    I visited this restaurant for lunch with my Golden Retriever, Birdie. True to its reputation as one of the most dog-friendly places in Manhattan, the care and attention toward pets were evident from start to finish. They even have a well-prepared menu for dogs.The food was as good as expected, and while the prices seemed a bit on the higher side, the friendly service and thoughtful accommodations for pet owners made it well worth it.

    I went here with my wife and 6 year old daughter on a rainy Wednesday night — good reviews and menu and not far from our hotel so we decided to check it out. I’m sure glad we did. We were greeted warmly and seated by a woman who seemed to be the manager or owner. Our waiter and server were both very friendly and attentive and our cocktails and food were delivered quickly. And they made sure to make our daughter feel right at home. Our guacamole and chips appetizer was tasty and fresh and our Baja Tacos meal was on point. It was cold and raining during our visit but looked like it would be a great spot for outdoor dining as it was in a quieter off-street courtyard.

    Went to brunch here and it was perfection! They are SO dog friendly and our server even made sure to welcome our dog to the restaurant. The outdoor seating is spacious and the food was so delicious. I got the steak and eggs and my boyfriend got the challah French toast. They also had a dog menu and my pup got the chicken and rice and the pup dessert (whip cream). We will definitely come back, thank you barking dog for the hospitality not just with us but also with our dog!!

    Nice spot a little off the main streets, staff was friendly, lots of seating available inside and out. The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable for NYC. Good spot for breakfast or brunch.

    Update Dec 11 2024: No longer allow dogs indoors, unfortunately - someone complained. But they have a warm dry outdoor section for dog owners, and still lovely service.Original Review: This place is WONDERFUL for dogs. They allow dogs indoors and give them their own water tray. I sat here for 2 hours indoors with my pup Fern and had a wonderful time.The fish n chips were yummy too! Ill definitely be back, and am so grateful for a place where me and my dog can sit indoors in the city with AC and a great atmosphere!

    Really good food and atmosphere. I got the buttermilk chicken sando and it was excellent. Very open and tranquil ambience. If youre into dogs, its very dog friendly. If you dont like dogs, everyone here is respectful so it shouldnt impact you at all. (I say this as someone who used to have a fear of dogs).

    Spectacular. The food was delicious. The lemon chicken soup was super surprising. The burger was juicy and cooked very well. The fish in the fish and chips was so tender, and flaky. Scooby Doo rum drink just sweet enough and hit the spot. It was an awesome lunch find for us. Fantastic atmosphere and just a hidden gem in NYC.

    Great restaurant with amazing staff, tasty food, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. This cute and casual spot is a great spot to watch the game and a great weekend or after work stop with friends for good food and drinks. The service is fast and efficient, with very little wait time, and the staff is very attentive and friendly, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. They serve no fuss food that is delicious and filling. They offer a great theater menu option that gives you an appetizer and entrée for $27.95, with the option of adding dessert for $5. I had the soup of the day, which was cream of broccoli, and the lasagna bolognese, and for a drink, I had the pawsome. I thoroughly enjoyed everything and was especially pleased with how tasty the food was

    Came here with the family after seeing the Bubble show. Food was amazing. Lamb burger and blackened salmon sandwich were sooooo good. Drinks were great. Kids menu was great and wasnt the frozen or cheaply made kids food they serve at most places. Kids sliders andChicken nuggets were great. A little pricey but what do you expect in Manhattan.     Christy was a great waiter. They got busy just as I was leaving and his pleasant personality never changed.I had the soup of the day, minestrone, and it was very yummy.If you like the idea of seeing some puppies at lunch, there is a special dog menu here so you are likely to be graced with their cuteness.

    This is a nice place with great service and delicious brunch. The hostess greeted us from the first moment and she offered a table on the sidewalk. The server was kind and smiley. After he placed our order he checked on us several times to see how we were doing. We didn’t order any coffees along with our brunch because it just happened to have had it a few minutes earlier. Another lady noticed that and she comes to us with a big smile and kindness to offer us -even- coffee for free. So nice of her!But we were good at that moment.Our plates were delicious. I ordered the avocado toast and my friends did the frittata and the lamb burgers. At the end we shared a plate of pancakes. Everything was delicious! The service was top notch and the environment cool. Oh! The sidewalk is also dog friendly. Good job guys.

    Came around noon on Aug. 22. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere. General Manager and waitstaff were wonderful. Food was wonderful and fair priced. On Thursdays, there’s entertainment outside, too. Definitely recommend!

    Came here for dinner prior to a show on a Friday evening. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. The service was great and we didn’t feel rushed at any point during the meal. Soups were fantastic. I loved the Butternut Squash and my wife had the Lemon Chicken soup. The entrees were also great. Healthy portions but not so much that we felt like we overdid it. Also, unlike other restaurants, we didn’t feel like our food was dredged in salt to give if flavor. Kudos to the chef!

    Lovely setting for a meal! Tucked away from the noise of the streets, they have tons of outdoor seating with a pretty fountain in the square. The service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Sando. The big bark sauce is like a classic fry sauce, great addition to the burger/fries. I wasn’t blown away by the food but would like to try the brunch menu.

    Soooo yummy! I got the salmon omelette and it was delicious! The atmosphere was great with lots of natural lighting and indoor and outdoor seating too! The staff was super friendly and attentive too! Obviously since it’s New York City, the price was pretty high, about 30 dollars for the omelette but I thought it was personally worth the splurge!

    This place is great! Me and my family ate dinner here during the holiday season. The entire staff were so hospitable, making our dining experience really special. The food was incredible. Everything from the salads to the main courses were made with fresh ingredients so the taste was delicious. We will definitely be coming back here the next time were in town.

    I planned a party at The Barking Dog for my puppys first birthday, and everything was amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful and resourceful getting it all set up so we would all have a good time in a festive setting. They blocked off a section of the space for a dozen of BooBoos little friends (and their parents). And they were attentive whenever we needed anything throughout the party. Everyone had a great time, and all the dogs went home thoroughly exhausted.

    My wife and I came here tonight. The food was amazing (burger, fries, soup, and the “Scooby Doo” cocktail, BUT (if at all possible) the service was even better. Our server’s name was Kristi. He did an excellent job and was very attentive, went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of on multiple occasions. One the best service experiences I’ve had in recent memory. Additionally, we love the atmosphere. Very classy and the dog theme was the cherry on top. We would absolutely come back here

    We were in New York City for a long weekend and stopped by the Barking Dog for brunch on our last day. We are very pleasantly surprised to not have to wait too long to sit at one of their tables in the outdoor extension that was covered in glass. There weren’t heaters, but there was plenty of ambient heat from inside so that the temperature was not an issue. Our server was very friendly and efficient. They have a good drink selection and their brunch menu was fantastic. We got one of their omelettes, eggs Benedict, and their French toast and all of it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody that is in the area and wants a casual place to get some good food!

    My BFF and I were visiting NYC and decided to grab a bite to eat before our show. We were told about this place and I am so glad we decided to try it out. Walking up to this cute bistro style restaurant you are met with the all different types of dog pictures on the walls…. I LOVE dogs, so I was even more excited! The entire staff are super friendly, and we were greeted and seated immediately. We told them we were in a time crunch but they accommodated us and got our meal and drinks out to us very fast! The drinks are very good, and the restaurant continues the dog theme in naming their drinks… I ordered the G dog and my friend ordered dog bubbles… both are drinks were delicious! Next came the food…. WOW! They had just added a seasonal special, pumpkin soup, to the specials, my friend ordered it and she loved it. I tried it and the flavor was surprisingly savory. I expected it to be sweet but it was creamy and the pumpkin flavor was delicious. I ordered the blackened salmon sandwich and it was very good! The salmon was light and flakey and met with a chimmichuri sauce that the restaurant makes in house, and also delicious!!!! Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Esteban our waiter and Lucy the General manager, thank you for the amazing service and your for being so friendly! We would definitely dine at either of their 2 locations again!!!! Also, if you have a dog in the city take them to this restaurant it is INCREDIBLY dog friendly and even has a dog menu!!!!! A+ experience!!!!!

    Wonderful! We were on the search for dog friendly restaurants and so happy we ended up here! Service was great, the food was really delicious and the staff were very friendly & accommodating. Lucy, the manager, was really on top of customer satisfaction. My husband’s food was only a few minutes late and they treated us to complimentary desert, which was very kind! We had arancini, herb chicken, fish & chips, apple pie and pecan pie. Really enjoyed everything & would 100% recommend. Place is also clean and has a lovely, cozy atmosphere.     This place is fantastic. Outdoor seating too! It was raining so we got a table inside and not only was the food delicious but the service was spectacular. This is the second place we went to for dinner tonight because the service sucked at the first place we went to. Took two subway trains to get here. Highly recommend this quaint and superior place to eat, that also is all about dogs!!! Happy hour is ”Yappy Hour” and if you bring your dog you get 50% off drinks! Amazing.

    We showed up in the middle of a thunderstorm and came in drenched. The staff was so concerned about us and went out of their way to try and make us comfortable.     Our family visited Barking Dog on 11/26 at 10:30am and were welcomed with so much warmth and positivity from the staff!     We tried this spot because it’s just a few blocks from the office for happy hour for a coworkers birthday. It was the perfect Spring day to sit in the square with $5 Chardonnay & frozen margaritas and enjoy some calamari and fish and chips. The atmosphere was just the ticket, unlike other outdoor spots in the area where you’re sitting on the sidewalk or on a windy rooftop. The staff was so sweet and personable and we had such a lovely afternoon that time flew by and we stayed well into the evening.     Pet Friendly is a term that is thrown around quite a bit these days. After being left in the cold (literally) by other places that claimed to be dog friendly, we were amazed by the level of courtesy given by manager Lucy and staff on a relatively busy Christmas Eve! Our Shiba Inu was gifted water and treats and also offered her own dog menu with delicious/nutritious foods available for dogs. The human menu was AMAZING and I enjoyed one of the best French toasts I have had in a while. The Mozzarella Omelet was perfectly cooked and fluffy. All in all, we will definitely make Barking Dog a pit stop whenever we are in Hells Kitchen.

    This place is wonderful, we came only because we could be with our dog it definitely exceeded our expectations, the service is wonderful, all the time they are checking what you need and they are super sweet, and the food is 10 of 10.

    This place is awesome! We ate here after the Thanksgiving Day parade for breakfast. The food was delish, friendly staff and they allow dogs! They also have an outdoor sitting area. I highly recommend it!

    Good option for having outdoor breakfast, very good coffee, the barking dog breakfast with eggs, ham, Homemade potatoes, toast and fruit was perfect to start the day.

    If I could give this place a thousand stars I would… I’ve come here come twice once for dinner and now for brunch and I just love it here. It’s hard to go out with a 120 lb dog and be accepted anywhere but with their outside heated seating, full dog menu, multiple specials and delightful food I couldn’t be more pleased about this place. The service is great so attentive and friendly with us and my dog and the food is just hits right. I will keep coming back thank you guys!!!!

    The self description as most dog friendly restaurant in New York City is pretty accurate. They love dogs, the food is good and they’re eager to please. Great value and our pup gets to come along. What’s not to love?
