highly recommend the crudo, raviolo, langoustine pasta and fried artichokes. Make sure you leave room for desert as the panna cotta is the best in NYC hands down. Will definitely be coming back!!
